Great luxury Indian restaurant making the most of Malaysian seafood. Found this one from the Michelin Guide and brought a friend. The red snapper fillet with a spicy crust was the highlight of the meal, followed closely by the shrimp curry accompanied with some garlic naan. Service was friendly and efficient, felt very well taken care of. Pricing was definitely more London/New York so just be aware you’re going to have a great meal and you’re going to pay for it 💰😁

When in Kuala Lumpur you cannot miss this place. If you like Indian even if you don’t like spicy, the food here is perfect. They can cook it for you according to your preference. People from the service are very helpful and gentle. Was great experience coming here. Also, the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food they offer. Thank you 🙏☺️

The chicken tikka was my favourite. Juicy, smoky and paired well with their classic Briyani rice. The dahi puri shooters exploded with flavours (a definitely must order too). The crab with gunpowder was a bit soso for me. The crab flavour didnt come through. It felt a little rich/cloying. Service was superb. Shout out to Anoop. Will be back to try other dishes!

My wife and I had dinner at this Indian restaurant last night. The food was superb and of amazing quality. The service staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful with recommending food options. This is the place to go to if you are looking for delicious and fine Indian food

Okay, here's a review of Coast by Kayra, just like I'd tell a friend: So, I recently checked out Coast by Kayra in Kuala Lumpur, and wanted to share my thoughts on this Indian restaurant. The vibe is definitely welcoming, which is always a good start, right? Let’s talk about the food. It was nice, really nicely presented actually – you can tell they put a lot of effort into making each dish look beautiful. But honestly, I didn't walk away with that "WOW" feeling, you know? Everything tasted good, but I feel like you could find similar dishes at other Indian spots around town. Now, the price point is around RM 200, and while the food was good, I think it's a bit overpriced for what you get. Maybe I was expecting a little more oomph for that price. However, where Coast by Kayra really shines is the service. Seriously, the waiters were amazing! Super friendly, attentive, and just all-around fantastic. They really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Overall, Coast by Kayra is a solid choice if you're looking for a beautifully presented Indian meal with top-notch service. Just be prepared to pay a bit more, and maybe adjust your expectations on the "wow" factor of the dishes themselves.

Michelin should be more protective of its brand. We’ve eaten across the world, from street food stalls to three-star Michelin fine dining, so when we saw Coral highlighting its Michelin association, we thought it would be worth a date night without the kids. First impressions weren’t great. My wife’s chair was dirty. Even the napkins didn’t match, mine was quality while hers looked like something you’d find in a cheap Chinese restaurant. The concept behind some of the dishes was unique and interesting, but the execution fell flat. The food was average, lacking the punch you’d expect from Indian cuisine and nowhere near Michelin standard. Service was mediocre, the atmosphere matched. Easily the most forgettable meal we’ve had in KL.

My first experience in a Michelin Start restaurant was awesome! The food was simple and delicious, well presented and great service. I am vegetarian and there were many options for me. A couple of my friends binged on non-vegetarian food and they loved it. Kerala cuisine with fusion elements is fantastic! The pricing is very good and not too expensive. We spent approximately ₹10,000/- INR for four which I think is great pricing for a Michelin Star restaurant. Overall, I am super happy with my first experience and will never forget the delicious food! Cheers! 🍻😃

Just dropping by to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Coast by Kayra for the brilliant food and equally wonderful service during our recent visit. We were celebrating my mum’s birthday, and I had reached out to the team at a very short notice to see if a small surprise could be arranged. They coordinated everything so seamlessly and pulled it off with such ease and warmth, making the day truly special for us. The staff were all wonderful, especially Nithin. It is rare to find individuals who are able to strike a balance of effortless hospitality, personalised professionalism and unassuming charm particularly amongst fine dining restaurants outside the hotel industry in Asia - thoughtful and attentive without being intrusive, and making guests feel comfortable and well taken care of, with professionalism, yet without performance. We truly appreciated the team for this. The food was just as delightful - Kerala cuisine that is both authentic and inventive, with unique twists that kept us engaged and excited throughout the meal. It was evident that each dish was crafted with care, using fresh ingredients and produce of exceptional quality. The dosa tacos were a fun and clever twist that captured the crunch of chaat while staying rooted in South Indian flavours. The appams were easily some of the best we’ve had. The North Indian dishes were also just as flavourful. The pistachio kunafa cake is easily one of our favourite desserts in recent times, beautifully executed with a delicate balance of sweetness and richness that lingered without ever feeling cloying, and ended the evening on the perfect note. Coast by Kayra is a great place to visit, both for those who cherish the depth of Kerala cuisine and equally for those new to it, offering both the comfort of tradition and the thrill of culinary discovery. Thank you once again for your kind hospitality and for helping us create such a memorable evening. We look forward to returning in the future.
