Chicago-Area Restaurant Openings For Spring 2018 - Eater Chicago

"THE LOOP— The space formerly known as the John Hancock Observatory has a new bar, or at least a new name for the bar. While Chicago’s famous skyscraper of the Mag Mile finds a buyer for naming rights, they’ve renamed the bar in the 94th floor to Bar 94." - Ashok Selvam

Cloud Bar Chicago provides a truly unforgettable experience! During our recent visit, we had the opportunity to try their new spring drink menu, which was a delightful mix of refreshing flavors perfect for the season. Each drink was beautifully crafted, showcasing unique ingredients that really stood out. The breathtaking view from the bar is nothing short of spectacular. We enjoyed taking in the skyline as we sipped our cocktails, making the atmosphere even more special. The highlight of the evening was definitely the thrilling tilt—an exhilarating experience that adds a fun twist to the already stunning scenery. What made our visit truly memorable, though, was the amazing company we were with. The positive vibes in the bar complemented our delightful conversations, creating an enjoyable and lively ambiance. Overall, Cloud Bar Chicago is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy great drinks, a stunning view, and good company. I can't recommend it enough, and I look forward to returning soon!

Google
Wow—360 CHICAGO is truly a must-see when visiting the Windy City! From the moment you step into the elevator and speed up 94 floors, you know you’re in for something unforgettable. The panoramic views of the entire Chicago skyline, Lake Michigan, and beyond are absolutely breathtaking—especially around sunset. You can literally see the city glowing from every direction! The TILT experience added the perfect touch of thrill. It’s a little nerve-wracking at first, but once you lean into it, it’s so fun and gives you the best downward-facing view of the city. The bar area is super chill, too—I grabbed a cocktail and just soaked in the vibe while looking out over the lake. Everything felt clean, modern, and well-organized, and the staff was really helpful and friendly. Whether you’re visiting Chicago for the first time or you’re a local showing friends around, 360 CHICAGO is worth every penny. It’s one of those iconic experiences that you’ll be talking about for years. I give it a full 5 stars and would definitely go back again!

Google
A must go to if it’s your first time in Chicago. Definitely recommend to see the entire coast and the sunset around the 7pm. Jalen and Andrew were awesome!!! I highly recommend the Tilt Ride! It’s not that scary just hold on.

Google
Cloud Bar in Chicago is next-level — 94 floors up with absolutely crazy views overlooking the city! It’s honestly one of the coolest spots to grab a cocktail and unwind after a long day. The vibe is unbeatable, and sipping your drink while taking in that skyline is an experience you won’t forget. Highly recommend if you want to impress or just enjoy a stunning night out!

Google
We had a great experience at the CloudBar over the weekend! We went to Chicago for a quick getaway and knew we wanted to go to 360 Chicago. We did the tilt “ride” and then went to the bar to chill and look over the city. The views were insane!! Panoramic views of the city, 94 floors up. The bar was super cool with themed drinks which I always appreciate. They were super tasty!! Between the four of us, and a few rounds, we basically had the whole menu and all of them were spectacular!! The bar staff was super friendly too. 10/10 recommend this spot! Would definitely go back.

Google
Had an amazing experience and drink at CloudBar thanks to Johnny C! The conversation that came with the drink was so welcoming and informative. Glad I had a great experience with my family and cousin from out of town! Will definitely be coming back!

Google
Amazing Rooftop Bar with Stunning Views and Great Cocktails If you're looking for a fantastic rooftop bar in Chicago, this spot is a must-visit! The view is absolutely incredible, offering breathtaking sights of the city skyline. The bar provides excellent service, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The cocktails are top-notch, with a great selection that caters to all tastes. While there's a $40 entry fee just for the bar, the experience is definitely worth it for the atmosphere and scenery. It's an ideal place for a night out or special occasion, blending great value with an unforgettable setting.

Google
Views? Unreal. You're 94 floors up—can't beat it. Spent about $40 for a cocktail and a beer. Got the Cloud9 drink and a local brew. Super trendy spot, cool vibe, but yeah, you're def paying for the view. Staff was nice but it got packed quick. Not an everyday hang, but great for out-of-towners or a date night flex. Docking a star 'cause it's pricey, but still worth checking out.

Yelp
We purchased a package for $54 to do the sipping view and the tilts in the cloud walk. It also came with a drink. Below our pictures of magnificent margarita, Lakeshore, Breeze, and Hancock sour. The customer service was great.

Yelp
Always wanted to go here and when our friend visited us, took the opportunity to take her to CloudBar. Parking a little tricky to get to due to all the one way streets in downtown and the spiral drive up the parking is tight!! There are plenty of parking but you have to get on one elevator to the next, depending on what floor you parked. Not many directions on how to pay but I finally figured it out after many elevator rides. And, they do validate by the gift shop, which is about $5 off. We purchased the Sip and View package. Place was packed but we were able to see great 360 views of the city and found several seating areas to enjoy one alcoholic beverage on the list. Bar tender did not skimp with alcohol. A bit pricey but great place for a quick history lesson and scenic views of the city!!

Yelp
This place was pretty cool although the package was a little deceiving. We came up here for the view and a drink. The package didn't specify that you can only order certain drinks, and all on the list sucked... the first bartender I ordered from did not give me an option and gave me the list of gross drinks to order from. My bf took my drink and let me use his ticket to order a basic vodka soda drink, however the second bartender said I could use it and get a regular drink for a cheaper price with the ticket. I gladly ordered an espresso martini, which was a great drink! I feel like it's kind of wrong to have a package with the drink, and it not include one of the good drinks... would have rather just bought the ticket for the view only and just bought a regular drink. The view here is awesome, and the inside of this place is cute too. But I probably would not come back as it is way too touristy feeling.

Yelp
-5 if I could review! Geeeez where do I start!?! Thought l'd book a romantic "sip, tilt, & view" * Observation deck admission, TILT Ride & CloudBar access for my wedding anniversary well going at night not much help you have unenthusiastic employees that you have to look for for direction. Walking into 360 we were met by the condensing EXTREMELY rude "Marco" my wife & I "tried" to make our way to the bar with her moving a barstool from the end of the next to a couple to make room for us both well the bartender IMMEDIATELY "noooo nooo this is my workplace you cannot be in this area" well we had not yet situated where we were sitting the couple next to us were kind enough to slide over to make room for us as we proceeded to try to sit down "Marco" still upset that we moved a barstool condensingly said this is my work place you want to get wet & dirty that's on you" very unprofessional again we hadn't even situated ourselves he was rude condensending my wife replied we are just simply getting adjusted and said you don't need to be rude just serve us our freaking drinks, Marco replied "I don't need to serve anyone that is swearing at me l have the right to refuse" VOLUNTEERED his manager "Dillon" immedialtey which told us instantaneously they have a friendship & or more we explained the situation Marco continued to argue with us as we spoke to "mgr" Dillon the mgr Dillion asked him to step to the back he refused told him 2,3x before marco did being very defiant Dillon served us our drinks we told the "mgr" Dillon we don't know if he's having a bad day but it has nothing to do with us "mgr"' Dillon replied he was having a good day until you came in! my wife was VERY uncomfortable so we left the bar walked around and Marco looked for us to tell us "we spoke to the patrons next to you & they told us you were rude & these will be the only drinks you will have for the Night at our bar" my wife extremely upset that they ruined our anniversary said that's fine this was our first time at 360 & will NEVER patronize this bar again! "Mgr" Dillon's response "well I'm just letting you know if you step foot in our bar again I will have you removed from the building" YES great first experience great way to treat a couple on their anniversary great job marco & dillon amazing how easy it was to treat us like trash I am VERY sure by their arrogance & sense of empowerment that we are NOT the only couple or people for that matter that have been mistreated this way! Just total disrespect is dispicable behavior by these 2 they were extremely waaaay too comfortable mistreating us obviously this is how they conduct themselves & there is absolutely noooo accountability at this bar! please review your so called "footage" as Dillion said you have! Way to mistreat minorities BY minorities or maybe that's the whole purpose to keep us out!

Yelp
This was part of an overall package I was part of through a group that hosted us for the weekend. Convention, basically. So, this was all included with the event (including Tilt). The bar is nice, though. We had drink vouchers, which meant a specific menu you could order from. I was fine with that, since I didn't have my heart set on any particular beverage. I got a couple of the Chicago Baybreezes (or whatever they were called), which were quite good. Well made and quickly prepared. The service was quick and efficient. They had to serve a LOT of people on a Friday night, so you could tell they were running around a lot! But, all that being said, they did a great job overall. The views are unbeatable, of course! This alone might warrant the return visit. But, it was a good experience, all things considered. They won't win awards for variety of drinks or creative cocktails, but for having to basically operate as a "weekend party bar," they were well worth it.

Yelp
Sitting on the 94th floor of John Hancock building, observation deck with bar, and a tilt stands for those brave souls, CloudBar is must visit for tourists. On a clear day a person can see 4 states: Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana! Additionally, the cloud bar offers 360 degree view of Chicago and Lake Michigan!

Yelp
This bar was a cool experience especially if you're new to Chicago. The view is one of a kind. I'm definitely not a heights kind of person so it was a little bit hard for me to look down, but it was definitely worth it. I love how there's convenient restrooms, a shop and a bar all in one. What was great for us was coming down from the bar and going directly into cheesecake factory which is after their bottom level. Please keep in mind that there is a lot of people at the bar and not a whole lot of bartenders. In terms of food, they have a little snack shop next to the bar, which is kinda nice to just grab a drink and a snack. There is no way you're coming to Chicago without stopping here!
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
Bartender Aaron was incredibly rude - I stood at the bar waiting to order and others came up and he would help them but never acknowledged my existence.
google avatar

Charmaine S.

Yelp
We didn't get food but we got the deal that came with drinks. They have non alcoholic for kids! Service was organized. Place is so inviting! Perfect place to look at Chicago from the top!
google avatar

Cesar And Desiree A.

Yelp
Part of the Hancock 360 & TILT experience, the complimentary drinks and bar view come with the package. Nice spot to cheers to the sunset and cap the memories. 5 stars because the bartender let us come back for new cups to take home as souvenirs - very thoughtful!

Yelp
Went to Cloud bar during the air and water show weekend to watch the show. We had to purchase a ticket and select a time to attend. We got there around 10:30am for our 11am time slot. We arrived to the floor and found out it's first come first served seating. This was not noted in the tickets or website. the area was full of tourist as the other side it the tilt ride thing. It was kind of annoying they allowed whoever to be over there if they didn't purchase a sip and view ticket nor reserved a time. One drink is included with the ticket and outside of that the drinks are really pricey around $20+ a drink. There is a small area with snacks that include old looking sandwiches from fat shallot, the greens in the sandwich were very wilted and slimy looking. Also a small bag of vitner plain chips is $5.

Yelp
Cloud Bar is located at 360 Chicago, so be careful with trip planning and what time and date you go or you'll be trampled by tourists... or kids on a field trip. With average cocktails at a steep price but aye, you're really there for the view. We did the top package so got to do the TILT experience which was not that scary or exciting for me, I thought we were gonna be tilted at a 90 degree angle completely horizontal, but it was less then a 45-degree angle, and they upcharge and push this as an experience....... This is the reason for my 4. stars. You can pay extra for the tilt and then you'll get one drink included from CloudBar. I enjoyed the decor and lots of seating options, countertop bar vibes against the glass looking out at the cityscape and large auditorium-style bleachers to accommodate large groups./ The views from the 94th floor speak for themselves, very informative and set up like a museum, learned alot about Chicago and the different neighborhoods and their rich cultural history while here. Service was great the bartenders were all friendly and Chicago/Illinois locals. Overall a fun place to explore, and have a cocktail would recommend to people but wouldn't ever go back personally. My only con is that they don't serve food. but I'm not going to knock a star for that, they do have a full cafe with premade sandwiches chips cookies and other snacks

Yelp
We went around 5 pm on a weekday and it was the perfect timing. Got to look around and still get a seat at the bar. There is a variety of specialty drinks - something for everyone. The bartender was super sweet and patient while we figured out what we wanted. It was a great place to hang out and the views were a great perk.
google avatar

Yelp
If you are not afraid of highs, then this is a wonderful place to go. The drinks are amazing. The views are amazing. The excellent service provided by the staff was accompanied by their friendly and humorous demeanor. If you appreciate good humor and have a positive personality, this is the perfect place for you.

Yelp
Stunning, stunning, stunning views all around! We had purchased tickets a month in advance and when we got to Chicago, they couldn't find them anywhere in the system and he had lost the email so we had to purchase our tickets again, which was a drag, but we really wanted to experience the 360 Observatory Hancock building. 95 floors but a pretty quick ride up the elevator. Interesting trinkets to purchase. Everything was nice. We sat at the barstools against the windows to get those exceptional views and ordered a martini and an oatmeal cookie and the prices are just too exorbitant. It's ridiculous. Even if they just simply hand you a cookie they expect a 20% tip. It's just insane. And to be honest, most of the staff were pretty unfriendly.

Judit C.

Yelp
Do I recommend this place? Absolutely! The best view in Chicago for sure! I have been here for couple of times and I definitely recommend it to anyone. My most recent experience here was with a local yoga group, they had an early morning yoga class 1000 feet closer to the sun. After the class, the place opened up for complimentary mimosas. The bartender was super nice and served the mimosas or coffee in the early morning hours, and of course the full bar was open for business for anything else if it needed. My next visit will be at sunset time and I can only imagine how beautiful it will be!
google avatar

Kassandra L.

Yelp
The views are of course amazing but the bar itself is lacking. This is such a dope concept but their speciality drinks are beyond boring. The cost of the experience is pricey so I expected unique drinks. Our drinks were poured from a premade mix and tasted fine, nothing spectacular.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Surprisingly good drinks at a bar with great views of the city! You never know if you're going to pay an arm and a leg for a crummy drink at places like this but it was quite good. Yes, it was a tad on the expensive side but overall the experience was worth it. The bartenders were both super nice and seemed to enjoy working there... which you also don't always get at more touristy spots. The bar had several signature drink options and quite a good liquor selection for this type of bar!
google avatar

Anand D.

Yelp
This is worth the view at least once. Such a cool location for a drink or cocktail. I'll always bring visitors here. Definitely buy tickets before hand.
google avatar

Cristina M.

Yelp
We made a reservation for a work onsite and the crew at the bar was not nice and was rude. We ordered the same drink a second time but was made by a different bartender and was really bad. We didn't drink it. When we told them that it wasn't like the first one and was very sour their answer was that we didn't have a reservation which we did. They need to Improve the people skills!
google avatar

Rebecca G.

Yelp
Go early! We missed all the crowds. We were one of the first people to ride the tilt. Tilt was cool, very brief and short. They do not allow videos inside the enclosure so no go pros or phones but a family member or friend could video from outside the cage. The cloud bar is nice, but be ready to spend some cash $$$$. Drinks are about $20 each. But if you got it like that go ahead big baller. Right around 11am, it started to get packed so again, go early.
google avatar

Kelvin E.

Yelp
Must do in Chicago!! Visit the cloud bar at the 360 experience. This view is crazy!! I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Made our way over after spending some time admiring the views. There was only two empty seats at the bar so my sister and I sat down while my friend and my cousin stood. The bartender quickly came over and went over the drink menus with us. She mentioned to us which ones were their two most famous drinks and so we went with those. I ordered the sky high cocktail, my cousin had a michelada, my sister had the wild and personable cocktail and our friend had a pineapple mocktail. We were of course ID-d. No biggie. My cousin and sister both handed their ID's over and then I handed mine. Their ID check was fast but mine was passed down to a different lady. She literally looked at it for what seemed like forever. I mean I'm flattered that she would think I look underage but I did not appreciate the look she gave me because maybe she thought my ID was fake... Our drinks were made right away. My drink came with a show and the bartender made my bubble extra big, it was so cute. Flavorwise though, not my fave. I spent $22 for a cocktail plus a $5 tip for a super sour drink I did not like. The michelada though, was very gooooood! Drinks are pricey so keep that in mind. I would pass and not get drinks if I were to come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful highest lakeside view from 360 chicago. Must see spot of Chicago's. With sky blue cocktail you will feel into the clouds.
google avatar

Aishwarya P.

Yelp
We went here after visiting 360 Chicago! Perfect spot to grab good drinks! We got 'The Tilt' and a Margarita! Both drinks were great, I preferred the margarita more! You can find a spot and order at the bar! Love the views from here and it was a perfect way to end our visit at 360 Chicago! Will be back!

Yelp
After years and years of making the former Signature Lounge (located on the 95th floor) a must stop with every trip to Chicago, imagine my disappointment with only having the option to visit 360 Cloud room. I feel so bad for those that have only experienced this version of the Hancock Building. It's very touristy, loud, and extremely overpriced. You are required to purchase a ticket just to get up there. For adults withought kids looking for a refined, less noisy space with unmatched views and impeccable service it's even more disappointing. And now, the same company that created the 360 Cloud room has purchased the former Signature Lounge space. This is so disappointing. I get that they needed to combine the space they had before all on one floor but my hope is that with the purchase of the 94 and 95th floors they will be able to separate the " Disney Land vibe" from a true Adult thrill experience and give back to Chicagoans, the kind of space that held such wonderful nostalgic experiences withought force feeding them a tourist attraction.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Went up around 9 PM on a Thursday for the Tilt, View and Sip. Not super busy, took around 30 minutes in line for the tilt, which was great! View is superb as you can see the whole city form the top. Bar drink was decent, actually had a fair amount of vodka. Would definitely recommend even for just the view

Jason M.

Yelp
Drinks were bad and I think they do a disservice by not just being honest about the vibe inside. It's a waiting area next to a ride

Christina M.

Yelp
Views were great! So not get the sip and view package. Just get the tilt and view package. Buy your drinks separately. The options for drinks are minimal and horrible. We couldn't even drink them. A waste of money.

Russ L.

Yelp
Great location. Food and rinks excellent. Service ok. Working kinks out for a new place. Great vibe.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
CloudBar is a must-visit when in Chicago with its views of literally every angle of the city. You can see Navy Pier, the sunset to the west, all of the major downtown landmark buildings including the Sears Tower, and a bunch of really neat rooftop pools. There's also a bar and cafe located on the same floor that offers alcoholic beverages and some basic food. The prices are steep but they comes with the view. Four stars for the experience being expensive (~$30 per person) and the sweatshirts being ridiculously overpriced!
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
Fun little place to stop and have a little snack after your tip experience..not a huge selection, but a nice place to stop for a quick snack!

Wendy H.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times, most recently yesterday and WOW this place has amazing views of the city! I spoke with Dilan who was behind the bar and instantly felt so welcomed. He was very friendly & kept making sure my bf and I were enjoying our time here! I would highly recommend visiting. Great atmosphere & great service .
google avatar

Arnez M.

Yelp
I went with a friend to do drinks then lunch, we were very dissatisfied with the atmosphere and ambiance. For the price of admission we expected to have a nice vibe... no much. It seems that be strictly for tourists and souvenirs. Not happy but, we wont pay again for that experience... we now know what to do.
google avatar

Crystal P.

Yelp
We did the "Sip, Tilt, & View" package.... It is definitely worth the money! The view was amazing, even on a foggy or rainy day, there is plenty to see. The drinks were sooo fun and tasty, and the tilt was quick but scary and fun!
google avatar

Alice K.

Yelp
Drinks with a view of lake michigan and north chicago. Our server was really friendly and great conversating with. Visited at 10AM so just did different types of mimosas. Not a 5 star as, the bar began to get a bit busy and the other 2 workers decided to start mopping the floor lol
google avatar

Evy V.

Yelp
We tried the bar here because a drink came included as part of the ticket we bought. It also included access to the "tilt" attraction in the same building. Nice views in the area, but you'd get great views regardless

Skippi W.

Yelp
For what it is, I enjoyed it. It's a bar with limited drinks and no snacks. The view is amazing and the tilt is fun. It's an experience that I'm glad I did. Got me a souvenir mug too!
google avatar

Kelsey S.

Yelp
We got two drinks included in our TILT ticket. The drinks come from a small select menu. The margarita was so sour we almost couldn't drink it. The other drink we got was so sweet and barely tasted like it had alcohol. The bar wasn't busy at all but they sloppily make your drink and give it to you in plastic cups. Disappointing. Kind of takes away from the experience of being up there. Wouldn't waste time or money on drinks here again.
google avatar

Courtney C.

Yelp
So disappointed. I was visiting Chicago from Houston and was so excited to come to this place after seeing it on tik-tok.....not worth it. Long line to go up, it's hot up there, you pay for a scheduled time for the tilt but have to wait in line 30-45 mins to even get to it, kids everywhere, the bar tables by the window were dirty, drinks were mediocre, gotta wait in line 30+ mins to leave.....just not very worth it in my opinion. The bartender was nice though.

Yelp
Just visited CloudBar in Chicago, and Tegan was our bartender. She was simply phenomenal. I don't know how much more I can ask for in such a pleasant person with such phenomenal skill and customer service. She is such a joy and a pleasure meeting. If you go to this bar, please ask for Tegan. She knows what's she's doing.!
