Nestled in the Lower East Side, Cloud Vietnamese offers a cozy escape with a whimsical cloud-themed decor and satisfying pho that hits the spot for any craving.
"Cloud Vietnamese pulled customers in for its novel peanut butter coffee, but kept them on the premises for its summer rolls incorporating fresh mackerel, avocado-dressed steak, and flawless pho, with the most nuanced broth imaginable. Clouds dangle from the ceiling, making you feel like you’re dining in a summer sky." - Robert Sietsema, Eater Staff
"Cloud Vietnamese is a new Lower East Side place with a few novelties on the menu, like flavored coffees. It also offers an exemplary bowl of pho bo, furnished with sliced steak, brisket, and beef balls, The fat-rimmed brisket is particularly good, and the broth on the mild side and heavily oniony. A small saucer is provided for the accompanying sauces — for dipping the meat, not dumping in the soup." - Robert Sietsema
"The ca phe bod dau phong ($7) came to the table already pressed, dark on top, lighter on the bottom. I held my breath and stirred, then tasted. It didn’t taste at all like peanut butter, but it did have a nutty savoriness that buoyed the roasted flavor of the coffee beans. When I got to the bottom, there was a caramel-color sludge, kind of pretty but also inedible. It made me wish I’d stirred the coffee with every other sip." - Robert Sietsema
