The bartender from New Jersey and his delightful NY Yankees fan-puppy were delightful. The beers were really good. We had the Newport News Lager (which absolutely deserves it's title as the beer of Newport News, it is delicious), the Lenore, the Navarro w Lime, and the True Concept. All of these beers were stand up examples of their varieties. We were impressed and pleased.

Had a great time here. The bartender was super helpful when I asked him to put together a flight of some of their most popular beer. Everything I tried was absolutely fantastic and I ended up getting another sample of something else before ending with a slushie! There was a food truck on site that was veteran owned so of course we supported that and got some amazing burnt end fries. To top it all off there was live music which is always a bonus in my book. I just wish I lived closer so I could get back here more often, but you can bet I'll be visiting on my next trip to Virginia.

Beers were very good. I liked the Keplers Law IPA. Liked the ability to just taste their beer and really like that they have smaller 1/2 pours available. They haven't been open very long and I'm sure opening in a pandemic is tough. Even though they are located in a somewhat unusual area the space they have is excellent. Great open bays and nice outdoor seating. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

It is a nice place that I've been to a few times without issues. I went to close out my tab and the bar tender told me I wasn't in the system but remembered serving me. By the time I walked to my car the notification came through that my card was charged. It appears they just wanted to ensure a decent tip.

Beer is incredible. Good selection and variety means they likely have something for everybody. Top notch service. Parking lot right next to the building. One minute off the highway. Patio. Clean bathrooms. Dog friendly. Can purchase cans to go. Food trucks on weekends.

Good brews, and good entertainment. They had unique flavors on tap during the fall time including a few sours and a hard kombucha. The kombucha packs a powerful punch and almost tastes like apple cider vinegar, but it grows on you. They had a live singer and was worth seeing all the kids rock out to her. Dog friendly place with a taco (food) truck outside for a quick bit.

Attended an after work social event with a large group - service was fast. I tried the frozen slushy beer with a sour base: it was a little too sour for my taste so I switched up and got The Big Woods lager. It was very good and I would get it again. Also the Newport News is a good one too. I didn’t buy any merchandise but I liked their selection.

Went there with a group of friends first thing we noticed !! Bathrooms were clean as a bald man's scalp !

Fun brewery in downtown Newport News right by the shipyard! Good selection of beers, nice staff and they let dogs in! On the day we visited they had Flame and Pie Pizzeria Food Truck on-site and their cheese bread sticks were delicious! Would like to try some of their other yummies! Seems like they have different food trucks and different events as well, so looking forward to coming back! Also large inside with plenty of seating!

WOW WOW WOAH WOW! This place is great! The most prolific attribute of "Benedito's" persona, and hard-work, is represented in the Cantiere's name which means "dockyard" in Italian. Newport News, Virginia too many is the original home of shipbuilding and dockyards. Located near one of the biggest shipyards in the world, Cantiere's is one of Benny's "worksites" for their huge 28' pies (pizzas). Now open and located in Downtown Newport News, just behind City Hall, serving up giant/delicious slices and HUGE 28" pies for all of the pizza lovers out there. This location is outstanding and should be broadcasted more. I just so happened to stumble across this location with my lady friend and we will be here at least once a week from here on out. We had an amazing time creating our slices and had an even better time eating them. If the owner/hiring manager reads this review; please feel free to contact me, I'd love to partner/promote/and/or even work at the physical location. I had such an amazing experience and would love to be apart or this terrific pizza place. I've shared with all my friends and would love to work with you guys in the future.

I had my retirement ceremony here, and it was perfect! Blzn Tacos did an amazing job catering as well! Thanks to Seth from Coastal and Brittany from Blzn Tacos!

My husband and I came here for a couple of hours to enjoy some beer, they have a nice selection and relaxing atmosphere. I got the sour slushy beer which was amazing and I'm not a beer drinker. The vibes of this place was spot on so if you're looking for a nice relaxing night out, try this place.

amazing beer selection! great customer service. environment for the kids and adults. ample seating inside and outside which we loved. multiple food options inside which was nice. overall a great place to go any day of the week!

Coastal Fermentory is the kind of place you'd like to keep secret but you know everyone deserves to experience it. Their newly released Hazy IPA "Logic is Logic" rivals Treehouse the IPA king of the east coast. Both of their stouts are delicious and strong without being too thick or heavy. If great beer wasn't enough they offer a fun and welcoming atmosphere with courteous, knowledgeable staff, food trucks (such as Nosh) Fri-Sun and live music Fri-Sat.

This place is fantastic! The atmosphere and people are amazing, not to mention a great selection of awesome beer! They were great in helping me pull off a surprise party for my husband and were extremely easy to work with. We love coming here and will continue to do so. Shout out to Seth, Sara, and Eric! Grand opening. Delicious beers. Awesome staff. Food truck galore! What better place to spend a weekend??

I have yet to have a bad beer here. Great location especially if your trying to escape traffic on the 664. All staff are great. See you here soon.

Chill spot with a great location. This one of the local breweries that is on my rotation. It is not as close as some of my other favs but it is certainly worth the trip. Decent selection to drink from and they have 2 to 3 drinks that are sure to become your "go-to". I haven't caught any of the food trucks or yoga class but I have hear nothing but good things.

Great overall experience! The atmosphere was fun and the beer was good! The live music and generally relaxed atmosphere was fun after a long day. There were food trucks to compliment the beer and plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. If you are consuming at a busy time of day I would bring your own lawn chairs. There's plenty of space and other people had theirs set up for larger groups.

Great space with amazing staff and a delicious variety of beer. Conveniently located near Benny's pizza if you're hungry while also typically hosting various food trucks. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 due to the amount of uncontrolled children that you may find running throughout the brewery. I wish there was a brewery that was truly 21 and over

Wonderful venue. The architecture is great, Good beers. Good music. A perfect spot for shipyard employees to hang out and anyone looking for a cool spot in downtown Newport News. They also have kombucha!

Never thought I'd like an IPA until I tried the Nektonic. All the beers were really good. Good location for the people downtown that want to grab a beer after work.

Awesome brewery in downtown Newport News with a great view! I've been coming since the grand opening and they have a great assortment of beers and even Kombucha. Beer not your thing? There's a bourbon distillery just next door. There's frequently live music and a variety of delicious food trucks. They also have yoga every Saturday at about 1030 am. Beer, Bourbon next door?? What else could you ask for??

Delicious DIPA (Hoppy Reflections) Great atmosphere. Friendly, fun, knowledgeable staff. If you like sours, their Unicorn Rave passion fruit sour was very good. Meticulous cleaning between every customer interaction. We were very comfortable especially in these COVID time. We will be back.

We had the pleasure of celebrating a friends birthday here. I had the big wood lager , it as delicious and my hubby had the not flawless but perfect IPA, very nice as well. The staff was wonderfully friendly and informative . I will go back again and again!

Such a great spot. Good beer, good crew, live music. It was such a blast. Highly recommend it. You can bring you own food, or they often have a food truck there. We'll deffinitely come back again soon.
