I had the good fortune of being invited as a guest to dine at Club 33; to call it a dream come true is putting it lightly!
Club 33 was initially established as a private club for Walt Disney to entertain, and wine & dine, his contemporaries in 1967; it is a private, members-only club situated on top of New Orleans square, and certainly doesn't lack any Disney magic! Featuring Disney-related art, pieces of Disney history throughout (including one of the first animatronic birds, Alfred) details like monogrammed napkins, and beautiful French-country decor that's sure to wow any Disney fanatic, it's not an experience I'll soon forget!
The service was friendly, attentive, and well-paced. It's the little things - they hold the doors for you, pull out your chair, and even lay out your dinner napkin. They leave you wanting for nothing! I certainly felt like a princess for a day! Shout out to our attentive and kind server Matt who treated us to a delightful dessert wine!
We dined in Le Grand Salon, which overlooks New Orlean's square. The Club was featuring a Masquerade-theme to celebrate Halloween season, and is celebrating its 55th Emerald Anniversary - a fact I wasn't aware of when choosing my dark green dress, but turned out to be a happy coincidence.
The menu is prix fixe and changes by season. They have a great drink menu, and wine list, and feature recommended pairings for the various courses.
I enjoyed the Sautéed Diver Scallop with Warm Heirloom tomato vinaigrette, Club Caprese salad, Tagliatelle pasta, and Coconut Coffee Vegan cheesecake with coffee caramel, and cashew crunch. The cheesecake was fantastic!
I do wish I had tried the fish or the steak as my main, as the pasta didn't quite do it for me seasoning-wise, but not enough to dock any stars from my overall experience.
To drink I had the Clover Club with gin, raspberry, lemon, and simple meringue - it was perfectly balanced between sweet, tart, and bitter! Definitely worth a try!
If you ever have the opportunity to dine at Club 33, despite the steep-cost, it's definitely a worthwhile, and priceless experience!
