Coast and Main Seafood and Chophouse

Coast and Main is the top restaurant to go to for special occasions that demand special memories combined with excellent home made food and exceptional service. All the food is wonderful. The 12 oz Filet Mignon medium rare is particularly tasty and the Asparagus and Green beans are well prepared and are of shareable proportions. I also have to call out Kelly who is the highest quality server my family and I have had at ANY restaurant. Her cheerful attitude, willingness to engage in banter and overall demeanor makes you feel like you are their one and only special guest every time you visit. She is the best and who we always request when making reservations. In conclusion Coast and Main is doing everything right and I am happy to patronize this locally owned upper class establishment for both regular dinners and special occasions.

We went here for brunch after a walk we did for charity. Our server was attentive, are food arrived in a timely fashion and the food was tasty. We also tried a few of the signature drinks and they were good.

Came here for restaurant week in Pittsburgh. Food was really good and the atmosphere was welcoming! I LOVED the Chicken Milanaise smothered in that creamy parmesan sauce and the seasonal cocktails were really good, I love a good mojito and spicy marg with tajin around the rim! It started to pick up and get busy but our server made sure to always check in and keep us informed about the status of our drinks and food! I hear the talks about their brunch so I will definitely be coming back to experience that!

I had been to this restaurant twice before with no issues, so I felt comfortable bringing my sister here to celebrate her birthday. Unfortunately, this visit was a complete disappointment. I initially ordered the salmon, which was completely tasteless not even basic salt and pepper. I sent it back and opted for the fish and chips instead, only to be let down again. The dish was extremely low quality and tasted like something straight out of a frozen food box. The service only made things worse. Our waiter lacked professionalism throughout the meal and became noticeably chippy at times. To top it off, after paying, I didn’t receive my card back. When I brought it to his attention, he responded with visible frustration, dropped a few curse words, and only then located my card. As of December 27, 2025, prices at this establishment have clearly skyrocketed, but the food quality and service have gone downhill. Paying more while receiving less is unacceptable, especially when you’re trying to celebrate a special occasion. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Food was good. VERY expensive. Greeters have the personalities of baked potatoes. Without the butter and sour cream. Server Jeff was great. Checked on us just the right amount of times. Had great recommendations. Drinks are phenomenal.

Attended a birthday dinner in private room. The food, service and atmosphere was very good. No complaints.

My boyfriend and I visited for PGH restaurant week and loved it! Zachary was a wonderful server and all 3 courses were delicious! Will definitely be back to try the regular menu!

Me and my fiancé came to Coast of Maine for the first time and the service was a 10. Julie was so friendly. The restaurant closes at 9 but they do let you still make a reservation at 9 pm. She didn’t act like “it’s the end of the night and she wants to go home.” Her energy was as if she just started her shift. She went over the menu with us and I could tell she really was suggesting good meals by the fluctuations in prices. Some waitresses will just suggest the meals with the highest price. She really went over some of the clients top meals and when I received my food I was not disappointed.

I ordered the Sea Bass. It was not what I expected. Had a broth with a few veggies. Such a good fish, I would rather had it baked, broiled or grilled Need to go back and try a different dinner The waiter was good

We went here to celebrate Mother's Day and made a reservation. Due to it being a holiday we expected it to be crowded. We had a 5:30pm reservation and weren't seated until 5:55pm. The table we were seated at was extremely disappointing as it was immediately by the doorway limiting mobility for wait staff and customers. It appeared that this table location was only used to meet the needs of extra customers. The area we were seated in was noisy. The menu consists of numerous delicious options. I ordered bone marrow as my appetizer which took 45 mins to arrive. Fortunately the restaurant comped my order due to the delay. The beef carpaccio was disappointing as it resembled roast beef and lacked flavor. The main courses were delicious. I would have loved to give a 5 star rating however this meal took way too long. Our dining experience took a total of three hours and we didn't even have dessert. Our waitress Sarah was ABSOLUTELY amazing. She gave great recommendations and extremely attentive.

I had high hopes but in the end it was just mediocre. Service was good, menu options were very limited and food quality was mediocre. Ambiance was way higher than everything but the service. Suggestions for improvement: 1) Ask your customers what they'd like to see on the menu specific to what you can make with what you have. 2) Get feedback on the food quality and taste rating. Good luck and I'll keep an eye out for good reviews, if you get them I'll give you another try.

Our 42 wedding anniversary. Very special place. I didn't know this place was in Monroeville. This will be our dinner date spot for the future, close to home and we don't need to go to the city for a nice restaurant.

Hidden upscale dining near the mall with poor customer service ... Decided to go to Coast and Main on a Thursday night. We were celebrating a milestone birthday for my mother-n-law. The restaurant wasn't busy and didn't look like they had staffing issues. When we were seated, our waitress Mary Pat wasn't very inviting at all. She was a bit slow to get our drink orders initially. We were seated a little over 10 minutes when she finally got our orders. She also wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu when asked. We showed her a steak from a picture on the restaurant site and asked her if she knew the cut. She quickly stated that she did not know. At around 100.00 per person, it would have been helpful for her to be knowledgeable of the menu. "I don't know"was unacceptable; nor did she go to a manager or anything to find out. She was very dry and non-friendly until it was time for a tip. Bread was placed on the table which we devoured because we were so hungry after our workday when we got there but, she never offered us another serving. Food was good. We were a bit disappointed as you can tell with our experience. We ordered: crab bisque - which was good Crab Tots We also selected several salads from the menu / Caesar, wedge and chopped; which everyone seemed to enjoy. For our meals we ordered 2 ribeyes medium well and 2 porterhouse steaks one medium and the other medium well. Sides were: au gratin potatoes (which the waitress forgot to bring when she brought our food originally) when we mentioned this to her - she made it appear that "We" forgot to order it the first time. wild mushrooms Twice baked potatoes Grilled Onions My husband asked for his porterhouse steak to be cooked medium. It came out closer to well done and was very dry. We think the waitress served my husbands steak with another guest but he didn't want to complain due to the waitresses attitude. I convinced him report it to get it corrected. He did but he had to sit and watch us eat while he waited for the correction. Total bill for 4 people was over 400 dollars. We split the check and we paid with a credit card and didn't have a problem. Our other guest tried to use $ 200 visa gift card and had complications. Waitress stated some policy which allowed her to leave a balance on the card for a tip or something which he was asked to pay the difference in cash. For the price we paid, you could go to Morton's, Ruth Chris or Capital Grille and have had a much better dining experience; especially if it's for a special occasion. Would have been nice if a manager would've came around and checked on us like they do at other high end restaurants. Rating was for the overall food and experience. First and Last Time. Pass..

My husband and I were in Pittsburgh to get our nephew moved into college at IUP this past weekend. My husband's birthday was Saturday but weather was terrible and we spent much of the day on campus. I decided to try to do an impromptu surprise birthday brunch for him on Sunday. I called the restaurant to see if they could accommodate my party of 10 and explained to them it was a surprise. The staff was amazing from the hostess that greeted us and played along with my ruse, our servers, Christina and Parker (who were new servers but you couldn't tell), to the amazingly charming owner, Chef Ricky Kirsop, who came out to say hello and was gracious enough to take a picture with us. We ordered a variety of items to include the Cajun shrimp and grits, avocado toast, steak and eggs, bacon wrapped shrimp, pineapple upside down pancakes, cannoli pancakes, breakfast burrito, prime burger and more. Everything was served promptly, hot and the taste was amazing! You can tell the difference when restaurants use quality ingredients and take care with food preparation. We also had delicious cocktails including the Royal Hawaiian, the Patio Punch and the Guava Margarita. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an upscale coastal decor. It set the tone for an elegant yet understated brunch that was perfect for our family celebration. We plan to return whenever we visit Pittsburgh. I'd love to try dinner next as brunch was awesome!

We celebrated my birthday here on Christmas Eve with brunch. It was a bummer the brunch menu wasn't available on Christmas Eve, but we made do! Starting with the cocktails, the espresso martini was delicious and they had some great holiday cocktails! (I will say they were a bit pricey for the location, but I'm willing to pay more for a good cocktail) now the food. We had the bone marrow appetizer and it was so good. I'm a sucker for bone marrow so it was nice to see it on a menu as not a lot of places offer it. A couple people got the stuffed salmon special and enjoyed it very much. I ordered the lobster thermidor and to be honest I was not impressed. It was very dry and really just not much to write home about. Others in the party ordered the fish and chips and were not happy at all with the batter, it was greasy and not good. The real mvp of the table was pacific cod dish, and I will be back to have that because I tried a bite and I was super jealous I did not order it! They did a slice of cake for my birthday which was super nice for them to recognize that! The service started out good but towards the end fell off a bit. We asked to split our checks and before asking how we wanted them split the server just split it 3 ways evenly. We had a group of 5 and 2 couples so not exactly even at all, she said she couldn't put them back together and re-split so we said fine and we'd figure it out after on our own. But then she never came back to get our payments and took quite some time bringing our cards back. When a table is paying they're usually ready to go, so waiting 20+ minutes to pay and leave kind of ends things in a bad note. We will be back because there are some other things we'd like to try, but are hopeful for better service.

Have been wanting to try here for months. We finally made it to brunch. The ambiance isn't necessarily my vibe but I can set that aside. Our server (Jess) was super nice and accommodating to our 3 year old. I ordered the crème brule waffles and oh my...best waffles ever. It was basically a dessert. My wife ordered the chicken and sausage gravy sandwich which I tried and I was very impressed with. My dad ordered the burger which he loved and also the bacon covered shrimp appetizer which was OUT of this WORLD good. Had some kids selection, my daughter chose eggs but I really wanted her to try the fruity pebbles French toast...maybe next time. Looking forward to trying dinner here some night as well. What a good restaurant, top tier, offering for the Monroeville area.

It's an oasis in a high-end restaurant dessert in Monroeville. I'm not a fan of its location at the Monroeville Mall complex (hint: park near the Red Robin and Barnes & Noble as you walk between the two to get to the entrance). The bar area is in a separate alcove off the side from the host stand. There are booths and both round and square tables covered with linen table cloths in the irregular shaped dining room (creates a sense of more privacy from other diners). While not a favorite, I have eaten here a few times as there are not many other similar options nearby and I have always enjoyed my food and drinks. p.s. I am very excited to try their upcoming additional location ventures!

Let's start with the ambiance, it's so cute and classy in there. Upon walking in your greeted by hostesses and I always go with seating at the bar. The bartender is a great and energetic woman who offers the best conversation! I went this time for Sunday brunch which is from 10am-2pm every Sunday and the prices are unbeatable!! The food was quite tasty! I had the avocado toast and it was unlike any that I've ever had with little cranberries on it that I had no idea paired so well! The shrimp and grits were flavorful and had a spicy Cajun flare to them. Check out there brunch it's relatively new and I don't want it to go away due to lack of visitors. Hoping to bring awareness to other great brunch spots here in the city of Pgh for all to enjoy and to keep our businesses flourishing. Thank me now you will love the food and even better the price!!

This Illy Philly ventured east to meet a friend for libations and sustenance and encountered a restaurant with elegance, great food, great services and lovely libations. Whan I entered the restaurant I was greeted with a smile and headed over to the bar area. I really like that it had its own room away from the restaurant. It was cozy, the lighting was nice and the Bartenders were knowledgeable, friendly, and gave great conversation while attending to their customers. They didn't miss a beat. Both Bartenders Danielle and Robin(?) really made the night enjoyable, and they gave great suggestions from the menu that prompted me to order the the Crab Tator Tots which were these little bite size tator tots filled with crab and cheese, the Sautéed Asparagus, a Crab cake, and The 22K for my drink which was a delightful concoction of Champagne and raspberries...I can't remember and I should have taken a picture of the menu, but I have great picture of the drink! I also ordered a Northwest Berry Julep that was wonderful, too!!! The Chef, Ricky Kirsop, is really doing wonderful things at Coast & Main, and even though they don't have anything vegan on the menu (hint, hint) I will be back on my cheat days!

My family and I stumbled upon this place while going to the mall and it's located where Monterey Bay used to be years ago. It seems relatively similar to Monterey as they offer a sizable seafood menu and kept the same exact decor. We had a sizable party and we all shared several different items. The Five Onion Gratin is basically French onion soup with a unique presentation. There was the usual bread, onions in the soup and a gruyere cheese was melted on top. The soup was also served with grilled sourdough and onion rings which I've never had before. The soup was very flavorful and while it's not the best I've ever had, I think it was very good. The onion rings and grilled bread added a nice twist. I'd have liked a bit more cheese on top, but that's just me. The Fried Burrata (fried cheese) was also tasty. The cheese tasted fresh and was smooth and creamy. There wasn't much marinara, but it was so flavorful that I don't think any more was needed. I tried a bit of the Roasted Bone Marrow and I'm not a big fan of marrow, but I thought it was very good. It's served with a marmalade and picked red onion and I thought the onion was a nice contrast to the morrow. The Tuna Pizzette was served like a pizza and had tuna, avocado, some greens, spicy mayo, and wasabi cream served on flatbread. The tuna was very good, but there was something missing for me. The bites with the mayo on it were tasty, but there was a small drizzle on each piece and we all felt like it was very bland if you had a bite without the sauce. I think this could be a very good dish if they adjust seasoning or make sure there's more sauce. I ordered the filet and the restaurant has a list of sauces you can have added. I don't see this often so I went with a staff recommendation on a Cajun mushroom sauce. The meat was cooked perfectly, but for me, the sauce overpowered the meat and it was too salty for my liking. Filet is so tasty on its own and I regretted adding anything on top. I tried a bit of the lamb chops, a dish that was also served with onion rings, and I once again saw that the meat was cooked perfectly, but like the tuna app, it was very under-seasoned. The entrees do all appear to be a la carte and I went with the potatoes au gratin. The potatoes were ok, but once again we all felt like they were missing something as far as seasoning goes. We all agreed that dessert was the highlight of the meal. We all went with Key Lime Pie. I'm not a huge fan of these normally, but the texture was similar to a smooth and creamy cheesecake. The graham cracker crust was well above average for me and the taste of like was subtle. I feel as though this was a good meal, but I don't see coming back. The prices are on par with a Ruth Chris' or Morton's, but I expect an excellent meal for those prices. We were also told that side dishes are big enough for 2( like Ruth Chris' & Morton's), but when I got the au gratin potatoes, they came in a square ramekin that was maybe half the size you'd get at Ruth Chris' or Morton's. I feel as though the food was fine, but I can't see us coming back here when for this type of money I can go somewhere else I know I'll really enjoy.

Hands down best restaurant I've been too in years. Every thing we ordered starting from drinks to food was a 5 star started out with a old fashioned it was amazing then we had the best spinach and artichoke dip ever then seafood bisque and French onion soup then I had the swordfish it was perfect

Was hosted for lunch on Mother's Day at Coast and Main. The restaurant, the service and the menu was a huge disappointment. Although we had a long held reservation, we were seated in the bar, in a corner, complete with a television playing. Photos online show tables with linen or lovely placemats, etc. We were seated at a bare bar table, no linens, no placemats. No one asked us if we were willing to be seated in the bar and our reservation was intended for the dining room. The menu online sounded wonderfully inventive and the photos are lovely, but the menu for Mother's Day was bare bones, no description of the food, and no semblance to their normal brunch, lunch, or dinner menus. Mostly sugary breakfast items and sandwiches. The waitress apologized for keeping us waiting after telling us they were serving drinks for the entire restaurant, so I assume our waitress was actually the cocktail waitress - certainly no apparent training as a server. We waited nearly an hour for our food which was hot and tasty, but not anything special. There was nothing about our lunch which was appropriate for Mother's Day as no special effort was put forth. All pretty pictures and no substance. The restaurant sits adjacent to a shopping mall - I guess I should have known not to trust the fancy website.

We went for brunch and it was okay. Not my favorite place at all The food was as definitely overpriced. The portion sizes were not worth the price. The food was really seasoned that well. The starters (appetizer) were better than the main dishes. The waitress was okay, we felt rushed, the liquor drinks were overpriced , they didn't allow any substitutes which sucks for people with allergies or if they didn't like a certain ingredient and didn't taste good at all, kept forgetting our order and I didn't like how you don't get anything free or acknowledge for your special occasion. Other places will offer you a free dessert or sing happy birthday they do that at red lobster lol. But we decided we will NOT return. It's not worth the money and the drive. You better off going to red lobster. I did LOVE the scenery and the look of the restaurant. It's in a really good location the lighting could be better though. Parking is free it's mall parking. I love that it wasn't a crowd during the brunch hours too. I guess it's hit or miss. I wouldn't recommend this place maybe for a meeting or something but not for a celebration or a special occasion. Edit: the food WASNT seasoned well. The steak that my other guest ordered was pink a little bit, small portion not worth the money...

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The resteraunt was really nice inside. Our service was great too. We enjoyed everything. I ordered the crab cakes which were some of the best I had. My husband ordered the filet and enjoyed that as well. We both shared the lobster Mac and cheese. Definitely a splurge, but we will definitely return next time we have a special event .

We discovered Coast and Main while looking for places to have a romantic upscale birthday dinner. Since it was the weekend of Valentine's Day, no one had reservations almost 2 weeks out. This restaurant ended up being a very good surprise!! I will do the pros and cons... Pros: I loved the atmosphere and mood lighting. It added to the romantic ambiance. We tried to order things that we don't usually, and everything was GREAT!!! i am pregnant and can't drink but my husband loved his old fashioned and we both absolutely loved the shrimp and polenta. It was creamy and buttery and full of bursting flavor. I had the sea scallops for dinner which were actually quite filling and my husband had the 12oz steak. We got the au gratin potatoes and the cream corn to share: everything was amazing and we shared each others' meals to fill all of our taste buds. Our waitress was very kind and we will 10000% be coming back soon!! Cons: the only cons seemed to be that 1.) we had reservations but so did 10 other couples at that time, and the resultant was full, so it took about 20 minutes for us to be seated. That was rough. Also 2.) my scallops were a little cold. I didn't tell the waitress because the flavor was good enough to not complain. I still really enjoyed the food/experience and would recommend Coast and Main to anyone.

Hello Yelpers! If you have ever a chance to come to Monroeville for a truly excellent meal, this is the place to visit! New Year's Eve dinner was fantastic! We had the salmon with a stuffed crabmeat & we joined the CPC ! That's the clean plate club! Drinks were on the house due to the influx of patrons & Danielle our server was gracious to give us complimentary drinks for the place was extremely busy! The wait wasn't too long & they were prompt on servicing us & getting our meals out in a timely fashion. Michelle the proprietor also stop by to ask how we like everything & told her the salmon was the best on the speciality dinner ! Not many restaurants have the proprietor come to ask you how was everything! We love this restaurant & definitely will return!

I didn't think this place was going to be as good as it was, based on being attached to a pretty underwhelming mall. However, this place was great. The food and service was excellent. The steak was cooked and seasoned really well and they have this mushroom cream sauce which has to be tried. The entire thing was great. I had the bone marrow to start, the 8oz filet with mashed potatoes and ended with home made ice cream. Totally worth the bill. I can't believe this place wasn't packed on a Saturday night. A hidden gem.

Went to Coast and Main for the first time last night. Everything was incredible. Food was hot and delicious. Our waitress Mary was the best, so atentative and kind. The ambiance was so nice. While the food is pricier, it is totally worth it. I definitely recommend for a nice date night!!!

I was there with family to celebrate a graduation so we had a very nice room with privacy. The service was excellent. I ordered the crab bisque and the jumbo shrimp. The bisque was wonderful and the stuffing in the shrimp was mouth watering. The green beans were just like I like them and the mash potatoes were fluffy. I will definitely come back.

Snuck in for an early Saturday dinner. Had never heard of this place-nice surprise in our backyard. Had the sea bass and crab cakes. Delicious!

First time writing a review for a place I haven't tried yet. I purchased an e-gift card for my dad's bday since we live further away and sent him there with my mom and his friend. They had a wonderful time and said the food was delicious. When I made reservations for them online, I did explain our situation and they really took it to heart. The server was really helpful with making suggestions. And I mentioned it was a bday celebration and they brought dad out a cake. They really enjoyed the crab cakes and the Chilean sea bass. Thank you for treating them well!

Coast and Main was just okay for me. Not pictured was a crab cake appetizer. Now that was delicious and the only thing I can say I REALLY enjoyed!! If I ever went back it would be for the crab cake. Everything else we ordered was quite bland and could stand to be seasoned so much more. Seeing as how expensive the meal was I was extremely disappointed on the flavor of the lamb chops, sea bass, and our sides. I did enjoy the onion ring garnish on my lamb chops though. The actual quality of the food was great and our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Overall though, a big disappointment on the taste of most of what we ordered.

Wow the food was amazing but our server?! Whewwwww Kellie was so great and attentive and gave amazing suggestions and made our birthday celebrations just SO perfect!!!!!! 11/10 would absolutely recommend!!!!!

We have been wanting to try this place since moving to Pittsburgh but, alas, the whole COVID thing. But here we are, the world is opening back up soy wife and I went to C&M for happy hour. My wife had wine; I had their specialty mule drink. I liked it but a tad spicy for me. We ordered appetizers from the happy hour menu, four different dishes before we were done. All in all, we had a really good time. Karen, the bartender, was perfect- friendly, attentive but not overbearing. My wife and I are definitely considering C&M a regular Friday happy hour habit.

Kellie our server was the best I've experienced in a while. The food is great. I found that it is worth the slight increased pricing especially if you are used to places like "meat and potatoes" (it's cheaper). So happy to have found this place at Monroeville mall nonetheless. Will go back with anticipation. Oh and the ambiance is perfect for a nice Friday night with your partner.

Just went there for the first time very nice place, went for our anniversary was recommended by my coworker and other people dinner was great had the calamari excellent I had the salmon and my husband had the swordfish both wonderful, great atmosphere our waitress was Kim so friendly and knowledgeable about every entree and great suggestions will be back

My cousins and I decided to try this restaurant on March 16th. The restaurant was not operating according to their schedule posted outside their door and online (ie 4-9pm). We showed up to eat at 8pm and the hostess sat us at a table, but unbeknownst to us, the restaurant closed at 8pm! ( not sure why the staff decided to seat us if the restaurant is closing?). Instead of us informing us they were closing early, the staff and manager decided to serve us, but boy did we feel unwelcome! The waiter immediately let us know we were inconveniencing him by being there, the service was horrible and the food was lack luster at best. At one point, the lights were turned off while ppl were still eating! ( Not just us in the restaurant). Ultimately would not return based on how we were treated, the bland seafood and the unprofessionalism.

This is a nice surprise in the Monroeville Mall. We received a friendly greeting by the hostess and were seated immediately in a booth. The service was very attentive throughout the meal. We started with complimentary bruschetta and excellent bread. The crab cakes were some of the best I have ever tasted, even compared to those I have had on many trips to the Chesapeake Bay. I would suggest that the side of asparagus was pale and overcooked, this could use a little attention to support the excellent entree. We shared a key lime pie dessert - excellent as well. Overall, a terrific meal not usually found in this part of the 'Burg. Finally, better lighting would enhance the space and compliment the nice decor. Definitely recommend - we'll be back!

I would give this 6 stars if I could. This was the best meal I've had in years. We started with shrimp cocktail and the tuna pizzette. Outstanding! My husband had the wedge salad. It had this bacon on it that was candies and crisp like a chip. I had the beet salad and it was sweet and savory. We split the Chilean Sea bass so we could try multiple sides. The wild mushrooms harkened back to my youth when my grandfather would mushroom hunt. The creamed corn was stupendous and the haricot verdes were perfectly cooked and still a touch crisp to the tooth. I did not save room for dessert but did enjoy their house manhattan and my husband had some lovely red wines. I cannot wait to return again. The atmosphere is relaxing with smooth jazz and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Kudos on the perfect dinner!!!

Best crab cakes around. Every meal I have had here was superb. Staff is fantastic. Ambiance not bad for a location outside a mall.

Food is very good, drinks outstanding, service outstanding. More than a little pricey.

I am BIG on cleanliness. And Coast & Main dropped the ball in this one. Our waitress told us how busy they were the night before but i noticed food between the bench of my seat. It appeared that when staff cleared the table, they just wipe food "off" and allow it to fall all over. I kept noticing crumbs my entire meal. A good vacuum session would solve the problem. However, our meals and service were excellent!

Went Sunday afternoon for restaurant week 2024 after seeing offered special for that even on the restaurant week website. Expected specials to be offered in the afternoon but was highly disappointed that only brunch was served. Not sure if it was a restaurant week snafu or a shortfall of coast and main for not having them clarify that it wasn't available on Sunday. Hostess was very pleasant, but thought restaurant might offer some compensation for disappointment, like a free soft drink. Both of us ordered burgers, which came more well done. I ordered pink and friend ordered medium rare. Ate them anyway and were reasonably tasty and moist though not to order. Restaurant was not busy at all, so not sure why not done to order. Debating on whether I go back. Was impressed years back when they provided food for a Magee hospital breast cancer restaurant event and have been wanting to go there. Now I'm 50/50.

Me likey! The staff and owners are extremely attentive here and made me and my family feel like we were inside of our own food cocoon. 1800 degree seared Porterhouse steaks are the truth here! Yowsah! My sister, Luch, stuck with her loyal standby, salmon, but they gave her the option of different sauces. She chose a delicious Mongolian barbecue sauce. Yum! Fresh bread service, double Yum! Thank God we have a new and tasty inventive restaurant option in the Eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh.

Absolutely fantastic. So glad we have this restaurant here in Monroeville. Something for everyone, and prices reasonable as far as fine dining goes. Mother's Day Brunch pricing on par with just about any nice area restaurant but far superior food.

Started with the crab cake appetizer which, as previous reviewers mentioned, is extremely delicious. Loads of lump crab with just enough seasoning to compliment, yet not over power, the tasty crab. Next was a stacked beet salad; layers of sliced beets & green apple which made a surprisingly delicious combination, with a nice dressing. My entree was scallops in a cashew chili sauce. Perfectly cooked large scallops in a sweet sauce with just a hint of heat served with rice & chopped veggies. Absolutely fantastic. Finished with key lime pie-a tasty, tart little pie with real whipped cream. The service was flawless. The space intriguing. Overall a wonderful dining experience. I shall return.

We went here for Restaurant Week and it was very good. They had a great special going on where you could get a surf and turf (filet and shrimp), appetizer, and dessert for $35. The food was very good. My steak was prepared perfectly and was very flavorful. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the service. Our server forgot to give us forks for quite some time so our food got a little cold as we waited. She also completely forgot to bring the steak sauce that I had asked for. By the time she did I was done eating. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back!

The ambiance was nice, I was with two other people their food came out perfect, my steak was over cooked and the potatoes were under cooked, but overall a good experience.

This place is a joke. If you want a '5 star' restaurant, drive the extra 7 miles into the city. My husband and I had eaten here a few years ago and weren't very impressed. Food was fine, but was insanely expensive. We decided to give it one more try, but wanted to go for happy hour. So we rushed after work and got there at 6 and went to the lounge. First of all, there is a huge bar, but only had about 9 stools when there was plenty of room for more (there was soo much empty space). So we went up to the bar and wanted to get our order in before happy hour ended at 6:30. There was only one server in sight. She was taking care of the 5 tables there (and hustling like crazy), but there was no one behind the bar helping. The 9 or so ppl at the bar all had empty drinks, no food in sight. We stood at the bar for at least 10 minutes with ZERO acknowledgement from any staff. There were 2 other employees off to the side, doing nothing from what we could tell. We briefly contemplated just getting a table for dinner, but there was also absolutely no one at the front desk the entire time we were there. We also saw no diners and no servers anywhere else in the restaurant. And this was a Thursday night! If you are going to offer what sounds like a great happy hour, maybe have more than one person working. Needless to say, we drove the 15m to Olives and Peppers (which we knew would be amazing) and will not be back. Complete waste of time and a huge disappointment.

Visiting from NYC, I was really disappointed in the decor and atmosphere at this place. The prices are seriously ridiculous for a dining experience similar to an Outback Steakhouse. Service was chaotic and harried. Food was fine, but nothing to write home about. I've had much better seafood dishes at these prices in NY.

Everything from the seasoned butter to seafood we had was delicious! The service (MaryPat) was exceptional! Decor lovely for a wonderful date night or dinner with some friends, and there was lovely upbeat music being played and quiet at our dinner even though there were people seated nearby and occasionally the bar sounded lively and fun too. We will be back so we can order the other 7 things at least on the menu that we wish to try!

I came here as a result of Pittsburgh Restaurant Week. The meal from start to finish was great and the service was impeccable. I had a caesar salad to start, with a side of anchovies, it had a nice light dressing. And while you are starting your meal there is a server who comes by with a bread basket. I tried the pretzel roll and a slice of cranberry walnut bread, both were delicious and even better with their seasoned butter. For my entree I had the filet mignon with stuffed shrimp over mashed potatoes, with a side of broccolini. The broccolini was al dente, yet flavorful. The filet mignon was delicious and could be cut with a butter knife. The stuffed shrimp were cooked well and the stuffing was tasty and filled with crab. The mashed potatoes were pretty basic compared to the rest of the entree, I could have done without. There was a bit of a snafu with my dessert, but the server and manager handled it so well. They gave me another choice of dessert and I decided to try the fried banana split. I definitely expected something similar to the fried ice cream you get at Mexican restaurants, but this was so much better. It looked like a banana split with 3 scoops of ice cream and bananas on either side that were crunchy and fried and a candied bacon crown on top. It was absolutely delicious and included the delightful surprises of one of the ice creams being chocolate habanero. It was not spicy at all, instead spreading a warm feeling in your mouth a throat. Frankly this is the only way I want habaneros from now on.

Holy cow. This restaurant delivered. I was with a party of 12 and everyone absolutely loved their meal. Speaking for myself, I had the 6oz filet with the tomato bisque soup and a desert for $38. Tremendous! The steak was on par with Hyde Park and Ruth Chris in Pgh. Not even kidding. The service was awesome. Our waiter was Ryan and he was terrific. Super knowledgeable and courteous. Overall I think the experience was more than satisfying. Hat tip to the chef. I will be back, Jack!
