If you're in East London looking to sample some Yunnan cuisine, this place could be an option to consider. Famous for its 'Crossing the Bridge' noodles, a dish where raw ingredients are cooked right at the table in a steaming broth, this restaurant, unfortunately, falls short of authenticity and feels overpriced. They somehow cooked and at a price that could cover the toll for an actual bridge.
However, it's worth a try as the menu diverges significantly from Yunnan's offerings. You'll find common Chinese dishes like braised beef noodles, stir-fried pork with peppers, spicy boiled fish, and rice with various toppings, which are quite common in other Chinese restaurants in the area, often more delicious and and less strain on your purse.
Consider it a quirky culinary pitstop rather than a destination.
