Clove works for late-night butter chicken in a sleepy area - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Despite being just down the road from Boeing, where people work around the clock, most spots at The Landing in Renton shut down surprisingly early. The exception is Clove Indian Cuisine—open until 12am—standing out as a reliable late-night option. But the genuinely good food here is worth checking out anytime. This huge, extravagant restaurant is decked out with midnight blue velvet, quilted upholstery, and vaguely royal vibes that may briefly make you rethink wearing sweatpants. But despite the glitzy Vegas hotel room decor, this place remains approachable. The staff is friendly, the booths are plush, and there’s almost always a table ready when you walk in. Settle in late for creamy butter chicken, garlic naan so fragrant you’ll smell it before it hits the table, and plump samosas. Sure, the dal runs a little watery and the garden noodles are aggressively salty, but the clunkers are few and far between. Food Rundown Butter Chicken This one’s a winner. It has everything you want in butter chicken—a rich, creamy sauce and tomatoey sweetness. But it also brings a little extra tang and punch, like a tikka masala. The best of both worlds. photo credit: Makena Yee Vegetable Samosas Order these for the table. They’re packed to the edges with spice-loaded potato filling, wrapped in a thick, flaky shell that’s as satisfying to crack open as a double-stuffed Oreo. photo credit: Makena Yee Yellow Dal Tadka These lentils have good flavor, but they’re too watery and thin to really hold up to a scoop of rice or swipe of naan. Bhindi Do Pyaza Move over, saag aloo—there’s a new green vegetable worth your attention. Skip the spinach and go for the okra, cut into small chunks that stay tender without turning to mush. It’s cooked down with loads of caramelized onions and plenty of cumin seeds. And if okra slime is your concern, there’s none of that here. Garden Noodles These chow mein–esque noodles are heavy on the salt and the oil. Skip them. photo credit: Makena Yee" - Kayla Sager-Riley

This restaurant is all about amazing interiors and atmosphere. Sadly though the so called allure or appeal wears out pretty soon thereafter. Even though the wait staff is attentive - they are almost always stressed out due to number of patrons they end up serving every day. Coming to the food... the most crucial aspect of any restaurant - is quite a let down in my opinion. The starters/appetizers are reasonably okay in taste but lack presentation skills from the chefs involved. The main course is just about okay. The expectations are always going to be high considering the amazing decor of the restaurant but the sad reality is quite the opposite. There is absolutely nothing to write about the main course dishes. There is no individuality in the dishes. It's almost like one curry base being used almost everywhere and the chefs hoping for a miracle to happen taste wise 🤔 The serves sizes and prices don't necessarily suggest anything either way and can be just about personal opinions.

We enjoyed clove chicken tacos, Palak patta chat, spicy Karhai Panner, Latpata Chicken, Rumali roti, Butter Naan, and Butter Roti. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. The chicken tacos were butter chicken curry in soft tacos, which wasn't unique; we had hoped for more different flavors. The Palak patta chat was quite good. Our request for spicy Karhai Panner was fulfilled perfectly; the spices and flavors were well-balanced. My husband's Latpata Chicken, ordered with a spice level of 4, was wonderfully flavorful, unique, and unlike other chicken curries he've tried. The chicken was tender and delicious. The three types of bread we ordered were served hot and fresh. Overall, we had a positive dining experience. The restaurant was quite busy during our visit, operating on a walk-in basis only, as reservations were not accepted.

Clove has quickly become one of my all-time favorite Indian restaurants, especially when it comes to appetizers. I’ve visited multiple times, and every experience has been just as incredible as the last. Their appetizer menu is unmatched the lamb chops are perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the paneer quesadillas are a brilliant fusion twist, and the masala fries, vada pav, and golgappe (pani puri) are absolute must-tries. Each bite is packed with authentic Indian flavor, and their virgin drinks are refreshing and complement the food beautifully. The place is always packed, and for good reason. We’ve had to wait 30–45 minutes on a few occasions since they don’t take reservations, but it’s always worth it. The staff is super friendly, and the interior design is stunning modern, cozy, and filled with vibrant Indian touches that create the perfect atmosphere for a great meal. If you’re a fan of Indian street food and small plates with bold, delicious flavors, Clove is the place to be. It’s my go-to spot when I’m craving appetizers done right!

Google
Clove Indian Cuisine is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever visited. My better half has been to the top Indian restaurants in NYC and she was impressed. From the moment you walk in, the warm hospitality makes you feel welcome. The food is outstanding — every dish bursts with authentic flavors and just the right balance of spices. The chicken tikka was rich and creamy, the lamb chops were tender and full of depth, and the naan came out hot, soft, and perfectly crisp around the edges. You can really tell they use fresh ingredients and put care into every plate. The service was excellent too — attentive without being overbearing, with staff who are happy to recommend dishes and adjust spice levels to your preference. Our server was Ishwar who did an amazing job. I’d highly recommend Clove to anyone craving quality Indian food in the Seattle/Renton area. It’s a place you’ll want to come back to again and

This is one of the finest Indian Cuisine restaurant that I have found in longest period of time. The good, the ambiance, the customer service is top notch. George made us feel comfortable and answered all our questions related to the menu items. He was very warm and friendly. The food was too delicious and mouth-watering. I highly recommend this if you are in Seattle area.

Google
Great experience! One of the very few Indian restaurants which offer authentic indian taste. I was recommended by quite a few people about this place and thought i must try it. For starters, we ordered the chicken tikka which offered 5 pieces of juicy chicken served with 3 varieties of chutney/sauce. Then we ordered garlic naan to accompany with Paneer Saag which was a delight. To finish it off, I ordered a Mango Lassi which is probably the best one i had so far in seattle. The overall experience was worth it.

Google
I was excited to try this restaurant after hearing great things from friends about the ambiance and tasty food. I visited on a Friday night and, as expected, there was a 30-minute wait for a table. Since I was prepared for it, I didn’t mind — and the beautiful interiors and ample parking made the wait more bearable. We started with the Paani Poori, which had great reviews. For the main course, we ordered Goat Biryani, Karahi Chicken, Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, and a Virgin Mojito. Service was underwhelming — the server seemed rushed, didn’t greet us or smile, and just went through the motions. The Virgin Mojito was disappointing, with soggy, brown mint leaves and lemon syrup instead of fresh lemon. It had a slight chemical taste. A restaurant of this caliber should definitely use fresh ingredients. To their credit, they replaced the drink when I pointed it out, and the second one was better. The Paani Poori was nicely presented, but the poori seemed pre-packaged and the flavored water lacked depth. The Goat Biryani was just okay — mild in flavor, though I did enjoy the raita. Garlic Naan and Chicken Tikka Masala were standard. The only standout dish was the Karahi Chicken. Portion sizes didn’t quite match the prices. Overall, while the ambiance is lovely, the food and service fell short of expectations. I’m not sure I’ll return unless the food quality is brought up to match the setting.

Google
We loved this Indian restaurant. We aren’t a big fan of spicy food, and they ask at the beginning what level spice we prefer. All of the food was delicious. The pani puri was a first for us, and it was a fun experience. They have several vegan and vegetarian dishes for those that don’t eat meat or dairy and eggs. The restaurant is beautiful with velvet booths and tasteful decor. The staff was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of well. This is a fun place to come for a birthday, anniversary or special date night.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Service from Shoh was fast and friendly. Place was clean. Overall outstanding! We'll be back.

Yelp
OMG. Such good food! Shoh was our server who led our enjoyable experience. We had masala fries, yummy vegetarian dishes- you've gotta order the eggplant dish, and garlic naan. I'm looking forward to left overs!

Yelp
When it comes to Indian food in Seattle I don't have very high expectations but Clove is changing that for me. Maybe it's the fact that it's in Renton lol. This is my second time eating at Clove and just like the first timel I was blown away. I had their Vada Pav and it instantly reminded me of back home.. like the true Bombay street style flavor, crispy and comforting. I also ordered the Chicken Malai Kabab which literally melted in my mouth.. so tender and yum. All the chutneys that came with it were delicious too. Chicken madras was another banger.. you can really taste the curry leaves.. the flavor really came through it.. super authentic and tasty. Rumali roti was very fresh too. The vibe is more on the fine dine side but not pretentious. Staff is sweet, attentive and just overall good energy. Clove, please don't change. You're officially my go to Indian spot in the Seattle/Renton area now!

Yelp
The Clove Indian Cuisine I ordered my go-to comfort dish, paneer tikka masala, and on the food front--no complaints. It was flavorful, satisfying, and exactly why I keep coming back to Indian cuisine. Good food is the baseline, and The Clove delivers there. Where things fell short was the service. Our waiter seemed genuinely ambivalent that I was even there, which is always a bit of a head-scratcher. Dining out isn't just about eating--it's about being welcomed. When the service feels indifferent, it takes the shine off an otherwise solid meal. Here's the thing: I can choose to eat anywhere. So can everyone else. There is good food everywhere--every strip mall, every block, every corner. What's hard to find (and what keeps people coming back) is good service. The kind that makes you feel seen, appreciated, and worth the table you're sitting at. I want to root for this place because the food is good. But service matters. A lot. Especially when earning repeat customers is tougher than ever. Good meal. Missed opportunity.

Yelp
My faveeeee Indian spot!!! Truly ! My first time coming I met this older gentleman who has a great personality on him, my friend had to take a pic with him. Next time we came we were looking for him but found out he moved out the state. We were devastated. However I've came many times after and met Abhay, who is just as sweet and makes great cocktails !!! Food is spectacular. Ofc I'm obsessed with my butter chicken but I always try to pair it with something new every time I come. I tried Latpata Chicken twice now and is soooo good 8.5/10. A bit more on the spicer end. Most recently I tried Karahi Chicken which was flavor full but ok. 6/10. Not sure what didn't make it great but the chicken was very juicy! Mango chkn curry was good but I can't have a lot of it 7/10. Fries were nice and the sauces were interesting. Really nice mixed together. However those crunchy balls thatu fill with soup - Gol Gappa Pani Puri was actually nasty.. I hated it. One was orly sweet n tangy n the other was watery in the sense of flavor. Idk how to explain it but I can say I am not a fan. The hype is not worth it. Love the garlic naan and my peach lemon drop! Lastly, love the aesthetic of the place. Very clean and spacious. Love the color in there and I love the bar area. I feel like it not very common to have a full bar at an Indian restaurant so I was very pleased. The night time lighting is beautiful! I'm excited to try more and expand my taste buds!

Yelp
We had such a great experience at Clove. The service was super nice and welcoming even though it was really busy. The place looks modern and stylish but still feels true to Indian flavors, which we really liked. The food was amazing. The paneer curry was rich and flavorful, the pani puri was so good, and the mango lassi was one of the best we have had. We also loved the paneer quesadilla, which was a fun twist but still tasted authentic. Overall, everything from the food to the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
My colleagues wanted to visit this place and we decided to go in early around 5:30ish for dinner on a Tuesday. The place did have a few tables occupied already and we got a nice corner table. Service was good and got checked frequently. We were a group of both vegetarians and meat eaters. We ordered the following Gol Gappa (pani poori) Palak Patta Chat from Chat corner AJWAINI PANEER TIKKA TANDOORI LAMB CHOPS CHICKEN MADRAS Soya chaap Masala AMRITSARI CHOLE (CHANA) and lot of different indian breads - garlic naan, bullet naan and rumali Desserts - Gulab Jamun and Ras Malai (this was really bad taste wise and texture wise). Overall a good dining experience and ambience. The waiter didn't ask us about paying and gave the check/bill directly to one of our friends, and the plan was for me and another friend to split and not let her pay. But she was the one who paid. I would go to this place once again when I am in the area.

Yelp
Tried Clove Indian Cuisine and honestly had a great experience. It's a modern Indian restaurant with a nice vibe and plenty of seating, so it didn't feel cramped even though it was pretty busy. We started with drinks and ordered the Cardamom Rose Martini and the Blood & Blanco. Both the cocktails were really unique. The cardamom one especially had this really nice balance of floral + spice. For appetizers, we got the Tandoori - Ajwaini Shrimp, and Chicken Malai Tikka. Everything came out hot and flavorful, but the standout for me was definitely the Ajwaini Shrimp - super unique flavor and something I'd absolutely recommend trying. Our server, Teja, suggested most of these dishes and he was genuinely friendly and really knowledgeable about the menu, which helped a lot. For mains, we shared the Zaika Shahi Paneer and the Latpata Chicken. Both leaned more toward a North Indian flavor profile, rich, creamy gravies with lots of depth. I didn't get to try any dessert this time. If you're in the area and want good Indian food that stays true to classic flavors but also has a modern twist in some dishes, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Nice spot for Indian food in Renton with upscale vibes. I came here for dinner with some friends Friday evening around 6 pm and we were seated immediately. There were 4 of us + 1 toddler. We parking in the shopping plaza lot next to the restaurant. It was busy but we still managed to find a spot. I started with the virgin mojito ($7), which was fantastic! Would highly recommend this for a non-alcoholic drink. The menu, especially the starters, has some interesting fusion dishes like Indian style sliders and tacos. My friends have been here many times, so they knew exactly what to order. We shared: Masala fries ($8) Tikka masala quesadilla ($12) Flatbread with chicken ($15) Chicken tikka masala ($19) Saag paneer ($19) Chicken biryani ($21) Assortment of naan and roti Of everything we ordered, the flatbread was my favorite from the starters, as it tasted exactly like an Indian pizza. I enjoyed dipping each slice into the tikka masala sauce served with the flatbread. From the mains, my favorite was the chicken tikka masala, which had a smooth gravy and tangy tomato flavor. The chicken biryani was also very flavorful, though I personally found it a bit too spicy for me as I don't handle spice well. The saag paneer was good too, but it was a bit on the bland side compared to the other two mains. We definitely ordered too much, but Indian food tastes great heated up the next day, so no regrets!

Yelp
I came in with some friends for lunch on a weekday. We were promptly seated and all commented on how nice and beautiful the restaurant was inside. It was tough deciding what to order with so many great things on the menu. I ordered the butter chicken and it was delicious! Very creamy with great flavor and spice. My friends all loved their food as well. In addition to great food, the service was also wonderful. Our server was very attentive and was constantly refilling our drinks. They easily split up our check as well, which is always a plus! I would definitely return to Clove.
google avatar

Ramya A.

Yelp
Food came in great portions. The garlic naan was delish. My saag paneer had great flavor. The chicken dish was great! Beautiful space and will come back. The service was really nice too. The server found some crayons and paper my daughter could draw with.

Naren V.

Yelp
The chicken biryani was good. They had it replaced when we didn't find the chicken fully cooked. The service was good, they kept checking on us and asking if we were going as good. So happy on that front! The restaurant itself felt welcoming and exquisite!

Yelp
This place is surely highly recommended, the food is yum.... From the starters to main course it was just wow! Golgappe with different flavor of water & the presentation is totally to go for The masala chaps are highly recommended too, super yum & flavorful Vada pav & paneer sliders were amazing too The main course we ordered :bhindi, daal & malai kofta.....only vegetarian options tried ....

Yelp
I have been to Clove several times now for lunch, and has yet to disappoint. The vibe is very modern and cool - I'd like to come back sometime for happy hour and sit in the bar. Every dish has been solid - Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Saag, Chicken Korma, Mango Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo, and obviously Garlic Naan. Wonderful flavors with sauces that make you want to lick the bowl. The only knock and reason for 4/5 stars is the service. I have yet to be greeted with a smile by the host and the servers are the least friendly bunch I've encountered. But ultimately I come for the food and look past the service!

Yelp
This location has plenty of parking as it is part of a shared space location at Renton Landing. Once you enter though you are treated with an elegant, calming and lovely decorated space. From the chairs, the art to the ceiling the details were thought about. There is some construction in the bar area but it will be lovely once it is completed. The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly and efficient while being knowledgeable about the menu and the dishes. My friend and I really enjoyed every dish we tried. The vegetable samosa was good - nice crunch, the mint sauce was a perfect topping. I liked the fluffy naan with the garlic flavor that wasn't overwhelming. My dish had the right amount of spice. The pieces of meat were big as was the portion size, you will be leaving with lunch for the next day. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything we got was so good! There were a lot of things on the menu we still wanted to try so would definitely be back to try more! Food was ready quick and all of it was really hot and fresh.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in a shopping plaza with multiple other businesses. We came on a Wednesday evening and multiple patrons were inside. The restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated. Our server and some of the other employees that we engaged with were not personable and didn't really speak or engage with us. Our food was good though. I got the chicken tika masala that is served with family style rice. It had a nice flavor. The naan bread and shrimp were also good.
google avatar

Yelp
The interior of this restaurant is beautiful! I loved the dark luxurious blue walls and chairs with the sparkling lights and gold accents throughout. Someone spent some time, effort and money on the design, fixtures, and finishes! We had the pleasure of having Francisco as our waiter. He was very friendly and welcoming though he did remind us several times to leave a good review on Google. He even had a QR code for us to scan. Why Google and not Yelp?!?! We started off with the Pani Poori and the vegetable pakoras. I liked the pakoras and their mint and tamarind chutneys were on par but I did not care for the Pani Poori at all. The sauce that they served in vials did not complement the bland balls. I understand that these fried balls are very fragile so putting a sauce into them would disintegrate the shell but the interior ingredients were tasteless. My favorite dish was the eggplant. The sauce was so delicious and flavorful. The Kofta was also good and the sauce was similar to the eggplant dish. The tikka masala was good and the lamb was soft and well cooked. The chicken biryani was cooked well (chicken was not dry) but I think it lacked a bit of flavor. The garlic naan was on par. Overall I enjoyed the dinner and restaurant and if I'm in the area and craving Indian food, I will return and look forward to trying other dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
Some of the best tasting Indian food in the Seattle area! I tried their butter chicken and garlic naan, my go-to dishes at Indian restaurants and they were some of the best I have tried. The butter chicken was really tender and creamy I could not stop eating the curry sauce. The space was also super nice with shiny blue lights in the background. It does get quite busy but the quality of the food made it worth it!

Yelp
Always on side quests for Indian food, so I tried out Clove today. First impressions were great, the restaurant is nicely decorated with shades of blue and gold. For food, I ordered the tikka masala, garlic naan, and tandoori chicken. Everything was flavorful and solid, with generous portions too. I especially appreciated the variety of chutneys that came with the tikka masala, mint and tamarind were my go to combo with the food and naan. The garlic naan was crispy on the outside and soft inside. I ordered a side raiti and it was a bit tart from what I'm accustomed to. There were several servers around, though you might need to wave them down if you need something. Overall, I didn't have any negative experiences, and it's definitely a spot worth trying if you're craving Indian food.

Yelp
Clove is quickly becoming my new favorite Indian restaurant in the area. It is in such a convenient location at the Landing, with ample parking, gorgeous interior space with multiple dining rooms, and knowledgeable staff who are happy to make recommendations. I love that the menu offers a wide variety of classic Indian dishes as well as fusion preparations, like quesadilla and sliders. They also have lots of types of naan, mocktails, and appetizers that are great on their own or as an accompaniment to a meal.

Yelp
** This update is based on my recent takeout experience ** While the food is still really good, I felt an update was warranted. The lamb was cold in the Lamb Saag, which surprised me. I guess the food is not prepared fresh. Not a big deal for me to reheat it, more of an unexpected observation. But I did feel little short changed on a couple of areas. The container that is used for the Chicken Tikka Masala is a standard round plastic 16oz container, similar to what you would get at a Chinese takeout for soup. For close to $20 for the entree it felt really minimal. The Lamb Saag came in a much nicer rectangular container, although it's not clear if the food volume was more. Just be aware there's a discrepancy on packaging depending on what you order. Felt like the slightly bigger (20oz?) rice container should have been used for the Tikka Masala at a minimum. They should also provide a container of rice (a smaller 16oz) per curry which would allow customers an option to eat directly out of the rice container. Takeout pickup location is at the same area as other food delivery services. So they try to rush you in and rush you out without any real customer service. It would have been great for them to distinguish actual customer pick-ups and spend a little more time and care. No utensils or napkins were provided, and they never bothered to ask. Lastly, a handle bag would be appreciated instead of a large brown bag. Found it hard to carry and actually dropped it with the other items I was carrying into the house, which led to a bit of a mess in the bag.

Yelp
Service has been bad off late. The lady in spectacles is pretty rude. Avoid her! 0. I would not expect disposable Costco plates being used to serve food to kids. Pathetic!

M M.

Yelp
Dined here for the second time. The first time left a great first impression, but the second time was mixed. The pros: food is excellent, they have a few great cocktails including the chai masala old fashioned and the decor is on point. Unfortunately the service is the most unique I have ever experienced, and not in a good way. They try really hard to make you feel welcome to the point that service is overbearing, very chaotic and frankly odd. While Clove has all the potential for a great spot for a romantic or pleasant dinner, the chaotic nature of the service really detracts from the experience and I would never recommend this restaurant for such an occasion. The food is excellent enough that I would definitely go out of my way to order takeout from here, but I would not dine in again.

Yelp
The sliders were delicious, along with everything else. Wine glass comes with a lot, you get bang for your buck.

Yelp
It's been a while I wanted to try this - since I heard good things. It was worthwhile the travel to Renton for this restaurant. The place is upscale, clean, and served well. I must say I was little judging to see Butter chicken as most popular dish in yelp. I feared the food wouldn't be authentic. However, all the food were great. My wife loved the Salmon Tikka - cooked in charcoal. I liked that the lamb was cooked to the right level that made the biriyani delicious. Also pav Bhaji is probably one of the best I can ask for in Seattle area. I wish there were more dessert options though. That didn't change my option about entrees and apps. I would love to come again, although it's quite a drive from Seattle/Eastside.

Yelp
I love this Indian food spot! The service is very quick and the wait staff is beyond nice! The food is amazing! I had the butter chicken, goat curry, and garlic naan bread. All dishes to die for! This location is very clean and presents a modern day India restaurant. One of my family's favorites!

Yelp
Amazing Indian , was fast, very nice inside, and great food and service. Butter chicken was great and cocktails were good too.

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance was great! I would recommend to anyone looking for Indian cuisine. 4/5 because I wasn't a fan of one of the appetizers (Pani Puri). Everything else was perfection: butter chicken curry, goat curry, lamb curry, cheese and garlic naan, basmatti rice.
google avatar

Tanaya N.

Yelp
Food : 3/5 Highlight was the soya chaap. The Vada in the Vada pav was different, the whole dish surprisingly tasted good but would not call it authentic. The chicken tikka curry was tasty, but the chicken felt a bit rubbery. ( this was my experience on a previous takeout from here as well) Based on my assessment the vegetarian options here might be better than meat ones. Ambiance: 5/5 Upscale decor, good for celebrations and parties Prices: 4/5 Reasonably priced around $21 for basic entrees Service: 4/5 Nothing remarkable but we got everything on time. Overall experience :3.5/5 Definitely worth going here atleast once to try their food!

Yelp
This place makes it our #1 favorite Indian restaurant! Authentic food, filling, no skipping out on the spices, a must try! Service is always excellent, beautiful and inviting atmosphere! Recommended dishes: Shahi Goat, lamb and chicken madras, lamb biryani, coconut shrimp and panang curry and of course the garlic naan.

Yelp
Just wanted to update my review. Huge shout out to Shoh, he was such a great server! He gave good recommendations and was super funny. Good service all around.

Yelp
We went here on a Saturday for lunch with no reservations. Seated as soon as we arrived. The ambiance is amazing. The waiters are super friendly and welcoming. Everything we tasted was delicious. Especially chicken malai tikka is the best I have tried in Seattle area and butter paneer masala. The drink I tried was mango mocktail which could have been better. The service was excellent and quick. Highly recommended to try it out.

Yelp
Never had Indian food so I didn't know what to expect but everyone in my party has. The food was really great. I liked the butter chicken. I ordered the cheese naan bread to go it wasn't that good and a little burnt but overall the food was great

Yelp
One of the newest additions to the Landing is Clove, an Indian restaurant that took over the old izakaya restaurant space remodeling it fantastically. I loved how bright and open it felt, very comfortable, nice table density. I have come to prefer the bench seating versus the high tops in the bar because the bar chairs are higher than standard resulting in me having to practically jump to get seated. It is a challenge! The food is amazing! I could eat their naan every day. Their butter chicken is among my favorite because often there's enough to eat over two meals. I say often because while it is always the same bowl there's times I have gotten less chicken than other times. But with the jasmin rice the sauce alone can become a meal onto itself. The cocktails are ok. I would advise people who know their prohibition era cocktails to doublecheck Clove's interpretation of the same name before ordering otherwise you may end up with a surprise. For example they have a Bee's Knees cocktail that has whiskey and ginger beer in it which would make it traditionally a mule and not a Bee's Knees which is usually gin, honey, and lemon juice. The service is hit and miss. There's been times I've been here and had some of the best service in Renton. Friendly, patient, helpful - a smile, checking in seeing how everything is going, the works. Other times I have been here I realize I've gotten better service from the McDonald's up the road with our waiter scowling at us, deep irritated sighs, never checking back, and seemingly avoiding the entire section. Overall, though, the food and the ambiance with enough nice people make up for the outliers. I am so excited to have an Indian restaurant in north Renton area!

Yelp
I think front house operations are doing a disservice to the employees in the kitchen. The food was really good but that was the only positive thing about coming here. The host was dismissive. We only saw our server twice, nobody asked us how we were doing, and we had to flag down a random employee to cash out. We weren't the only ones who received bad service. I saw people from surrounding tables looking unhappy about their experience too. It would be nice if Naan-N-Curry in downtown Renton returned to dine-in service. We used to go there pre-2020. Ah well.

Yelp
We were thoroughly excited to go here and we finally did it. We were greeted at the door. I used my number so they could text us when a table was ready. The hostess said about 10-20 min wait which turned out to be more like 30-40. My kids were restless and hungry. We ordered the mango chicken curry, tikki marsala, naan, mango lassi, quesadilla. Everything tastes great. The tikki was our fav. The food came out faster than our wait time which is good. I asked for the lowest spice so the kids can eat it. There were some that were slightly spicy. I am thankful that they filled the rice too. The decor was nice. Clean, classy, and tastefully done. Good for date night.

Yelp
The food is SO good. I'm so glad this spot opened at the Landing. We've gone a couple times now and every time we really enjoy it. The atmosphere is great, and it's very new and clean in there. The one thing that can get a little tricky is there's multiple people helping you, so it seems like you don't have a specific server. However, they're very attentive and all food comes out quick.

Yelp
Best restaurant in town, to add on to that, loved the way Fransisco hosted us. Ask for him when you are next time. Mango lassi is no regular bottled wholesale that you get at other Indian restaurants, tasted thick, tasty and authentic. Don't miss Palak Patha chaat, peshawari naan, Rumali roti!! Veg curry tasted yumm, i got malai kofta and for non veg options - my husband tried their tandoori and their famous chicken latpata chicken which he enjoyed. Worth the drive if you are in the north or east side of Seattle.

Yelp
Went on a Friday night, whoa busy, with majority Indian diners. The finish out of the space is awesome. Very classy but not stuffy. Service was slow at first to get the attention of a waiter, but then very smooth afterwards. Tried a number of dishes, all excellent, as others have said a touch on the pricy side. Portions huge though, like a standard Indian spot so if you're in a big group, easier bc you can order N minus 1 or 2 if in a big big group.

Yelp
Me and my Yelp bestie and bestie in real life went to check out this new-ish Indian restaurant in The Landing. We went after work on a Friday for an early dinner and it did not disappoint. We started with paneer samosa

Yelp
BEST INDIAN FOOD IVE EVER HAD!!!! When you first walk in the staff is excessively kind and welcoming. The restaurant is beautiful and modern, even the bathrooms were exceptionally clean. The food is crazy good. We used to drive about 45 minutes for good Indian food but this is a 2 hour drive for us but WELL WORTH IT! Please give this place a try. It is simply amazing!!!! Cheers!

Yelp
This is a clean and spacious restaurant with a nice ambiance. We ordered the chicken saag, chicken tikka masala, and mango lassis. The chicken saag was decent, though the spinach flavor was milder than I'm used to. The chicken tikka masala had great flavor, but the chicken was a bit dry. The mango lassi was delicious. Service was generally fine, but it became a bit inconsistent as the restaurant got busier. It took a while to get our check, and despite trying to get both our waiter's and the hostess's attention, we had trouble catching their eye.

Yelp
Overall tasty Indian food! Wonderful ambiance...it's a really warm and inviting space. Modern. Plenty of seating. Service was good. Food was good! Chicken Tikka Masala 4/5 starts. Super flavorful and perfect spice. About half of the tandoori chicken that was in the dish however was over cooked. Would definitely order again though. Plenty for two meals! The cheesy naan was a fun change from the typical garlic version I'm used to ordering. Only weird thing though was only 2 out of the 4 slices had cheese inside. I even opened it up to double check haha. Didn't realize it until I ate my leftovers (I clearly ate the two pieces that had the yummy cheese oozing out while at the restaurant). Definitely order the chutneys...I really only like the cilantro/green sauce but it is at a cost and it Comes with three...including mango and tamarind? Not bad, but not my fave. The menu is pretty large with plenty of choices and a fun appetizer selection...tikka pizza or quesadilla anyone?! The drinks looked amazing even though I didn't order one. Lots to choose from. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area!

Yelp
We were in Renton, and were looking for a place to have an evening snack. We found Clove and decided to try it. We only got appetizers and drinks and enjoyed them. The interiors are lovely. We got Vegetable Pakora, Gol Gappa (Pani Puri), Chai, and Jaljeera. The Vegetable pakoros were good, we loved the chutneys that came with it, specially the mango chutney. Gol Gappa was good. We will be back to try the entrees.

Yelp
Our first time at Clove in Renton. We LOVED all of it. First, the decor is lovely. It has a moody vibe, dark colors, glass and brass. The table was comfortable. I had my tiny service dog with me and the friendly hostess asked if she was a service dog, and then seated us promptly when I said yes. We ordered Mango Chicken Curry and Palak paneer. We also ordered butter Naan. This food was perfectly seasoned. We ordered medium spice, and the heat with the seasonings was PERFECT! The dessert was rice pudding and a Mango Kulfi. They each were delicious as well. Our food was served quickly and our waiter was great. Would eat here over and over!!!

Yelp
This has become my favorite Indian restaurant. They also own a restaurant that's close to my house but that one just isn't as good as Clove. I'm on chemo and have become super picky because of that. I am not easy to please nowadays. So to find a gem like this really matters. The service is great, and the food is hot, plentiful and delicious. I've tried several types of bread and my fave is the garlic naan. I've had a number of curry type dishes- settling on butter lamb as my go-to. The portions are large. I always end up taking some home afterward. The chai is delicious though the portions of that aren't large in volume. The samosas were fried perfectly though the contents seemed a bit mushy. Then again, it's probably difficult to make them so that they aren't. I also tried the vegetable fritter appetizer. Excellent! Very flavorful and not overly dry. One does have to pay extra for the chutneys but it's worth it. It's very pretty inside with elegant blue furnishings. Even some of the water pitchers are gorgeous. And, since it's at The Landing, there's tons of parking

Yelp
Clove Indian Cuisine has a few hits and misses in a beautiful setting at The Landing. We had a good time here, but I personally wouldn't come back for Indian food, especially since there are so many other Indian restaurants around town. My friends and I came here for lunch when it first opened on a Sunday, and the place was pretty steady with patrons soon after the restaurant opened its doors. The restaurant is gorgeous and spacious, with bright lighting and turquoise, velvet seating everywhere. They also have private dining rooms that were sophisticated and colorful. But the real reason you come here, the food, was just A-OK, especially for what it costs. I know food is expensive everywhere, but everything is about $20 per dish. And the thing with Indian food is that you have to get multiple dishes to try, so my friends and I tried an assortment of food for the sharing. My friends and I shared the butter chicken, korma chicken and ajwaini shrimp with garlic naan. The dishes we ordered already came with white rice, but there is an upcharge for basmati rice. The korma chicken and ajwaini shrimp were tasty, and must say they were definitely better than the butter chicken. The butter chicken was a disappointment, as the tomato gravy was sweet more so than savory, which I did not like at all. Service was fine. We had to wave down the server a few times for refills of chai or water. And when asked if the chai had complimentary refills, I was told yes; however, I was charged for two chais. Weird. It's an expensive meal here for lackluster food. Glad I had a nice time with my friends, but far from my favorite Indian food.

Yelp
This place was pretty good/average. Although the decor and ambience was beautiful the food was definitely lacking flavor. I was surprised that our grilled chicken was very moist though. Our butter lamb was overly cooked, very tough and dry. We also ordered the fried potato sliders and it was ok. The bread ratio was huge. They potato tasted better without the bread. Overall it was fun to try, service was okay/good.
