I really loved their cheeseburger—it totally hit the spot! The appetizers were great too, super tasty. We had this amazing cake with ice cream (wish I remembered the name!) and it was the perfect way to end the meal. Also, shoutout to the staff—they were incredibly warm and friendly, which made the whole experience even better.

My favorite spot in South OC! Crab Cake Salad, Shrimp Cocktail and Baby back Ribs are some of my Favs. Finish with a butter cake! Cocktails are great as well, I love the Paloma. Atmosphere is elevated but casual, nice beach feel.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Coastal Kitchen. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxing meal. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout, and our server Greg was especially fantastic—professional, cheerful, and genuinely helpful. We tried several dishes, including the Clam Chowder, Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, and Salmon. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. The salads were fresh and flavorful, with a great balance of ingredients. I also appreciated that the kitchen was flexible and allowed us to make small customizations to our orders, which made the experience even better. The service was fast and efficient without feeling rushed, and every dish was served with care and great presentation. Overall, Coastal Kitchen exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back!!! :-)

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by our server Courtney, who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful—she made our visit feel extra special. We took her recommendations and ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad and the Crispy Chicken Caesar, and wow… both dishes were phenomenal. The tuna was perfectly seared, fresh, and flavorful, and the salad that came with it was refreshing with great texture and balance. The crispy chicken was seasoned just right—tender inside, crunchy outside—and paired beautifully with the Caesar greens and quinoa. Everything—from the plating to the flavors—was spot on. And the sauce that came with the tuna? So good we could’ve had a whole bowl of it! This place exceeded our expectations, and thanks to Courtney, it truly felt like a Christmas treat. We’ll absolutely be back again and again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxed lunch with quality food and genuine service.

If you’re looking for a place on the PCH with a dining room that says “classy” and a patio that says “I might never leave,” this is it. The Parker House rolls come drowning in golden brown butter and herbs—a bold move if your New Year’s resolution involved self-control. Sweet meets savory, and your diet quietly weeps. The Double Cut Pork Chop is so big it could have its own zip code. Juicy, tender, glazed with sweet fig, and perfect for anyone who skipped lunch…or breakfast…or possibly the last three days of meals. The Filet? Also delicious, perfectly tender, and generously portioned—because apparently moderation is for other restaurants. Baked potatoes arrive hotter than the surface of the sun and packed with all the “good stuff” your cardiologist warned you about. Service is friendly, the vibe is relaxed, and the dog-friendly patio means you can share your meal with your four-legged friend, or at least feel guilty while they stare at you for two hours. Five stars—come hungry, leave questioning your life choices in the best possible way.

Google
I love this place. A little pricey, but as they say… you get what you pay for. And it’s worth it!! I go a few times a year as a treat and as a frugal guy it is hard to get my head around $48 crab cakes, but they are worth every penny penny! OMG… might be my last meal… huge chunks of Crab meat… taste like the ocean. I often get them as apps when dinning out at various seafood restaurants… these are the best I have ever had… I think they put them on the entree items just for me. 😁 Also, I dream about their Trout dip… Amazing! My only complaint is that parking sucks and I park two blocks away. But again, it is worth it!

It's a great family place for people of all ages. Delicious food and great service. Peaceful, cocktail alternatives. We enjoyed it a lot.

Coastal Kitchen Review: A Coastal Culinary Delight in Dana Point Coastal Kitchen in Dana Point is an absolute gem that effortlessly blends vibrant flavors, warm hospitality, and a breezy coastal charm. From the moment we stepped in, the staff greeted us with genuine smiles and attentive service, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. The star of our meal was the blackened grouper—a perfectly seasoned, flaky masterpiece with a smoky crust that gave way to tender, moist flesh beneath. The zesty remoulade added a creamy kick, elevating each bite, while the side of golden fries struck the ideal balance between crispy and fluffy. My girlfriend raved about her seared ahi tuna salad, where buttery-rare slices of tuna rested atop a bed of fresh, peppery greens, drizzled with a tangy dressing that tied the dish together beautifully. What truly sets Coastal Kitchen apart is its ambiance. The light-filled space features chic indoor-outdoor seating, adorned with nautical touches and lush greenery that evoke a relaxed, coastal vibe. After our meal, we strolled just steps away to soak in breathtaking views of the bay, where sailboats dotted the horizon under the Southern California sun. Whether you’re savoring expertly prepared seafood, enjoying the friendly banter of the staff, or simply soaking in the serene setting, Coastal Kitchen delivers a slice of Dana Point paradise. We’ll definitely be back—next time, perhaps with sunset cocktails in hand! 🌊🍴

Yelp
My husband and I have been here several times, and it's quickly become one of our favorite spots! We love the variety of food options and the fact that the patio is dog-friendly--it's such a great place to relax and enjoy a nice meal. The patio ambiance is wonderful, and the service has always been consistently great. We've tried several different appetizers and entrées, and everything has been delicious. This has definitely become our go-to spot in the area!

Yelp
I usually really love this place, even though it's on the pricier side and often the service team always seems inconvenienced by your existence. Numerous times the food has been hit or miss, and the miss is usually at night for their dinner menu. Of an appetizer and two entrees at the table, not one thing was cooked properly. The shrimp were curled up and rubbery, the broccoli is offensively wet, undercooked and drenched in lemon juice. The halibut was the saltiest thing I've ever tasted in my life and the salmon was overcooked as well. Not sure what happened here but I left feeling like I was robbed

Yelp
If you're in Dana Point and looking for a nice restaurant on PCH, then Coastal Kitchen is a nice classy restaurant. Depending on the weather you can sit outside on the patio by the fire pit, inside at the bar or table. Just note that you will need to make a reservation, this restaurant is popular. The food here is delicious. From the Parker House Rolls, Crispy Chicken Caesar Salad, Salmon, Ribeye ( Husband approved). They have a great cocktail menu. Service, we came for lunch at the end of August. We were seated inside at a booth. We had a server come take our drink order but we were told that she wouldn't be our waitress. The next server came by to check on us and talk our order. She told us that she wasn't our waitress. The next waitress came to introduce herself as our waitress. Our food arrived but our "waitress" never came in to check on us. At the end of our meal, we had to flag someone down so we could get our bill. Atmosphere 5/5 Food 5/5 Service 3/5

Yelp
After a morning of boogie boarding, we stepped in for lunch to get a quick bite. This place is really nice. We got to sit outside on the patio. It's close to the beach. The service was great. My daughter and I both ordered a burger and they were really tasty. The patty itself was juicy and flavorful. I watched everyone else's dishes come out around us and they were beautifully plated and they have such a variety of things at this place. It was a good experience. We will definitely be back when we're down in the Dana point area. There's many more things on the menu I want to order and try.

Yelp
We stopped in at Coastal Kitchen without a reservation and were quoted a 40-minute wait, but it ended up being only 15 minutes, such a nice surprise! Our server (I wish I remembered her name) was super friendly and welcoming from the start. We ordered the beet salad, crispy chicken Caesar salad, parker rolls, a filet with baked potato, and finished with the butter cake. Everything was phenomenal. The beet salad was fresh and delicious, and my chicken Caesar salad was crisp, flavorful, and topped with perfectly cooked chicken. I love a good Caesar, and this one easily makes it into my top favorites, I 'd definitely order it again. The filet was tender and paired nicely with the baked potato, which my husband enjoyed. We also enjoyed the fluffy warm butter rolls with the butter mmm so goood. For dessert, we had the butter cake. It could have been a little warmer, but that didn't stop me from devouring it. Between the great food, excellent service, and overall vibe, we loved our experience here. Next time I'm in Dana Point, I'll definitely be back and make sure to make reservations.

Yelp
Service was great! Took about 10 minutes to get seated after checking in for our reservation, but they were polite and thanked us for waiting Sat inside, nice views and during sunset. Only came for oysters and wine (national oyster day) and they luckily still had them in stock! They only have one type (Hama Hama) and they're pretty pricy at $22 for 6 but they were pretty good. Had a couple small bits of shell in a couple but overall nice presentation and shucking Got the Sancerre which was delicious! I'd definitely go back but if it's just for oysters I'd go to glasspar for the variety and lower prices

Yelp
Overall, a wonderful experience! From the front of the house, to Hailey's service, to the bar, and back of the house Coastal Kitchen offers a mostly seafood menu in an ambiance that screams a vibe of beachy coast. We started by splitting the clam chowder (that was ok), accompanied by an order of Parker house rolls (I found them too sweet). While my hubs delved into the delicious double chop pork cho- thick, juicy and we brought the bones and some meat home. i throughly enjoyed the lump crab cake salad. Just crab, like in Maryland! The vinaigrette salad with a few chunks of avo was a perfect accompaniment. Great tasting and just enough for an entree. Austin Hope's Cab Sav paired nicely with the chop while, I enjoyed a very decent pour of Arrogant Bastard. Friends joined late and had a very nicely cooked, yummy hamburger. Your choice of sides. Family friendly. We sat in the back with a window into the kitchen which was fun, but it was def noisy. Will I go back? Heck ya!

Yelp
driving around dana point and was hungry for lunch. came here for some light fresh seafood. Ordered the crab cake salad and like all the previous reviews, it's ALL CRAB. there is no filler of bread crumb or spices, just big juicy meaty pieces of crab. SO GOOD! Also had the chicken tortilla soup, the broth was much creamier than I'm use to, but it was still tasty. The jumbo shrimp cocktail came with 4 ginormous shrimp and the cocktail sauce has a nice kick to it. the side salad is also tasty. Good place for a light healthy lunch

Yelp
An absolute taste bonanza! Our table had the blackened grouper sandwich, French dip sandwich, and the lunch filet. I highly recommend all three! The French dip meat just melted in my mouth. The grouper was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The filet was juicy and tender. Service was fast and polite, and they gave excellent recommendations. The outdoor patio area is comfortable and has a beautiful view of Dana Point. 10/10 will eat here again!

Yelp
Met a friend for an impromptu late lunch here today, and it was DELICIOUS. We had cherry Cokes, the pan bread appetizer, the seared ahi tuna salad, and some butter cake for dessert. It's pricey -- the salad alone was $30 -- but it was amazing. The butter cake was tasty but kind of hard on the exterior... it was somewhat difficult to cut into at first. Our server was incredible, though... she made great recommendations, refilled our drinks, took our late dessert order, and didn't seem to mind that we spent hours just hanging out and chatting. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside as well -- so fun to get to watch the chefs do their thing as we chatted and ate. We'll be back!

Yelp
Best crabcakes salad in town!!!!!! Got real crab meat that is not mushy!!! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Another great evening at coastal kitchen. It was a very busy night. We didn't have to wait a few minutes for our reservation time, but that was fine. Once seated, Kelly came over and offered beverages and even took an appetizer order. She was forthcoming about her favorite items on the menu when asked as our guest had not been to the restaurant before. We started with the trout dip and the Parker House rolls. The trout tip was a big hit although we felt there was too much mayonnaise and it was overly salted. Our guests also enjoyed the Parker House rolls, but thought they were dry overall even with the herbed butter. For entrees, we ordered the crabcake, French dip, and crispy chicken Caesar salad. I can't remember the last time I've come here and not had the crispy chicken Caesar salad. All the entrées were delicious. We finished off the meal with the butter cake and everyone loves that. Noise level is extreme and can be difficult to have a conversation. There is outdoor seating and I did see some dogs. Parking can be difficult. There is a lot behind the restaurant that fills up quickly. There's also street parking. Cool coastal vibes. Every person that came to our table is friendly and professional. We always return and recommend to others.

Yelp
Came here for mother's day lunch, really happy with our experience! The ambiance is an elevated casual, thought the coastal theme was well decorated. Service was very attentive and food came out quick. Everything came in huge portions! We ordered: - Blackened grouper sandwich: the fish on this was really nicely done, large portion too - Chicken BLT: good flavors, also on the heavier side with a double chicken patty. got a side of the quinoa salad, this was really nice and refreshing - French dip sandwich: really good sandwich, the dip complimented the sandwich really well. would recommend a side of fries because of the horseradish sauce - Half rotisserie chicken: not too dry but nothing really special

Yelp
I love grouper and CS is the only restaurant I have found that makes it so delicious! Great and reasonably priced wines too!

Yelp
AR and I came here for my birthday dinner - looking for something new and different. AR had been here once before and suggested it as an option. Coastal Kitchen had been on my radar for a while, but I hadn't found a reason to make the trip until AR gave it the thumbs-up. The restaurant is bright and airy, with large windows, clean, minimalist decor, and a cozy patio that's perfect for sipping something cold and watching the world go by. (We almost sat outside, but it was a bit too chilly that evening; even with the fire pits.) It's the kind of place where you can stroll in straight from the harbor or dress up a little for date night - it works either way. Fire pit - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ&select=PxN0jYTNEVcdye-iha-Azg AR and I arrived just before 6:30 PM and were greeted warmly by the two young ladies at the front podium. We were quickly seated in a booth, which felt cozy and perfect for the evening. To our surprise, the restaurant was fairly busy - unexpected for Super Bowl Sunday when most people were likely glued to their TVs watching Kansas City and Philadelphia battle it out. It was nice to see we weren't the only ones out enjoying dinner that evening. Our server, Ricardo, was fantastic - friendly, helpful, and super knowledgeable about the menu. He struck the perfect balance between being attentive without hovering. It's clear that the staff here are well-trained; you'll never feel rushed, but you won't be left wondering where your server disappeared to, either. If you're unsure about what to order, just ask - they've got great recommendations. In our case, Ricardo nailed it with his starter suggestions, and we were off to a great start. Our order: Cajun Shrimp Starter - Very good; served in rich sauce. Photo - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ&select=5d7RVWbeQriygjSlftm-Lg Parker House Rolls Starter - Good; rich. Photo - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ&select=wxLX3g1FUluEKkqyOOivKw Hawaiian Ribeye - Okay; marinade was too sweet for my taste; teriyaki ribeye. Photo - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ&select=gvD302OnLr3JxhZJwIJAag Crab Cakes - Good; tasty in a mustard sauce. Photo - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ&select=TSXd8r9Inl-U6gFYXxUavQ Grand total: $240 (Including tip) Overall, for the $$$, it was "good," not great. Coastal Kitchen strikes a nice balance - perfect for a casual lunch or a celebratory dinner. The ambiance is polished yet approachable, the kind of place locals love but visitors stumble upon and rave about. While the prices lean on the higher side, the quality of food, drinks, and atmosphere makes for a pleasant experience. Treat yourself - you'll leave satisfied! - Big Aloha! Food/Drinks: 3+ Ambiance: 4 Service: 5 Value: 4

Yelp
Food: Scottish Salmon was pan-roasted, apricot glaze or traditional remoulade, broccoli & parmesan; Baby Back Ribs (16oz, true Danish ribs, house-made BBQ sauce, coleslaw, french fries Service: great, friendly service Design: interiors has a nice modern seaside estate vibe with white bead board wainscott, navy blue fish wall covering, distressed wood flooring, and other naval/ocean themed touches in the lighting and decor Overall: what a great place to have a New American style Surf or Turf lunch in Dana Point

Yelp
Seafood was so so fresh and the dishes are prepared wonderfully! I had the halibut, my absolute favorite. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Ambience 5 Food 5 Service 5 Value 5 We drove one hour, and spent my birthday afternoon in Dana Point. After some research on Yelp in advance, I pre-selected this place for my birthday dinner, and it did not disappoint!! The restaurant was classy yet lively with some coastal motifs. It had a nice outdoor patio with a fireplace and heaters, and we chose to sit there. We hit the last hour of their lunch menu, so the menu seemed slightly limited, but the food was so Delicious (with a capital D)!! I had crab cake salad, which was full of meaty crab meat with no fillers. Avocado was a good combination. My hubby had crispy chicken cesar salad. We shared a bowl of clam chowder, which was so creamy and rich. We loved parker rolls, and felt like we wanted more. The food was overall on the rich side, but it was gourmet! The waitress was attentive, just right, enough amount. The check came out reasonable for the quality and amount of food we had. We enjoyed the visit so much, and are planning to go back soon.

Yelp
Just finished my visit to CC! Once again the service was excellent (our waiter was very cute). The meal (crab cake salad was delicious as usual. The crab cake was pure delicious crab, the dressing was very citrusy, and the avocado, corn and grapefruit slices were delicious as usual. My friend had the French dip sandwich and I had a taste. Excellent prime rib and Cole slaw. The restaurant has a fun and sunny vibe. The people watching is wonderful. Coastal Kitchen never disappoints! Once you go you know.

Yelp
Big shoutout to RYAN for resolving an issue in an efficient and kindest way I could hope for! THANK YOU. We were enjoy a perfect Saturday family day at the Baby Beach, and got hungry for some good takeout food. A short google search got me to Coastal Kitchen and their menu convinced me they offer the finest meals in the area (4 mins drive from Baby Beach!!). Ordered a nice selection of various portions and each was a celebration of flavors - The Salmon and Halibut were the perfect beach-meals we had right infornt of the ocean. Our boy enjoyed his kids-meal chicken fingers and fries, and the cake desert was a perfect finale. Beautifully and carefuly boxed for to-go. Came the next day for my crab cake salad (which was missed from the order, but Ryan was very courteous providing one anyway, thanks again!) Which was absolutely delicious; and sorry for taking only this single picture of the crab cake - we surely will come back during our next visit in Baby Beach, for more delicious meals. What a great choice! Next time we we surely dine inside, as the place is beautifully designed; very spacious and full of light due to the glass walls and well organized tables and sitting area. The bar is perfect for 1person dinings, with a decent selection of liquors.

Yelp
A gem! The ambiance, service, and food were all great! We came in for lunch last weekend and absolutely enjoyed our meal. Our waitress was the sweetest, most patient woman and was so friendly towards our 3 kids. Our favorite dish was the blackened grouper sandwich. It was a bit salty but was cooked perfectly. I would also recommend asking for the bun to be extra toasted bc it sort of fell apart since it's a brioche bun. We appreciated that that they let you pick from a variety of sides rather than just between fries or a side salad. The fried cauliflower ended up being our favorite. This might just be our new favorite spot in Dana point :) We can't wait to be back!
google avatar

Yelp
The service was great but no birthday celebration was offered. We would not return for a special event. Today was my actual birthday and nothing was offered celebrated which was felt underwhelming and not not memories

Yelp
Stopped here on a whim and glad we did. Excellent food and service. The baby back ribs are pretty big and probably enough by itself to feed me and my wife.

Yelp
We LOVE this restaurant. Another beautiful dining experience this week. The crab cake salad is exquisite, lump crab, little to no filler, lightly seared. Tried the chicken sando for the first time and we LOVED it. Easily could have split the generous portion. We always say we're going to skip the Parker house rolls but then one passes the table and we can't resist. Awesome food, every time. Impeccable service.

Yelp
Had a lovely time dining with some friends. Service was very attentive and food is served fairly quickly despite it being quite busy. Decorated so pretty for the holidays. We were not rushed from our table but respected the 2 hour limit. Everything was very tasty! Highly recommend the spinach dip and the cosmopolitan to drink!!

Yelp
We came here for an early dinner on a weeknight. We had reservations and were seated and greeted by our server right away. My crab cake was absolutely the best I've ever tasted, and I've eaten many on the east coast, both in Boston and Baltimore. It was full of large chunks of tasty crab with hardly any filler. Yum! My husband's French Dip sandwich had perfectly seasoned, tender beef and was accompanied by homemade coleslaw.

Geoff B.

Yelp
Probably 4.5 stars. Food is consistently great. One of the best burgers in OC along with a grilled grouper sandwich and a french dip worth driving for. Atmosphere/vibe is very comfortable and welcoming. Bartenders always friendly. The half star negatives - its almost always too cold. Its a windy corner next to the ocean and the door to patio is always propped open creating a major draft. In fact even when a diner closes it, a waiter will inevitably prop it back open. Oh - and no wifi! I'd come more and hang at the nice bar (tv's) if i could get some laptop time in. Wouldnt be an issue but both att and verizon signal weak right there. Been a regular now for a couple years.

Yelp
Chef has this place Rocking! Great food, service, and craft drinks. On PCH good vibes Thumbs up

Yelp
Objectively speaking 4.2 yelp stars for this restaurant is a robbery. It's AT LEAST as good as most of the 4.4 ~ 4.7 restaurants in Orange County. Personally I think this place deserves to be 4.6 on yelp. Many restaurants can't quite nail that perfect balance between food quality, price, and approachability. This place nails that balance. Small, tight menu of the basics, fresh ingredients cooked to order, good flavors and sane portions. Warm and welcoming ambiance. I could eat here many times and not get tired of it, which is something many great restaurants fail to achieve. Love the quality and the lack of pretention. Locals are blessed to have this place.

Briana A.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Went on a date night with my husband and was very impressed. Love's the atmosphere as well. So nice but not stuffy at all!
google avatar

Yelp
Very nice ambiance indoors and charming fire ice fireplace coziness outdoors. Consistently good food and service, but we would love to see daily specials or new additions to the menu or seasonal changes for more variety to draw us in more often!

Yelp
Yesterday my mom and I went here for lunch. The food was delicious but what made this a five star experience was our waitress, Kelly!! They made a mistake with my halibut and she was so kind, apologetic, and attentive. She was very sharp and handled everything perfectly. She was kind and would bring you things before you even had to ask!! If I could, I would try to request sitting in Kelly's area. She went beyond to make our experience wonderful. We really appreciate her! Thank you Kelly!

Yelp
I finally had the opportunity to have dinner here with my husband! This was his first time eating at this restaurant. We were seated on the patio quickly which was so nice because the weather of course was fantastic and we were seated next to the fire pit, which makes for a nice romantic evening. Our servers assistant come take our drink order immediately. Then Tanya, who I have been lucky enough to have before came to take our cocktail and appetizer order. Tonight I branched out and had the chicken dinner, which was really difficult for me to do... I ALWAYS order the pork chop! It has been my only meal here since they first opened! We started out, of course, with the trout dip, which was as good as always! I love this restaurant and can't wait to return!

Chris Z.

Yelp
This place has the best crab cake I've ever had. Really good food and good service. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Wonderful place with a delightful coastal ambiance and delicious food. Our server, Nicole, provided excellent service, making the experience even more enjoyable. The crab cake was absolutely delicious--perfectly crispy on the outside and flavorful inside. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I've lived in DP for 32 years and finally came in here. On a Saturday. At 1pm. Busy. Packed. And yeah I know it's a recent addition. But... The place is run really well. Great service! We got oysters, chef tacos, beef and salmon. I'd recommend the beef over the salmon. The salmon was a bit salty. We also ordered a small Caesar's salad and a tomato cheese side thing. I guess we were rolling tapas style. It was all very good all! Again the service was amazing and somehow, not sure how but it all came to the table quickly. Now, I didn't order a Bloody Mary. BUT, I saw a few. It's a meal. On my radar for next time. Peace

Yelp
Great vibe at this local spot in Dana Point. On a Sunday afternoon, it wasn't too crowded and my daughter and I got a table quickly. The menu was varied and there were a lot of good choices. I had the grouper sandwich. Man, It's hard to find Grouper on the west coast. I love it though, best thing about Florida is the Grouper. It was delicious. My daughter had the quinoa salad and friend cauliflower. She liked them both. I'd like to go back here sometime for cocktails and appetizers. :) Service was fine and friendly. Overall, nice place.

Yelp
My family and I were in there yesterday 9/29/25 at around 3:30/4:00 with a party of eight. When we walked in everyone loved the look and ambiance and how unique the fish wall paper is. As soon as we sat down our server Brie came over and took our drink order immediately. From the start to until she had to transfer her table because her shift was over she was nothing but amazing. She answered questions, got my mom and aunt a taste of wine to see if they liked it and got my dad a different drink because the spicy margarita was too hot for him due to his heart. Everyone loved everything. From the appetizer's-house rolls, fried cauliflower and shrimp cocktail. The mains- house salads, but, three French dips and cauliflower tacos to the desserts- key lime pie, butter cake and a hot fudge sundae. My aunt and uncle were visiting from Chicago and wished they lived here just to go back for the fantastic food and wonderful service by Brie. Thank you for making my family happy and for giving us a last dinner out together that was fun, memorable and everyone enjoyed.

Yelp
The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We ordered the Parker house rolls, and I loved them. If you don't like herbs, ask for regular butter. My hubby ate around it because he didn't like the herbed butter on top. I ordered the double-cut pork chops. They're a monster. I ate a quarter of them. The fig compote is good but very sweet, so go easy on it. My hubby got the cheesesteak "sandwich" served on a brioche bun. He liked it very much. I did get a little grossed out looking up at the chandelier. The bulbs were caked with dust, and there was a spider web running across them. I didn't like that it was right above our table. I caution about parking if you're not used to this area. It's a pain, and parking is very limited. We parked pretty far off one of the streets.

Yelp
Coastal Kitchen gives me vibes of Cape Cod. Staff always immaculately dressed and attentive. Seafood menu is top notch and fresh, yet reasonably priced. The New England clam chowder is legitimately from Down East. Crab Cake salad is wonderful, as is the halibut. New menu item is the blackened grouper sandwich. Tender and flaky, superb in a sandwich. Come here to hangout with some gin & tonics. Classic east coast beach vibes.

Yelp
Second time here, drove down from Laguna Woods specifically to eat here. My wife Nancy had scottish salmon first visit, loved it but opted for filet mignon. Friend had french dip sandwich, said it was very good. I had what I came for, the danish ribs. Nancy noted the filet may well have been the best ever and she has one a week on average. My ribs were again terrific, crispy but yet moist and tender, did not need a knife. Very flavorful. oh, for us an added plus was they have a n/a beer. Nancy's ice cream sundae was really good, vanilla with choc. sauce. My buttercake was very good, friend's key lime pie he noted as so-so. Service was friendly, competent and caring. Plates were cleared in a timely manner, etc. The staff is obviously a major asset to this business. Atmosphere.. as we knew before making our reservation, it was noisy to the point that conversation was difficult, and our servers had trouble hearing us. If weather allows next time will eat outside. Value.....fairly pricey, but we feel worth it.

Yelp
I have been here several times and it's one of my favorite places to go when I'm in the area. To start, we order the Parker house rolls and they are absolutely delicious. Freshly baked and dolloped with pesto butter and flaky salt, they are perfect. I always order the crispy chicken Caesar and it's the right combination of fresh and indulgent. The chicken is crispy and seasoned well and the dressed salad is bright. The kids menu is really great. My son loves their chicken tenders and fries. Kids meals come with an ice cream sandwich. We always make a reservation when we visit so we never have to wait for a table. The restaurant is clean and bright. I have no negative comments to share!

Yelp
My fiancée and I came to Laguna/Dana Point for a staycation for New Year's and we knew not much would be open but we called and they said it was a 45 minute wait. If you got a seat at the bar there wasn't a wait but we maybe waited 20 minutes. It was at a high top table in the bar area, opposed to a booth but we after looking for places and most being closed we didn't care. Unfortunately, I don't remember our servers name...she was sweet but seemed very busy. We ordered the smoked fish dip, cioppino, and ribs. The dip came out first and was like a creamy tuna salad with smokiness, so it had great flavor. Then the ribs came out which were good but not great. Sadly our server didn't get our cioppino order so we had to ask for it but it was worth the wait. It didn't have enough bread (but I was full by then) but the cioppino was flavorful, not salty, and maybe didn't have the most seafood in it but what it did have was fresh and quality tasting seafood. I prefer getting better food than a lot. That being said, it wasn't a small portion but recently we had another cioppino elsewhere and it had a ton of seafood but wasn't as tasty. So, all in all I recommend this spot they have a small parking lot, good service, heavy alcohol pours, and great food.

Yelp
I wanted to give this place 5 stars but I got food poisoning shortly after my visit which pretty much ruined my vacation to California. I'm not sure if it was the crab cake or the shrimp cocktail but something absolutely did not sit well with me. :( Now, to be completely honest, I would be willing to visit again because the food was great and the ambiance was to die for. Location = PRICELESS! I really enjoyed myself!

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while, but realized that one of the things that I love is the Caesar salad with grilled salmon, It's actually not on the menu, but they always make an exception and tweak it a little bit for me . The service was great. We had a guy named Nick was on fire great stories very attentive.. great with the recommendations even though we have all been there quite a few times. Somehow, we got talked into two desserts. They're famous butter, cake, and the hot fudge sundae. Both , to die for... So damn good .... There's limited parking in the back of the restaurant, but there's also parking across the street . They have these great heaters outside, but I recommend sitting on the inside . It's Cozy.

Yelp
I randomly found this place on Yelp today as hubby & I was searching for a place to eat for lunch & I'm glad we got to try it! We started off a glass of champagne to cheer the new year & then a Bloody Mary to share. As for food, we had clam chowder, fresh raw oysters & panko crusted chicken Caesar Salad. Everything was delicious! Service was quick & excellent! Ambiance was modern & nice. We sat outside in the patio. Weather was chilly since we were near the beach but sitting by the heater felt cozy. I would like to come back & try their dinner menu.

Yelp
Stopped in for Father's Day lunch with my family and we are all happy that we chose this spot. It's a casual seafood centered American restaurant fairly close to the water in Dana Point. It's above the harbor so not as close to the boats as you can get, but parking in this area is much easier. They have a medium-sized parking lot attached so there is plenty of free parking. Inside of the restaurant is designed really well, it's a new construction with California colors and textures, tall ceilings, white walls, and spread out seating. We were seated at a booth near the kitchen and it was actually very quiet. It would be easy to bring small or large groups here because they have booth and small to large table options. Our server was very polite and all of our food items came out quickly. They have a medium-sized menu, but it is full of a lot of classic American dishes that have a seafood lean to them. I started off my meal with the Clam Chowder and thought it was fantastic. It was less creamy than I am used to, but the bacon addition really added to the overall flavors. For my entrée, I chose the Chicken BLT and added avocado and was really happy with my choice. The chicken is fairly skinny, which makes it easier to eat and the breading on it had a great and well balanced flavor. I recommend adding avocado because it added a level of creaminess to each bite. Overall a great lunch or dinner option in Dana Point. I live in West Los Angeles and my family lives in San Diego so this area is a meeting point for us so we all plan to be back in the future to try more items.
