I usually enjoy a good night out, but this time the experience was disappointing because of one bouncer. When we were leaving, we noticed he kept pushing people around to get by, even though there was plenty of space. He kept pushing me forward just to pass behind me, which was completely unnecessary. He even grabbed my friend in the back so hard that my friend thought someone was trying to hurt him. To make it worse, he laughed at us as we were leaving. It really killed the vibe right at the end of the night. If you’re going to hire bouncers, at least make sure they’re not there just pushing people around because they work there. Having a security job doesn’t make anyone more special—it just means they should help keep things safe and respectful. On top of that, $8 for half an ounce of alcohol in a shooter is a huge rip-off. I’d love to say I was too drunk to notice, but I was just starting my night. The prices are already high, but we still try to have a good time. Unfortunately, this bouncer’s behavior and the overpriced drinks made the end of the night really disappointing.

Club Unity is an amazing place to party! It has three floors, each with its own DJ, offering different vibes. The rooftop has cute swings and a great atmosphere. However, the small bottle water was 7$, which felt expensive.

The energy here is unmatched from the music to the lights to the crowd, everything comes together for an unforgettable night out. The staff were friendly and fast, even on a busy night, and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming and inclusive. It’s one of those places where you can actually relax, be yourself, and just have a great time. I recommend!

Honestly, I didn’t like this DJ at all. He’s terrible zero vibe, no energy. On top of that, he’s really rude to people, super disrespectful. I’ve been going to Unity for three years, and I’ve always loved the atmosphere and the DJs there, but this one completely ruined the vibe.

I lost my tag for my jacket and literally got kicked out. I was given no chance to wait or anything. As soon as I said I had lost my coat ticket I was grabbed by three people and dragged out to the sidewalk. No jacket, out into a snowstorm. A 40 minute walk to the hotel. When I asked how to get my coat back I was told to come back at 6pm the next day. This place should honestly be avoided if you need to coat check!

Went with friends in April and was pleasantly surprised! I loved the security, the staff, the different floors for different music. Bathrooms were super clean, obviously gender neutral and had security guards. Just nothing to dry your hands (small inconvenience). Felt super safe. Lots of AC on the dance floors (tysm) and space to dance. As the night advanced it did get very crowded and we did get bumped around, but it’s a club! It’s normal! People were as respectful as possible passing you by. No creeps! Even if I was with twins. Usually it makes them creep magnets… super efficient staff. Pricing is within the range of all other clubs, so expensive, but definitely not overpriced like some other clubs downtown. All in all 10/10! Had lots of fun, would go back anytime!

Two dance floors, plus a rooftop and a it has a nice view from up there! The music was incredible and everyone was having a good time! Downside is that they don't offer tap water for free (only bottled water for like 7 CAD), especially if I'm already paying a cover to get in, and the pre-made mixes kind of threw me off. It was still an enjoyable time.

lmao so i was bribed to give a 5 star review so i could get a free shot, music was so insanely loud in the first floor that we couldn’t stay there for more than 5 minutes and staff didnt have earplugs when i asked. staff was pretty incompetent when we needed to leave- @ coat check they lost someone’s coat and it took 15+ minutes of waiting (we were literally next in line) to get our stuff to leave. Also make the exit more clear so the bouncer doesn’t get the chain up my coochie like WHAT??? anyways soured our night but the drinks were good BUT lord have mercy lets get it together club unity what are yall doingggg 😍😍😍😍

They do not offer tap water to patrons without purchasing bottled water. Despite a $25 cover charge. This is both unsafe and unethical, and I strongly recommend against this club.

Hi Team, I am an ex-Montrealer. I moved to Toronto in the month of July and went to Montreal for the pride parade in August. My trip was going to be from 1st August to 13th August but there was a incident which happened on 4th August which made me traumatized and I returned back to Toronto. So, basically me and 2 indians friends and 1 one from other country were at CLUB UNITY on Friday the 4th of August. We were in the line and when we reached to the bouncer he asked me if I have a reservation. I said no so he snatched me outside the line and said I cannot go in and nither my friends. I was like okay no problem then can I make a reservation? He said no. But he did not ask other people in the line for reservations and he was removing àll South asian people from the line. I asked a guy and a girl (caucasian) in the line if they have one and they said no and they said we can go without a reservation (I saw them getting in without being asked for a reservation just their ID). As well as on the website there was nothing mentioned and even club unity's Instagram. I called the customer service and she said we don't let anyone without a reservation but I told her that other people are going and she said no we need a reservation and the customer service was not helpful too. I have videos too where you can see that the people were not asked for the reservation except for brown skin. I am so upset because Unity was the club were I first went after coming out as gay. Later I put a review on google and the person from Club unity said I did not had a ID but that was never a case because if he asked me for a different ID then I would have given him. I honestly want justice and not someone responding with a rude too.

A friend bring me there once but to be honest wasn't my vibe at all and of course it was before pandemic. Music was way too loud for my opinion at least,also cocktails or drinks are pretty expensives but at least the music make me feel nostalgic since it mostly was early 2000 song which I grew up with and that's why I'm giving them a 3 stars . Without forgetting to mention at least when there barman only took cash and the card machine was broken which is kinda bummer

Have been twice now, had such a great time! The atmosphere is amazing, bartenders are great. It's three levels and the top is a rooftop which is great for when you get to hot on the first floor. The cover charge has gone up but that's the case with everything, however the drink prices could be lower given the cover is now $20.

Super fun 3 level club. Great music - first floor is EDM, second floor is Latin hits mixed in with some popular pop, and top floor is chill rooftop bar with cool seating and quieter music.

Dancing and music: 5 stars Drinks: 0 stars Great if you're already drunk, but the drinks are not good and def not worth the money and won't get you drunk unless you buy a ton of them.

Unity is a solid gay club. It has it's ups and downs over the years (a fire, mismanagement, ) and the crowd left. Renamed, Unity 2, It is not as popular as it once was. Located, on Rue St. Catherine, above Stock Dansuer/ Strip club. Unity is now open Thursday-Sunday nights and has 2 floors, as well as a large roof desk, which is open in the summer months. Cover charge required for entry after 11:00pm.

we lost our coat check ticket and were denied service for an hour. we have service experience and understand the stress but never have we been treated this way. we were mocked for CRYING when we couldn't access our wallet and keys. literally mocked. horrible service. worst customer service i have ever experienced.

This club was fun, and admission wasn't too expensive. The drinks weren't too bad, but they were very watered down. After three drinks I was still almost completely sober, and that's usually all it takes. They also charge $5 for water which, as an American, I found a little ridiculous but maybe that's normal for Montreal. Edit: the club owner is correct that 1oz is technically a shot, however for the price I was expecting a little more.

There is one major dance floor playing techno and a staircase up to the rooftop deck, which looks awesome! However, it was raining so this place was completely empty. No cover, which is nice. Don't bother coming before midnight, as this place doesn't seem to fill up until around then!

Unity took my gay-club v-card! What a beautiful experience I had here. I pre-drank, so I didn't have to buy drinks there at all. All I know is cover was $5, candy was free (not in the creepy, child-luring kind of way), the crowd was lovely and the music kept me jammin' all night long! Everyone I spoke to - whether bouncer, coat checker or fellow club-goer - was so friendly and pleasant. That's not a common experience at clubs, so I really appreciated that. There were three floors (with some scarily steep stairs leading up to the patio), which kept things fun and interesting. What made things more fun and interesting was the drag show around midnight. LOVE THIS PLACE.

Many clubs use fog machines and fancy lighting to make the ugly people in clubs look more attractive. I feel that Unity uses them to make all the beautiful people look even MORE attractive. Something is wrong when even the ugly people are beautiful. Why doesnt the US take some advice from the Canadians on how to make a good club? 3 floors of music playing the typical top 40 and french dance hits, countless bars...drag queens walking around pouring shots into your mouth for 2 bucks...cant beat it! I have never danced so hard in my life. I was the dancing queen for a while until some big drag queen got up and took my spotlight. it was ok. She had a feather headdress and thong. Not to mention, we left at 2am and there were still load of people showing up. Thats what i call night life! My only vice is: I am used to bartenders having a brain lapse as the pour my drink and giving me a VODKA and soda. However at unity they tend to pour vodka and SODA. Needless to say it takes a lot of drinks to get drunk here but they have great booze. and sugar free red bull. my life

I had a lot of fun at this club when I was younger, and I'm only 25! It's full of very young people. It's supposed to be a gay club, but there are a lot of straight people who go. I've never been hit on by gross creepy guys at any gay club other than this one. If you're a straight guy going to this club, please take my advice...two girls dancing with each other at a gay club are not dancing for you! Do not feel free to touch, pinch, grope, or grind up on any girls in this club without asking! Please remember that you are in the Village, and that in the Village we respect everyone! We should respect everyone everywhere, but that doesn't seem to happen, so please at least make an effort in the Village. All that to say, it can be a fun club to get drunk and silly in with friends. They've been bringing better DJs recently which looks promising.

The club was fun, consisted of many different rooms on a few different floors. The drinks, of course, were tiny. Luckily we were given a coupon for a free beer, in a bottle! I ordered a shot for my friend and myself and they came in something just slightly larger than a thimble...no joke! So drink before you go! The music was fun, and dancing on the boxes was fun. I was told that the night I went was lesbian night, but it was still a blast and got packed by 1 am.

Spent New Years Eve here with a group of 11 of my closest friends and I had the time of my life. It's a huge club with 2 massive floors, each with equally massive dance floors. The downstairs main dance floor plays your typical gay anthem party music, while the smaller room upstairs plays anything from Spice Girls & Lady Gaga to Cotton Eye Joe & Britney Spears. The place also boasts a cute rooftop patio for the smokers, since smoking isn't allowed inside the club (thank God). Though when we went up there, we quickly came back inside since it was about 4 degrees outside. I bet on summer nights the rooftop is the place to go though. If i lived in Montreal, Unity would definitely be a party staple on my weekend agenda. Affordable drinks & cover (on certain nights) and the best music around makes this the perfect place to party with your fellow gays.

If I lived in Montreal, I'd be here all the time! I spent New Year's Eve at Unity with a large group of friends and thoroughly enjoyed the music, ambiance & smoke-free environment (save for a rooftop patio). Fair warning: The drinks were weak on the liquor, but not too pricy so I guess you get what you pay for? Also they didn't have some name brand liquor (like Tanqueray gin). One last thing I didn't like? They force you to check your jacket. But honestly, the pros far outweighed the cons & didn't hinder my having a fabulous time at all. There are several floors (four I think) & seating areas all catering to a different type of gay audience, something for everyone! One has a drag show (on the night of my visit I had a super fabulous Kylie Minogue performance) and others have varying music, from pop to dance. The music in the pop area can't be beat. Vintage Spice Girls, Kylie, Gaga, Madonna, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Britney, etc. Save for the sometimes awkward "Cotton Eye Joe," the music just kept you cutting a rug. That's all this girl needs!

It was absolutely dead before midnight, but we showed up at 11 pm to avoid the cover. There were super cheap drink specials all night - namely $5 mixed wells - but they are light pours. The infamous shots from the wandering drag queens were terrible: two little cups of something sugary and premixed, with barely any vodka in it. They don't do it in your mouth anymore :(. It's too bad the club was empty, and the few people that were there were super young and too obsessed with showing off some meh moves. The music was fantastic, and the dance areas were spacious with some stage areas. I could see this being really fun if you're under 23 and a lightweight.

For Americans visiting Montreal and down to dance your asses off, come here! Such a fun crowd, open and welcoming, ready to meet and dance with each other. Crowd is mostly 18-25. Bartenders were fucking awesome, dancing shirtless on the bars, one gave me a nice glass of water. Elevated stages to dance on with your friends, cages to dance in, and a second floor to chill out and watch the dancers below. Music was great - I especially loved the early 2000's pop! Plus there's a rooftop terrace, but it was snowing, so didn't spend that much time there.

My husband and I had just got married over on the Thursday and traveled to beautiful Montreal for our Honeymoon for Friday,Saturday,Sunday and Monday of the long weekend. Since this was my first time in the city (and province) we decided to hit up the first dance club we could find. We happened to have a Metro just down the street from our hotel and was delivered to the gay village within 5 minutes. Walking about 2 minutes out the metro stop in the village you'll hit this insanely spacious venue next to Stock. Unity is an exceptionally well designed nightclub ; many reviewer's have noted how large the space is , they have managed to ensure just about every area has a bar or drinks near it which is smart and nice since they were fairly cheap compared to Ontario prices. The music was very fast paced mixing done really well by their special guest DJ General Yao - that guy hit every style of music and didn't stop! It was really good to hear some seriously fun deejaying even if it was for mostly top 40 style tunes. The set behind the DJ was an intense lights show with lasers, strobe effects and several other lighting rigs - it also featured a large projection screen that would lower and raise to show various effects and words - pretty nice. We danced and drank with a semi full venue at 11:45 - it filled up around 12:30. The bartenders were very nice, attractive and wearing next to nothing which was a nice surprise. We went out to the gorgeous rooftop patio with a large island style bar - we actually never ordered from the bar since they had a shooter boy who kept feeding us cheap shots. We loved it so much we made a point of going back the next night (Saturday) and the promise that if we had as much fun as we did that night we would skip checking out the other bars. Unfortunately the DJ they had the next night was not good at all (and I hate to say that) but it was just awful music selection, sloppy mixing - maybe he just was having an off night but we ended up leaving about 45 minutes into our stay - and that's after we went out on to the rooftop patio again for a smoke - met another shooter boy , purchased some shots - and saw the shooter boy from the night before again who gave us a drink someone just bought for him and got us to buy 4 more shots! The only reason I didn't give this place 5 star is bc of the DJ - I hate to say it since I too am a DJ and would love nothing more to play in a venue like Unity, but that selection and mixing actually ruined an early start for us at Unity. Overall, I would recommend going this club when you are visiting the city , if you come often or live in Montreal you may just want to check out their Facebook page to find out what they have going on - their website is up but I couldn't find a lot of images or too much detail from their website so I would suggest Facebook.

Nice club with different options. Went there and spent the whole night dancing and had so much fun with my friends. If you are looking for a dance night with friends and different options of music, this is definitely the place to go.

Best club hands down. The only thing I didn't like was that if you wear a jacket you have to check it for 2.50. About 3 different dance floors with great music on each level. Drinks aren't that strong but they are pricey and the rooftop view is great but the music isn't that loud. Very nice staff and bartenders. We came to this club every night

Unity waters down drinks big time. Ordered four shots in 30 min and walked out sober. As a lightweight. The ONLY plus to going is theres no cover before 11

Had the best time in years at Unity. I like dancing and kind of ran out of good places to go out. One of my gay friends suggested a night out in the Montreal Gay Village. I left some of my homophobic friends in a bar on St. Laurent and adventure into the night. If you are single, like me, fed up of snobby clubs in Montreal, give this club a try. Admission was 6$, actually free if you compare it to other Montreal clubs. Staff is so friendly that you want to adopt them, drinks are beyond reasonable (paid 5$ for a gin-tonic and my friend had a 5.50$ local beer), with a good variety, huge dance floor and amazing sound. People going out there are grounded, mixed crowd, peaceful and very friendly. There is no particular dress code, I only assume that could be labeled as casual. Guess where I am going out to dance from now on?

Great diverse music with mostly american pop and rap with some latin also. Very welcoming environment and people were so friendly. Great atmosphere, average priced drinks. Everyone was very open and willing to dance. Would 100% come back, great place for tourists.

I went to this club last year for NYE and decided to have come back for this current one. I loved the addition of the Drag Queen, but hire some more and have a longer show!! Music was so bad this year, the 12 AM song was so bad and didn't creat a good vibe for the new year.

We decided to check this place out on a Saturday. It honestly felt like a school party for some reason) The music was weird and very random, and the place was half empty. We left after 20 minutes

Unity is most likely the best kept secret in town. I am a fierce ClubKid, so when I choose to go dancing, Unity is the club for me. In terms of space, Unity is well equipped. Two dance floors, a lounge and terrasse in the summer. The atmosphere is casual and super friendly including the staff. The light show is just amazing! Friday's and Saturday's the dance floors are full at capacity, clubbers are engaged by a line up of excellent DJ's. Get ready to end up soaked at the end of the night. The admission fee is waved until11pm and after is just a few $$. The drinks are reasonably priced, I would say under the average for Montreal's clubs. Thursday's Unity offers a hip hop, reggae, dance hall night "Hey Bae!" DJ's will shake your toosh with a variety of classic tunes. One of my fave nights there. The only negative thing I could say about Unity is their web page that is a total mess. Clearly out of date. I guess Unity management decided to promote their events only on Facebook. That's it dudes! C U on the dance floor!

Went the on 5/7/16. Loved the DJ and the ambiance. The drinks weren't weak (or stronger either) and not terribly overpriced. However, the guy checking coats was super condescending over a simple mistake. I grabbed my reciept but not the disc with the number they give you because the receipt was handed to me with my change. The disc was placed in front of me, which I didn't see (He actually let me know after the end of it all that he remembered me leaving it behind). He just kept telling me I was wrong rather than looking for a solution. I'm guessing he was just thinking I was a dumb, drunk American. Regardless, it made what could have been an "Oh well, what does it look like? Anything identifying in the pockets?", which was in fact a 2 second process once he started it, into a 5 minute process. My advice for him: Yeah I know Americans are jerks, but we get out the door and out of your hair quicker when you just try to be helpful rather than being impossibly rude to your customer. I understand the source of the frustration. But, he handled it totally wrong.

As an avowed heterosexual cis-male who normally doesn't care for clubbing, I must say: these guys know how to party better than anyone I've ever seen. Advice: Don't show up sober; drinks are expensive. When I went, I got served free hot dogs and overpriced Molson Ex by a drag queen in a cheerleader outfit with a Texas flag (the theme was spooooooooorts, if memory serves). Love the roof deck, too.

Overall very good experience. My friends and I went because we wanted to avoid the ass grabbing of straight clubs, and Unity mostly fit the bill. The music was pretty good, mostly current dance music. It was about 50/50 straight/gay people. There was some inappropriate ass grabbing and grinding from straight men who wouldn't take no for an answer but I still had a good time, and it was nothing compared to straight clubs. Drinks were reasonably priced ($4/shot, $8/cocktail) and not watered down.

I love this club and have been here before. Although at my most resent visit a coat check attendant was incredibly rude. I had accidentally lost my number tag and the way the situation was handled was completely inappropriate. I will not return. I left feeling insulted and distraught.

So on like my 24th trip to this city...Somewhere around there anyways, I had read the reviews and didn't feel like walking around for an hour like the first night I got here...I go in here and at around 10:50 its no cover!!! Which is like a super bonus thing, so anyways, I get a drink and its like 5 dollars Canadian!!! I am so happy that I proceed to drink a bit more than usual and with such cheap prices I tip like 100 percent for the first couple drinks and ended up spending under 45 US dollars on six drinks...the music was ok, kind of a mix of House and other electronic stuff I guess, the crowd seemed to be a mix of locals and international students and some tourists...I only stayed till a little after 12 when it started getting crowded, I liked the roof deck and there is a room with one of those silly dance video games where a bunch of dudes were really getting off on it...Over all its a very nice place and next time I come back will definitely make it a stop!!!

The doorman was really nice. Everyone has to stand in the coat check line even if they dont have a coat. The coat check guy was rude.

Not really into it lol...... Went here once for my friend's birthday and...... was not too into it. Cool light show I guess but the music was ultra-generic (they played like all big room remixes of top 10 songs which after an hour it's just like ugh), and it just wasn't much fun I guess. I'd rather go to something smaller with better music.

We planned on hitting up club unity after the reviews we read on line. Seemed like a fun place to go! The entrance was a bit tricky to find. But when we did and walked up the stairs to the entrance they told us a private party was going on so a majority of the bar was sectioned off. There was no line up out front and we didn't see many people going to or from it. The bar was pretty empty for a Saturday night at 1 am. We were disappointed. Also heard from some locals at a pub that it wasn't the best but we thought we would try it out anyway. We should have listened.

Good music, good people, 3 floors and roof access! What could be better? Drinks are overpriced, but then again what club doesn't have overpriced drinks? Have been here about 6 times now and I've had a lot of fun every time!

Spent the week in Montreal and went to this club on the second night. Fantastic mix of music, two separate floors with separate sounds that don't overlap at all, a fantastic terrace up top to rest your feet, very good experience.

The Dawson theatre graduates came here for our after party. From the moment we got in the service was IMPECCABLE!!!! The managers of the place were super nice and made sure all our needs were met many times troughout the evening. I was extremely impressed and would HIGHLY RECCOMEND this club to everyone!! The music was perfect and so was the dancing! By far the best club I've ever been to

the drag queen was so nice and funny, the music was okay awkward to dance on, but quite energizing, the crowd is young and so into it haha, we had the chance to assist a poll dancing show and a live painting, truly entertaining, unity is a good representation of the urban lgbt community in montreal, a must club in montreal
