Three Restaurants to Try This Weekend | Eater DC

"I found Clyde’s in Chevy Chase to be a reliable spot for a warm-up meal, with consistent cups of chili and a daily happy hour that keeps house wines at $5; the location even offers the local novelty “Chevy Chaser” cocktail. The iconic cheeseburger—ground chuck from Cedar River Farms on a sesame seed bun—was solid, and fries leaned a touch salty but paired well with the $5 happy-hour discount. " - Eater Staff

Dined here for the first time to have lunch and overall had a great experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an amazing staff member and were seated immediately. Our server was great as well and was very attentive to our needs the entire visit. I ordered the catfish sandwich with fries and I was impressed by the portion sizes of both. I would suggest that the catfish be seasoned so that there's flavor. It tasted pretty bland but the sauce put on it helped. The fries were amazing though! Prices here are reasonable and I would recommend it.

Visiting DMW area for an American University frat event. We went to Clyde’s late night bc they were the only local place open until 1AM which is super convenient. We arrived around 10:45PM so we had to order off of the “late night” menu (there’s a regular menu for earlier hours with way more options than the late night menu). I had a glass of Rosé & the bolognese as my entree (3/5, bland but not too bad). I would dine here again. Good energy, quick service. They are renovating the bottom level near the restrooms so the walls are currently plastic taped off but I’m sure it’s going to look great when Reno is complete. Parking: you can park in the garage to the left of Clyde’s (2 min walk over). The host will validate your parking slip as long as your stay is under 3 hours. Payment for parking is $3 for 1 hour, $6 for 2 hours, etc. Over all great experience (3.8/5).

I came for brunch at 2PM on a Sunday (Father’s Day). There was no wait, so I was seated immediately. It took a while - about 10 minutes- for my server to greet me, although she did bring water and take my order promptly. The decor is so fun! Americana and all things planes, trains and automobiles. They have a toy train that operates on the ceiling. It’s a large venue, so it was loud but tolerable - very similar to Cheesecake Factory in size and dining experience. The food - just ok. Overall assessment is that it’s overpriced for the quality. - Crab soup: for being $8.99, it had very generous chunks of crab meat! However, it was more of a chowder than soup. It was extremely heavy and very cream-based, which unfortunately overpowered the crab flavor. - Cheeseburger sliders: served cold, cheese was not melted, and they were overcooked and very, very dry. Definitely not worth ordering. - French toast: The turkey sausages were great; caramelized on the outside and perfectly cooked. I loved the fresh cream, strawberries, and 100% maple syrup. However, the French toast itself was lukewarm and it didn’t seem like it had been well-coated in the egg mixture before cooking. - Brownie sundae: best part of the meal. I opted out of the chocolate sauce. The brownie was served warm with two generous scoops of vanilla ice cream, fresh cream, almonds and a cherry. Definitely suitable to share between 2-3 people. Glad I tried it, but I won’t be coming back.

This is perfect for a group of friends/family to dine! The food is good, especially the fresh oysters, chicken wings and banana bread pudding! There are a lot of other good foods as well! I kept watching this train over top of us move around and of course that makes you look at all the beautiful planes ✈️ that are mounted to the ceiling. There are also these beautiful ships 🚢 for decoration and it’s really fascinating! The customer service is always great and of accommodating! I will recommend always.

Stopped in for a bit to eat while in the area on business. Great atmosphere and friendly bartenders. (I sat at the bar since I was solo) I ordered their sheppards pie. It was delicious! The food was very tasty and reasonably priced for the area. Everything was hot and fresh. It's definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. Great for solos, small parties, and can easily fit large parties as well as the dining room itself was huge.

Loved everything of this place. Food, hospitality, dessert, interaction. If you love old charm of hospitality where servers are not rushed and take time to share a chat with you and exchange pleasantries, you would love this place.

Had an absolute blast at Clyde’s last night! The Filipino band was amazing—great music, fun energy, and such a lively vibe. It really made the night special. The food was delicious, and the service was spot on. I loved the beautiful resto-bar ambiance—classy, cozy, and perfect for a night out with friends. Definitely looking forward to going back for more good times and great eats

Unique interiors with lots of car-related posting and paintings and actual vehicles. Took out one star because the food was too salty for me. Kind staff. Great location.

Yelp
We've been coming to Clyde's in Chevy Chase for years, and at this point we consider ourselves "regulars" -- but only if we can sit in Kris's section. She is the reason we keep coming back. Even when the dining room is packed and she's clearly juggling a full section, she somehow manages to take care of every table with patience and grace. We've even overheard her handling some pretty difficult tables, and she never loses her cool. That alone is impressive. This visit was another great one. The whole family came out, and we were excited to see lobster on the menu. The whole Maine lobster was delicious (though we always wish they were bigger!) and the lobster pasta was excellent too. I'm not usually a mushroom person, but even then I still enjoyed it. Kris knows our go-to drinks by heart and had them on the table while we were still looking over appetizers. She even suggested a new dessert we hadn't tried before -- it was so good we ended up ordering a second one to take home. That's what makes Kris stand out: she remembers what you like, and she has a knack for recommending something new you'll actually love. **One note to management: please fix the air conditioning. It's been hot in there for a while now, and if Clyde's can open two brand new restaurants, it feels like you can also invest in keeping the existing ones comfortable. Also, there's been chatter (and articles) about credit card fees coming out of servers' tips. That practice is unfair and shouldn't fall on employees. If that's something you're going to do, it should be clearly printed on the check -- but really, it shouldn't be happening at all. That said, we love Clyde's, the food is consistently great, and Kris is the absolute best. She makes every visit feel like a treat, and we'll continue to request her section every time. Five stars all the way.

Yelp
Three of us met up for lunch today and it was delightful. When the first two arrived, we were seated at a nice 4-top and told the server that we would be waiting for a third. He brought over a pitcher of water for the table and asked if we wanted to order anything while we wait. We said no. A couple of minutes passed and he came over and asked again if we wanted anything. We said we were waiting for the third before ordering and he left us alone until our third arrived. (There's a long winded way of saying he handled it well - making sure we were ok, but not being pushy.) I ordered the Falafel Bowl, which was outstanding. The creamy hummus had a nice, rich flavor, the quinoa, tahini sauce, pickled onions and other components popped and the lemon vinaigrette dressing had a nice tang, but wasn't overpowering. The falafel balls were outstanding. Fried just right with delicious flavor and soft texture inside. One friend had the turkey sandwich with fries, which I was told was a "wonderful sandwich with just the right amount of turkey, avocado and sprouts on delicious sprouted wheat bread. Fries crispy and plentiful. Don't ever take it off the menu." The other person had Cream of Crab Soup and Bang Bang Cauliflower Appetizer. I was told that the crab soup, although it did have bits of crab, was mostly bland cream. The cauliflower appetizer was a nice portion of crispy cauliflower with a sweet and spicy aioli. The cauliflower was really good. The server came by several times and replaced our empty water pitcher. Service was very good. Oh, and we lingered a good bit after we finished paying the bill and chatted and we were not rushed at all. Nice, comfortable, classy (but not pretentious) atmosphere. Lots of models of cars around and the downstairs bar area (where the bathroom is - accessible by stairs or elevator - looks neat.

Yelp
I would give this restaurant a 3.5/5 if possible! Service: Our server kept track of all our orders even though we were a large group and wait time for food was very short. However, I finished my water very early into the meal and never had my cup refilled although I saw other tables being given more water. Food: The food was expensive for what it is but the portions are very big! The cocktails were inconsistent; my drink was extremely strong whereas my mother's had very little alcohol. Ambiance: The theming of Clyde's is very cute with a toy train running along the ceiling and travel themed decor. I appreciated that the restaurant had handicap friendly features such as a separate entrance from the revolving door and an elevator to the bathroom downstairs if you can't make it down the staircase.

Yelp
We enjoyed our 11/22/2025 dinner. It was our first time here. Very good hospitality. We ordered lamb and we enjoyed it. The cauliflower was recommended by our waiter and it was delicious! Also ordered the Burnt beef tips starter and they were good but much more potatoes than beef. Since I ordered this for my dinner I was hoping for more beef. The pear alcoholic drink I returned and ordered a ginger ale. We will return to try other items. Suggestion: We did not know we could get our parking validated. Please inform customers of all perks when they inform you it is their first time.

Yelp
They have half price oysters for happy hour and late night menu at the bar. Friendly staff who are knowledgeable with drink menu. Outdoor and indoor bar available. Food is basic American, nothing too special.

Yelp
Clyde's of Chevy Chase has such a fun and unique vibe--the whole "golden age of travel" theme with the train, cars, and ship decor makes it feel like you're dining somewhere special. I ordered the steak salad and it was really good, super fresh and flavorful. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly, though it did take a while for the food to come out. Still, the atmosphere and food made up for it, and it's definitely a great spot for lunch or dinner if you're in the area.
google avatar

Addy C.

Yelp
Great ambiance - loved seeing the model airplanes and railroad overhead, the cruise ship replicas ... celebrating the golden age of travel. Honestly the highlight was the service - our server was very friendly and great. COMPLIMENTARY COFFEE CAKE We came on a Sunday during brunch hour - so I wondered what they serve during the evening hours. But that coffee cake was very good and fluffy! FRIED CHICKEN RICE BOWL - $21.99 I think the menu description sounded better than it tasted - it was good but didn't wow me. Sriracha tossed chicken breast, hard-boiled egg, bacon, watercress, honey crisp apples, ginger-pickled cucumbers, scallions. FRENCH ONION BURGER - $18.99 Caramelized onions, French Onion aioli, red leaf lettuce, Grueyere cheese, toasted brioche bun. I really should've followed by heart (vs brain that said "eat healthy") - my parents ordered this burger. You could definitely smell the burgers in this restaurant. My parents are elderly and shared the burger - the staff were kind enough to split both the burger and fries onto two plates. Love this service level - and even better, they really enjoyed the burger! The rest of my family ordered the "Lentil and Quinoa Patty Melt" ($19.99), "Falafel Bowl" ($19.99), and "Bacon Cheeseburger" ($18.99) - everyone loved their food. Overall great place to take your family.

Yelp
Clyde's has been in the DMV for decades. This location is on Wisconsin Ave, near Tiffany's and WTOP's building. If you park in the restaurant lot, you can get two hours validated on your ticket. We visited on a Friday evening and the place wasn't crowded. The decor includes wonderful cars on display throughout the restaurant. The downstairs bar has a karaoke area (and restrooms). When the place is crowded, some of the tables are quite close to each other. I was happy that the table closest to us did not have any guests during our visit. The menu is pub grub and seafood items. I asked for a grilled cheese sandwich (not on the menu) and was accommodated. It is a nice place to catch up with friends. We weren't rushed while we lingered and chatted.

Yelp
We wanted to find a place to get a quick bite that was open late so we could sit, drink a bottle of wine, and chat for hours! Thankfully Clyde's is open late and they have a wide variety of options for food so it seemed perfect. We made a last minute reservation and it worked out great! The food was nothing super special, but it came out quickly and was good enough! We had had a big lunch prior to this so we didn't need much. The pierogis were great, the arancini was kinda cold but fine, the wings were alright (my boyfriend wanted old bay hot honey seasoning which wouldn't be my personal choice but he liked them!), and the salad was great! Honestly we came for the bottle of wine, but stayed for the food. Our server, Ian, was great and attentive. He seemed a little nervous and felt bad he wasn't more attentive but honestly he was totally fine and very nice! The restaurant itself was busy when we first got there at 8:15 pm so I'm not surprised things were a bit hectic! The vibes were good though and the restaurant was clean. I think this worked out nice because we weren't looking for anything crazy fancy, but it definitely made for a nice evening out.

Yelp
Clyde's has a nice selection of good food, which is always well prepared and served with a smile. You can get a really fine meal at a reasonable price.

Marianna R.

Yelp
Once again, had a fabulous lunch at Clyde's of Chevy Chase. What is spaghetti with shrimp and cherry tomatoes. Service was very good atmosphere is always charming never feel rushed, crème brûlée was quite French!
google avatar

Rodger S.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the trout. It was crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. Excellent! My husband had the French onion burger & was very happy with it. The ambience was as it's always been--classy.

Yelp
I've been to this area in Bethesda several times and never tried Clyde's. Well finally gave it a try the other day and am now a fan! The food is really good here and the restaurant Is pretty big. My friend and I sat downstairs because there were some issues with the AC on the main level. I ordered the tea totaler as my drink. It was an alcohol free, green tea drink, flavored with cranberry , strawberry, basil, and lemon. The flavors worked so well together and it wasn't too sweet. A bit tangy maybe, but was perfect. For my meal I had the cornmeal crusted blue catfish. It was topped with a tomato based andouille sauce, green tomatoes and okra chow chow and served with a side of grits. The grits were so creamy and buttery and complemented the bold flavors of the catfish. The waitress suggested this meal and she was spot on. Such a comforting dish! My friend I split the brownie. It was huge and served with some vanilla ice cream and shaved almonds. I'm glad I finally tried this place. Such a treat.
google avatar

L M.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic! Food, service, ambience! Steak cooked perfectly (medium rare), cocktail was spot on! Very pleased to find this place late at night to eat!
google avatar

Kenneth K.

Yelp
Great Clyde's location. Went here with my wife. I forgot what we had to eat but it was delicious and we had a Chevy Chaser to drink with Natty Boh.
google avatar

Donna L.

Yelp
Clyde's used to be a regular favorite. Went by today for lunch, which was terrible. I had the lobster roll for $34 and there wasn't much lobster. The lobster that was there was chewy and overcooked. My husbands's hamburger was dry and overcooked. To top it off, the air conditioner has been in repair all summer. Not stopping by again for a long time.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
It's like an upscale Apple Bees or Red Robin-- lots of crazy crap on the walls, the tables are sticky, but the food is better. I liked the crème brûlée. Service was fine!
google avatar

Jason J.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. I've been here with now four generations of my family and we keep coming back. The food and waitstaff are always great. We came here for a Mother's weekend dinner and brought our two year old. The atmosphere has always been great for kids.
google avatar

Melanie R.

Yelp
Two friends and I met at Clyde's to plan a big December trip, and the experience couldn't have been more pleasurable. The server was terrific and attentive even though one friend arrived 30 minutes late due to traffic. He even brought us some cinnamon cake to tide us over! I had the bacon cheeseburger and my friends had bowls, then two of us split the peach cobbler. Food was great and overall, the best experience I've had at a Clyde's (not that the others have been bad--this one was just that good!).
google avatar

Marc L.

Yelp
I went here with my friend right before a ball and it was pretty good, the burger was solid and the hostess was really nice, the place was pretty empty on a Friday night and we even had time for dessert, we also ordered the wings and fries and those hit the spot. The ambiance is unmatched with cars, planes, trains and everything else lining the ceiling, they even have a working train circling the ceiling, just wow! 10/10 on everything 5/5 would recommend, will always be coming back
google avatar

Jacqueline V.

Yelp
Good all American menu options. They ran out of bread! Can you believe that? No buns, no bread for dunking, no bread basket. I guess the universe is saying no to carbs Small bar area, plentiful parking with validation. The service was on point, reflecting the Clyde's values. Not too noisy, good for business meetings, and good company, you can hear each other. Salads are delicious, fresh, and plentiful.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
We were cramped in a corner booth with very little room, we kept kicking each other under the table accidentally. Restaurant was empty at 5pm on a Monday, specifically asked for a table away from other people on the OpenTable reservation noted needing more privacy and we were seated right next to another table. We could've had some time to discuss business before the restaurant was busy if we were seated slightly away from other guests. Our service was very unfriendly and there was a hassle with our checks leaving my credit card unusable. The manager that assisted us didn't really help. Our food was lackluster and our overall experience was disappointing for spending over $230. The service aspect actually ruined our evening because he was so miserable with us but friendly with the adjacent table. All 3 of us left with a bad taste in our mouth.
google avatar

Caryn K.

Yelp
I came here with family on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The food was of great quality and our server was very nice, but there were a few things that I thought could be better, hence the 4 stars rather than 5. I don't intend to berate the restaurant, but rather supplement what others have probably noticed as well. For starters, the interior needs a face lift. I know people love the antique cars, but that doesn't mean that everything else needs to look like it was placed in the building at the same time. The lamp on the table didn't function, the wall I was facing was clearly missing a piece of art work and there was a very noticeable build up of dust on all the suitcases. Not to mention, it looked like the suitcases were weighing down the gold bars they were stacked on, as the overhead rails were all bending to the weight. One of our orders was suppose to come with cheddar and Swiss cheese, it clearly only came with Swiss. We also had one drink that was forgotten about until we were able to bring it to our waiters attention. Again, the food was fabulous and the server was very nice, but I guess to sum this up, some attention to the smaller details would make this review a 5 stars rather than 4.

Yelp
Best place for late night happy hour oysters anywhere around the DMV you can always find Clyde's!
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Great chili recipe is still unchanged Discovered Reuben and is new favorite Chef's salad was perfect accompaniment Service always on point
google avatar

Jonathan R.

Yelp
Still one of my favorite restaurants after all these years. Service is consistently good. Food is consistently excellent. Atmosphere is relaxed. And there's a parking lot across the street (Clyde's will validate).
google avatar

Mo B.

Yelp
All in all, I would not come again. Parking is decent. You can find street parking if you're lucky, but if not it's pretty easy to find parking garages around the area. The customer service was of poor quality, there was a strong disconnect with our server, and when I address our concerns; we weren't provided with a reasonable response. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to reach us, 40 mins for us to get bread for the table, and a whole hour for us to get our entrees (all within an hour). I requested the managers assistance and had expressed my concerns while trying to be as empathetic as possible asking if they were short staffed, but she immediately let us know that they're not short staffed at all and they're moving at normal pace. I ordered dessert and that took an additional 30 minutes, by the time I had paid my check, my whole experience was 2 hours of waiting at this restaurant. When giving feedback to that same manager she told us that we should have had said something sooner and that it was too late. Very disappointing. The food is limited, and decent. I ordered Oysters, the Spicy chicken, Sweet Sirracha wings, and Crème Brûlée. Everything I tried was pretty ok with taste but the Crème Brûlée was out of this world phenomenal; I would go back for just that amazing desert. As for the restaurant; there's nothing too fancy with the design of the restaurant. In that same breathe I would not Return to this restaurant
google avatar

Drew B.

Yelp
The remoulade and the greens really helped balance the spiciness of the calamari, which was tender and crispy.
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
The Clyde's at Chevy Chase has a nice large menu, a beautifully decorated space, and a very friendly waitstaff (shout out to our friendly server Andrew). The food was great. Take a look at the arancini, the Florentine Eggs Benedict and the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich (which IS spicy, so ordering the side of fruit helps to cool the month down afterwards!).
google avatar

Renee A.

Yelp
The great news is if you arrived to Bethesda / Chevy Chase area or arrived to one of the local hotels late in the evening, this restaurant is open until midnight. I did not find any other local restaurants open past 9 or 10 pm. There was a bar open across the street (nice looking), but their kitchen closed at 9 pm. This was a nice sized restaurant and had a definite throw back feel. The theme was cars and travel. I was quickly seated when I arrived. I was pleasantly surprised at size of the menu and the number of choices, especially so late in the evening. I was tired and was looking for something simple to eat. I also didn't think I would eat a big meal, so I wanted something that would be good to go and heat back up later as needed. I decided on the Loraine burger. A few points on the burger. The meat itself was cooked correctly and to the doneness I ordered. However, the bacon slices were extremely thin, the hamburger bun was only slightly warm. The burger was dressed with lettuce, cheese, a pickle and tomato. It came with fries on the side. The fries had a nice crunch to them, but they were also a served on the cool side. I'm giving this restaurant three stars because they were the only restaurant open late and I hope they continue to keep their late table service food hours for when I visit again. The food was decent, but wasn't anything special either. That's ok, this is exactly what I needed at the end of a long travel day from the West to East Coast. The staff were nice but often did get distracted chatting or doing clean up in their stations, so a little more attention to the guests would have been appreciated. A Plus - Pink was playing on the sound while I ate.

Yelp
This Clyde's was a cut above the rest... More than likely because of its location. Chevy Chase is a great area of the DMV to visit, hang out and dine! The service is exceptional with the staff being very attentive. Everything on the menu is cooked to your specific specifications.

Yelp
This is a classic fav!! I stopped by here for a quick dinner on the way home from an appointment. Always great service and yummy food! This place is enormous and boasts lovely decor and at least 3 bars! The downstairs is huge with a cool bar for watching sports or just hanging out! Always a good time at Clyde's!

Clara And Lily B.

Yelp
The food was really good, but took longer that I wished to come. The restaurant itself was very decorated and full of people. :) They had very good service there and even at the end they had 4 different servers come clear our table. We ordered kids chicken tenders and pasta for our selves. Crab cake and catfish sandwich for my parents they said it was good. Overall I would definitely come back even though I have! It was definitely a great place for the family.

Yelp
I like Clyde's. My wife and I lived in Washington, DC, for years, just inside the line separating the city from Maryland. We have a place there now, because of my elderly father, just a few blocks away from Clyde's, outside the line on the Maryland side. I am partial to the crab cakes. They would pass muster in neighboring Baltimore, the capital for this dish, in the generous, fat chunks of meat blended with a modicum of filler if any at all (there must be something to bind it). They have a cream of crab soup too. That is delicious with the perfect balance between rich and light. I have had the mussels and the raw oysters and the Rockefeller version. I've enjoyed the burger and the Reuben back when I was consuming more meat, the steak salad as well. Although these are all conventional, they are prepare to the utmost standard for each dish: they could be considered archetypal. My earlier posting mentioned the decor. It has not changed over the years thought it still looks good, so the comment is not a ding but an extolment: it's like a button down shirt that you had in college that is still suitable. The designer must like automobiles and trains. They have models. They also have posters and memorabilia related to racing. The servers are considerate. Once we had an inordinate wait for a cheese plate. The manager comped us. Some customer seated near us made a snide remark to the effect we had gotten away with something, one of those gratuitous comments from a stranger that makes me think ill of people. The restaurant treats its clientele well. That is what is important to me and likely others. I am updating my review because I am doing that systematically with my older writing here. As Mario Puzo said if The Godfather novel, he would have written it better if he had known so many people would be reading it. I have three facts to mention in addition. First, they are open late. I know of few if any better sit down restaurants that keep such hours. That is very useful. Second, they have live music downstairs. The list of acts indicates only Friday and Saturday. It was raucous and sounded fun, even from the brief exposure as we walked by upstairs. Third, they have outdoor seating and allow dogs. That is just what we are looking for. My wife immediately said we should come back more often. That is an endorsement.

Don P.

Yelp
Great service, nice environment, good food, good parking at garage with receipt that will be stamped from restaurant. It's no charge.

Yelp
Clyde's always delivers with consistent food and excellent service. The Clyde's at Chevy Chase is especially beautiful with great spaces that feel intimate and quiet compared to other restaurants of this scale. Great for get togethers and dates, or family outings.
google avatar

Juliana D.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant but if Garret isn't working we are leaving!! He's a great server, remembers our faces, our favorite dishes and even our previous wines, and family stories we have shared.. We have had multiple other servers here and the service is also so so disappointing. As a fellow server it really is disappointing! We come here about once a month, sometimes more! The food is always incredible! I recommend the crab dip, oyster Rockefeller, shrimp, linguine, trout, Parmesan. The mashed potatoes and green beans are always my go to side! The expresso martini is pretty decent and I love the deserts!
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
Had late lunch today group or three adults and two kids. Had a good youn male server he made it easy but I can't remember his name. Food was good to very good pancakes Reuben and Walter's sandwich. Kids meal was on point and wings for a appetizer were delish had two deserts to share brownie Sunday and strawberry shortcake again hit the spot if my family wasn't moving in a week we would go again

Karla M.

Yelp
great food!! friendly staff & everything overall was just amazing! Had a blast here, thanks staff!
google avatar

Lloyd D.

Yelp
Out first visit here and it was a little disappointing. The decor is dated. There were lights on our table we're clearly very old and the shades had dirt in them. Service was uneven and not overly friendly. We waited for periods to get noticed. The upside the food was hot and had tasted great. The Turkey sandwich with chutney and apples was worth the wait. There was a Clydes in Howard Co where I live that closed during COVID and didn't reopen. Chevy Chase should take notes from the successful location.

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner at Clyde's in Chevy Chase this evening. While the food was good, the service was extremely slow and inattentive--far below the standard I've come to expect from this restaurant. We were seated promptly and received our water quickly, but that was where the attentive service ended. We waited a long time for bread, which only arrived with our entrées after I asked a server assistant. The real issue came at the end of the meal--our check took so long to arrive that I eventually had to go up to the hostess stand just to pay and leave. What made the experience more concerning was that I observed our waiter actively engaging with other tables and appearing quite attentive to their needs. I'm not sure if race played a role, but it was hard not to notice the stark difference in service. I've dined at Clyde's for many years and have always had positive experiences, but tonight was deeply disappointing. I truly hope this was an isolated incident, but it left me questioning whether I would return.

Yelp
This Saturday (September 7) at 9 pm, FLASHBACK will rock the Race Bar downstairs at Clyde's with their usual infectious mixture of soul, rock, funk, blues, and jazz with a dance beat. You can order from the kitchen or the bar, enjoy the music, or dance till you drop. Or all of the above! NO COVER CHARGE. A good time awaits! They play here on the first Saturday of every month.

Yelp
Went to Clyde's last night as part of our" Staycation" at the Marriott- Fabulous server was so knowledgeable and had only been there a week, you go Jeff! Got the green salad, Parmesan trout ( hollidaise on the side), and the Catfish- Splendid meal, Same decor as 20 years ago... carpet could use a refresh. Otherwise, always a staple

Yelp
Sunday brunch was delicious, and the feel of the architecture is welcoming, warm, and peaceful. I felt like a calm potted plant sitting for a time in the booth with my stepfmother.

Yelp
Love the ambiance of this restaurant. The little train above the tables is such a cute touch. Service was very very friendly and food was delish.

Yelp
Clyde's has music on Friday and Saturday nights, downstairs in their little bar. We came across it randomly one night and it was awesome - except the bar tender that night seemed overwhelmed. My husband's drink came out right away but I waited for mine for about 25 minutes, and when it finally came out it didn't taste like anything described on the menu. He made up for the wait by giving us a free dessert. We came for dinner another night in their main dining room and it was nice. Very warm inside the building though. My friend has a strict diet and can't have gluten or dairy - we were pleased to see they had gluten free options for bread! My friend asked the waitress for no cheese on her burger but it came out covered in it so unfortunately we had to send it back. The new one came out perfect and the manager came by to offer us something to make up for it, but we politely declined. It was nice that he was attentive though!

Yelp
Came to meet some friends and of course I got my usual favorites. Mussels and the salad with salmon! The wait was not long, the staff was great and attentive.

Yelp
Ate here for dinner around 7pm. Not too busy. Very nice neighborhood. Clean outside and inside. Has inside and outside seating. Very nice and comfortable atmosphere inside. Staff is polite and professional. Prices are slightly higher but appropriate for offerings and upscale atmosphere. I ordered the chicken sandwich without the bun. Dont need the carbs. Food delivery took slightly longer than I expected, about 25 mins. It arrived hot and fresh. Very tender chicken and salad had a great taste. Waiter was given a large party of 12 people and spent most of his time with them. He only returned to give me the check. I didn't get a refill and decided against desert. I have learned when you eat alone, you may get a little less attention. Overall my experience was fair. I might return.

Yelp
I enjoyed Clyde's! This was my first ever visit. Initially, when reading the menu online, I was blown away by how many gluten-free options they offer. One of my girlfriends has a gluten allergy and we were impressed by the selection. I loved the Riesling, very yummy. Girlfriend loved the Moscato. I ordered the 'Lorraine' burger because it promised tangy mayo and arugula. There was no arugula!! A piece of lettuce, yes, but not arugula!! Not enough of the spicy mayo either. So, my conclusion about the Lorraine burger comes down to it's fine. Nothing tastes bad about it, it was just sort of a standard burger. Eh. I'd get a salad or something next time. Girlfriend ordered steak frites (isn't that dish supposed to be cut up steak?) and it came with arugula. I think the dishes were just confused somehow or something? Either way, they tasted good enough and our wine was great. We enjoyed having our server, I did not catch their name but they had blonde hair in a cute pink clip. They waited patiently while my friend and I goofed off and talked. Other staff were just as courteous and friendly as our server was!! I'd definitely come back to Clyde's because it has a nice 'vibe' to it (loveee the high ceilings, cool pictures, and a little train that goes around the restaurant ceiling!!) but might order another dish besides a burger.
