Club Tempo

While not my usual cup of tea, I was here yesterday evening to meet up with members from a suit and tie Facebook men's group. As I arrived a little after 8 pm on a Saturday night, there was no cover charge but was told later by someone that they paid $10 cash to enter. The entire establishment is cash only but there is an ATM machine on each floor. There are also multiple restrooms on both floors as well. Unlike other reviewers, I found the bathrooms to be clean but this was just after they opened. The stairway to the second floor does not open until 9 pm and the upstairs patio taco place a little after that. This second floor patio has plenty of seating but on a chilly February evening there were no heat lamps present. There were, though, ash trays on the tables so I assume smoking was permitted. The little patio tacos that the nice older lady sells are $2 each; I enjoyed four of them - yum! :-) I cannot speak to the quality of their spirits as I didn't purchase any. What staff and patrons I encountered here were pleasant including the bouncer at the door and the security guard who patted me down at the entrance to check for weapons. There is a coat check station that is $3 to utilize. There are dance floors and and bar tenders on each level playing different music so if you don't like one, go check out the other. The second floor is larger and more modern with more seating but if you encounter long restroom lines, try the downstairs with less wait. This gay club's clientele are Spanish speaking cowboys. By the time I departed at 11 pm, it was crowded everywhere. I probably won't return here but only because it's not to my personal tastes for I don't frequent loud dance clubs nor imbibe alcohol . I have no complaints about my experience here but if you want to hold a conversation, your least noisy option is the patio furthest from the exits or the parking lot. This business appears to be doing a good job at serving its intended clientele. Hope this is helpful.

This place is the cutest. Great music, there’s a live music band playing ranchero songs with all the cowboys dancing downstairs, plus two other dance floors. Upstairs there’s a big outdoor area with tacos and stuff and a lil bar and another dance floor and amazing drag performances as well. Anyway. Just good things about this place. You can also get a 3/4 beer for 12 bucks.

Hello!!! I would like to express my position about this Tempo club. I have been visiting this club for 2 years, I really like the atmosphere of all employees who work tempo, including security in general, great respect!!! And of course I would like to listen to new good tracks... I wish you a good mood and positive 🤞

Every thing is wrong at Tempo. I remember when Tempo was #1at everything especially the Music 🎶. Now it just a joke and no one has the knowledge of music 💔 🎶 I wish Tempo can react before is too late and become just a lost . Memory in time. Please 🙏 change the sound of music on tip on Sunday from 3pm an8pm and if you can change DJ after the mariachi. Thank you Long time guest since Tempo was open....

First of all. Tempo lives in a period of time where Latinos couldn't afford to even pay its fare to ge tin. What is going on with the UNNECESSARY ONLY CASH RULE??? Why can't they get adapt to the times and adopt CREDIT CARDS, WBT, APPE PAY, WIFI FOR NEW MILLENNIUM SAKE. MOVIE PEOPEL AT A TICKET STAND FOR A SUNDAY FILM, $7, show more respect for its customers than the lady at the ticket stand. SHE BLUNTLY, with no sings anywhere , tells customers to get cash. The funny part is that there's no communication where the cash can be drawn, SO THIS PEOPE ARE ALREADY TREATING YOU, as if you're supposed to know where to go . LIKE AN UNDERGROUND BAR THAT HAPPENS TO be at 10pm. ONCE INSIDE, again. BARTENDERS ONLY TAKE CASH, good people outside the patio only take cash. WHAT IS THE PHILOSOPHY IF THIS PLACE? Let's not adapt to the modern times cause is easier ???

this nightclub has been around a long time. They have plenty of space for special events and a wonderful dance floor. Sometimes they might use the upstairs. I haven't been there in a while. I hope to check it out. I didn't speak Spanish when I first went there, but it's wonderful to watch Latin dance, and, just get to know the crowd they're very kind. You just get on the dance floor and have a fun time. Have a few drinks. And enjoy the view lol.

Bottom line Sometimes Tempo makes you feel like you just got fleeced and sometimes you feel like you're in the right place at the right time. We only go on Sundays from about 5pm to 8pm. When it's good, it's very good. Packed with good-time party people, with amazing music on three separate dance floors. But Tempo is often dead as a doornail. You just never know until you've already paid a sizable amount just to get in. The Pros Sunday is their biggest day of the week. There's a drag show upstairs, followed by a gay mariachi band. There are usually two or three go-go dancers too. On rare occasions, they add a DJ and dance area to the outdoor rooftop deck. After the upstairs shows end, they open the downstairs cowboy dance floor. And if there's a particularly big crowd, they'll also open the downstairs disco. When the whole place is firing on all pistons, it's pretty fun. The Cons The cover charge varies dramatically from week to week (it can be $8 one week and $18 the next). And their onsite parking (super convenient if you arrive early enough to get a space) is $11. For two people, including parking, it can total anywhere between $28 and $48 just to get in the door. That's a lot considering comparable bars have no cover at all. They don't post the daily cover charge online, and they refuse to tell you what it is over the phone (and they're pretty rude when you call to enquire). The price doesn't seem connected to the featured talent/entertainment (it's the same lineup every week). So the variable pricing doesn't makes any sense. Drinks are a little overpriced, and don't bother with a mixed cocktail. They're usually pretty terrible.

This gay friendly club have good music and three dance floors but is the most old and third world club in Hollywood. This place appears as if it has never been renovated and they charge you in cash. Bathrooms stink and you can barely find a place to dance. No idea porque este lugar está lleno es un lugar muy viejo donde renovaciones nunca han hecho y donde los baños tienen mal olor y donde te cobran en efectivo y donde no puedes bailar. No es un lugar donde regresará. Lo único agradable es la música y la raza Latina que vienen a este lugar.

Tuve el gusto de celebrar mi cumpleaños en el club y el personal que me ayudo en la organización fue fabuloso! Fernando el bar tender, Eleno bar tender, Raul el taquero y el mesero el cubanito nos brindaron un buen servicio y todos fueron uy amables y su Comida deliciosa, ¡mis felicitaciones para todo el servicio y al resto del personal! La musica y el show muy agradable, mi fiesta de mis 50 fue inolvidable por el ambiente tan moderno y sus bailarines muy amables deseo agradecer a todos los involucrados en la preparación y los reconocimiento para sus fiestas de cumpleaños gracias a todos por su excelente servicio y amabilidad principalmente a FERNÁNDO, tuve una excelente fiesta gracias Atte. Me and my friends went this Saturday night February 18, 2023 And the music upstairs was awful. Did you guys hire a new DJ ? You really need to invest in hiring someone that knows what music is in and what music we that go to tiempo every weekend like, because Saturdays music was off and not the regular music that you play. And thanks for opening the 3rd bar that did help Thank you A regular Ps. The bathrooms are looking great !

$17 cover? A ridiculous price for this club. Don't recommend. Extremely overpriced compared to comparable clubs or better.

The place smells like pee. There was a change in ownership about 3 years ago and no improvements have been made.

A place Where you can be Who You are with no fear Or fear be judged by others. A place Where you can dance, hug, kiss And keep moving until they stop the Music. I recommend this place 100%. The latino atmosphere Is eclectic and the variety of latinos that go there. The "vaquero" style depicts the Best of Men At this club, elegant, sensual, happy and energetic. Lets go Tempo!!! Honestly it's not my favorite place to go out and spent my money. Bartenders over charge you. When we got to the place the beer was $3 after that went to $7. After that I try to get a miller light the price went to $10 fuck this bull shit

I recommend this club cuz is really nice , good ambience , all the the employees is really kindness, thoughtful , very respectful & most specially the guards is very friendly & lovelabke .

I was here last Sunday, definitely had a blast. Big crowd, all dance floors were open. However, the cover $15 is way too much. This place needs to be remodeled. I so wish Arena/Circus was still around. Also, this place is aware they are too expensive for the fact they only accept CASH. Their hiding their expenses from the government. Also, the guard touches you all over to see if you're taking anything but seriously touch my bulge and ass. I felt violated.

Overpriced for Saturday not to mention the drinks are watered down ordered a vodka tonic and even the waiter admitted it was not worth it. This use to be the best Latino bar after circus - Arena closed but after covid it's going down. This place needs to remodel if your charging $15 dance floor and chairs upstairs are outdated.

I been coming for years. Don't get me wrong, when the nights good, it gets really good! But a cover charge of $15-$20? The place is run down, it's never been remodeled. The drinks, unless you buy beer, drinks are weak. And the bartender upstairs, the older dark one, makes the drinks with his back towards you. He never makes them in front of you. I try to go at least every other month, only because I know I'll be dropping $200. It's expensive and not all worth it. Either get rid of the cover charge, or sell cheaper drinks. You can't have it both ways!

Nice place. You can either stay outside in the patio or inside where you'll listen to nightclub music and see drag shows. It's great to see a gay place that is not filled with West Hollywood standard looking gays. The drinks are not strong but affordable. One waiter have a terrible attitude and pretends you're not there for as long as he can. Predominantly latino attendance.

Recently remodeled bathrooms. Looks great. Always fun here. The only suggestion I would have is that I wish they would add more recent reggaeton and hip hop music in the first floor right by the entrance.

A dive in a strip mall. $10 to park in the strip mall parking lot and $8 cover fee. Dirty. You have to get frisked for weapons before you can get in, which kind of says a lot of their clientele. Was meeting friends or I never would have entered. VERY unpleasant.

1. Dark and dated inside. You have DJ lighting hanging from ceilings by it's wire. Restroom stinks of urine like it hasn't been clean for days/weeks (Owner show some pride in your club, place looks like a dump) keeping it dark doesn't hide the blemishes. 2. DJ if they actually had one has no clue, music was way too loud to a point that the speakers were clipping. Perhaps they have the gain turned up thinking it's the volume control. The music sounded horrible. (Try sound checking before you open the doors) 3. They sould change name of place from club to theater. I go to club to dance, not watch drag show and male singing performance 3/4 of the whole night. 4. Cocktails extremely expensive and water down. The beer bucket price is a joke. $48 for 6 bottles. Patron shots are $11 and served in 0.5 once shot glass. (0.5 ONCE!!!) You got to be kidding me. If I wasn't here for a birthday party on a Friday night. I would have left after my 1st drink and cut my losses on the cover charge.

I actually do enjoy coming here but definitely gives me Tj vibes and you can encounter the most rude people here. Cash only and drinks aren't the best here. I always drink before coming here...the smell is bad but trust you'll forget about it within an hour

The line to get inside took about an hour to get inside and upon getting inside, the drinks were super expensive! A corona cost me about $7 and my friend who ordered Whiskey on the rocks paid $17.50! I was shocked at how pricey it was! The music and crowd were great! But the waiting time to get inside AND to order drinks too way too long!!! Plus, its cash only.

So EXPLETIVE good! A guy by the name of Carlos approaches me. "Hey; how are you, you seem like you're in culture shock?! I was!!! Hahahhahaha. Please go experience this place. Everything you've read is true. Everything. It got me laid, too.

Looks like it's been remodeled has three rooms with an open top patio different type of music played in every room dancing it is fun food and drinks are cheap nice location.

It does not get much better than Tempo for an down to earth Latino gay bar with 90% very masculine men, very few ladies and some straight couples looking for a fun time. Always nice to have a gay mans bar without a bunch of out of control girls trying to covert the gay boy. I am sure I will take some heat for the following... I don't mind the occasional girl in the bar, but many WEHO bars have a problem with the girls taking over the bar for bachelorette parties, girls nite out, etc. Ladies, when a gay guy goes out for the night, we usually don't want to be surrounded by drunk girls starved for attention. This has is about the best bar in LA area for the gay Latino crowd of all ages. If you are looking for a fancy WEHO with pretty plastic boys, this is not the place for you. Tempo has 3 dance floors, 1 with live music (not usually the best bands but quite popular), A 2nd floor playing the latest Pop and Latin Music and a 3rd dance floor on the second level alternating between Latin music and drag shows. There is also a patio on the second level serving decent tacos to settle your drunken stomach before leaving for the night. The staff are most always very friendly. Prices are very fair for Hollywood. The bar is always packed and the line to get in can get very long very early. Usually have to get there by 9 to get in by 10:30. Friday, Saturday and Sundays are the best nights. The bars in Tempo are very busy. Order 2 drinks at a time or you will be spending a lot of time in line for a drink. Have not really had an opportunity to figure out the midweek crowd. The photos on Yelp do not do this place justice. Tempo is absolutely packed with hot men after about 9pm on weekend nights. Remember to get there early or you will be in the long line around the parking lot for quite a while. All in all, a fun bar with a great crowd.

Like the environment. The music could be better but it is a great place to have a drink and go home with some new company

ATTN: if you are only into the small portion of Latin music meaning mainstream pop/reggaeton Enrique Iglesias, Shakira, Pitbull, Daddy Yankee type with big booty Latinxs twerking on you all night, then this is most likely NOT the spot for you. Instead you'll find 90% handsome, all-aged, men with tight jeans, flashy belts, cowboy boots and hats, and button ups. I've been here twice on Sunday evenings with my partner. Entrance covers $10 per person CASH ONLY and there's a spot to turn in your coat, purses, etc. Don't remember that charge though. The bottom floor has a smaller dance floor that plays a mix of salsa, reggeaton, house mixes and is the emptiest floor in the place (for all you shy dancers). The other side is a bigger floor with at times live bands and for all I can remember they played banda/corridos aaaall night long. You got all types of couples, really good dancers and newbies. Going up the stairs you'll find a bigger dance floor where the drag shows happen, or from what I remember reggaeton, salsa,.. cumbia? We honestly did not spend too much time on the top floor. The other side has a nice sized patio which is full most of the time with food, cigarettes and a nice beachy-vacation decor. Most if not all communication is Spanish and you'll see way more face-to-face dancing than butt-to-crotch grinding. Drinks: can't say much about them I've mostly stuck to water and that was not very delightful. The bathrooms are gender neutral (THUMBS UP) but did not appear clean, .

This place has changed so much ..prices for parking was 3 bucks now it's 7 ..10 bucks to get in ..plus buckets of beer 42 bucks ...be ready to spend at least 150 bucks ..not worth it ..never going back I'm done with this bar

Happy New Year! This year a friend of mind and me decided to go to Club Tempo for New Years Eve. It didn't disappoint us. It was everything we expected and more! $7 parking, $5.75 domestic beers, and $36 dollars for enchiladas! That was a special surprise. We were expecting a $25 cover charge but when we were told $36 it hit the right spot. It must have been to cover the cost of the wood covering the toilet tanks. We felt screwed and didn't even have to use condoms. It's so sad when customers come last. The owner should be ashamed and at least consider how much the average customer earns that goes there. As oppose to bilking a few to make up for shortfalls, it would make more commonsense to lower prices, bring in more customers and have satisfied ones as well while make a profit.

Tempo is a nice place to let loose and have a great time dancing, chatting, watching a drag show.drinking .

Great hidden gem!!! This place offers a safe haven for gay Mexican cowboy uncles that like other Cowboys!!! Nice and friendly people - excellent music and this place has three dance floors. The drag queen entertainment was superb!!! Next we come to LA this is the that I will put on my list. PS! It helps if you speak Spanish!

Great party on Sunday mornings from 6am. Loved the vibe. And the people. Can't wait to go back there next weekend.

Not a bad place, but definitely for the Latino cowboy gay crowd. Drinks are pretty cheap and the drag shows are pretty hilarious. Very large outdoor space to smoke and a couple of different dance floors with variety of music.

Are used to go back in the days to this club now I went last Sunday and I was very shocked to see how bad it is this place the bathroom there are horrible they need to do something with this place is very healthy they charge $10 to get in I can't believe they don't have any money to fix that bathroom somebody needs to call the health department I will . Club Tempo - WILD Latino Gay dance Club -Drag Queen Shows Disclaimer I'm an Asian Non-Spanish speaking straight girl, so forgive me, I don't understand most of whats being said on stage during the performances, except from whats translated to by my friend/ gay-bassador. Also I really don't recognize most of the music nor the celeb acts the "ladies" are paying homage too, but overall this place is very unique and lively. I've been twice already and I thought it was great fun, its very much like stepping into a different world for me, a mini vacation. Details about the Venue.....in a commercial area, not too far from the 101 and the Forever Hollywood Cemetery. 2-story Club, downstairs has 2 small dance floors the one thats always open usually open plays what seems to be "old favorite" latin dancing music. Up the stairs theres 2 areas. The larger room has the bar, dance floor with stage. Tables and chairs are placed around the dance floor for groups and couples to sit. The stage and dance floor is medium in size. Each of the times I was there it was a holiday weekend, so the stage was decorated in colors of the holiday. President's Day was patriotic red, white and blue and this Thursday night it was green and white in prep for St. Patricks day on Saturday. Music upstairs is current Latin dance music and occasionally the DJ will throw in a pop dance hit Pit Bull, Usher or LMAFO. Theres also and open air patio with strings of lights overhead and heat lamps where people can smoke or get some food or drink, its nice to go out there to get a break from the chaos and booty shaking. Parking: Free lot, but some nights you have to pay to park in the lot, only a few bucks. Admission: Free or $2 per person. BRING CASH. Crowd: 99% Latino, 95% Gay Men 5% Misc....Lesbians, Straight people, Other. Almost Every type of Latin gay men here, young, old, punk, hipster, flashy cowboy, macho, femme.... Attire: You'll fit in if you go full cowboy hat, boots and all, with Flashy jeans, form fitting button down or t-shirt, boots, and its totally appropriate to go full gender bending glam girl, wear whatever you can to accentuate those curves, lengthen your legs in sky high heels. These ladies all shine and glitter! Drag performances done entirely en espanol. The two times I went there were at least 6 performers each evening and each entertainer performed at least 2 songs and dressed in total concert , flashy formal wear. Songs are all lip synched and at times they'll turn on the mic to interject some jokes to the crowd. Audience members will come up and give tuck a tip in the performers cleavage or hem of their skirt and give them an kiss on the cheek and a squeeze and whisper some words of appreciation and encouragement in their ear. Most all of the ladies on stage are clearly in drag, but there are one or two where I really was really questioning... Thursday night one of the entertainers came out as Paulina Rubio, but not sure how close she looks to the real Paulina, but her face was nicely made up. Another performer her dress was totally transparent under the stage lights, so I'm not sure if that wardrobe malfunction was intentional or not, but you could totally see her boobs. That night was really special because one girl came out as Adelle and she was great! She lip synched 3 live performance songs. It was the one set I could actually sing along to, the audience was really receptive too. She really good her hand motions and her dress was fab like her black dress at the Grammys, it was black and had sleeves, a total vintage silhouette, but it was totally amped up with sequins, remember it must be super flashy, its a drag show!!! If you like inexpensive drinks, Latin dance and dance music, gay latino men, occasional "lady" with massive cleavage and booty, drag shows this is the place to be, I'm not sure if theres many places like this in California. Come out to Club Tempo if you just want to dance, be entertained and turn your man or lady on the dance floor and not be judged!

this place won my heart. my girl and I were taken there for the first time with a couple of our male friends. We really wanted to go to a girl bar...but we were outvoted 4-2. oh well. There was a cover charge on the night we went, although I don't remember what it was...due to the drinking. But wow as soon as we walked in my breath was taken away...good ol' rancheritas were playing that reminded me of our family birthday parties growing up....and macho looking, mustache bearin, boot n tejana wearin men were dancing cheek to cheek on a packed dance floor. It was beautiful... we also wandered to another room and there were some performances by some drag queens that were sensational...we watched for a bit and then wandered back over to the main room and danced cheek to cheek. oh...we'll be back...especially now that we are in the neighborhood....

This is a cool bar/club. CASH ONLY. Funny and elaborate 30 minutes drag performances at around midnight( you can dance or hang out in their patio area and grab tacos if you're not into drag). When you do find some very good looking brown cowboy he's usually partnered up, but everyone is super chill so don't feel afraid to go up and talk to someone (mostly in Spanish) Three different music rooms. The downstairs vaquero/ranchero/paisa room has a live band on weekends. Sunday is the best night to get a taste of the variety offered here. Definitely bring your buddies and have a good time. (Your lesbian friends would have fun here too!) :)

Went for the new Friday nite 'Peanuts' drag show. This is a new transgender Show ,due to the recent closing of Palms Bar. new host is Maria Roman, A 6'4" blonde bombshell T-Girl performer & actress. Instead of having both go-go dancers & performers, she has 2 girls do both the duties of performers & dancers, combined. fYI - cover is $10 , but if you show the Craig's list post, it's reduced to $5

Would get 5 stars, but parking and cover is $19, and it can feel cliquey. Otherwise, I love it.

Ok I will Go from Not Impressed to Much Much better! I don't know if it was because of my strongly worded Review (I would like to think so) Or because the economy tanked and not as many people were going out, But when i went back to tempo Many many many months later They had done away with the number system crap and there wasn't a line of people wrapped around the building twice.. I had an enjoyable time, Hopefully it was policy changes that made this happen, brought on by The power of the people.. (I've left my original Post so you could see what Was originally going on there) (orig) Not Impressed!! They have this whole "number thing" they do apparently for crowd control!! it's the same BS everyweek, They make people dance in the one bar and wait until a number is called, While tons and i mean tons of people get in and go right up to the more active bar!! it's total hollywood BS where you must know someone or give money to go to the cooler part of the bar!! I get tired of playing Games at this place!! I can take my money down the street where they will let everyone in!! Years ago tempo used to have a huge line and be very very popular, but now it's not as popular!! barely even a line anymore on sunday " which used to be the "famed night" I'm assuming it because everyone gets tired of playing their games!! go down the street you find just as many hot latinos!! without the GAMES

This a great Club of a Vaquero night to visit in Los Angeles if you are out of town!!!!

I love the laid back atmosphere here it's so down to earth and fun, my uncle when ever he comes down to visit this is where he wants to go. It's great so to sum it up good times to be had by all ... ENJOY !!!

Club Tempo is one of the good gay clubs and bar that i have ever been to even tho i only been there once the experience was fun, my favorite dance floor is the one with the mexican cowboys in their tight pants and they ask to dance with you and just cool, through out the whole night there were a few men flirting with me, and the Drag show is a must see. if anyone else knows of other gay cowboy bars please post or blog it to me thanks.

I went to Peanuts that's held on Friday nights, Hosted by Maria Roman. The first thing was the surrounding area is really ghetto and rundown. Parking is free if you get there early. I can't believe they're charging $10.00 for the cover charge for such a small rundown dive bar. Even with the $5.00 Facebook discount, this place isn't worth it. The music was primarily Latin. No mix of Club/Top 40's. One wall and the Bar was nothing but Old, decrepit lecherous perverts ogling the girls like they were meat to be purchased. Security isn't worth a damn. Mostly a Dude Ranch with very little passable women in the place. Since The Palms closed down all the trashy working girls migrated to this bar. The only thing this place has going for it is the cheap drink prices, and the show is decent.Save Yourself and your money! much better places in West Hollywood to go to! I will NEVER return to this place.
