In an amazing coincidence I ate at Clyde's Georgetown one night and Clyde's Mark Center the next. Fortunately, they have diverse menus with few overlaps.
I went to the Mark Center with two others and we enjoyed a nice, good meal. Nothing extraordinary but still enjoyable. We had reservations but we were seated a good 15-30 minutes prior to scheduled. We got drinks quickly though entrees would take a little longer than we hoped.
The dinners were as follows: I had the bacon horseradish meatloaf. This dish comes with Yukon whipped potatoes, sautéed spinach, mushroom bordelaise. I would have liked some more bacon and horseradish flavor but it was still quite good. Other guests had the fried chicken bowl which featured honey-sriracha tossed chicken breast, hardboiled egg, crispy bacon, honey crisp apples, watercress, ginger pickled cucumbers, scallions. They reported it had some heat, which they liked. Finally, our other patron had a roasted sweet potato and egg bowl including farro & Carolina gold rice, kale hushpuppy, hot honey, pickled radish, shaved Brussels sprouts, and chili-peanut crisp. She chose to skip the chili peanut crisp to avoid an overly spicy dish.
For dessert we split a bourbon chocolate chip bread pudding featuring brown sugar glaze and vanilla ice cream. This dish was merely okay.
Drinks, dinner, and a dessert with tip came out close to $120 for three people. Not bad considering typical D.C. prices. A score of 3.5 rounds to 4.
