The 38 Best London Restaurants, According to Eater’s Local Dining Expert

"Open for: Lunch and dinnerPrice range: $$Cloud Land is one of just two London venues specializing in the cuisine of the Yunnan province of southwestern China. The serious restaurant serves ambitious and delicious food. The Yunnan spicy chicken, red with chiles and smoky with Chinese black cardamom, is incredible (and incredibly unusual in the city). So too are the ceremonial cross-bridge noodle soup and the Dai-style fried beef and mince dishes (the latter are reminiscent of Thai larbs). There’s playfulness, too, in the crispy, simply seasoned pork and the vinegar-dressed fried cabbage, which is the perfect accompaniment to cut through a host of hotter, richer plates.Know before you go: A waiter at the restaurant describes Yunnanese flavors as a “cross between Thai and Sichuan.”" - Adam Coghlan

We recently hosted a birthday banquet at Cloud Land 遇见云南, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The staff were incredibly warm and helpful throughout the event planning and during the dinner. The private dining space was beautifully set up, perfect for a celebration with friends and family. As for the food – absolutely top-notch! Every dish was beautifully plated and full of flavour. The crab, lobster, and prawns were fresh and cooked to perfection. The presentation was elegant and really impressed all our guests. All in all, the evening exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion with authentic Yunnan cuisine in London! Will definitely come back again!

Came on a Saturday and was pretty busy but came at 5:30pm so no waiting was required. Service is pretty good and they accommodated our 5 person party by moving tables around. In terms of food, it’s definetly not the 4.6 as on google reviews…. The good - the noodles, vegetable and sour fish was good - though very spicy. It did remind me of yunan when we were there late last year. The signature dish - braised pork belly with Mei Cai, skip that dish … we felt it was frozen and heated up as the flesh was super dry and did not look like as the menu picture at all. The deep fried pork - another dish that was a complete disaster. Super dry and many parts of was just eating deep fried batter. This was the worse of our dishes. There are a lot of positive reviews and the menu is extensive so perhaps it’s just what you order, but for us we’re not likely to return.

Came here twice for dinner. Wanted comfort food as I was jet lagged. Food was good and plentiful but the servers' attention to hygiene had me a little horrified. They let the chopsticks rest directly on the table, and also handed them to me once with one chopstick facing them and one facing me! Not many chinese food options near my hotel though, so I came back anyways.

Amazing experiences every time I visit. Some of the most authentic Yunnan cuisine I’ve had outside of the region, even beating a good chunk of the Yunnan places in Beijing. Staff are friendly and service is fast. Portion sizes are generous considering the economy. A gem in the city and a comfort place

Always enjoy visiting this place. Not expensive, good variety of dishes and great flavours. Service is polite and efficient. Have never had to book but it does fill up as the evening goes on.

The restaurant is closed to canopy hotel and Liverpool Street station ! But in my opinion , you can taste the spicy flavor but nothing else!

The service of this restaurant is bad. One of the waiters is a bit rude and not that kind.
