Reasonably priced seafood with a short wait time. This is a very informal eatery and it’s certainly neat to see the fresh fish available in store. Unfortunately, our lobster roll was quite dry and many pieces were over cooked. The fish sandwich was definitely our favorite of the two but it wasn’t particularly crispy and was rather oily. The fish was still flaky and delicious however.

This place is highly underrated for their hot food. The staff was super friendly and everything we tried was incredible! The bang bang shrimp were so big and the sauce was awesome. The buffalo shrimp were cooked perfectly and not too spicy, the dipping sauce they come with is so good. Their fish tacos and French fries are also a must try. Go with friends and get as much variety as you can to try a little of everything.

My favorite place to buy seafood in the twin cities! The fish is super fresh and always turns out delicious. They have a great selection of seafood, plus nice cheeses, crackers, cured meats, cocktail mixers, etc. The prepared food they sell is also incredible. The store layout is clear and parking is easy. 10/10 recommend checking this place out!

We love this place the food is amazing but only two stars because, although they use recyclable containers they don't have the recycling separation! And when I mentioned it to an employee they became defense and dismissive and said it wasn't their problem. The world will not survive this attitude so we will go elsewhere and suggest to others to do the same.

I had lobster Mac and cheese as well as a Connecticut lobster roll and this is the place to go! Dang it was good! The entire store is full of options for fresh seafood and local merchants products. Wow! Thank you costal seafood for the great experience. Chef asked me how it was as well!

I don't know where the last reviewer is going to go. The Dakotas, Iowa? You'd have to go to Chicago where I'm from to get the display they had today. Best for 300 miles around. So he can unload 20 gallons of gas to get his fish and containers? All the hooligans are gone. They were terrible during covid. I guess when you deal in guts you become a gangster. Oh the knives. Woo-oo. Today some lady was asking how long the lobster tails had been frozen. I've accepted tails 1 year old as a hotel butcher.

We drove to Coastal Seafoods today from the burbs. Have not been to the new location and restaurant before. Lovely looking shop! We ordered at a small counter in the back. I ordered the Connecticut warmed lobster roll basket with fries and coleslaw. My husband had the Nashville hot soft shell crab basket. Two soft drinks. The bill (without tip) was $68. For that price, I would expect perfection. My lobster roll was absolutely dripping in butter. The lobster was very overcooked and dry. I tried to pick out the lobster meat from the greasy roll but it wasn't worth it. I do wish I had taken it back. The fries were decent and the horseradish slaw very good. I've heard the burger is great but at a seafood place, I want excellent seafood. I may give it one more try?

I came here to find really good quality fish to make sashimi with and I felt this was my best bet. I was really happy with the quality of fish we had gotten. It was delicious and fatty and fresh. The crew that works there is super friendly! They make me feel very welcome and comfortable in their store. They also have a fun array of other non fish related products there. They have different oils, seasonings, sauces, tinned fish, etc. The store is very clean and while it smells like fish, it smells fresh and like an ocean instead of rotting or fish that's been sitting out way too long. Go eat at their little restaurant that's in the back corner of the store! It is so delicious. We came in for a poke bowl which was their special at the time and we were VERY happy with the quality and taste. I keep meaning to go back and try more things from their restaurant and I hope to soon! If you want fresh delicious seafood come here!

IMHO We needed to find oysters for grandpa and discovered Coastal Seafoods. When you walk through the doors, you enter a bright world of seafood offerings from fresh fish to canned sardines, condiments, breads, oyster shuckers, etc. Oh, and there is a corner cafe in the back to order specialized fish sandwiches and other yummy things. If we hadn't already eaten a big lunch, I'd have loved to order some fish 'n chips! I'm a photo hobbyist and was a visitor to the area, so I was taking pictures to share on this Yelp review. There was no issue until one young employee showed his displeasure. Sorry. If you need fresh seafood and a wide variety, get thee to Coastal Seafoods! I'm sure you'll find almost anything you need.

After an unpleasant procedure at U of M clinic, being only 10 minutes away, decided to reward myself by finally trying the much-heralded Coastal Seafoods burger. It lives up to the hype. A double, but eminently eatable. All the elements held up to on-the-road noshing (a personal benchmark test.). They stayed integrated, did not slop around or crumble, and fit the hand as well as any burger I have ever tried. The flavor is wonderfully beefy, and that predominates. The other components balance and complement the meat, rather than overpower it. it is not top tier in the cities, but a very close second. Fries (chose Old Bay seasoning) were tasty, if a touch under-salted and more than a touch soft. Both personal preferences, but would have loved a few more minutes in the fryer to crisp them up rather than being limp, and the immeasurable pleasure of licking fry salt off one's fingers was denied. The fish on a stick, surprisingly for such a renowned fish monger, was the lowlight of the meal. The batter just totally overpowered the fish, which flaked and fell everywhere once the batter shell was no longer enclosing it. A neat idea, but lacking in the execution. Side note: the amount of time it takes the kitchen to kick out this treat is just perfect to allow you one circuit of Coastal Seafoods other unique and eclectic offering, check out, and be back at the register to collect your hot treasure!

My wife and I have been here so many times, so it's long overdue for me to write a review. As a fish market, nothing else in the Twin Cities compares, particularly if you're an oyster lover. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Now for the food service. OMG, get here as soon as possible! So many craveable options. My wife is absolutely addicted to their Bang Bang Shrimp. Six huge Shrimp in a light batter and a spicy mayo made in house. I like the Buffalo Shrimp. Eight blackened Shrimp with a Buffalo Mayo dipping sauce on the side. And then there's the Burger. One of my top 5 in the Twin Cities. Two crispy smashed patties, gooey cheese, house made pickles, grilled onions; my mouth is watering just writing this. I want one now! I've also had the Fish and Chips, which are a good size, again with a light batter that isn't at all greasy and doesn't leave you feeling bloated.

I originally came here to purchase fresh fish for Sushi (which is incredible), but I didn't realize that there was a little restaurant in the corner. I ordered the fish tacos and they were cooked right in front of me! Mmm, you can hear the fish sizzle as you wait. It was a fantastic fish taco.

Have come here a number of times for sushi grade fish and fresh seafood in general. They are excellent on that front. But this was my first time eating here and wow was I missing out. If you're looking for fish tacos in the area,(and maybe anywhere in MSP) come here. In the winter seating is extremely limited, but their patio is beautiful in the summer. Staff was super inviting and clearly took pride in their work. As they should - this place is an institution.

Read in a Facebook burger blog to try this place. It's part of the fresh seafood grocery store. We came early to avoid a rush as it has minimal seating. 2 tables of four and about 3 usable bar stools against the counter. My husband had the coastal burger which is a Wagyu smashed double patty. Brioche bun and not too salty. Oddly, it was on the sweet side for me, likely from the sauce. I tried the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. The shrimp were perfectly prepared, large and delish. The amount of greens was quite small, and they were drowned in Caesar dressing. My preference would be more greens, lighter in the dressing. Overall, a decent option, particularly if you need to pick up some premium seafood anyway.

I recently visited Coastal Seafoods and had an outstanding experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. Their selection of fresh seafood is impressive, and I was particularly delighted by the availability of sashimi-grade sushi. If you're looking for fresh seafood, Coastal Seafoods is definitely worth a visit. There's also ample parking available and it's next to United Noodles for those looking for an Asian grocery store as well.

Do you love all things fish and seafood? Then head directly to Coastal Seafoods! They have the best fish counter in the Twin Cities, bar none, and the best staff as well. If the quality is questionable, they won't sell it. My haul yesterday included three kinds of fresh oysters, Dover sole, Chilean sea bass, various tinned fish, seafood, and pates, plus lobster rolls from their on-site cafe. You'll find any sundries you'll need to accompany your fabulous fish, including fresh herbs and spice blends. Need one-stop shopping and have a sweet tooth? Their freezer case has you covered for top-shelf desserts. Be sure to check out their daily discounts before you go -- Friday is Educators' Day, for example.

I will say the service was what tipped it from 4 star to 5 star. The employees behind the counter were great. The employees at the cafe were awesome and the gal who checked me out was very pleasant. I was a little disappointed on today's selection. I came here to get seafood to make cioppino. Didn't have fresh raw shrimp, small clams or crab. Maybe it's the time of year but found them at Lunds. The prices were much better than Lunds. I will be a regular here even though I had to drive from Lakeville. Keep up the best customer service!!!

Coastal Seafoods is home of the best seafood in the Twin Cities without a doubt! Coastal is a restaurant and seafood market that is unparalleled in quality and selection. I have gone to the market part of it to get fish quite a number of times. I have purchased their Verlasso Salmon, King Ora Salmon, Ahi Tuna, and Crabcakes. The fish is all super fresh, super delicious, and a lot of them are even sashimi grade. I have used the salmon and tuna to make my own homemade sushi with my friends for a sushi night and it was a huge hit. I'd argue the fish here tastes way better and fresher than any of the sushi restaurants around town. Now onto the cafe, I finally had the chance to try the cafe a couple of months ago and was blown away. At the cafe, they turn a lot of the products they sell in the market side into the most delicious dishes. I decided to go with the Coastal Fish and Chips as I was really craving them after watching them post videos of making them on their Instagram. My friends got the Connecticut Style Lobster Roll. Let me just say, that may have been the best fish and chips I've ever had. The outside was crispy and flavorful, but the inside was so soft and tender. Paired with the tartar sauce, coleslaw, and fries and oh my god - you have one of the most delectable meals of all time. My friends somehow outdid me with their Connecticut style lobster roll - while I didn't get to try this, I can tell by their reactions that this was a life changing roll. By just looking at it, I can say it's one of the best, if not the best, in the Twin Cities. When (and it's when not if) I come back, I will need to try some more menu items - probably the Connecticut roll first - because everything sounded and looked absolutely phenomenal. The staff at the cafe and market are both very friendly and helpful. If you ask them to skin and debone your fish, they'll usually do it for you as well which can save a lot of time - just make sure to double check for bones because a lot of times there can be some missed sneaky ones. The cafe side is very small with just a few tables, but it wasn't too crowded when we were there and we could easily grab a table without issue. And while it was bad weather when we visited, they do have a large area outside with picnic tables that look perfect for soaking in the sun and enjoying a good lobster roll! The vibe is definitely casual, but it's extremely clean and everything in there is so pristine. Also just a fun note, but if you are planning to make sushi at home - grab some sashimi grade fish from Coastal and then head next door to United Noodles and get all of your other sushi needs (rice, nori, etc.)

Minneapolis might be about as far from an ocean as possible, but Coastal makes that easy to forget. The shop got a facelift/upgrade a couple of years ago. Importantly, they added their small cafe during this phase. The cafe slings affordable sandwiches, burgers and one of the better lobster rolls I've come across in the Cities. There are a few tables for dining in or outside, but it's mostly a takeout operation. On the shopping side, there is always a plentiful selection of fresh seafood, homemade frozen entrees/sides, a small selection of produce, condiments and other accoutrements for whatever briny concoction you're planning to make.

Coastal seafoods is NOT just a market. They've also got food. First, their market seems great. Fresh and well chosen items. Friendly staff. Second, their food is incredible. I got the fish and chips and it truly stood out as some of the best fish and chips I've had. Perfectly fried and seasoned. Fries were also perfectly fried and seasoned. And of course great cole slaw and tartar sauce. I will be back. AMBIANCE: it's a small dining area with only a handful of tables but it is very clean and comfortable. Doesn't feel like just a "grocery store cafeteria". It's a big step up from that though it is small. PARKING: not a problem here. They've got a lot.

How can I shout out how great it was finding Coastal Seafoods? The selection of available market items could have my culinary head spinning; yet, hubby and I came there for a late lunch after his 'stress tests' at the hospital. Being originally from the mid-Atlantic Dan had the soft shell crab sandwich. It was loaded with crab meat and looked awesome for a hungry man. My choice was along the lines of a starter, so I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp. Heavenly!!! The shrimp were very large, meaty, tender, fresh and full of flavor. I could eat 4 plus a bite, so hubby wasted no time devouring the balance. So good that I bought meaty cooked shrimp from the market to take home. Limited seating, so we shared a table with 2 gents (one if whom shared ideas for this newcomer of other finds to try out).

This place has the best lobster roll I've had in MN. That's it, that's all. Not sure what more I can say? It's simply the best lobster roll, you have to try it yourself. When I visited, there's no sit-down area; it's all to go. They have other options on their menu too, so check that out. I only go for my lobster rolls and even though the price keeps going up, I will continue going back. Always worth it.

A hidden gem! Absolutely loved the Connecticut Lobster Roll as the star of the show! The Coastal Burger was great as well. By the time we got to the fish tacos we were filling up so I'd give them another try before giving a fair rating. The fries and coleslaw were amazing! Not a ton of seating unless you get to visit on a warmer day as they also have outdoor seating. We browsed the market and picked up some lobster bisque and clam chowder. Can't wait to try them!

Love coastal seafoods and their new-ish lunch counter doesn't disappoint. Kids fish and chips is a great bargain. One item I haven't liked however is their soups.

We stopped here a few weeks ago to try out the cafe. I was craving some fried seafood and remembered seeing this online. We came early and luckily had parking. There is not much seating so nice we got a table instead of stools at counter. We ordered a little of everything. Fast service and nicely presented with a slice of lemon and lime. Also seasoning was perfect and not overwhelming. It is a bit of a hike but worth it. Clam strips were a bit dry so probably wouldn't order again. Tacos were fine since kinda hard to mess up. Calamari fries are the bomb and never had I had such juicy ones. I mean it kept its tenderness from frying and not rubbery. Really generous cuts and would come back just to eat this only for meal.

I just love seafood. This is my first time visiting the new Minneapolis location. I usually frequent Saint Paul. The new location is smaller than I thought, but they had so many good things. Why does seafood have to be so expensive now (sad face). Bought some fresh sashimi grade salmon to make a sushi rolls at home. Also purchased the 6/8 shrimp and they were so amazing and huge.

What a cool place to get great quality seafood! Oysters are life. So of course I tried theirs; they had four different kind of oysters and I got two of each to try. Alpine Bay we're my ultimate favorite oysters. I got a whole Red Snapper, Head on Shrimp for dinner and frozen Tuna poke cubes to make poke bowls at home! Fun place to check out, staffs very helpful and knowledgeable!

Food is delicious, service is good and staff are helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the outdoor seating. I was glad they had parking right in front of the place. Will definitely return.

There really aren't alternatives to Coastal Seafoods. It is the premier place to buy fresh fish. But my wife ordered lobsters in advance for a big birthday (mine) and the Minneapolis location didn't get them. The guy in charge refused to contact St Paul location even though we were willing to drive go pick up. We called St Paul repeatedly and they never picked up (Thursday 5/23). Ended up with Alaskan king crab that was very fishy and mediocre. They are better than the alternatives because... there are no alternatives.

Calamari: 1.5/5. The sauce was good and that's about it. 1/2 of it was literally just bell peppers. Which weren't even listed in the description on the menu Lobster roll and fries: 3/5. They shredded the lobster so it just ate weird. A little over seasoned too. Fries 3/5. Lobster rolls at smack shack are way better. Fish and chips: 5/5 good price too, very crispy. And the fish is a very large chunk. Service: the cashier had the audacity to ask verbally if we wanted to leave a tip, on a order they're just putting in a paper bag. While there are multiple signs already saying "we like tips" yah no sh**. I don't think anyone dislikes tips. Very manipulating.

It is hard to find a good lobster roll in Minnesota but I finally found one at coastal seafood cafe. It was loaded with a generous amount of lobster, well cooked and well seasoned. The bread was grilled and perfectly buttery to accompany the lobster. Their homemade slaw was also great. I can't say enough good about it. Coastal seafoods is primarily a seafood store, but there is a small cafe area to accompany it. Just a few tables so it might be a little busy depending on the day. The service was nice and friendly. I can't wait to come back and try more on their menu! (The fish and chips looked amazing!!)

We visited Coastal Seafoods for lunch and had a great experience! Inside it was busy with a line for the fresh fish and another shorter line for the cafe. The space is really great - they have everything you could ever dream of to cook seafood. The cafe is tucked in the back corner and the staff were so friendly. We each got a lobster roll - mine with mayo and my husbands the Connecticut style with butter. We sat outdoors on their patio and they served us within 10 minutes. The lobster rolls were amazing. The mayo one was light and full of herbs and tarragon. The butter one had the perfect amount of butter and was seasoned with celery salt. The lobster in both was perfectly cooked - it was juicy and sweet and so good. And they're piled with lobster which is great! The $24.99 price tag might scare you off, but we both thought there was so much lobster that it was actually a great value. My one piece of criticism is the tarragon and celery salt were strong and slightly overpowering, but this was really minor. Highly recommend and I can't wait until my next lobster roll with Coastal!

After recently purchasing items needed to make sushi, I started with non-raw seafood options but eventually decided I needed to adventure into fresh, raw salmon and tuna for the most supreme sushi roll. I knew walking into any seafood place, I would be a amateur when it comes to sushi grade seafood. Walking in, I was quickly greeted and kindly asked if I was looking for anything specific or just browsing. It was the type of greeting feel that you know they truly are just asking if you need any support, not just trying to sell. At the time I said I was okay as I was browsing all of the different items, even sampling a seafood dip with a cracker. Once I went through a selected a smoked salmon treat, I went to the raw seafood counter. I was so happy when I was greeted by a whole crew of kind staff - I let them know I am newer sushi maker and was wanting to get some salmon and tuna to take it to the next level. The staff collectively chatted with me and made me feel welcomed and not silly for not knowing exactly what I wanted. They helped me identify what I needed, and got it all ready for me. Telling me about different options and how to use them - so helpful and honestly a great experience! I did not feel silly asking for a 1/3 pound tuna and 1/2 pound salmon, just a smile and kind "of course". They even ask if you want the bone and skin removed (and if you want to keep them) - love it! On the way out, I saw a bag of rice that I was needing but there was no price - I was not sure if I wanted to do the awkward 'carry to register and ask price, then deciding if you should take it or not'. But I did, and the cashier was so friendly, letting me know the price and asking if I was interested or wanted to pass for now, giving me a moment to think and not making me feel awkward at all (I did purchase it but would have felt comfortable saying no). They were so friendly, asking if I was making anything specific, and just being conversational and kind. Plus when I had got in the line, it had got long, they sent another staff right up to help, always a plus! Side note: the café/lunch/place to order a meal looked absolutely incredible and it took so much in me not to order a lobster roll. I will be coming hungry next time and getting a lunch. For sure a plus! The entire space was sooo clean, organized, and complete with everything you might need and more. The smoked salmon I purchased did not last the day as it was the BEST my partner and I ever has had. 100000/10 recommend. Will return for not only my sushi needs but seafood and more! So happy to live nearby.

Best (only?) fishmonger in the cities. They have a good selection of fresh shellfish, whole fish, and fillets. I always grab a bag or two of frozen shrimp too-- in my opinion their private label shrimp is much better than what I get at the grocery store. They have a limited selection of other grocery items and a sandwich counter. I haven't tried anything off that menu but would like to! Love to combine a stop here with a visit to United Noodle, which is located just behind Coastal.

We have had many dishes from the MPLS location and have enjoyed them all. Tonight I tried the clam strips and the crab cake BLT. Doll went for the smashed Ahi tuna burger. She couldn't stop raving about it! She loved it so much. My crab cake BLT was excellent, huge crab cake, gonna be two meals for both of us.

Called Monday, 2-5-24, to confirm they had crab legs in stock. Also confirmed that if I went either on Tuesday for a senior's 20% discount or Wednesday for a 20% discount on all crabs, the response was all positive. Went yesterday, 2-7-24 a Wednesday, and bought two packs of King crab legs and one 5 lb. box of snow crab legs after excellent help from a counter staffer. After I put the bag inside my car and looked at the receipt, I realized that the cashier did not give me the 20% discount. I went back inside the store with the receipt and told the cashier about the missing discount. The cashier looked straight at my eyes and said all the charges were computer controlled. She did not show any sign of checking why that was so or any intention of making corrections. I told her I wanted to return the purchase, tossed the receipt on the countertop and went to my car to get the bag. She started the return process. In the meantime, I asked her whether there was a store manager. She said yes and went right away to get him. The store manager came and asked me for the receipt. I said I gave it to the cashier. The receipt was already in the wastebasket and crumbled up, and the cashier did not show any intention of getting it. The store manager had to do it. When the store manager was starting the return process, I understood why the cashier did not get the receipt because it would be impossible for her to reallocate all the excess, especially around her midsection to even attempt to complete the task. The manager then explained to me that the bagged crab legs had very low margins and they were not making much profit. I said I would not know any of that kind of background and he said he understood. I then got the feeling that he was in a tough spot. There was no need to discuss this whole situation any further. I also had lost all my appetite for getting anything from this store. During all this time, the cashier leaned against the door frame and showed the loudest and most explicit smirk on her face. I said to the store manager, " look at her, she is having the best time of her life". He just simply continued the process and said he would talk with her. The store manager was even tempered and professional. I do not believe I have ever come across any store which would not honor what is advertised publicly for their product except when possibly out of stock. Needless to say that it would be extremely unlikely that I would ever shop at this store again.

This place is such a gem in the Twin Cities community! I come here at least every other month to get sushi-grade fish for home sushi nights. My favorites are the ora king salmon (literally melt in your mouth), nordic blu salmon when the ora king isn't available, yellowtail, and ahi tuna. You really only need 1/4 to 1/2 lb to make several rolls and lots of nigiri/sashimi, so it ends up being much cheaper than going to a restaurant and the quality is amazing. On a non-sushi note, I've also tried the mussels, halibut, frozen seafood mixes (especially calamari), and seafood dips and they've all been great! On the cafe side, they also have one of my favorite lobster rolls in town at a very reasonable price (used to be like $18, now around $23). There is just slightly too much bread to lobster filling ratio. The rotating soups are also excellent. The clam strips are decent but have too much breading (but they all do outside of New England). The fries are great and come in huge portions. The service is always top notch, even when there's a huge line of customers. The staff are always very friendly and knowledgable about the fresh seafood options. They even post recipes sometimes on their Instagram page. Definitely one of my favorite shops in Minneapolis! :)

My visit to Coastal Seafoods was SO long overdue! This is such a great spot for a delicious lunch, or to treat yourself to incredible sea food. I am so grateful that they have sushi grade fish options you can trust to make poke or sushi at home!! I would suggest following their instagram for updates on selection, but is such a solid option for an easy dinner! I also tried their deli counter menu for lunch on my last visit. We ordered the salmon reuben and the fried clam basket. The salmon reuben was amazing! The flavors were incredible and strong, and the full sandwich was grilled to perfection! Highly recommend! The clam basket left something to be desired, and I wouldn't order it again. It tasted like it was 95% breading with very little clam texture or taste. The silver lining was that the fries were super crispy and seasoned incredibly! They have their own parking lot so parking is super easy!

I am obsessed with this place. If you want quality seafood you have to come here. My boyfriend and I love oysters so we always come here grab a dozen oysters and crusty bread! Yum! The oysters are a great deal. You can typically get them for 99 cents. We also have had their cafe foods which I still can't stop thinking about. We got the lobster role and crab cakes and they were insane. Ugh I could eat it everyday! Highly recommend if you are craving seafood. You can also get some speciality grocery items, which are fun to look through

Great fresh seafood. Love mussels to take home and have a bowl of mussels. Good fish selection and a wide variety. We always find good choices and a few surprises.

Great store, deli and customer service!!! Well organized, clean, bright and the deli food rivals any local seafood restaurant.

OVERALL: As you might expect, some delicious seafood! FOOD: We originally went just for the cafe to try the lobster roll (thank you Instagram for helping me stumble upon it) and it did not disappoint. Packed to the brim and so flavorful! The bread is so toasty and buttery. We also ordered some truffle fries as well but they definitely were not the star of our meal. For seafood we purchased raw, we got oysters & scallops. We really loved being able to cook such fresh seafood at home. PRICE: I think that the lobster roll here is one of the best value in the cities coming in at $18. Typically an emptier roll goes for $20! So glad that we were able to get a bang for our buck. SERVICE: the service was kind, but a bit slow because of how many orders they had! SAFETY: Masks required, limited amounts of people in store. We did take out as well.

This place is amazing!!! The seafood is very fresh and they have daily specials. Plus the staff is friendly and they have a place to order food like sandwiches and different styles of fries. I will be back here again

I grew up having seafood as a special delicacy and growing up on the west coast, I've tried my fair share of fresh seafood. It's everywhere and has a distinct flavor that is unforgettable. Coming to Coastal Seafoods was like coming home again. As soon as I entered the smell that wafted in was incredible. I could tell JUST by the smell that everything they sold was fresh and I bet when cooked it would be absolutely delicious. It looked expensive but very worth it. I was tempted to get some raw seafood to take home but I had my eyes on another prize: the cafe. I've heard raving reviews of their cafe and so my husband and I got a lobster roll each. And they were gigantic! Totally worth the price. The bun itself was seasoned and had a flavor explosion. The lobster was towering on top and every bite was juicy. It was so good I could cry - and was actually kind of sad when I finished eating it. This is one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. Thank you for letting me experience being back on the west coast again. I loved this place and can't wait to come again. Side note, their pandemic response is phenomenal. They limited the number of customers inside and even had temperature checks for every customer prior to entering. A++ from this covid nurse.

The remodel at Coastal Seafoods is gorgeous! Plus they are super safe by limiting the number of people in the space and read your forehead temperature for good measure. After it's your turn to enter the choices are many! Fresh seafood, frozen seafood, ice cream, cheese, smoked salmon, seasonings, accessories, all of the things! There is so much to see and choose from! They even have a deli with lobstah rolls, tuna sandwiches, and other delicious eats. I've got to stop back to try them all because they all sounded so good. Definitely make it a stop for all of your seafood needs especially a fall cookout before the weather turns cold. They did a great job with the space! The service & quality is top notch as always!

The absolute go to place for seafood for cooks! Great and friendly service. Wide variety and fresher than you could ever think possible in the middle of the continent.

Great fish and chips! Coke slaw is delicious too. Quick turnaround on the order and can call ahead. Well worth a visit!

Came to purchase some salmon for a Saturday dinner. Salmon is 20% of on Thursdays. Got the Norwegian salmon, which was fantastic after grilling with a soy-ginger marinade. The new location is down the street from the old and is much larger in size. They have a nice lunch area and we got fish tacos and a lobster roll. Yes, the lobster roll is $23.99. This is about what they'd cost back home, so I didn't bat an eye. I've spent over $20 on lunch elsewhere, so this wasn't crazy. My friend said the fish tacos were stellar. Had a bit of heat and were nicely filling. And man, that lobster roll transported me back east on a perfectly toasted bun with juicy, well-balanced lobster salad. I felt tempted to get another to go, yet couldn't justify spending almost $60 on lunch. It was nicely filling, anyway, so I was sated. I just felt really surprised that it was so much like back home. I have been a fan of Coastal Seafoods for years. This is from where I'd buy Chilean Sea Bass to send back to my mom, along with crab legs and crab cakes. I loved hearing the delight in her voice when she'd open the box. The customer service is stellar, like the quality of what you'll find here. They also have a variety of classes one can catch. It goes without saying that I will be coming back.

A friend of mine sent me a list of seafood restaurants to try & Coastal Seafoods was on the list. I went to give it a try & I am actually impressed. The lobster roll is delicious. The best part is the way they buttered & toasted the bread. I will surely be back:).

I love picking up variety of oysters from here, ranges from 99 cents to 1.25 cents. They are fresh from all over the US. The place is clean and organized. The staffs are wonderful people there. I highly recommend coming here for seafood. Just so you know, this place is packed expect a line.

I always make cioppino when I visit my parents. The dish calls for a variety of fresh seafood and many grocery stores often don't have everything I need, let alone fresh not frozen. Never the case here. The variety, selection, quality, are all amazing. My parents live in the suburbs so its definitely a haul to get there, but if you need the best in seafood, then its worth the drive. The staff was all friendly and helpful. They can suggest preparation methods and will custom cut the amount you need. While the shop also sells other gourmet foods, it is a bit higher prices than many other places. Again this is the spot for seafood. Social distancing protocols all in place, felt totally safe. 10/10 will be going back.

Ok, time to review the new digs! They did a great job with the updates and additional options. The opening may have been one of the few times I said "Yes!", out loud when reading about the details. Obviously more space, way more comfortable experience while maintaining the special, exclusive feeling you get when you find the place all the restaurants shop at. The walk up counter is easier to navigate and more than 2-3 people can be helped at a time. Quality and selection is just as good as it was. No where else I would recommend buying fresh seafood. And now that you have a prepared food/cafe option, it doesn't get much better. I had the tuna fish melt and a bowl of the gumbo so far, amazing. Just as good as you would expect. Huge fan!

Their new location is great! Just across the street from their old digs and next to United Noodles. A big improvement from the old cramped space. If you want really fresh seafood then Coastal is the place. All kinds of shellfish, whole fish, oysters, etc. Add to this a complete supplemental grocery with pasta, sauces, etc., and you can make a complete meal here. They have also added a super cheese selection which is right up there with Surdyk's and France 44. And they have a small cooked food area as well! They roped off part of the parking lot and have a few tables outside. I would give them 5 stars but they still have not changed their ordering process. Please implement a take a number system!

Oooh my Gosh... I didn't even know this place exist. I love their sandwiches and fresh fish. We got Lobster Roll and Tuna Sandwich. But next time I want to get some fresh fish.

This past Thursday I had the privilege of going to coastal Seafoods how to learn to shock oysters their first class of the season and I really learned the various type of oysters but a few recipes as well I learn how to do it and now it's not gonna be a challenge to buy some at coastal seafood and bring them home and shuck my own oysters. Thanks to the two pros from costal seafood for the hospitality.

First time checking this out. I usually shop next door at United Noodles. Got the lobster roll. Excellent food, service and product layout
