On the Grid : Clover

"This vegetarian spot’s constantly-changing menu means there’s always something new to try. Most of Boston shutters its doors around 2 AM, but this Central Square location stays open throughout the night. With its giant wooden table that snakes through the back of the restaurant, there’s room for a group of friends to grab a bite after a night of dancing." - Intrepid

Ordered Uber eats, and was looking forward to eating falafel that was being advertised as "kispy on the outside, soft on the inside". Instead, I recieved falafel that was Krispy from crust to core. Very disappointed because the falafel is my favorite part. The fresh items were fine.

Google
Fantastic place. Has a small to medium sit down section indoors. Ketchup wasn’t labeled for takeout but that’s besides the point. Great tasting falafel. Good fixings. Great for meat eaters and veggie eaters.

So good, so friendly, the food looks just like the pics on menu and tastes even better. Locally sourced ingredients! THE FLAVORS! Took a few veggie stickers too.

Being lived in Israel I have a good taste bud in Mediterranean food. The service was excellent, the food was quick very clean and artistic dining environment. The hummus was very authentic. A good balance of oil and sour test. The veggies are fresh but the falafel balls were over cooked in my plate. I’m pretty sure that is not the case always. I will visit again. Thank you.

Fantastic healthy stop and spot for daytime or late night eats

Google
I got a falafel pita for $11.77. The falafel wasn't baked/fried enough to be crunchy, the pita was cold, and there was no taste of tahini. The veggies were good though. Kinda disappointed but the price was alright. I wish they served it in a to-go bowl to help with hummus sneaking out.

Google
Innovative local vegetarian chain that focuses on sustainability and local sourcing. Recently had the chance to try some of their platters and sandwiches, and most items I got were pretty impressive. I’m normally not a huge fan of vegetarian fast food chains, but they did a great job with getting the flavor combinations right. In house brewed vanilla soda was superb, and the impossible meatballs were the best vegan meatballs I had, and with the tomato sauce, it tasted more authentic than the non-vegetarian ones. The bbq seitan was the only item that wasn’t appetizing. For the price, the portions for each were smaller than I expected, but it was definitely worth a try.

Google
I support and have been to clover many times, now finally getting around to a review. This place is great for lunch and a quick dinner option. On this visit, I ordered one of the newer items- Verde bowl with spicy tender pork. I've never had fake pork before and I quite I liked it. The bowl itself was well thought out and balanced, very flavorful with a good mix of textures. I might hesitate to order again tho as it has fried plantains/tostones and fried jalapenos which I could get without, but then it seems to become an even smaller portion than it was. I feels it a bit expensive for what it is, but most things in this area are. Also they care about their where they get their ingredients, so I don't mind paying for that. The sides are great including the hummus, fries etc. I've had several other sandwiches including the meatball sub and falafel. Overall my only issue is they use more oil in their ingredients (eg fried or oily) than my tummy is used to. Tasty though, and would be fine for those with less sensitive stomachs. I will continue to support this trailblazing vegetarian/ vegan establishment who sources locally, and hope to see more thoughtful places like it in the immediate future.

Yelp
Clover employees are nice, the place is clean, and the did is flavorful - but the portions were really small and we were all left hungry after (we got the Mediterranean bowl, impossible meatballs, and some kind of a mushroom sandwich).

Yelp
My wife, best friend, and I came here for a quick dinner after the Red Sox game and before the fireworks watch party at the new View Boston at the Prudential. The staff was extremely friendly and we felt bad for them as it was very quiet night on 4th of July so we were sure to give them a good tip. The food was all wonderful. My wife and I shared a Chickpea Fritter Sandwich, an Impossible Meatball Platter, and a Nashville Hot Mushroom Platter, as well as two beers from Aeronaut. We loved all the food and the beers were good as well but not quite as good as some of the Sam Adams beers we have had. We look forward to coming back another time in Boston and would love it if they expanded down the East Coast to DC and Maryland. Plus the food is all vegetarian and kosher.

Yelp
Clover is a favorite of mine, and this Central Sq location is a great spot for late night eats. Actually, it's good for breakfast eats or anytime eats because Clover is amazing. I generally like to try their seasonal menu whenever I can (some great hits, but also some misses) but a tried-and-true favorite remains their Chickpea Fritter Sandwich, a riff on the classic falafel sandwich with a slew of pickled carrots, red cabbage, and red onions.

Yelp
Me: oh, do you have gluten-free bread? GM JustinTrufan;: no. Me: can I have the code to the bathroom? JT: are you gonna buy something? I mean, are you a customer? Me: I don't know I have to go really badly and I need to look at the menu. I'm 59 with IBS and a small prostate. How are you change my JT: Bathrooms are for customers only Me: great. Can I have some time decide whether or not I'm a customer? JT: *** Me: on second thought, never mind. I don't think I want to be a customer. One of the employees then started beating me, because I said I was posting this on Facebook. There was no other "customers" in the store, and Justin shares me that the owner. That's a surprise. Nothing about his demeanor (in fact he was demeaning) indicated he was invested in the success of the clover lab location in Central Square. It's not my job to share my experience with the owners and investors of this restaurant chain. But here it is any way. My prediction is "the lady (GM) doth (will) protest too much" and slander the Yelp user.

Yelp
Smaller portions than what's pictured but it's quality over quantity with Clover Food Lab. If I lived in the area, I could see myself coming here all of the time. I also want to note how quick and friendly the service is. Clover makes notably good coffee too!

Yelp
Love Clover food and this location is really fun - my kids enjoy the pinball machine (kids play free!). We haven't played the board games but i saw some available and I think they may do a board game night? Service is always friendly.

Yelp
I ordered delivery and may as well have flushed $25 down the toilet. Out of 3 items, only 1 was correct, even though the correct itemized order was even typed out and taped to the bag. Ok, disappointing, but I go with the flow, thinking maybe this was divine intervention and I might be thrilled with the substituted items. Wrong. I received a Chickpea Fritter sandwich (I ordered a bowl), and I threw 3/4 of it away. This thing was beyond soggy and absolutely tasted like it was pre-made and shoved in the refrigerator to sit in its own juices until they could pawn it off on some unsuspecting schmuck. (Me, I'm the schmuck.) My tomato soup was replaced with some corn concoction that had a quarter of an inch of oil floating on top. The only correct item was the potato salad, which was......green?? Maybe it has a pesto base, although that wasn't mentioned anywhere in the description. Either way, it was mouth-puckering with an overwhelming vinegar taste, so it too went in the trash. Waste. Of. Money.

Yelp
Online order and pickup was easy. Great falafel and soup and friendly staff. Thank goodness they are open late!

Yelp
Good, healthy food. I had their Bean and Rice bowl, which was gluten-free. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about gluten-alergies.

Yelp
I ordered the Falafel Skewers and Vegan BBQ Seitan Sandwich. The Falafel Skewers was very crispy on the outside and dry on the inside, but the sauces definitely made it more appetizing, especially the house hot sauce, which had a nice sweet flavor to it. I didn't enjoy the Vegan BBQ Seitan Sandwich. The seitan was very rubbery, and the pita was very dry, so I couldn't find myself to eat half of it. Definitely won't be getting this again! Probably won't be coming back!

Yelp
4.5 I had lunch their many times. I like the salads and fried chickpea falafel. The server was friendly, Dalianna. The kitchen cooks were also very pleasant. I will be back. Thank you. D Patnod Lic Ac, Harv square.

Yelp
I CANNOT SAY enough great things about this chain. They have locations all over the Boston/Cambridge area but I've mostly frequented the Central Square and Harvard Square locations. Creative vegetarian food with amazing flavors. These guys are GENIUSES. Their menu rotates but let me tell you , you cannot go wrong with anything here. The food is extremely affordable as well. Everything I've tried from here I have absolutely loved. Everything from the homemade seitan to the breakfast sandwiches to the creative sides to the delicious fluffy pita bread - absolutely incredible. Personal favorites for the non-seasonal items? Seitan Sandwich and Egg & Eggplant. You can get these as a sandwich or a platter. Order with a friendly employee on an Ipad in the front, take a seat, and wait for your food to come out quickly. I am so sad this chain is only in the Boston area, I still dream about their food ever single moving.

Yelp
Their sandwiches are filling, freshly prepared with quality ingredients. Their menu is creative and service always friendly and quick! Most recent visit the store hadn't received the order and despite thinking it was ordered at a different store were still willing to prepare it. Great system set up for contactless order and pick up!

Yelp
The food here is amazing! But the price of water and everything else is scary.... I had a sandwich and it was 13$... Carton water 5.something But I took a bite out of the BLT.. I almost swallowed the whole thing. It was finger licking good, hence no time for photos!!! Lol

Yelp
Stopped in for a late second dinner on a Saturday night around midnight. To my pleasant surprise this place is open 24/7 while the rest of the block had their kitchen closing at midnight. Tomato soup, fries, and a falafel pita type sandwich was ordered. We found the tomato soup a bit on the saltier side. The fries was a generous portion. The sauce made the sandwich great. I probably classify this establishment on the same grounds as say, Panera. Based on the price, quality, and types of food. I'm thankful for its 24/7 hours and would stop in for a late snack/meal again when no one else seems to be serving food.

Yelp
Not much to say but this place is always a stop. Coffee is good, food is even better and the vibes are always immaculate!

Yelp
Clover is a pretty solid place for their Chickpea fritter sandwich, and their drinks are usually pretty neat. Each ingredient tastes fresh, including the prepped chopped veggies, hummus, tahini sauce, and the pita bread itself. I appreciate that they also serve the drinks without lids or straws, so you can consciously choose to your liking if you need it. Environmentally conscious composting/waste disposal as well!

Yelp
Great location, always fast service. I'm a frequent customer at the Westford and Burlington locations. Grabbed a BBQ Seitan pita with some French Onion soup a couple times while on my lunch break and this location didn't disappoint... and always speedy service. I highly recommend any location for interesting healthy food options that always taste amazing.

Trixxs M.

Yelp
I'm sort of sad that I paid 13 dollars for a sour cup of coffee and a dry, cold breakfast sandwich with an overcooked hardboiled egg (with a green center), stiff bread and no sauce! Honestly, I have no cooking skills at all, but I could do sooo much better without even trying. Why oh why didn't I go to 1369?

Robert J.

Yelp
Healthy food, slightly slow service, novel ambiance, slightly overpriced for the quantities but if you like fresh, nutritious, creative, vegetarian food, open late, then the price is worth it.

Yelp
Excellent impossible sausage egg sandwich. Fresh oj was great and so is service. Yummy place

Yelp
Overpriced and overrated food. I often come to Clover for their coffee, but I rarely eat there, since not many of their items are FODMAP friendly. I brought my mom here yesterday, and she ordered the Impossible Meatball Sandwich (which she was shocked to discover was almost $15), while I had the Japanese Sweet Potato Platter ($9) and Peach Agua Fresca (not good). We also shared a Rosemary Fries. The first fries we got were soggy, soft, and way too salty, so I asked them to redo them and they kindly did. The second fries were a lot crispier, but it didn't have any rosemary whatsoever. The sweet potato slices on my platter were nicely lightly fried, but the side slaws were just Update: I came before class to grab a pourover iced coffee ($4). They were out of Oatly, so I got some soy milk. The milk was such an odd thick consistency, but I just went with it, but as I was sitting in class, the milk and the coffee separated into a weird suspension, and my stomach started hurting. I went back and they agreed that the soy milk did not look as soy milk should, and they made me a new coffee, which I took black. BUT WHY IS THIS PLACE LIKE THIS?!?!

Yelp
Got the eggplant and egg sandwich and the falafel skewers. Completely amazing. Service was great. I will be a regular at this location. For vegetarian, the flavor shoots the lights out, it's so good.

Yelp
This mezze platter is overflowing with goodness!! Plus a toasty pita Excellent fresh and tasty food -all for a reasonable price in bright open space.

Yelp
Clover is a great late night option on Mass Ave. I'm not a vegetarian so kept scanning the menu for meat. Where's the beef? Not here. OK, always wanted to try impossible so ordered the impossible meatball sandwich. Sampled true soups and decided to try the vegetarian soup. Man, what a pleasant surprise. The impossible sandwich was served in a fresh pita and was sooo good. If you didn't know you'd have thought it was was meat. Soup was thick like a chili but very tasty. Service was great. Prices are a reasonable. For this devout meat eater, enlightenment. Vegetarian that doesn't taste like eating grass.

Yelp
Long overdue. I keep thinking of those meatballs though. So, they must be good! Clover HFI is located in the building of the formerly beloved HiFi Pizza. Growing up in Cambridge this was the place in Central for a slice in the wee hours of the morning. So, when they closed and this place popped up; it was with speculative side-eye that I glanced their way. Took a few trips back home to finally find my way inside. I imagine what gets you through the doors is the Open 24 hours sign out front. Not many places that you can get something to eat no matter the time. In fact, they are the only establishment in Cambridge. Throw in the persnickety vegetarian aspect of dining; and food can be tough to source. With that in mind; this place fit the bill. We walked in. Great things happened. Beer on Tap. They were fresh, cold and interesting. Not a Budweiser in sight. The prices were decent for the quality as well. All from local breweries. Next to the food. We ordered some soup, fries and two sandwiches. The BBQ Seitan Sandwich was hearty and delicious. Lots of tangy and sweet seitan wrapped in a pocket and served hot. The Impossible Meatball Sandwich was a revelation! It was sooo good people had a hard time not thinking it was meat. And there were some carnivores in the mix so it wasn't just my skewed judgement. If you find yourself in Cambridge; by all means go get one. On the pricier side but so worth it. The crispy, salty Rosemary Fries were the prefect compliment to the sandwiches. They are hand cut, homemade and simply additive. So, it took a while for me to go, but I will be sure to head to one of their locations every time I am back home now.

Yelp
Clover is one of my favorite lunch spots when I'm in Central Sq! I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I'm open minded about meatless eating and everything from Clover is DELICIOUS! The staff is always really nice and helpful. They usually take your order with an iPad (not at a counter) and are very informative when you have questions with the menu. Service is usually fast and everything tastes fresh and flavorful! Their menu fluctuates a bit so check their website if you have your eye set in something specific. Most of their sandwiches come on a warm pita. The Bridgewater sandwich is excellent! The Pushpir (seasonal fried peneer sandwich) was also awesome! The Impossible meatball is pretty good but nothing too special. For sides/platters the fried mushrooms and the falafel are my favorites! The Roman tomato soup is ok but I'd get a different soup that's more hearty. Overall Clover is such a tasty spot for food especially if you are vegetarian or are open minded about vegetarian food! There are multiple Clover locations around to definitely hit one up!!

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Value: 4/5 ------ Round up because Clover has the most special place in my heart. Their breakfast menu is fire, I could truly eat 10 of those classic breakfast sandwiches in a heartbeat. Nothing beats that for me, though I do like the impossible breakfast sandwich and the popover sandwich on an indulgent day. They used to do a yogurt and seasonal jam/marmalade/compote that I loved, but maybe it's more of a rotating thing now. New items like bowls and stuff since I was here for college, but fear not, they still have the staple chickpea fritters and egg&eggplants. Their seasonal drinks also are always delicious, and if you're stopping by in the morning, they have George Howell, one of my favorite cups in the city. Service is typically great - if you're a regular, they'll quickly learn your name. If they make something wrong, you get a new one on the house. Only comment I have is sometimes they don't have someone ready to take your order, so it could be confusing if this is your first time here.

Yelp
Good food but disappointingly poor operations. Our first time walking in, it was very unclear how to order and what was a line. The staff member with an iPad at the front of what we figured was the line seemed to be having a lot of issues. A second staff member came out with another iPad. No instructions to everyone waiting. New people coming in behind us were also confused about where to line up and how to order. The iPad checkout was clunky - the staff member seemed to have a hard time finding one item (I understand they're seasonal and not in muscle memory, but it's not that huge of a food menu). The credit card swipe took 3 times to go through. Worst part: the paper under the slice of melted cheese was still inside the sandwich! Major oversight. The food was otherwise enjoyable. The chickpea and fennel salad was tasty though small. The Impossible meatball sandwich was great (minus the paper inside) - the pita was very fluffy, and the "meatballs" looked and tasted just like real meat. I wanted to like this place because they focus on local, seasonal, and sustainable. And it's an interesting concept of showing on the menu how long the last order took. But contrary to what I hoped for, the place did NOT have the feel of efficiency. They could definitely use better training and processes.

Yelp
Tried the egg and egg plant platter. Pretty good over all. My husband ordered the meatless meatball sandwich and fries. He usually hates the fake meat stuff, but he said it was good. Food 5 stars Staff 5 stars (Super friendly!!!!) Drinks...2 stars little wolf coffee: ok, kind of cold (maybe this is due to being a pour over) Strawberry lemonade: this was a joke...it was pink colored water...not even a slight hint of lemony zing. Skip the drinks...pricey and disappointing

Yelp
This place is so very cute, I love it! We'd just arrived in the Boston/Cambridge area and started looking for places to eat at and Clover seemed very charming. The folks working here are friendly and they have really nice (hipster) coffee. We tried their Mezze platter, a warm and hearty Tomato Basil Soup, Chickpea Fritter Sandwich, and their Fries which were so very delicious and great to look at. Everything was fresh and delicious. The glass windows with inscriptions describing what occupied the building before Clover in the century past was a really nice touch in the face of criticisms against gentrification. It's a pity I don't live in Cambridge because I know I'll spend inordinate amounts of time in this place if I did. Solid 5/5.

Yelp
This clover location is awesome. First, there are two pinball machines. Second, there is BEER. Third, they frequently have menu items they are testing that you can try out. Downside? There are entrances in both rooms and no curtains so it gets tons of frigid gusts of air in the winter. I tried the peanut soup (a flavor they are testing) which was rich, a little spicy, and very flavorful. I also tried the kale salad which was fresh and flavorful, but I had a bit of a problem with how slimy the butternut squash was. There are big, beautiful wooden tables in here and free WiFi (just ask for the password) so it's an excellent place to kill some time.

Yelp
It started to rain, heavy. I ducked in here. It's a casual place, caters to folks looking for a quick bite. I also believe this establishment is vegetarian, so no meat options. I got a Falafel Sandwich. The thing looks nice. Thick and colorful. Falafel, hot off the grease, dripping with a tahini dressing. Pita bread is thick, nice texture. Does its job to hold everything together. Many different ingredients, each bringing something to the party. Tahini dressing brings a needed richness. Pickles lend a crunch and saltiness. Cucumber pieces add a fresh green crunch. Peppers a red sweetness. Shredded cabbage and carrots add some nuance and color. Falafel is the main bite, crunchy exterior with soft and hot interior. The flavor comes from absorbing the dressing and acting as a conduit for the toppings, but the falafel is not a star on its own. The sandwich is greater than the sum of its parts but needs more complexity. Hot sauce would be great and might make this an addicting sandwich, rather than a satisfactory one.

Yelp
Look no further for satisfying and hearty sandwiches and platters! I love that Clover prioritizes sourcing local ingredients and provides amazing biographies of their partner farmers and craftsmen. The Sunchoke Mushroom Platter will make you feel things and you can't go wrong with any of their hand-crafted coffees (though Tandem, unequivocally the best). Download the app for a smooth and expedient pick-up experience. Can't recommend this quality local joint enough!

Yelp
We had just got into town and this place was a few minutes down the street from where we were staying. It's a nice place located at a corner with an open design with lots of light, despite the overcast day. There were already a number of people there on a Friday at around 1 pm and most of the seats were filled. There's a guy by the menu who will be happy to take your order and answer any questions. My husband and I are vegetarian but we don't consume anything in the allium family but according to the dude on duty, pretty much everything could be made without onions or garlic. After some discussion, we decided on the fried oyster Mushroom sandwich and the egg and Eggplant sandwich. I also got the carrot soda just because it sounded intriguing and a coffee for Hubby. Everything is made pretty much to order (there are wait times for each item on the menu that constantly changes) and you'll pick them up when ready. The drinks were ready first, then the mushroom, and then the Eggplant. Everything is self serve and you find your own seats. There's this awesome, wooden communal table that runs across the main dining area. The Mushroom sandwich was pretty big - half of it stuffed full of kale and the other half with the fried mushrooms. It was quite satisfying and the mushrooms themselves were well seasoned. I liked it quite a bit and I guess I can forgive the $10.75 price tag. The Eggplant seemed to be fried as well. It was also rather messy but the flavors were nice. My only thing: it may not have been completely onion/garlic-free as it contained hummus which almost always uses garlic unless I make it myself. The carrot soda was essentially lightly sweetened carbonated water and carrot juice. Not bad, but I could have made it myself. I liked it well enough though! End verdict: I loved Clover. Staff/service was great, the atmosphere was good, and the food was delicious! I just wish they knew the ingredients of every component to their food. Oh, and the toilet in the bathroom closest to the self serve station wasn't really working... I'll probably return to get their rosemary fries.
google avatar

Yelp
I tried the limited time pushpir sandwich and wasn't the greatest fan. The sandwich tasted mostly like pickled onions and they skimped on the chickpeas. I'm sure there were other items on the menu that I may enjoy more, but the high price of some of the sandwiches make it so that I don't think it would be worth it for me to try again.

Yelp
Ok. I am officially obsessed with Clover. Not even regular obsess. Always have a great experience here food wise. Peeps are always friendly and nice. Make me feel very happy to eat here. Discover the bestest thing ever: blue oyster mushroom. Absolutely positively addicting, still thinking about this now. I'm not sure how I would function once the item is no longer in season, but I'm sure they will find something else to make me happy. Rosemary fries are also a must have. Also must always finish in one sitting for freshness sakes. Kiwi soda is best drink ever. Cardamom soda is ok ... "interesting" Watermelon fresca is refreshing and currently not there because again everything is seasonal! It's a good thing and bad thing about the seasonal thing... like you get the best freshest ingredient but then you can't be a habit-monster like myself and always get the same damn thing that you love. I AM A FIXED ASTROLOGY SIGN DAMMIT. Well ok I think the chickpea one is always on the menu, that and the fries Hungarian beet was a good one too. Sometime they put a lil bit too much onion into it so it get intense :B Beet salad though.. not a fan. BBQ Seitan is also reliable and delicious. Soups: ok not into the curry-ish one so that's my fault for getting something I felt I totally wouldn't like. Borscht is amazing but they never ever have it do they even make it anymore can someone text me when they do because it makes me so damn happy, best soup ever. WHAT SEASON IS BORSCHT!! Peanut soup is very intense and good for those who like peanut butter. Wait time was never a big problem for me. I usually lunch here before work and there's never more than a 7 minute wait. Although sometime they get distracted and forget one my item... only sometime... ok that was once.. but it made me sad so don't do it again Clover! Anyways, always try new things here mostly you wont be disappointed. I'm very proud of myself and this establishment for getting me to try new things all the time and for always making my stomach happy.

Kathryn E.

Yelp
Usually a fine clover location. However, I am very disappointed by the tomato sandwich I had a few weeks ago. It was almost $14 after tax, and was a ton of lettuce and a tiny bruised and scarred piece of tomato (see photos). I reached out about it over the app but haven't heard back.

Yelp
My rare 5/5 review. Clover is an environmentally conscious, local/organically sourced establishment, with a very particular thought in crafting their dishes. The chickpea fritter sandwich is a 4.5/5. I'm a meat-eater, but this vegetarian sandwich was amazing. It's stuffed with carrots, red cabbage that's pickled, which the same and even julienne cuts from both vegetables adds a great element of texture. This texture is contrasted by the soft pita. The sauce and the fritter is also just as amazing. The only improvement that I would add (and the reason why it's a 4.5) is that the pita wasn't very soft and moist. The texture AND temperature difference--cold and crunchy vegetable with warm and soft pita--could really elevate it to the next level. I ate my sandwich right when it was handed to me. The extra .5 comes from the customer service, because they were very knowledgeable about the ingredients, the overall mission of clover, and very passionate about their food. Great teamwork.

Yelp
Yooooo. So fresh. So good. This is a vegetarian's Mecca. Came through via local word-of-mouth recommendation from the venue my band was playing at across the street from Clover. And it made my day (which is saying a lot cause we were in a van for 11 hours). Ingredients are fresh, local, delicious. They blend rich yet subtle flavors seamlessly in their unique side salads. They were great at creating salads that actually highlight the natural flavors of each ingredient. The platters were properly priced and a great size. Just enough to feel quite full but also still feel good about your health. I went for the chickpea fritter platter, which is essentially little mini falafel-like balls atop a bed of creamy spiced hummus, pickled carrots, cucumber/tomato salad, with two side salads (I got the pickled beet & cashew salad and the Israeli lentil salad). The miniature size of the chickpea fritters made them perfectly crisp, yet just moist enough inside, unlike some larger falafel that tends to be dry in the center. It's wildly refreshing to eat out at an affordable price, and to enjoy crafted dishes that really highlight and amplify the natural flavors of each component. Hit this place up!

Yelp
His place is great for a quick lunch pick up! I got the chickpea sandwich. The felafel pieces were warm but the rest of the sandwich was cold like the pickled radish and cabbage. I am not a vegetarian but it has a great selection of sandwiches. Note that the menu screens are electronic and show the waiting time to expect.

Yelp
I go to clover frequently when I'm in the area for lunch. There are multiple locations around the Boston area, and I have been to this one and the one in Burlington MA. There are a couple of sandwiches and food items I like here. The classic breakfast sandwich is one of my favorites. It is simple and has a nice flavor when you bite into the soft boiled egg in the muffin. I also really like the chickpea fritter sandwich, the impossible meatball sandwich and the egg and eggplant sandwich. The sandwiches are usually fresh and healthy. Go to clover at central square for having interesting sandwiches, and for a quick lunch/breakfast, to catch up with friends. Might not be a bad place for a date, if your intention is to grab a quick bite and a cocktail later across the street. I'm taking off one star for the price, some of the sandwiches, while good, aren't worth the price ($13.87 for the impossible meatball sandwich; I'd rather pay that to have a real meatball sandwich) or $8.87 for some of the other sandwiches.

Yelp
This was my second time at a Clover restaurant and my second time trying the egg and eggplant sandwich. This time, I opted to just get it as-is; Last time I got the tahini sauce on the side. I think I actually prefer the Tahini sauce on the side and dipping my sandwich in it. Is that weird? Okay anyways, back to Clover. There was a lot of seating available,e which is always a good thing. The workers were nice and I was helped within a decent amount of time. I just wasn't blown away, ya know?

Yelp
The Clover on Central has always been my go-to while in the area. The location and hours of operation 24/7 are very convenient, and the food quality has also been very good. The benefits to a smaller open kitchen is that you always get your food hot. As soon as your order is done, they reach out over the counter and give you your food. Yes, their menu may be limited, but do your research prior to going. This is one of the many reasons why most restaurants have social feeds, online menus, and it is also one of the many reasons we have Yelp! They stay up to date with their social media feeds, and if you can't find the answers you are looking for, call ahead. If you eat light, or try to eat semi-healthy you may enjoy this place. And if your looking for a place open 24/7, you will certainly appreciate their location and hours. If this doesn't sound like something you'd enjoy, try stopping by for a coffee or tea, because it may grow on you THE GOOD * Updates social media feeds/online menus * Relaxed atmosphere open 24/7 * Great location at Central * Rosemary french fries are served hot and delicious * Clean, simple food options * Good drip coffee * There menus are always changing. If not the main item in your order, don't be surprised to see a new "side" * They serve coffee 24/7 and have ample space for working * Many food items are friendly "to-go" options, for those that have somewhere to be * They sell a few items for home like milk, eggs and a handful of other small products in a small open refrigerator. THE BAD * Many people have a love hate relationship with the menus changes * Popover sandwich was basically a hard boiled egg in a large piece of bread * The cost often outweighs the value for many customers. I don't have this issue as I usually eat many small meals a day, however those that I've talked to who dislike this place usually mention the size and portions of food in comparison to the Cost

Yelp
Save me from myself and their apple fritters. Yes their other food is good. Healthy, solid, at times in need of hot sauce. But their popovers and apples fritters are amazing. I am in town on occasion for work. When I am, the folks at the counter must question if I am a stalker. Fritters. Wait. Bring friends and eat more fritters. So five stars for fritters and popovers. Perfection! Other food is good but could use a bit more flavor. Maybe add chimichurri to the menu?

Yelp
This is the worst place I have ever been to. We came here after hitting up Middlesex for some good old fashioned dancing and wanted an order of their rosemary fries. My friend ordered fries and they said they were completely out of fries so we could not order any. My friend ordered two non vegan sandwiches so I went back to the counter to order my own vegan sandwich and I saw the person who was behind us in line originally receive an order of the fries. They said they only had one left and they gave them to the person behind us in line. This felt extremely disrespectful. I ended up having to order a chickpea fritter sandwich and it was mediocre at best. I would rather go hungry than order than sandwich again. Clover is a disgrace and I won't be coming back.

Yelp
Clover is the quintessential late night spot in Central square. Couple the fast bites and friendly staff, you've got yourself the perfect place to go after nearby attractions are long closed. Special shoutout to Manny. You're the dude! Super friendly guy and even showed me a picture of what I was thinking about ordering to give me a breakdown of why it's delicious. Dope.

Yelp
Food: only the fries are tasty. the salads are gimmicky and blandly flavored. Ambience: hipster, plenty of group seating, not private for small groups, excellent window lighting if you want to study (?) Service: helpful and fast

Yelp
Ordered: lavender lemonade, Rosemary fries, chickpea platter, chickpea sandwich SERVICE: The servers here are knowledgable about the products and foodstuffs that they serve. That is certain, but both times I went, there was an issue with the order. The first time, they forgot to include Rosemary fries with the order. The second time, they gave someone's order to the wrong person and then had to give our order to that someone. They did compensate by including a free drink, but I would have preferred a lesser wait time to a free drink. FOOD: The food was filling, flavorful, and fresh. Certainly a great option for those who don't eat meat, value vegetarian options, or want less processed food. The chickpea platter was great, and the yogurt sauce was very balanced. The Potato and corn salad was my favorite part of the platter and was very well made. The Parmesan fries were also very good. Perfect amount of salt, and the Rosemary was very inventive and appreciated

Yelp
24 hour location with rotating menu throughout the day. Recommend their popover breakfast sandwich
