Some Indian American Restaurants Are Beginning to Embrace Beef | Eater Chicago

"At Coach House, James Beard–recognized chef Zubair Mohajir has traditionally shied away from serving beef on his tasting menu as a form of respect to customers, though his newer projects do include beef offerings." - Ashok Selvam

Came here because I know Coach House to be opened late. After a little change, the renovations are lovely. Martin was our server and he was attentive. The trio appetizer and burgers were delicious. Will be back to try the rest of the menu!

The atmosphere was very relaxing with all the beautiful decorations and calm music playing in the background. The food was great as well. However, the people I came here with are regular costumers who have eaten here for 50 years. They said the menu has completely changed, there are less options, and each food item is now too expensive. It was a very disappointing experience and they will probably not return here. Also, I wish the menu would mention everything that's in the food. I was disappointed to find that there was bread in my dish when I cannot have gluten, but it wasn't mentioned on the menu. But other than that, the food was very delicious.

came here on a whim, the first time since the remodel.. and WOW! Martin was our server, he was super accommodating and kind. We ordered the tomahawk steak and 2 salads and everything was prepared perfectly. We will definitely be back.

I called on 1/9 for A WHOLE TIRAMISU CAKE, it was for my brother’s B-day. My sister in law picked it up on 1/10 The dissapointment with the cake is REAL!! I spoke with the manager Deana and she asked to send pictures of the cake, however i never heard back from her. I even reached out today monday 1/12 asking for a follow-up and i was left on seen AGAIN!! I payed $48 for a BS as cake. Deff not ordering again from this place very dissapointed with the service, i dont understand why she asked for the pictures she failed to follow up with me and even worse left me on seen on both ocassions!!! I could’ve easily bought another cake from SHOPRITE and with a much better presentation, you can clearly see the bread sticks missing and the size of the cake is ridiculous!!!

Google
A very well-located place with excellent service, high-quality food, and very reasonable prices that truly give you more than what you pay for. I ordered the Wednesday lunch menu, which offered top-quality dishes at a competitive price. The waitress’s attention toward me was exceptional and very warm. The place itself is beautiful, with a magical décor. Without a doubt, I plan to return to dine at Coach House

Google
I genuinely liked Coach House. In the beginning they were good and consistent. Lately food quality and quantity has been disappointing. Also I have had a few issues with take out orders. Today I placed an order for delivery. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe (photo attached). $14 for this and look at the amount of fries given. That’s ridiculous. There were barely any fries. Also, you receive different fries every time. Sometimes it’s crinkle fries, then sometimes it’s regular fries. I used to order breakfast, and as part of breakfast you would get toast, 2 slices. Now you receive 1 slice of toast that is barely even toasted. Why only 1 slice of toast? That’s so odd. Another time I called to place a takeout order and was told that I wasn’t “allowed” to order a kids chicken fingers for takeout for my daughter. I then asked to speak to a manager because what kind of ridiculous policy is that. The manager I spoke with ended up accommodating but she also asked if it was for a child. I guess you’re not allowed to order kids chicken fingers because they think an adult is getting it for themselves. Regardless, if I want to get chicken fingers and I’m paying for it, what does it matter? The next situation I had was just last week, where I ordered grilled chicken and a side of home fries. When I went to pick it up, I was asked if I have ordered that before, which I have. Then I was told that I wasn’t “allowed” to order grilled chicken. At this point I’m annoyed because I’ve already had previous issues with Coach House. I then wait to speak with the manager and I was told that I needed to order a grilled chicken dinner and not a side of grilled chicken. Well put it on the menu then. My husband has stomach issues and can only eat a handful of things and he likes the grilled chicken. But yet I wasn’t allowed to order that? That’s absurd. My guess is because it was charged as a side and not a whole $20 meal. It’s disappointing because I genuinely liked Coach House. Lately though, all of these issues make me not want to order from them anymore or even go there. Coach House please do better. I have been a customer for years, this is not the level of service that one should be given.

Google
Hosted my best friends proposal in the Red Room & everything came out perfect !! Diana and Elena accommodated all our needs & our server Julius was super attentive. We had a delicious dinner & a great time celebrating our friend. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated for Christmas !! Would recommend 100% and will definitely be coming back for dinner.

Google
Excellent menu, great prices, live music on Friday nights. The Cabernet Sauvignon that was served was exquisite. The only things that bothered me was that the wild mushrooms croquettes (pictured) were actually just mashed potatoes, and the tacky violinist playing tacky music for an hour between the live jazz sets. Luckily the friends I invited for the jazz act had a good attitude.

Yelp
Me & a girlfriend stopped by for breakfast I had eggs over easy beacon we'll done potatoes well done " the classic " I also ordered well done tayor ham. I really was hungry. Everything was perfect the potatoes were done nice lil onions beautifully cooked potatoes they had a reddish yellow color. Every where I've been going lately they give potatoes that are very bland, like boiled no flavor. The coffee excellent. I really was very happy with my food. The orange juice was incredible no way was that normal oranges. The orange juice was like the orange juice on the broad walk in the 70s. I must mention how lovely everyone who works there is,it's appreciated. They had the place decorated for Halloween it was done incredible inside and outside . Thank you to all who made my morning a good one!

Yelp
I'm a regular here, and honestly tonight was quite an experience. My boyfriend made a reservation in person for his birthday, for 25 people on a Friday night. We have a great experience until the bill came, and there is a "Sat fee" which is 20% of the bill. I've been in the restaurant industry for 10+ years and I've never seen a sat fee. When I brought it up to the manager they said they told us about a contract we had signed that allowed them to charge this 20% sat fee... I told them I never signed a contract nor was I told about a 20% sat fee. Essentially a sat fee is them charging them for a "gratuity" for the house on top of the server gratuity. They charge sat fee for parties of 6 or more on FRIDAY SATUDAY AND SUNDAY AFTER 7PM They never found the contract and then they took it off the bill, it was an extra $260 on top of the 20% gratuity for tip of server.

Yelp
Used to go here when it was the Coach house diner It's now a steakhouse. The food was very good. Service was good and the ambience was very pretty They still have the same cheesecake that the diner used to have

Yelp
The staff was very friendly. A little less interaction would have been nice. The charred octopus was excellent. Pork Belly was also delicious. Wasn't crazy about the Mac & cheese lobster. We ordered filet mignon medium well. One of the steaks was too rare. If I eat ate a steak house I expect the steak to be cooked exactly the way I ordered it.

Yelp
I've been coming to coach house for over 10 years and I have to say I was extremely surprised of the new renovations. It is completely stunning love what they did to the place and the decorations are beautiful, but the food was even more amazing. I had the Chilean Seabass just delicious and my date had the Bronzino just as delicious. I will definitely be coming back sorry I forgot to take pictures of the food but of course I took a picture of my drink lol It was also pretty good the coach fashioned! The host was super nice, friendly and very professional. I was there on a Wednesday evening.

Yelp
Great place for a drink and a bite! I got a mimosa and a Coach House Salad for lunch around noon. The salad was delicious and very unique with the heart of palms. Loved finding this place since our Airbnb was super close. There was some vegetarian options like a veggie burger. Not sure if there were many GF options, which is why I stayed safe and got a salad.

Yelp
We had simple food it was good Service was good I did enjoy the sax player it set for a romanic setting for a diner it was ver nice they do have a great bar and with the sax player great combo. Ive been going to the coach house for over 50 years A lot of huge changes up and down I remember when they stayed open 24 7 And the juke boxes on top of the counters I hung out here with my best friend at that time god rest his soul. I knew the people who owned the corner property on paterson plank what now is part of the parking lot. All the ada taxi drivers came here to buy great coffee to keep us awake all night Alot of great memories If you are a part of hudson county you inherit the coach house as. Part of your culture and tradition. Come and eat at the coach new owners since nov make good memories here with your families wives girlfriends and kids bring your cousin's aunts uncles. Stop going to chain restaurant. Come to the couch house where the staff make a personal wonderful experience for you and your guests. Plus you request your favorite wait staff member Im 60 year old chef and i can tell you i sit here and i remember all my good memories i cherish the ones with my mom and dad the most They are gone but i still have the memories from this place God bless all of you i hope and pray all of you enjoy this place as much as i did today Live music Fridays and Saturdays sometimes on Sunday i was told This diner is very nice its a little more than a diner

Yelp
Haven't posted in awhile but this has to be posted about the Coach House diner, as you know they have new owners and their diner/steakhouse. I went the other day and ordered a Seafood Marinara over linguine, the seafood was ok but they only gave you a little of the linguine, maybe they ran out of it I don't know and for $28.95 it's not worth it, they cut back on food and charge you more. Tonight I bought two small cups of coffee, it's cost me $8.42, are you kidding me? I don't see this diner making it with those prices, it's insane and damn shame, guess's they never heard the saying: "If it ain't broke don't fix it". And they also eliminated the salad bar which one of the best around. Never going back again, left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yelp
How is this acceptable? $14 for a cheeseburger deluxe and look at the amount of fries given. Coach House has been very inconsistent. You order breakfast and you're given 1 pice of toast. Not 2, but 1. Which isn't even toasted. I have had 2 instances where I was told I wasn't allowed to order kids chicken fingers for takeout for my daughter, and the other was I was told I couldn't get grilled chicken. It's disappointing. Service level has definitely decreased.

Fran P.

Yelp
We went there because they have Egg Benedict on their brunch menu. It was pretty obvious they have no idea what hollandaise sauce is. It was pale orange with heavy seasoning. A far cry from the light yellow delicate sauce it should be. It was uneatable. The Coach was always the neighborhood place with good food. It no longer is! Even the seats were uncomfortable. I'm sure they just want to be a bar. One wall looked like it has artificial flowers glued on it. A kid's craft project. It looks very cheap.

Yelp
Not a diner. Awful setup, I'd never come back. lol what a joke. They are trying to make it like a bar club hahaha no food worthy of attention in fact I assume they food demand is so low that if you ordered something they would be so so so shocked that the delivery would be hilarious .. like I'd love a live feed of the kitchen when an order comes in lol .. had pass .. huge shame use to be a real NJ diner .. now it's a waste of time space etc .. knock it down build the inevitable bs condos lol or whatever.. man I was so dissatisfied and disappointed like the waitress even knew she was like yea we have like 2 burgers want a burger but yea I get it we don't do food like good .. haha zero rating. It's. It a diner at all .. the music is 2008 club no. Real food like 17 items on menu

Yelp
First time at this restaurant. It was a Wednesday evening around 5:30pm and might had 5 couples here for a big place made me feel did I make a good decision lol. Was seated right away I sat in bar area someone posted bar being very bright but at this time lights down low. Decorate for Christmas looked very nice . To start i ordered the French onion soup broth very good and cheesy. I ordered a Steak with mashed potatoes and a Cedar salad. I ate the soup forgot to take pictures sorry. Ok so the dishes looked great . I asked waiter about the steak before I ordered and wanted a tender or your best steak. It was very thin and chewy. Hope there was a language barrier rather than this was their best steak. Everything else was just ok. So for $52 plus tip should have just went to Texas Road house. But had to try.

Lisbeth T.

Yelp
Went in for a quick breakfast but it seemed like they had an event going on Dj and all and vendors as well. A bit odd since it's a dinning restaurant. They still sat us down and took our drink order. But after 20 minutes of waiting for the waiter to come back and take our order we decided to leave because it seemed like they were prioritizing recording their event for social media. (It's in their instagram page) They were walking around with their phones recording everyone (very uncomfortable) and themselves with a mimosa in their hand all while they had their customers waiting. If they are going to have events like this they should just tell people they can't provide service for the day.

Yelp
I have been coming to Coach House for the better part of 30 years now and I will say that the new updates are INCREDIBLY disappointing. I will start off by saying that service was great and while it felt a little new, it was sincere and it's always appreciated. The food now is absolutely atrocious. The original Coach House diner recently rebranded itself as a steakhouse and interestingly enough got rid of one of their best steaks from their time as a diner, the prime rib. I came here and ordered three appetizers, the mushroom croquettes, calamari, and the garlic shrimp. The appetizers are fine, good even but not worth the price. I ordered, what I was told is, a 14oz rib eye medium rare and I was highly disappointed by the very thin, very pale steak that came out. Sending it back to be seared would have certainly meant it'd be overcooked but having this kind of steak from a "steakhouse" is ABSOLUTELY a no go for me. The cream of spinach was bland, and gelatinous. The mashed potatoes were good but just acceptable, again, for a steakhouse. The steak itself tasted good but it's a far cry from what would be expected of a steak from a steakhouse. The desserts and drinks were actually good and I think this is where this place shines. In the end, this place isn't a steakhouse. It isn't a diner. I don't know what it is or what it's trying to be, but it definitely needs work.

Chris G.

Yelp
Food was absolutely bland. No love, no soul. The rebranding and vibes inside are so fake it's obvious they hired an interior designer or consultant to simply make this place social media friendly. It feels like you're at a TJ Maxx inside. What was a solid diner in the area is now sadly, a pretentious, "steakhouse"

Rolando G.

Yelp
Great place, loved my food and my expreso martini was perfect Very pleased with the service

Yelp
I ordered French toast with bacon and a slice of dulche de leche cheese cake. I received the cheesecake but did NOT get the French toast and bacon albeit the receipt saying that's what was in the bag. It sucks to order something and don't get it. I instead received turkey club and fries. The fries weren't even done. And the grease that they are cooked in made them taste awful. I threw them out! Didn't even eat all the turkey club because it's NOT what I wanted. I was told "I" had to reach out to UberEats because they didn't have access!! YOU MESSED THIS ORDER UP! Then I was told they'd make my order but I have to come pick it up. Ma'am! If I had the capability to do that, I wouldn't have used UberEats!! Needless to say I am thoroughly annoyed!!!

Rita M.

Yelp
The restaurant has been transformed to a luxurious destination. The bar is beautiful. We've been here a few times already. The food is delicious. One of my favorite appetizers is the Tropical Trio which consists of guacamole, pork chicharrón and crispy tostones. AMAZING! I had the Chargrilled Chicken Argentino for my entree. The chicken is marinated in chimichurri. This was wonderful as well. Dessert-the diner's renowned cheesecake-yummy! Our waiter Julius was very polite and did a great job taking care of us. We wish the new owners lots of success!

Yelp
Coach House was a traditional diner with an ample menu. The owner must be rolling over in his grave at what it has become. This is what happens when hard working immigrants come to this country and build a business to only leave it to their ill suited children. Now on to the changes which have occurred. The whole place has been redone which must have cost a pretty penny and that will translate to increased costs to the patrons. There is a lot of wasted space which I am sure they will figure out eventually. The whole interior is very dark with black wood appointments. The service is mediocre or poor at best but the blame should not be on the wait staff but the POS and the ordering system they have installed. This is another measure to reduce food costs and not allowing the wait staff to go into the kitchen and do something as simple as grab bread service for the table. Instead they are entering everything to account for food costs at the loss of time and service for the customer. Lastly let's talk about the food. We were given three menus. The brunch menu, a menu which is the future dream of the restaurant, and the diner menu. I was there for Mother's Day and ordered from the diner menu. The dream menu had noticeably higher prices and was restricted in offering. I went with a bowl of clam chowder which was good but almost the same taste as the cream of chicken which is a favorite only served on Sundays. Yes I have gone there in Sundays for the cream of chicken was that good. We asked for the garlic bread which came 25 minutes later before our entrees. This was due to the POS as explained by the server. I ordered stuffed shrimp for my Mom at a $35 which provided four supposedly jumbo shrimp which comes to $8.75 a piece for restaurant depot made shrimp. I sampled it and found it lacking in flavor and buttery lemon sauce which the menu described. I ordered chicken Francese which was nothing as the previous dish which I had many times before. Basically they took a chicken breast and they sliced it thinly with a sauce which had no lemon or wine taste. I also asked for it over linguine. What I got was a sauce which was watery and tasteless. Overall it was not a good experience. I recommend you judge for yourselves but if this continues with the celebrity chef and the POS, I do not see the Stage Coach lasting more than a year with this evolving business model.

Jason S.

Yelp
The food was delicious! I tried the new Tomahawk Steak and it was delicious! Amazing! The new interior is really nice and updated. If you're in North Bergen, this is the new spot to be.

Yelp
Manager great. Service sup par Near my office and I have to give this a review only because I pray management reads this and steps up the bread game. I often have had the house burger and every time knowing I shouldn't I do. They need to understand the bread makes the burger and as many times as I've ordered this burger the BREAD is the worst I've ever had. The burger fits the meat (bigger by 1/8 of an inch in circumference) but the reason is it always falls apart and it's flat with sesame seeds. Who orders this bread should really go do a bunch test because at 13.00 for a burger you gotta do better. Cole slaw that comes with it is bland but hey you pick your poison. I'd like to go there and order the burger and finish it for a change aside from being disgusted by the bun that falls apart.

Stephen V.

Yelp
To be honest I haven't been for anything but a horrid breakfast after they first opened. Had been going to the Coach House for 19 yrs, all the servers knew and we rotate who we sat with. We met with and spoke to the owner - she wanted to a feel for their customers. She said some updates and changes but it wouldn't change much - actually lied to everyone she talked to that night that the salad bar would come back. They can't cook eggs and sausage for breakfast and based on the reviews they can't cook a hamburger either. It's fun to drive mornings and afternoons and count the cars. The videos are staged and the we all loved has been ruined.

Milady R.

Yelp
My family went here for a late night snack last night. The food was good, and the service was Great!! We had, Luis Hernandez, as our server. He is an asset to your diner. He is polite, engaging and a delight! Thanks to him we had a delightful experience!
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
Large place! Even larger menu!! I came for dinner and tried the chicken pot pie. Enjoyed the filling, but really wasn't a fan of the crust which I was bummed about. I had a slice of the strawberry cheesecake for dessert and it was amazing. I probably liked it better than my entree. Service from all staff encountered was great. One thing I recognized, there was a new staff training answering to go orders. I appreciated the other staff being patient while learning the system and teaching her peer.

Yelp
Under the weather and craving comfort food, nothing was going to compare to some old school diner grub. And it doesn't get much more old school in Hudson County than Coach House. I ordered up a white meat roast turkey dinner and a linzer tart. The food was delivered quicker than expected and, oh man, was it a classic diner spread. A heaping container of Greek salad (green peppers, mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, red onion, feta in a mild vinaigrette), four slices of garlic bread, a decently packed container of creamed spinach, and a huge takeaway of turkey slices atop stuffing and cranberry sauce with gravy. Nothing was exactly out of this world, but it was immensely satisfying (and the turkey was thankfully not dry). More than enough for two filling meals.

Yelp
Came to Coach House today after two years! Havent been since 2020 during pandemic and dining was in the parking lot. Their breakfast is still delicious! I ask fir my bacon crispy and eggs scrambled hard and they did jist that. Great server!

Yelp
Going to make one review but have visited a few times. Great job with the renovations and look. Place looks really nice. Overall everything is better. Food is really good. Drinks also look great. I can say that it definitely has a great feel on Saturday night. The only negative about it is that it closes at 2am. Not that it is an issue closing at that time but it is the way it is done. Basically, lights go up and music goes off. Not sure why they do it this way. The place has a great feel and has quite a few tables with some guests at bar it is all ruined by this action. I get that liquor is no longer sold and yes the kitchen can close but guests are still eating...at the very least wait till the last tables have finished their dinner to close it up. Coach House is not cheap and it is doing a lot of things right but the closing needs to be more in line with the better experience it is giving. You have to let people finish dining.

Deb P.

Yelp
They ruined an old time classic. We went for brunch on Sunday. It felt more like a night club setting with the loud music. You have maybe 3 choices for breakfast. I got the eggs benedict which was a hard boiled egg with gloopy sauce over it. My friend had penne with vodka sauce which was bland and mushy. The only good thing about the "new" Coach House was our waitress who was friendly but not very knowledgeable about the menu, which, by the way has been cut down drastically. Certainly not the Diner it used to be. Will not be going back again!

Patricia M.

Yelp
I've been going to the Coach House since I'm a little girl all the deaths in my family during the intermission of the viewings we would always go to the Coach House and I just recently visited the Coach House and the food is horrific I ordered a burger medium well I got it rare the fries were cold it was a horrifying. And I was sitting there the guy behind me was complaining that his soup was cold

Annette C.

Yelp
My review is today 7/15/2025. If you look at positive reviews they are from 3months ago to 1 year ago, before new management took over. Today it was horrendous. I ordered Breakfast Combo with side of bacon. Asked for moist scrambled with crispy bacon and hash browns with toast and pancakes. Eggs were hard and dry, crispy bacon was black and burnt, hash browns burnt and to break in half with my hands they were so hard, no toast. To add insult to injury waitress said she discount order by 5.00, not even 1/2 price Top it off pancakes were ice cold. Didn't want to argue, simply would not even waste my money there again. I would have walked out but I took insulin so I ate hard eggs and1 ice cold pancake until I could get home and eat. If a restaurant can't prepare a simply breakfast, can't trust them to prepare a 40.00 steak.‼ Also my sister ordered gravy on fries and didn't get it. Think twice before wasting money at the Coach House

Jose R.

Yelp
They renovated, shortened the menu, and the food is not the same. Looks nice but it's as much appealing as it was before. You need friendly people behind the counters, not people that are blah.

John D.

Yelp
let me go on record and officially name this the best diner in NJ!! with so many going away and the few left standing, corners are cut. This placd is perfect all around. A MUST FOR GREAT FOOD - this is not a typical diner.

Dave L.

Yelp
Generally food was mediocre at best. Prices are outrageous, don't match up with the various "specialty" menu prices, and they got rid of the one thing that made me want to come back, the diner aesthetic. Now it looks like somebody came in, tore everything that made it honey and unique down for a "5-star fine dining" aesthetic only to fail catastrophically. Truly so much better with the old owners.

Allison L.

Yelp
Had the best experience with my family! Food was so delicious! Julias was amazing! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
I just heard this place is closing, so for nostalgia's sake, I'm here to leave my last 0 Star review. 20 years ago, they were the BEST. 10 years ago, it was a nice place for a decent meal at a good price. 5 years ago, they cried about the pandemic and the neighborhood stood with them when they got us to pay $25 for terrible pasta. Recently, they announce they're closing for good. About time. It's not the closing of a beloved eatery, as much as an obnoxious act of hubris. It's not sad they are closing, but it's embarrassing that they had the nerve to hold out this long. Bye.

Yelp
I haven't been here in years, and I wasn't sure what to expect looking at the reviews on here, but things were great this morning. We came here for my birthday brunch and had a great time. All three of us were interested in the cheesecake pancakes, so we figured we would share. I ordered the pancakes, my daughter ordered the French toast and my friend ordered eggs with corned beef hash. The cheesecake pancakes are incredible. Not only are they sinfully delicious, but they give you enough to serve a small army. All three of us shared and there was still some left on the plate. We were all stuffed. Everything was delicious and fresh, and service was great. I didn't get our server's name but she was very nice. Yes, prices have gone up because of covid, but it wasn't outrageous. I thought everything was great and I would definitely go back.

Yelp
3 people at the table to eat food comes out for 2 after 11 minutes I get the waiter's attention and he was like oh we had a computer problem it's coming soon .. he know dam well he just put my food in .. I told him I didn't want it anymore .. really people don't think I will go back

their gyro platter with greek salad always on point and filling matched with raspberry ice tea this time , service was great , and as soon as we were seated , glass of water was automatically served and serving of bread is optional and upon request , staff will ask you. The place is big and lots of seats - it's perfect for family with intimate / casual sections , also short of a sports bar serving alcohol et al. great place- lots of parking space. highly recommended.

Yelp
They definitely limited their menu since the last time I went here which is understandable. But dang I was really in the mood for a shrimp quesadilla!!! Oh well, I got the Thanksgiving sandwich which was yummy. Even if it's March, don't judge me thx. My friend got a burger which looked pretty dry but he got it well done so that makes sense. The chicken parm was rly big and rly good. The fries were alright, typical diner fries. The pickles were nice n big and no one at the table liked pickles so I got them all muahahaha. Anyways the service was good, there's lots of parking and lots of space inside. The food was pretty much what you would expect for a diner, but this diner has alcohol so I will always come back.

Yelp
Although the food and service is commendable the inflated prices is not suited for the average diner customer. They were reasonable until covid hit. If you are close to the Broadway Diner go there.

Yelp
Road trip and we didn't want to stop some place to eat but had little mouths to feed. We ended up ordering 2 parsonage cheese pizzas (1 for tomorrow), 1 chicken finger appetizer, 1 grilled cheese with bacon and tomato, 1 waffle, some garlic bread and 3 cafe con leches. Though the online order said 45 mins, the gentleman behind the counter said to give them 15 mins. I haven't tried my coffee yet but 5 stars because what we put in our mouths were spot on. The atmosphere inside was pretty calm on a Friday night and would love to come back with some friends for some breakfast or brunch. Thank you!!

Yelp
Five stars on vibes, 3.5 stars on food quality, 6 stars on food quantity, and 5 stars for bangin cocktails at a great price. The pre-dinner snacking bread is scrumptious and varied. You get a nice little assortment of delectable breads. To start we ordered a Caesar salad and a French onion soup. The soup was rich and delicious, the salad was fine. After, my partner ordered eggplant parmigiana and it was good. Even more notable is it was BIG AS HECK. I ordered the grilled chicken nachos and again, huge portions, fair quality. Did it blow my mind? No. But it was good. To drink we had the tiramisu cocktail and the espresso cocktail. Both were strong and delicious. We were afraid they would be too sweet but that was not the case. They were truly perfect. I have also come here for years for breakfast. Breakfast is the same deal. You get the exact flavor you're expecting, in jumbo portions. Do you want a classic diner experience but with gorgeous old oak paneling and carved walls? Perhaps you feel like looking out through some stained glass windows? You want to pick any number of deserts from a vitrine? Well, come here for the first two! The service is good; friendly waitstaff, expert bartenders. They have plenty of parking. I'm from jersey city and I've been coming here for years.

Yelp
I wanted to leave a 4 star rating because I noticed they had only 3 star overall and I had a pretty good experience. My mom and I shared an order of Mozzarella Sticks and the Guac Burger with onion rings. The mozz sticks were hot and fresh and the marinara sauce was good. The burger was really good. Cooked how we ordered it , the burger came kinda deconstructed which really worked for us sharing. The only complaint I had was the onion rings which I ordered crispy came out burnt in spots. The waiter was nice and friendly and the restaurant was clean. Overall don't think they deserve in a 3 star rating they have.

Yelp
Typical diner they give you a lot of food but also it's a lot of money. There is a lot of parking by the coach house and then also across the street and of course there's street parking. They belong ours again because it is a diner there's desserts breakfast lunch everything that you could possibly need. Food comes fast and the staff are friendly enough after you pay you bring your ticket up and pay at the counter. Booth seating.

Yelp
This place is cute and vintage. Staff are super friendly and gave great recommendations. The calamari was perfection and so were the milkshakes. So good. The salad soup and bread were also good. Steak and fish were cooked well. The sides that came with the entrees were good too. The sauce that comes with the sweet potato fries should be sold in bottles lol. I just didn't like that it was cold in the restaurant and that the server took longer to attend us.

Yelp
I went to the North Bergen location for dinner with a large group. The renovations made are very tasteful and they really did a beautiful job with the upgrades, very classy. As starters we ordered the grilled octopus and fried calamari. They were both delicious. We also got the lobster bisque and other soups and they were also delicious. I ordered the pork chop with mashed potatoes and jumbo asparagus and also delicious. The other guests ordered chicken parmigiana, chicken francese, broiled salmon, pan seared salmon, pork chunks and various sides and everyone was very pleased. The service was good and the cocktails were well made too. All the desserts we ordered were great especially the carrot cake which is amazing. The experience was very pleasing in every way. I hope they keep the restaurant in the beautiful, CLEAN condition it is in now and the only thing that can be improved is portion size. Portions can be a tiny bit bigger and then I believe they'll rock forever. I highly recommend them if you want a nice experience.

Yelp
Pretty standard diner. All the menu items you could ask for. They have a big parking lot which makes life easy if you are driving there. Food is ok. 2.5 star place.

Yelp
Walked in around 11:30. Attentive staff, great food, great dessert, and clean. Would definitely recommend.
