We'll pet-loving yelpers; it's the end of a beautiful relationship with Cobalt. Since 2009 I have been coming to VBH's restaurant Cobalt, and I have 95% of the time had my beloved pet in tow.
This morning was no different; I said good morning and asked for a shady spot on the patio for breakfast. The two hostesses, who could not be more than 17 years old, rolled their eyes and stated, "NO DOGS ALLOWED." I politely said I've been a loyal customer for many years and have always come for breakfast/lunch on the patio and had my dog with me.
They then stated, "oh, only service dogs allowed." I asked which is it? They said that's the rule and looked at each dumbfounded, clearly showing they didn't know what the rule was. I asked for a manager and was told: "they are not available."
I want to add the level of customer service in Cobalt has declined dramatically over the past few years, and the same with the menu, removing long-time locals' favorite items and overdone food, etc.
I spoke briefly to the valet on duty, and he agreed that the restaurant had seen a considerable decline. The quality of customer service is due to hiring inexperienced individuals with little to no manners or ability to speak to adults with respect! We high-five on that statement.
So yelpers, visit at your discretion, and I will be taking my Sunday breakfast routine elsewhere! If the pup can't attend, I won't either...that's how I roll! CHEERS!!
