I had an amazing experience at Clover! The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making my food and ensuring a pleasant experience. Shout out to Adam and Sarah who helped me today. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The food was absolutely fantastic — fresh, flavorful, and creatively prepared. I’m trying to reduce my meat consumption and this is one of the only places that is meatless and delicious. My meal was a delightful combination of healthy ingredients and bold taste. It’s clear that Clover puts a lot of care into both quality and presentation. Overall, a wonderful spot for a satisfying, wholesome meal with top-notch service. I can’t wait to come back!

I love this place. Very convenient location. It is clean and has a modern and inviting design. The service is amazing. The food is delicious. We usually take out for lunch the Chickpea Fritter either as a platter (which comes with a nice and tasty variety of salads) or as a pita sandwich. We also tried and liked the falafel skewers with humus and the French fries with rosemary.

This store is about 2 blocks from my office and I find myself over there at least 2 times a week. The offerings themselves, which are varied and excellent, the staff, and the physical environment are all perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch. As an architect, I appreciate the layout of the store, which is congenial and encourages communication with others.

There's not a lot of sustainable food options, I get what they're doing and commend them. It's a little more than I'd like to spend for it unfortunately. I'm aware sustainable environmentally conscious options are going to cost more regardless, I'm just not as in love with the food as I feel I should be for the price, like even simple fries are a bit much and they're nothing wow. It's not bad, it's just nothing special enough to eat at unless you are specifically looking for sustainable food options to feel less guilty eating, in which case, you'll probably eat here often.

Really excellent tea! I got the enchanted green tea. They don’t leave the tea bag to languish in your cup, but steep it for you, and then give you your tea! The cookies were great texture-wise, and had lots of chocolate chips. I couldn’t tell if there was more brown sugar than I’m used to, or if they don’t use butter, or what it was, but there was something in the taste that wasn’t my fav. The texture was perfect though! They have a great selection of spindrifts and Natalie’s juice and nuts and grain bowls and such. Easily accessible. Lots of seating. I appreciated the board games too :-). They use George Howell coffee (that’s what I used in my cafe back when I had my own). The tea I got looked like it said “Athens” was the brand, but I can’t find that brand online. It was a really unique, almost Smokey, but just grounded enough to be delicous green tea. I enjoyed it!

Long-time fans of the Clover format and focus on clean, local, veggie food. The Newtonville branch expands this with desserts and takeaway food, along with an espresso bar. Fairly crowded at lunch. Good natural light, open kitchen, use of the projector to show new drinks and specials. Try the impossible meatball!

The Mediterranean bowl ‘should have’ been excellent. Instead it was a glompy collection of Mediterranean foods that really didn’t play well. Too much of too many heavy handed sauces, dips, etc. would not recommend.

Very fresh and flavorful. We got the chickpea fritter sandwich, the panelle, the fries, and hummus. The sandwiches come in a soft pita. The slaws in both were marinated so well and added a perfect crunch. Get the fries. I ate them all because they came out hot... so I forgot to take a picture. Just get them.

I'm unsure why this location has such low ratings/reviews. I stopped by Clover for a healthier lazy Sunday dinner and I'm glad I did. Fries with Rosemary were hot and fresh. The crispy chix (plant-based) sandwich was also good. Service was good, and the staff had a great playlist playing in the background. Clover will be added back into my lunch/dinner rotation.

Came here for lunch and got the Japanese sweet potato platter. The sweet potato was crispy and delicious, although a bit expensive for the amount of food. I also got a crispy chicken sandwich to eat later. This sandwich was the real standout and I highly recommend it. The interior is clean and inviting. There are even board games and free water refill. It's obvious that they want this to be a place you can eat and mingle for a while. I feel clover is always a little pricier but the food is always healthy and delicious. Always a solid option mainly for lunch.

Love Clover and have had great experiences in their Harvard Square and Central Square locations. But this is a review of just this Newtonville location. I ordered the mushroom popper platter. The mushrooms and salad tasted nice. But the sweet potato side tasted rancid, and the farro salad side tasted bland and had a gross flavor. I stopped eating those right away but had an upset stomach the next morning. Normally instead of jumping to write a bad review, I'd reach out to management to see if they could fix the issue going forward. But given my symptoms, and the fact they the reviews note that they don't get back to emails, I am sadly writing this.

The clover rice and bean bowl with plantains and accompaniments is one of my favorite bowls around! Paired with their lemon rosemary seltzer with a touch of their ginger syrup, and it's a perfect lunch. Grab some hot sauce on the way out to kick it up a notch and you're good to go!!

Food is flavorful and good. Lots of salt and spices. Portion sizes are very small, never enough to be filling. Service is friendly and quick. I'd call the atmosphere warm industrial. Fun vibe but not cozy.

I was hungry and based on the reviews about small portions. Ordered buffalo chicken platter and large roman tomato soup. The soup was good and flavorful, once the skin was broken up by stirring. The platter was really small. The "chicken" was 5 sticks slathered with sauce on a bed of lettuce, large pieces of cabbage, tomatoes and everything seemed pickled. The farro and chickpeas portions were a tease of a serving that was bland. I feel like Clover is trying to do all the right things and be the vegan/vegetarian place but it missed the mark with portions, value and flavor.

Always love trying creative food spots, especially with vegetarian options. To go I had: Impossible Meatball Sandwich (I liked, my father said better than real meatball) The Crispy Chicken (tender) Sandwich (I loved the sauce and everything about this) Side of Falafel (good) Chocolate chip cookies (great)

We purchased 4 cold drinks and 1 hot one plus 3 cookies. The cold ones were ordered without ice. All 4 drinks were served half full...for the price it is totally unacceptable! When we asked, we were told that is the amount of liquid you would get if you got ice. The quality of the drink didn't make up for the quantity of the drink and the service certainly didn't help.

Casual setting that offers vegetarian food with compostable material! Highly recommend.

Capitalizing on diners' increasing interest on high quality, made-to-order fast casual cuisine, Clover Food Lab offers plenty of vegan dishes inspired by Middle Eastern recipes using local ingredients for those with dietary preferences as well as those who aren't exclusively vegetarian but want to enjoy the unique dishes featured here that aren't available at most suburban restaurants in a very casual ambiance. The service is very good with staff that's very knowledgeable about the menu. After placing your order at the counter from the menu that features thoughtfully-curated bowls, sandwiches, and soups, grab a seat along the small counter facing the kitchen or at a handful of tables in the dining area. In full disclosure, I'm an omnivore -- not a vegan or vegetarian -- but I enjoy vegetarian meals from time to time as a healthy option. My dining companion and I both opted for the Mediterranean Bowl ($13), comprised of several falafel balls served on top of a bed of hummus with lemon-dill farro, chickpea eggplant pepper salad, cucumber tomato salad, and a garnish of pickled cabbage. Our bowls were freshly prepared and both of us thought they were very tasty. We will definitely be back! Pro Tip: There is a small parking lot adjacent to the building and there is plenty of on-street parking off Washington Street, but beware of the 'No Parking' or 'Postal Vehicles Only' signs.

I have been a fan of Clover since the food truck days and this is a nice location. We've been here several times. This location also has a coffee bar so it has a lounge seating area other clovers don't have in addition to the usual booths and long wooden table. There is outdoor seating which is a great bonus. Service has always been good when we've come here. Clover is great seasonal food. But because it is seasonal, sometimes they aren't serving things I am interested in. Today however I had the potato pesto egg sandwich and it was delicious. This clover has a lot and nearby street parking.

I love clover's food, and the food at this location was just as good. Popover bfast sandwich = yummmmmm. Some of the staff were nice and helpful, but some were rude. They messed up two items for our party of 5, and one of the staff acted like she was doing us a favor correcting them. Rude and dismissive, treated us like asking for the items to be remedied was our way of trying to get free food. Also, it is said that the cleanliness of a restaurant bathroom is an indicator of the cleanliness of that restaurants kitchen. I certainly hope that's not true in this case, bc the bathroom was very yuck, in a quiet Sunday morning when the staff outnumbered the customers...

I came here for the first time, and had a wonderful time in this Mediterranean fast casual (but delicious) chain restaurant! Service: Extremely friendly service. Staff are knowledgeable about the food, and it is helpful they can show you the pictures of the food on the screens available. You also don't always have to wait to get to the counter to order as some staff carry around tablets to order your food while in line. A+ service. Ambiance: Fast casual vibe in a clean, trendy restaurant with better-than-average food. Smells delicious all around, too! Food: As a vegetarian, this place is incredible! -The chickpea fritter platter was a standout dish that showcases the restaurant's commitment to fresh and healthy ingredients. The fritters were light and crispy on the outside with a soft and flavorful center. The seasoning is just right, adding a perfect amount of spice without overpowering the dish. I enjoyed all the sides it was served with, including a delightful, creamy hummus, various pickled vegetables, and a refreshing cucumber/tomato salad served with some warm pita bread. -Rosemary fries: They were well seasoned but not crispy unfortunately. Overall, great dining experience with food and service, and would be excited to return, especially to try some of their ongoing specials.

cool place and love that all of their food is vegetarian. got the potato pesto sandwich and it was delish but definitely very messy and a little expensive. yum tho

Delicious and fresh, creative soups, salads, and sandwiches. Do yourself a favor and order some hibiscus iced tea and a whoopie pie if they have it!

The staff was very rude. Most food was ready and they rudely told us we couldn't have anything until all was ready for organizational purposes! The place was empty and the staff member was also rude to another customer

I'm a huge fan of Clover, and have been frequenting their various locations for years. I was so excited for the new location in Newton and have been able to try a few faves and some new-to-me offerings on the menu as well. The blue oyster mushroom sandwich they have right now is out of this world! I enjoy both the breakfast and lunch offerings and their coffee is also excellent. The staff at this location have been consistently helpful and friendly as well.

When I first came into clover I was a little unsure of what to order. The employees were super helpful and gave great recommendations. I ended up getting the chickpea fritter on a pita which was delicious! My meal was around $14 although I did get a drink. The ingredients seemed super fresh and high quality as well as nutritious. Their ice tea is really really good too and they had a whole coffee bar. I want to try the other meals they offer. Inside it is super modern and fun. There is lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I would even bring my computer or a book and get some work done. Overall great vibes, great food, and will definitely be coming back.

So good! I love everything about this place - the food, the service, the people, the vibe, and, above all, the general feel-good mission and community-based approach. Clover quickly rose to my favorite local spot to pop into for a quick bite. Faves are the BLT, the Zucchini (seasonal and so, so tasty), Verde Rice & Bean Bowl, and the Falafel (sandwich or bowl). That said, everything is so fresh, creative, and delish - you can't go wrong. Shout out to Adam for offering a romesco sauce sample - holy moly is it good. Been thinking about it ever since.. heading over now to try the Romesco Bowl! :-)

Amazing vegetarian meal at Clover! Beautiful location with some creative and delicious food. You would never guess the impossible meatballs were vegetarian. The staff was incredible. Specially Joe who walked us through the menu and shared some of his favorites. All around a really great experience. Come eat here!

Been wanting to try for some time. I got the rosemary fries and vegan squash and white bean soup. It was really hearty and tasty. My friend got the humus and falafel platter, looked good. What I was really impressed with is at the menu, you can have a discussion with counter person, he'll pull up what you want, a picture pulls up with descriptions and any add-ons. My two sides, platter with specialty soda and free water $35 This place is vegetarian, but has lots of vegan options. Need to maneuver this menu accordingly.

I went there to meet a friend for coffee and had horrible service. I wasn't sure where to order the coffee because it's not near the area where you order but in another corner with nobody present. The manager was not friendly or helpful, rather ordered to go stand near the area where I order food and someone would help me when they were ready. I took someone else's coffee by accident, and the manager seemed very angry. He came and let me know, and when I offered to return the coffee, he told me that he would just bring me another one. He came angrily, and put the other down on the table and said nothing to me, despite me apologzing. When I left, I said "goodbye" and waived, nobody was around and he ignored me and just seemed extremely angry. I wrote to the company email and it's been over two weeks and there has been no response.

I really want to like Clover, but the energy of this space makes me ill. I get so much anxiety after eating here. Food is a shadow of what it was when Clover was a food truck. The love is not there.

Met friends for a light lunch - space is great, plenty of seating inside and out. Plenty of parking in the back. Friend had falafel which she said was very good. I had the rosemary fries which were pretty good. Coffee was good too, but the blueberry muffin was bad. Small, dry, mealy, weird tasting. I'd go back to try other things but not the muffin!

The food is alright - but not great. It was surprising that not everything is vegan. The Newton location was dingy and dirty.

Food was very affordable and very good. It was made incredibly quickly but didn't feel like typical fast food. The inside is very clean and modern. Thanks for the free fry promo!

This was my second time visiting Clover this week for the Chickpea Fritter Wrap. The food is always freshly prepared and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I also liked the Strawberry Lemonade and the Blueberry Lemonade. Bonus: They also have George Howell coffee! Outdoor seating is also available.

TLDR: get the popover breakfast sandwich for the best fast food you may ever have eaten. Each new location we have seen Clover add seems to outdo the ambiance of the last, and hopefully will continue to keep the high bar set for quality if they expand beyond the greater Boston area. This is the kind of chain that feels like it could pull a starbucks and define a category once people get exposure to it. They've struck the right balance between hipster foodie and systematization. Specifics: - The cortado with oat milk requires no sweetener for even someone accustomed to chain coffee with pumps of mysterious syrups, it's just done that well. - The popover sandwich is just so good that it justifies the spartanly simple menu - The olive oil cake is a great not-too-sweet-dessert

We have enjoyed this restaurant previously, so this visit was a surprise. We ordered our food to eat at the restaurant, and a half hour later, they still had not started to make our order. There was no reason given and almost no apology. We canceled our order and went to another restaurant. The interesting thing is that the staff did not even seem to care that we left. They did reimburse us for the bill. I doubt that we will ever go there again; this was a very negative experience.

The last two times I got takeout from Clover in Newtonville, the portions were noticeably much smaller than in the past. The second time I was curious enough about it that I brought the sandwich and fries home, weighed them, and compared the results to the advertised serving sizes in their app. The sandwich was 9% short, and the fries were *** 31% short ***. I emailed Clover twice and asked what was going on. I know they received my emails because I got back auto-responses telling me they had received them and would respond in 5-7 days. They never responded either time. I suspect that they are cutting portion sizes as a cost-cutting move (they are in chapter 11 bankruptcy right now). It's deceptive to be advertising serving sizes that are significantly larger than reality. It's kind of rude to reduce serving sizes without being proactively transparent about it; Clover certainly wouldn't be the first company to do that, but it does seem to go against their claimed culture. And it's _really_ rude not to respond to customer emails asking why their serving sizes seem much smaller.

LOVE the hummus and rainbow carrots, tomato soup, rosemary fries and cannot to try new things. Love the fresh seltzers and that there are choices from no sugar (rosemary lemon, yum!) to some sugared ones. The folks like Adam are really nice at this location!

My boyfriend is a vegetarian, I however am not. We often struggle to find something that covers both of our needs when eating take out. Clover Food Lab has tons of options, and while some of the veggie dishes may seem a bit outlandish to meat eaters like myself at first glance, once you take that first bite all your questions will be answered. To start, we love the coffee and house made sodas!! The vanilla soda is delicious and something we order every time we visit now. The coffee is strong and bold, to my liking, and they have interesting and delicious flavor options to spice up your morning cup of life. Now the food, I absolutely love their French onion soup! It's made with Veg. Stock rather than beef stock, and I promise you won't even notice the difference. The onions were delicious, accompanied by a large serving of bread as well. We love the chickpea fritters, either on their own or with the assorted goodness that comes on the plate! They're current if testing Nashville Hot Fries, they come seasoned and with a few pickle chips along the top to cool down the heat. They're delicious and I hope they stay on the menu, as I order them every time now!!

Always good. Fast and healthy. They've helped me lower my cholesterol! New menu items regularly.

This is a great place for a quick, tasty, filling meal! I'm not someone who usually picks a veggie option but Clover does a great job with their offerings- so good even a meat lover would eat here. The chickpea fritter platter w/ greens gives you a little bit of everything and the salad that comes with it is delicious!

4/5...8/10 Food was absolutely delicious. But if you want to know the ingredients in any thing that they serve be prepared to chat with the person at the front for a long time. It was my first time here and I felt bad asking about what's in this and that because everything in their menu says a cryptic word about what it's supposed to be. and their lack of an online menu is a problem. Corn chowder...10/10 i love seafood and was absolutely totally SHOCKED because there's no seafood!! and it was sooo good this. totally recommend Chickpea main as a plate...9/10 very good i like most of their food as plates instead of sandwiches for the reason below. Tofu zucchini sandwich 6/10 my friend loved the flavors but it was so soggy that it looked like it had been dunked repeatedly in a puddle. Gaspacho...7/10 very good but they blend it so it's smooth so don't get thrown off Vanilla soda...9.5/10 don't sleep on their sodas they were so good and homemade.

Tasty vegetarian food. Lots of options. Creative. More family, seating would be ideal.

I expected more from clover labs. The staff was great - friendly and helpful - they get 5 stars. This was first time I visited Clover Labs. Coffee was wonderful. I ordered a breakfast popover to go and was very dissapointed with it. The popover itself was close to being burnt and did not taste fresh. Was not worth the $6.00 I paid for it. I should have checked it before going leaving, but had no reason to believe that it wouldn't be anything except excellent as Clover labs has a good reputation. While I was not impressed with the food that day, I was impressed with the staff. I will be back again to try something new.

I've eaten at Clover in Burlington and ordered the same platter here; eggplant and egg. I loved everything except the eggplant. Maybe it was prepared differently? It was so salty that neither my husband or I could eat it. I had to toss it in the garbage.

Love that this clover is here in Newton. This is our go to place for a quick but delicious and healthy meal anytime of the day. George Howell coffee and breakfast sandwhiches/oatmeal/muffins. Sandwhiches with soft pita, seasonal ingredients and soups. Brownies are really good too. Nice big space with indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking behind restaurant.

Clover food lab recently opened in Newton and I was thrilled! In the past couple weeks I have been 3 times and got to try different menu items. While I don't often eat vegetarian food, I really enjoyed the BLT and the meatballs! The mezze platter is also awesome, and the pitas are warm And tasty. The team is nice and the place is super clean. There is some outdoor seating, and ordering is easy! Bonus is that there is a George Howell coffee counter inside!

I love this new location it's gorgeous with places to hang out outside and enjoy the food and the sun. Highly recommend the impossible meatball sandwich which is vegetarian but tastes like the real deal and sometimes somehow better.

I have been a LONG time fan of Clover and missed them as Covid left me stuck in the burbs. When Clover finally opened in my neighborhood and with a GH coffee bar to boot I knew it would become a staple for all my healthy meals. The last few times I have been in there KEVIN has been a standout - always patient, helpful and personable with every customer. He makes Clover comfortable and a neighborhood place - a keeper!

Wow the staff here at the Newtonville Clover are fantastic and make my experience wonderful! Joe always goes out of his way to make my meal special. love the vibes with the plants and chill music. The food is a fun reimagining of veg cuisine conveniently packaged in sandwich form - the seasonal specials and house-made sodas are must tries!

The food is very tasty and the service is quick and super friendly. I think many people would be surprised at the nutritional information for most of the offerings though... especially the INSANELY high levels of sodium in many of the menu items. What's up with that???

We came for the seasonal asparagus breakfast sandwich. No wait, but it would have been worth the wait! The asparagus, advertised as from Hadley, MA, is DELICIOUS. If you like the asparagus you get in the grocery store your tastebuds will thank you for this local variety. We also could not resist a popover - with carrot compote. Yum! With a side of George Howell coffee this was the perfect breakfast.

Vegetarian and vegan food that is creative and consistently excellent. Food that is fast with the best attributes of fast food and without suffering from the downsides of fast food. I get food from Clover whenever I can
