If you want the TLDR, it's worth the drive and the price tag. Just go and enjoy yourself.
I had been dying to try Cob & Cork since they opened, and I was finally given the chance. It's a small industrial-designed place with greys, wood, and black accents. It's more modern minimalism with a bit of rustic charm. There is a full bar, and Lauren, our server, was by far one of the best I've had in this state. She is worth mentioning by name and definitely worth asking to sit in her section. She was knowledgeable, thoughtful, made good suggestions, and ensured our visit was truly an experience.
We started with drinks, and the hibiscus margarita is incredibly tasty. Actually, ALL the drinks we had were inventive and delicious. One drink was made slightly wrong, and Lauren had the bar remake it. I would definitely order something off their specialty menu because you won't find another place in the area with such pretty presentation or combination of flavors.
The food was enormous portions, delicious, and everything was perfect. The ahi tuna was perfectly cooked - seared on the outside with sesame seeds, and a magenta color in the middle. I had the jaeger schnitzel, which was pounded thin and super crispy (AND THAT BERRY COMPOTE!!!), and the mushroom topping on top was fabulous. While the ribs weren't smoked, and they were more crockpot/baked style, they were still fall off the bone. We did order dessert and as a special touch, she put candles on them "just because, just to celebrate." I didn't taste the chocolate dessert, but the strawberry rhubarb crumble was heavenly, especially with the glass of port to go with it (don't skimp, order it!).
It was truly one of the nicest dinners I've been to in a long time. The food and drinks were good, but Lauren put it over the top for us. We will definitely be back and encourage our friends to try it - the more the merrier!
