Came here to check out the Miracle Christmas pop up bar and was not disappointed. The drinks were strong and served in cute mugs. The two bartenders working last night were very friendly and efficient. Overall a festive and fun atmosphere.

Food was a little disappointing. I had a brisket burger but took the bun out. My meat was quite fatty. Mac and cheese was ok. I did like the onion rings. A little greasy but good. My apple dessert was very liquidy. 😞

Good BBq I got the pork ribs which were really good Mac and cheese which was delicious French fries were a little too oversalted The brisket was delicious and tender the beans were delicious potato salad was very good Service was excellent

Me and my wife came across this place when we were driving in San Diego with our box truck company. We had a late drop off and we would started and looking for something to eat because we we’re starving and we came across this place even though it was late they still served us with good customer service and the food was still good. we ended up getting a meat combo. I don’t remember which one or what kind but I know it came with brisket and ribs plus sides and everything was so good and seasoned and tender. And to add to it, it had great scenery as well. So if you’re ever in San Diego, please go check this place out….. I LOVE GOOD BBQ AND THEY HAVE IT!! ✅👍🏽

I'm so glad we did this at the beginning of our stay because we went back for another try. Really enjoyed the BBQ. Brisket was flavorful and didn't need sauce. Ribs fell off the bone and the potato salad with bacon...yummy! All the food was great, the drinks were ok. Great decorations and outdoor seating. Burger is similar to a large smash burger, which i love. Brisket chili alone is a great helping/portion. It's definitely a great spot for lunch or dinner. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Had gluten-free options for friends, which was awesome.

Whoa baby. I did not expect bbq to be this GOOD at the boardwalk. Typically boardwalk food is mid but not the case for Coaster Saloon. The brisket was delicious, the pulled pork was super tender and the grilled chicken was made to perfection. My wife loved the street corn! The Mac and cheese was piping hot!! The crunchiest in there was a nice touch. Corn bread is a must try! Special shout out to our server Alex for taking care of us on a busy night!

Stopped by after walking the Mission Beach boardwalk and stumbling upon this spot, and it did not disappoint! We tried the pulled pork nachos and they were absolute fire — loaded with flavor, perfectly cheesy, and that BBQ sauce on the side? Insane. Sweet, smoky, and the perfect pairing. The vibe here is just as good as the food. They’ve got a cool backyard-style area with games like giant Connect Four, which made it a fun and laid-back hangout spot.

Great GF buns for there sandwich options. Great brisket and pulled pork. Highly recommend the Kuba Sandwich too! Dog friendly patio. Edit - Went back the next day and enjoyed their chicken strips (huge), onion rings (also huge!), brisket chili (superb) and fish and chips. You will Not leave hungry and will enjoy it!

This large restaurant and sports bar has large indoor and outdoor seating areas with a large bar area in the center of the restaurant. It was weekday mid afternoon and only a few tables were occupied. TVs line the walls enabling patrons to watch any game televised. Hailey was our server and greeted us warmly. My wife and I ordered cocktails to start. They were strong and well made. It was a great way to get our evening kick started. We ordered the TJ Burger (4/5) and the Kuba sandwich (4/5). Each sandwich came with an abundance of crispy French fries (5/5). My burger was juicy and well made. The grilled jalapeno added some great spice to the burger. The Kuba sandwich is Coasters take on a Cuban sandwich using smoked pulled pork in lieu of roasted pork. They press it so the bread is super crunchy/crispy. I got a few bites of my wife's sandwich and it was pretty tasty. We had a good late lunch at the coaster saloon. My only request to the ownership would be to purchase a flame grill so burgers get that same smoky charred flavor that BBQ lovers appreciate. A chargrilled burger would be a difference maker and set coaster apart from the hundreds of smash/flat top burgers throughout San Diego. My opinion....

We come here every time we are in the Mission Beach area--it never disappoints. The meat so tender no knives needed! Steven is a gracious server with manners! Everyone is friendly here.

Just had the best baby back ribs I've ever eaten here. These guys know their BBQ!! The home made BBQ sauce is phenomenal. April's amazing service with a smile made the whole experience even better. Kuba and his brother really have got this place just right. Really great and friendly ambiance. Also. Being Christmastime. I've never seen a more festive bar diner in my life. 10/10 guys. I'll be back

Was craving BBQ and I wasn't expecting much from a spot right across from Belmont Park, but I was pleasantly surprised at the value and quality of food! I got the bbq feast for a party of 2 and split it between 3 people and we still had some food leftover. The chicken was my favorite of the meat and I was a big fan of their potato salad as well. The baked beans had ground beef in them which threw me off a bit, but overall the platter was great. For a Sunday evening it wasn't too busy and the food came out super fast.

Ok, so I wanted tacos and my son wanted bbq. we ended up playing rock paper scissors shoe, and he won lol so we ended up at this spot and I'm so glad he won!! The food here was delicious my son got the loaded fries and we also got the plate for two with chicken and brisket it comes with three sides, so we got the bbeans, collar greens and corn plus corn bread and it was just the best! Service was also great!! Will definitely return

A group of us had lunch at the Coaster Saloon today. We all had burgers. 3 people had the classic burger and I had the TJ burger. The burgers were delicious and the fries were amazing! The fries were crispy on the outside and creamy inside. The burger had a nice char and a grilled flavor. We celebrated a birthday and the banana pudding was creamy, flavorful and rich (in a good way). What really added to the experience was our server Steve. Steve was a wonderful server. He has a great personality, never rushed us and checked in on us regularly. He made our lunch very special.

I was recently on a work trip and stayed just down the street from the Coaster Saloon. I took a walk there to grab a bite to eat and have a beer. I was extremely happy with my choice. I'd read reviews and decided this was a good place to check out. I ordered a couple local craft beers throughout the time there. I also ordered their Party Fowl chicken sandwich with Carolina Gold sauce. What a tasty sandwich! The entire time I was there, staff stopped over to check in and make sure food was warm and the beer was cold. The atmosphere of this bar and grill was perfect for a low key Wednesday evening dinner. The decor was great! I was glad I made the walk to eat here. There wasn't a whole lot of other sit-down places in the evening in this area. They do a good job of making this a welcoming joint.

Great food. Wonderful staff. Located right beside San Diego's historic amusement venue, Belmont Park, and Mission Beach. Makes a great day for any occasion. Highly recommended.

Came for lunch and it was so delicious!! Steven our waiter was so friendly and attentive. Coaster is one of our favorite spots to come to when we come down to the beach. Beers are nice and cold and the food is always on point. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a great meal!

Our server was incredibly disrespectful and rude. I don't remember her name but she ruined my experience. She was clearly sarcastic and passive aggressive. For a place right in mission beach I'm disappointed

Tucked in near the boardwalk of Mission Beach lies this hidden gem. If you're around the Belmont park area, it's only a short walk away. It's a small interior, but they do have outdoor seating also. The outdoor seating is great if you like people watching. The food is actually surprisingly good. There's not a whole lot of good bbq in San Diego, but this place has some of the most tender brisket I've had. The ribs are also fall off the bone tender! The sides are pretty decent too. Staff were very nice and attentive. They would swing by and check up on us and see if we needed refills on drinks.

Just came back from a weekend in Mission Beach. Staying at a resort down the street while in town for a music festival, we arrived Friday ready to kick off the weekend. Just a couple of short blocks and we found Coaster Saloon and can say honestly. Can't wait to go back. We decided to sit at the bar and were warmly greeted by the bartender Kuba. He was super friendly, made great recommendations on the menu and took great care of us. My husband ordered the wings with the dry rub and got the Carolina gold sauce on the side. He was in heaven! I opted to try one of their bbq meats and picked the hot link plate. Wow, they were delicious! As sides I got coleslaw and the bbq baked beans-was not disappointed. Shared it all with my husband and we agreed it was some of the best flavors we've had. Kuba then shared about their awesome loyalty program-immediately signed up! It was so good, we ended up coming back later that night after checking things out around the area for a night cap and to order some food to go. Thought it would be the perfect meal after a day and night at a music festival when we got back to our hotel the next night. Again Kuba took great care of us, ensuring our take out order was handled with care and packet up neatly with utensils, napkins etc. I'll tell you, it hit the spot! Husband and I went to bed happy and full! Thank you Kuba for such a great experience our first time visiting. We'll be sure to come in again soon!

Went to mini golf nearby & was craving BBQ after! I came in with pretty low expectations with it being in such a popular area - like who's going to get great BBQ at Mission Beach? WELL I WAS WRONG! Our server was consistently checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed. If we had any questions, she would always answer everything patiently. Sometimes when you're being served, you can tell it's just a job but our server really made you feel taken care of in a genuine way. We got the 2 meat BBQ plate (hot links & brisket), chicken tenders & TJ Burger. The BBQ plate came with hot links - the most pleasant experience that these hot links had bits of jalapeño AND cheese in them. They were succulent with a kick. I'm still craving them as I write this and it's been months later. The brisket was tender and I like all the sauces they have you can choose from. The TJ burger has a roasted jalapeño on it which makes it sooooo good. It was packed with ingredients & was well balanced. The chicken tenders were huge & had the right amount of crisp. Great job Coaster Saloon!

I don't understand why a dish that can be meatless has meat! BBQ restaurants already have plenty of meat-why not have some side dishes that can be enjoyed by people who don't eat meat (pork, specifically, in my case). The potato salad, collard greens, and baked beans ALL have pork. So, I ordered a pastrami sandwich. There was one slayer of meat! Considering that I substituted two meats (pulled pork and ham) in the Kuba sandwich for only one meat (pastrami), I should have been given a bit more meat. The meat that I was given was very fatty, too. By the time I forked off all of the fat, I could only eat 1/2 of the sandwich (there wasn't enough meat left for the other 1/2). Also, the fries (frozen) were overcooked and dry. The waitress simply said, "Sorry," and walked away. I don't plan on coming back...

This place was just alright. We got the tri tip special and were not super impressed. It was a bit dry and bland and expensive for the quality. The beer and drink selection was nice and appreciate the gigantic sizes. Staff was nice and accommodating despite some weird interactions with seemingly in-training waitress. It did the job but likely wouldn't go back for the food.

I ordered via Uber Eats as reviews were good. Maybe it was an off day, idk? I ordered the two meat plate. Portions were very small for what I was expecting - comparing it to the 2 meat plate at similar restaurants. The chicken on the plate was tasty but the tri-tip was pretty dry and chewy. The PBJ burger that I bought for my kid was tasty and unique. Not sure if it would have been any different if I were in person. May try it again as there were some positives, but the portions on that plate were pretty small.

Coaster Saloon is my go too when I'm in Mission Beach, the food never fails to impress, they have one of the best beer menus on the boardwalk and the service is always warm and welcoming. Special shout out to Stephen for helping me cure my hangover yesterday with a Stary and some mac and cheese! 10/10 experience here always!

After dancing by the beach, we decided to get some food and this joint was within walking distance and was still open. I had this spot on my list to try, but didn't realize it was located by the roller coaster haha. There was 3 of us and we decided to share the party of 2! This platter is served with Texas toast, house pickles, onions, and comes with brisket, smoked pulled pork, bbq chicken breast, and 3 sides! For our sides, we chose fries, green beans, and mac n cheese! It didn't look like much, but it was a lot of meat! The sides were filling and everything was good. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Service was okay at first, but got friendlier as the night went on.

We did have a great experience. Street corn is the best in the business. Top 5 best coleslaw I have ever eaten. Mac and cheese is also a top 5. Great BBQ sauce. Be careful, the prices are getting high. $19 for a burger, yikes! We have no problem coming back here one day. See our YouTube channel Coolest Life.

The food was great, I ordered a kuba sandwich, which was flavorful. The atmosphere was warm and the hostess was the sweetest.

This place was sooo good! Service and food 10/10! Also kid friendly which is a huge plus with 2 toddlers.

This place is legit. As a southern east coaster I can tell you that it is as good as any barbecue I've had back home. Service was awesome, Steve took care of us and kept the drinks full. Awesome casual seating and porch like feel. 10/10. Try the bread pudding if you want to close out the meal on a sweet note. If you leave hungry it is your own fault!

We came here on a slow rainy Friday for a few HH drinks and some BBQ. Our sister was Steven and he was very friendly and attentive. The owner even brought our pup bacon, so she is now a lifetime friend the brisket was delicious, and the Mac N Cheese is amazing, worth the upcharge. We also love the street corn. We will definitely be back for more delicious BBQ

I can't lie I was a little skeptical about this place simply, because of its location. Tourist locations & bbq on the west coast do not usually pan out to well. My older son wanted bbq, which turned out to be the best bbq spot on this side of the map without a doubt... the beans & the brisket were the star of the show for me. The wife & I had a shareable tray with chicken included which was equally as good. The smaller kids loved their burgers & my older son loved his order of loaded fries. Customer service to top it off was superb too. The manager coming out to assure we were gettin the right dishes only confirmed we made the right choice by stopping here. We definitely will return here whenever we're in the area again!

Stopped by for dinner on 8/8/25. The restaurant lively the food was excellent, and the service was great, especially considering there was a large party of about 25 that was seated a little after we were. When your visiting the Belmont boardwalk, I would recommend this restaurant.

The children tenders are the best I've had!!! My hubby and I ordered the chicken tenders as an appetizer, what we got was four of the biggest and most tender chicken The street corn side dish, actually all the sides were delicious as well. We will definitely call this our Mission Beach go to for BBQ!!!

Stopped in on a Wednesday around 4:00 pm. Attentive staff. Good food. Had a rough margarita for $10 and 2 pork sliders for another $10 that were very good. When I got my bill, a 5% service charge had been added to the tax without being itemized or even noted. THIS IS NOT COOL OR ETHICAL! They already charge steep prices for a beach bar. Nothing fancy here. My server pointed out that the charge was explained in fine print at the bottom of the menus. It's time for the Cohn Family Restaurants to knock off this piddling cheesy con, unless they want to change their name to "The Con" group. Be upfront and show your true prices on your menus. To his credit, the server took the extra 5% off my bill without complaining. Also, adding sales tax to drinks bought and consumed at the bar is also tacky. What's next for the Cohn group? Pay toilets?

The Coaster Saloon is a fun place to eat and watch a game. The BBQ and burgers should be tried. Great tasting food with unparalleled service. Thank you Maciej.

We were staying at a VRBO about a block away ...we ordered the bacon/bleu cheese burger, mushroom burger and the Cuban ...all were fantastic. What was especially helpful was the gluten-free options. ANDREA WAS A FABULOUS SERVER! ...it also helped that we were able to have our doggo on the patio - thank you!! We enjoyed the meal so much that we ended up back at the restaurant on two other occasions. Chicken strips, onion rings, fish n chips, chili, taco Tuesday. I will be honest ...I didn't love the tacos - I was surprised at that since they are a special. I also ordered a margarita to accompany my tacos ...an incredibly small drink and, yes, I drank it, but not the best margarita I've ever had.

The guy who sat us down was kind and considerate. I also appreciated his humor. His colleague, on the other hand, needs to take some notes about how it's done. Maybe she was still in-training? Not sure, she never introduced herself. Just showed up and stood there staring at me for a solid handful of minutes. I felt mildly uncomfortable. Food was just okay. The tri tip was pretty dry, and the Mac and cheese was bland. What I appreciated the most was that they had a "big" option for their beers. I got a kick out of their big beer mugs.

Oh my goodness is all I was saying my whole time here! The food, the drinks, the service all 10/10!! We we're staying in Oceanside with my in-laws, but decided to go to San Diego right before heading back to the heat in Arizona and decided we wanted to grab some lunch so I immediately yelped what was around and was immediately drawn to coaster saloon. We also did have our two doggies with us and we're delighted that they are also pet friendly! But onto the important part, the food and the drinks, not only did they have very fast and friendly service. The food was so fresh and the drinks were delicious. I normally don't get a frozen cocktail, but this one did not disappoint! I ordered the best chicken salad, the SOB Salad that I would just drive back for this salad!! My girlfriend ordered the party fowl sandwich which also comes with the best fries and she loved it!! Definitely will be visiting again!

Hailey was absolutely amazing! She was very attentive and I would say some of the best service I've received in a very long time! She sold me on the BBQ and I was so pleased I took her advice! Football on every TV and it just felt like a very homey bar! Loved the environment! I will be back!

We had a great time watching Monday Night Football here last night. The food was tasty and fairly priced. Server, April and bar manager, Kuba were especially friendly, attentive and fun to be around.

My first time trying this was during restaurant week a few years ago. Fell in love with their Mac and cheese and keep on getting every time. I love how it's creamy and has breadcrumb which gives a crunch. I Can here back in April with my family. I got impossible burger which was delicious. The dessert was also really good and with the ice cream it was the perfect amount of sweetness. My family loved their food.they thought it was good. It such a cute place close to mission bay. The aesthetic of this place is so cute and family oriented. I will be coming back because it has good food and the service was great too.

This location was perfect for our team Lunch following our softball games. The restaurant is perfect for larger groups and families. The menu has plenty of options for all ages. We went with the BBQ platter for 2 and it did not disappoint. The brisket was so tender and well seasoned I would definitely order it again. Our server, Hailey, was great considering we had such a large party. Her coworkers jumped in to help bringing food in a timely manner and with a warm smile. The whole staff is terrific.

Stayed in San Diego with my family for a week. We came here 3 different times. The staff here treated us like we have known them for years. We had great service and a great time each time we stopped by!!We had the brisket nachos and the brisket was amazing. The atmosphere and vibes are spot on! Great family and or adult restaurant to have a great time. We will be back next year for sure!!

Came here during a Sunday afternoon during Sunday football. There's plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Getting seated was quick. Server took our orders and food came out pretty quickly. There's plenty of TVs all around so this is a great spot to watch sports. We ordered the corn nachos and added brisket and the ribs plate. Food was delicious.

Food was amazing! Ordered the Mac with brisket, very fulfilling! Then I got the Q Burger and its MASSIVE just like its flavor, after I got the banana pudding dessert! Great Service from Haley, very attentive and a great conversationist. She helped guide drink and food choices and she didn't steer me wrong!

The food was amazing, service was wonderful, and it was a nice atmosphere super close to Belmont.
