COA • CENTRAL ———— LOCATION———— 📍6-10 Shin Hing Houee, Central, Hong Kong Transportation: 9 mins walk from mtr station ———— SUMMARY———— Clean: Comfy and clean Price: Reasonable C. Preference : 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈 Asia’s 50 Best bars Taste: A list of signature drinks recommended by the bar. If you not satisfy with this list, they also have a menu book for drink. But you might take an hour to study this whole book. 😆 Anyways, we ordered two cocktails from their signature menu. All the drinks there are in Tequilla base. Smacked cucumber — Drink in beautiful presentation, I wasn’t a fan of Tequilla. But this drink have very strong Chinese ingredients ( Chinese Salad sauce), unique taste & very impressive. Ancho highball — Homemade Guava soda bring out specialty in this drink, light and refreshing. Easy to drink. Right cocktail as a first drink in bar. Tasty bar bites Atmosphere: Bar open at 6pm, we start to line up around 5pm. Always saw a long line up outside the bar, we start to come early this time and hope to get in the first round. A chill and comfy bar in Central, full of Mexican vibe, great ambiance. Warm lighting sets a cozy atmosphere for social, feel very nice to drink and chat after a long day of work. Free seating. Full house on Friday night Staffs are all friendly and lovely, willing to explain every detail of their drinks. . . . . . . . . . . . . #hongkongbar #coa #coahongkong #coahongkongbar #voyages #hongkongbestbar #barincentral #centralbar #asiatop50bars #bestbarhk #hkcentrallife #amazinghk #hongkongstyle #hkcentralbar #asiatop50 #solotraveller #foodadventure #hknightout #hkbar #barphotography #mixology #mixologist #hongkongnightlife #hongkongfoodies #hongkongfood #hkmixology #hkfoodie #cc_storybook

1. Be prepared to queue up to have a seat. Easiest is to pass by, register for the waiting list, go have dinner nearby and then hea a bit until it's your turn. They block your seat for 15min once they notify you by message (whatsapp or wechat). 2. Staff are all professional, friendly and efficient, knowledgeable. All staff are bartenders on rotation, meaning that even if a server is not behind the bar, they actually no all cocktails as they do them as well on rotational base. So, everyone is really on top of their game. During our second round, I ordered the wrong drink by mistake and realised only once they brought the drink. They had no problem to change it, very kind! Kaedyn was our server that night and did a fantastic job. Brian served us as well, toped up water and was very nice too! 3. Environment is chill, hip with hispanic music giving the whole place nice vibes. 4. Drinks ordered: • Bitter Melon Collins • Smacked Cucumber • La Chinesca • Pepper Smash To keep it short, all drinks were very good and unique. Some more refreshingy other more "flavours in your face". I would say that the drinks that have only Tequilla as base may be more easily similar to something you drank before than those with Mezcal or a mix of Mezcal and Tequilla as base, as the Tequilla is quite recognizable (way esoecially the case in "La Chinesca"). But overall, the cocktails are worth of their reputation and will make you happy for sure. Overall, highly recommend to try out this place, you won't regret!

Atmosphere 9/10 Pretty cool tropical-style bar with design elements around their main theme: Agave. By the way: “COA” is the tool which is used for harvesting agave. Sufficient bar seating, but also a lot of table/couch seats for groups. Nice backbar. Drinks 8.5/10 Recommendation: Coconut Milk Punch Very small menu, only agave-based signature drinks (mezcal and tequila), as per their theme. I was missing at least a couple of other liquor-base options. However, the mezcal sour and Coconut Milk Punch tasted great. They managed the balance of ingredients very well to reduce the strong smoky taste of mezcal. Nice glassware and cool coasters. Presentation and garnish are good too. Service 8/10 Very friendly team, English-speaking, water served immediately. They also serve complimentary snacks. Be prepared to arrive half an hour before opening or wait for more than an hour in line, since they don’t take reservations. Prices are below average for Hong Kong. This bar is ranked #4 Asia’s Best 50 Bars 2024 and #18 in the world. Indeed, a great cocktail bar for a casual drink in Hong Kong.

Hailed as the best bar in HK for multiple years and rightfully so. Each cocktail we had was exquisite, well-thought out, and had layers of flavors while exposing your palette to what tequila and agave can do. I could give you descriptions of each cocktail we experienced but why spoil the surprise? — treat yourself to something nice: cocktails at Coa.

I went at 17:25 on a Sunday.  I was the first in line and first in as soon as it opened.  If you don't want to wait hours, then do the same!  You can't make a reservation.  I had a drink here and then dinner somewhere else after.  A line quickly started to build after this around 17:40.  As one person, I was seated at the bar which I didn't mind.  I got to see the masters at work!  Really cool.  They opened punctually.  You don't need to dress up.  Most people were very casual, in trainers too.  Staff are super friendly and nice.  Really lovely.  Nice venue.  Intimate, dark, loved the music and vibe.  They give complimentary water and a bowl of crisps.  Extensive drinks menu plus snacks too.  I went with a signature classic cocktail, the grapefruit-spiked mezcal and tequila blend, La Paloma de Oaxaca.  The worm salt around the rim of the glass added a nice salty kick.  Watching the bartender making it and explaining to me about the ingredients was pretty cool.  Not cheap but worth a treat.  I can see why this is ranked in 2024 by 50 BEST.  Coa comes in at number 18 on the list of the 'World's 50 Best Bars'.  Staff don't rush you despite the line.  I only had one cocktail as a solo traveller, I needed to watch my alcohol intake but would have liked to try more. Highly recommend.

COA is strategically located. The interior decoration is dark and romantic, and each table has a small candle. COA‘s cocktails have a unique taste, and the waiter is very friendly.

Deserves being Asia’s #1 bar. We first went on Saturday and there was a huge queue, then went back on Sunday and it was much more reasonable. You still need to get your name written in the queue if are not among the first waiting; because the place is small. But worth waiting And trying their super tasty and creative cocktails. Service is also super good, staff is super nice. Highly recommended.

Google
Mexican inspired cocktails bar. Had one cocktail slightly before dinner, it’s worth the wait since it is the no. 1 cocktail bar in Asia for year 2023. Just be there 30 mins early to be able to enter for the first seating. Staff displayed professionalism in explaining the cocktails and when doing recommendations. Would visit this bar again when I visit HK.

Yelp
Ranked number 1 bar in Asia and number 20 in the world ... tbh not sure how it got this ranking . No reservations, need to go there physically and put your name on the waitlist. They will lyk/text you when your number 5. Be ready to wait 2-3 hours. Cocktails are mostly mezcal or tequila base. Cost is about $15-20 usd . Not bad price. Save your time , there are a lot of better bars in Hong Kong and nearby.

Yelp
#1 bar in asia i get it. got in line 45 minutes before opening on a saturday night, we all were sitting on the steps. they take your name and party and seat you very accordingly so i didn't get in till 6:15 solo dined and got seated at the very end of the bar next to the walk so i felt a bit forgotten about incredible drinks. strong too! some are premixed given the high volumes of them. truly can't go wrong they provide chips also

Yelp
Had a super long wait (~2 hours), but luckily they have an app to tell you where you are in line so you can look with anticipation. The drinks were great though! Does that make it all worth it? Probably! Just go get noodles while you wait or something. The way they use mezcal is incredible and fresh. Would definitely recommend you check it out. I would go early if you don't feel like waiting.

Yelp
Very good calbee chips. I also enjoyed the beef pho and cucumber salad. Good ambiance for the jungle themed washroom outside. Taking away a half star because there were many stairs to get here and I was sweating. 10/10 wud recummend.

Yelp
We put our name on the list for 3, shortly after the bar opened on a Sunday evening. We got a text message that the table was ready about an hour later. We tried coming on a Saturday night and it was pretty impossible getting in. They stop taking names after a certain amount of people are one the queue. When texted that our table was ready, We were welcomed with a bowl of complimentary potato chips. We got one drink each and to be honest, they were all underwhelming. Not sure how this bar is rated #1 Asia best bars. We were at Quinary to wait for our seats at COA, and Quinary had way better drink selections that were crafty. If you're into tequila and mezcal, maybe this is the spot for you. The bar had a fun vibe. The size of the bar isn't very big, which explains the long wait time. Give it a try for the experience.

Yelp
Fun tequila bar, hard to find good ones in Asia. Snacks were delicious. Loved our server, Michelle. She's super knowledgeable and made great recommendations.
