Yelp
Visited @kegandcasemn to make a pit stop at @clutchbrewco. It is on the second floor of the building, with smells of food from places like O'Cheeze, Pimento, and Poppin filling the place. While I was there, I also got to watch some Super Smash Bros being played on a large screen. Clutch's menu had unique spins on classics, traditional styles not often seen (Biere de Garde anyone?), and the ever present IPAs / Sours. I tried five of their offerings and enjoyed every single last one of them.
Hefe"wine"zen:
A dry hopped hefeweizen with Nelson Sauvin and Pacifica hops. Light dough malt (wheat cracker almost) on the nose, with a unique hoppy taste (white wine from the Nelson is the most prevalent) and some light banana and clove coming through.
Stellar:
Not only Stellar in name, this Pineapple Mango Strawberry Sour has a lighter body that makes it similar to a more tart fruited lemonade. It has a medium tart pineapple / mango flavor with the sweet notes of the strawberry rising in the finish to provide a good balance.
Enjoy'a Sequoia:
A double dip hopped IPA with a huge hop character. It is a bouquet of fresh fruit, citrus, and pine cones. Imagine getting a fruit basket with pine cones mixed in, and that is about what you smell and taste with this beer.
Barnstomp
A style not often seen at breweries, this Biere de Garde was my favorite of the bunch. Loads of raisin, black currant, and toasted bread flavor with malty toffee aromas. For a beer that isn't heavy in body there is a lot of malt flavor.
Heavy Setter
A Wee Heavy Scotch Ale that doesn't hide from its smokiness. I get medium-high smoked caramel, toasted bread crust, and hints of light brown sugar on the finish. A big 9% ABV beer that would be great around the campfire.
