Genuine local feeling and one of the kindest women I have ever met running the show. Turkish tea and Turkish coffee both of high quality. I will be bringing family here.

This place is absolutely wonderful! First of all, the atmosphere was extremely homely. We sat down and it genuinely felt like i was sitting in the kitchen at my grandmothers house we absolutely loved it. the two owners were super sweet and made sure we had everything we needed and more. the food itself was amazing, we only had the mediterranean food but it genuinely tasted homemade and full of love! we both got thai lattes and they were delicious (and not too sweet!). they played classical music quietly and overall it was such a good experience we will absolutely be back soon!! if i could give cobblestone more stars i absolutely would. side note: there is no parking lot so make sure you get street parking!

The food was amazing. It was like getting food from your mom. Some of the items were like one of the most basic things you can imagine, but it was just so flavorful and perfectly put together. It was exactly what I needed after a really horrible hectic night with a breakdown of our car. Such a cute little spot the restaurant itself has all kinds of personal touches and I just really loved the owner. She was expected. Sweet and kind and will definitely be going again.

Google
Little gem of a place around the corner from The Green. The 2 wonderful ladies running the place are great. I stopped by for one of their $9.95 Combo plates and a cup of Turkish Coffee. Simple but delicious home cooked meal and I was ready for the day.

Google
This is my absolute #1 comfort spot!! Shima is an absolute joy and does a wonderful job of running this business! When Nora is able to come in, she is wonderful as well. The food is always delicious and it's the only place where I never feel rushed or unwanted. I tell people it's like sitting in your grandma's kitchen.

Google
This tiny hidden gem 💎 that you would never know was as incredible as it is if you didn't make an effort to seek it out. I always attempt to find local coffee ☕️ shops when I am in a new town and got some time to spare. Boy am I glad I did this past Friday! I could have went to DD right across the street (literally across the st) from a local tattoo shop I was visiting while my son was getting his first tattoo. I had a few to choose from but randomly choose here, again super glad I did. I found parking right away and walked not even far at all to the shop. I go in and there was people sitting and having a chat and the older Turkish woman was behind the counter busy rushing around to gather their food. It reminded as if I stepped into her actual home. A local patron came in and greeted her and it instantly dawned on me I made the right choice of coffee shops. I was disappointed as I saw it didnt have a huge selection of coffee item's as a typical coffee house would. But to my complete surprise it was one of the best cups I have ever had. I never had Turkish coffee ☕️ so I asked for some and noticed like Italian espresso its on yay big. I saw there was a special, a cup of coffee with a piece of Turkish delight. I never had either and politely asked to have that special along with a breakfast burrito 🌯 with meat (she asks if u do or do not want it because its sausage) and a breakfast stuffed croissant. Seeing how big the coffee was i added an iced coffee to the order. She was the only worker and like any grandma she whipped it up so fast and fresh. She told me how to eat the candy with the drink of coffee n to not drink it quickly as it had the fresh grounds in the bottom. I was floored at how good both the iced coffee and plain 2 shot Turkish black coffee was, and how incredibly bold and strong 💪 😍 it was!!! WhichBTW, i love and always seek in my coffee choices. The food was sooooooooo good!!!! I never had a croissant that was that long and buttered n golden it was like a movie with how well that was baked. The cheese was gooey and the egg was perfect and you could tell by the kick to the sausage that it was quality sausage!!!! My son tore his burrito up!!! We tried to go back on Saturday for another round when he was getting his haircut literally right up the block!! But she wasn't open for some reason. Whenever I can I would absolutely 💯 visit again!!!

Google
Amazing! Owner was so nice, baklava and Turkish coffee was amazing and atmosphere was so warm and home-y.

Google
The cutest little restaurant the atmosphere was such a cozy aesthetic with calm classical music playing along with dim lights and books everywhere the food was great i had the gyro and i couldn’t get enough thank you so much !!

Yelp
I am surprised at the high reviews. This place has potential but I think the overall review might be based on the low prices. We had a club sandwich and Turkish coffee. Ok, nothing spectacular. They don't have a commercial kitchen so I can't really imagine they do much cooking. They use residential style electric griddles to cook. Overall ok for a quick bite.

Yelp
Such a cute spot! Great food and coffee, inside is cute and cozy. Staff made us feel at home. Would absolutely go back!!

Bill G.

Yelp
We chose to stop by this establishment because Yelp gave a 4.4 rating. However, I must say that the restaurant was filthy as was the restroom and the food was inedible in my opinion. The staff however was very pleasant.
google avatar

Cathy K.

Yelp
Ordered grilled cheese for lunch- it was greasy, ham was chewy and sloppy. Served on paper plate. Nothing else, just a great sandwich on a paper plate . With iced tea- $11.00. Bathroom you have to walk through filthy kitchen to get to it.

George A.

Yelp
If I had a Turkish grandmother she would obviously work here. Stumbled upon this place and it was nothing but magical. For 20$ we got 2 Turkish coffee (strongly recommend) a breakfast burrito and a pancake platter. Everything was fresh and made with love. Wished I lived closer I'd make this place a routine stop for coffee and breakfast
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place. Some of the best baklava and chia tea I've ever had. We can't wait to come back. The ladies who work there are the kindest people, I've ever met. The cafe is such a cute little place in the heart of Dover.

Antoinette Q.

Yelp
Lovely little café, with books and classical music; good food and courteous, friendly service.Cann't wait to go back

Thomas C.

Yelp
I had a delightful breakfast at this cozy and quaint cafe in a historic area of Dover. Our Iraqi hosts were friendly and welcoming. I had the home fries which were delicious but could have been better with some onions or green peppers. I also had an omelet with sausage.

Yelp
3.5 stars, rounded up because I don't want to give three stars. I just don't. The Cobblestone Cafe sits just a block away from the center of history in Dover. It's just off of "The Green" which is the rectangle of houses that were the beginning of this city and are now mostly legal offices and administrative buildings. This is the center of Delaware's legislative district, making The Cobblestone Cafe a favorite spot for office workers of all types. This is a simple cafe in a somewhat rundown building. There are enough 200+ year old buildings nearby that you will recognize the warped floorboards and chipped woodwork as age rather than neglect. Still, as a one woman operation I'm sure the owner wishes she had more time to care for her cafe's physical needs. My friend and I ordered coffees and sandwiches. I had the gyro and she had a tuna melt. Both sandwiches were made to order on a tiny grill behind the counter. They were simple but good enough, particularly for the price we paid. This is one of the few places in town that even offers a gyro. The cafe closes in the afternoon. The entire town shuts once the offices are closed, so plan accordingly. The atmosphere was cozy and sweet. Just a few tables, a wall of books, and a kitchen counter manned by the owner. Free parking is a short walk away.

Yelp
Had lunch there with a friend. We each had the Turkish Coffee which was so good and a sandwich. The ladies were super friendly and the food was fresh. Wish it was nicer to sit outside as it's tight seating indoors. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Jake B.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast and lunch options ! The two ladies that are usually working are the kindest people in the entire service industry (i am convinced). Although the space is small, it's very cozy. on a nice day they have seating outside as well!

D M.

Yelp
Very simple yet great sandwiches. Awesome Arnold Palmer! Great location for a quick nosh. Friendly family staff!
google avatar

Theresa S.

Yelp
A sweet cafe with just the nicest women working there - friendly and kind, super helpful to out-of-towners. We loved how homey it was and the breakfast egg, onion, and potatoes were delicious (my SO added a bit of ham to it). If you happen to be in Dover, you can't go wrong by dropping in for coffee and a bite.
google avatar

ChiChi A.

Yelp
Service was great and I really love how this restaurant only serves turkey bacon. It was a nice Iranian woman who greeted me with hospitality and good food. Definitely try this place if you want a good home cooked sandwich.

Yelp
Service is pretty good lately. Really nice staff. Food is Quite good. Feels super homey.

Yelp
This is a small cafe that is in the downtown area of Dover. It isn't a large place, but it is cozy and well run by one person. She offered a select menu, but there was options for breakfast and lunch. I came here with coworkers after a work test at a potential customer. One had the egg salad, one went with breakfast, and I had the grilled ham and cheese with tomato soup. There are PLENTY of drink options here, which was awesome. Rarely do I get to see diet snapple in a smaller individually owned cafe so I was very excited and took one for the meal, and one to go. The food was good, she is a one woman operation so I was impressed by her ability to get stuff going relatively quickly. My sandwich was homemade, tasty, and I put that down quickly. The soup was Campbells, not knocking her for that since I do enjoy their tomato soup. The portion of the soup was HUGE! I was happy with that. If you want to support an individually owned business, this is the place to go for breakfast. Plenty of public parking for free around the town square for up to two hours- and I would say that there is limited seating (3 tables max) for if you want to eat in. This is perfect if you want a quick take out and call ahead! I will be back when I am in town next. I love to support locally small owned businesses and I hope this one makes it through COVID.

Yelp
Very small but DELIGHTFUL. Everything is basically homemade, from the baklava to the muffins to the falafel, and the BLT (turkey bacon of course) was delicious. Iced coffee was what the day called for, not too strong (they have Turkish coffee for that!) but very smooth and not overly-flavored. Outdoor seating (with umbrellas!) right off the historic square was available but I chose to sit in the cooler air conditioned interior. 10/10 will bring my spouse for a date!

Joan E.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the people were kind and friendly, and the service was excellent. I will definitely tell my friends about the lovely Cobblestone Cafe. I will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
The best Rueben sandwich and yelp wants me to keep putting words in review but this is all I have to say

K G.

Yelp
Great location and friendly service! Quick and tasty lunch options. Highly recommend if you are in Dover!
google avatar

Slappy P.

Yelp
Wonderful little cafe with good coffee, cheap delicious food, and wonderful Turkish coffee (like sweet espresso). The staff and owner couldn't be nicer. Don't miss it!
google avatar

Catherine L.

Yelp
Best GYRO I've had in my life! I felt like my mom was cooking for me. Delicious food and incredible service from a sweet woman behind the counter working so hard. Also had a latte and baklava that was out of this world. Don't pass on this quaint cafe that feels like your at home! We'll be returning every time we're in Dover!
google avatar

Yelp
A sweet, cozy little cafe, right by The Green. Service was great, food is very inexpensive and delicious. I loved it!

Jacob R.

Yelp
Great place to eat, cozy environment and the owner is more than nice. The food was done pretty quickly too and all of it was very good especially the matcha late. I got a chicken gyro, home fries and a matcha late which had lavender in it too, all of which was fantastic. Overall great place to relax and have a good meal, I will be coming back.

Urma K.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Cute cafe with efficient service; the staff was attentive and the food was delicious! Good value!

Amira H.

Yelp

google avatar

Destiny M.

Yelp
I love going here, Shaima is so nice and the food is homemade, coffee is so good too. If you want homemade food ,good coffee , and a nice person making the food, then this is the place to go.

Czerny R.

Yelp
Shima (the owner and chef) is wonderful and accommodating. We ordered the gyro, breakfast burrito, tuna melt, and grilled cheese and they were all delicious. There's a small portion of the cafe to sit down where Shima brings your food to you. Will definitely come back for both the drinks (vanilla iced coffee and homemade iced tea) and the food whenever we come back to Dover!

Yelp
Quint little cafe. Employees very friendly. Price very reasonable. The food was good. I had the pancakes and wife had the breakfast sandwich. Very enjoyable experience. I would certianly recommend for anyone visiting the area
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
I needed something to eat and a place to wait. This was a short walk and perfect on both accounts. With many books on a shelf within reach, I enjoyed a mixed omelet brunch that hit the spot. This little cafe on lawyers row is a step into the past with doilies on each table and shelves filled with nicknacks. The owner is a reader and very pleasant.

Rachel W.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our experience. The prices were great and so was the food! The ladies here were very sweet and if we lived anywhere near here we would frequent this establishment all of the time.

Yelp
A Hidden Treasure! Hidden a little bit off the beaten path in downtown Dover (a few blocks from the main commercial area on lookerman st) is Cobblestone Cafe. Located right off the south end of the Green in the Historic district of old Dover, there are sadly a lot of locals that don't even know about this spot, which is a shame cuz it's an extremely cute, charming little shop that offers a really nice selection of specialty menu items and general convenience store stuff. The lady that works there Shaima is so nice - She's like the Middle Eastern mom or gengi you never had - (unless you're mom or gengi is middle eastern of course). Falafels and Gyros are gonna be your best bets as these are her recipes from the old country and are the most authentic and delicious. Just such a cozy, quiet little place to get away from the world for a few minutes and read a book or get a little Work done. I saw someone else say it was too dark in there. I've never seen it very dark but it's a little darker than average, which I frankly love and it feels like it'd few being in a coffee place in historic Dover when it was actually historic so I kinda think that that makes it feel more authentic. It's a very old building that I imagine is at least a couple hundred years old after all. I've lived in Dover for a long time and didn't even know about it myself for a while and am kinda conflicted whether to talk about it or not here cuz I like that it's so private and cozy already but Shaima is just the sweetest lady you'll ever meet so I think she deserves to have more people know about the cobblestone cafe.

Dr. H.

Yelp
Delightful little place. Simple food, at an extremely reasonable price. The prices are actually too low. Eating indoors or outdoors.

Jim F.

Yelp
We happened upon this unique little cafe when we went to Dover, DE. It is a block from the Green surrounded by historic buildings in old Dover. The two ladies cooking and serving were delightful and the burrito and quesadilla were great. We had Turkish coffee for the first time and we loved it.

BigDaddy W.

Yelp
What a dump. Do not waste your time or money here! This place is a filthy, dingy, dump. The cheap prices do not make it worth your while. They do not have a commercial kitchen. They have a crappy residential electric griddle and a microwave and that is how they cook. I honestly cannot comprehend how they have so many good reviews. They falafel was burned and the reheated in microwave -TERRIBLE!! The coffee is less than pathetic. I wanted so badly to like this place, but sadly I will never be back.
google avatar

Scout L.

Yelp
A cozy small cafe run by a lovely woman. She runs the place by herself but makes the food fast! Prices are really good and food is yummy and simple. Feels like you're getting a real home cooked meal. I was passing through town and almost went to a Starbucks, but came here instead and I am so happy I did. I'll definitely come back!

Dana L.

Yelp
We were stopping through Dover and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. The owner/chef of the place is a lovely woman who was very welcoming. Everyone in our family enjoyed the meal including our picky children. Everything was fresh and tasty. There are a few tables inside to eat and the food was ready right away. I never write reviews but wanted to recommend this place as I was impressed but the kindness of this woman and the homey atmosphere it was a perfect quick stop on our long drive.
google avatar

Sheena D.

Yelp
This cafe is a perfect, no-frills, just-like-mama-makes-it cafe with the friendliest people!
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
All the selection you'd expect for lunch and breakfast, good coffee, and pretty low prices. It's cash only as someone else said, but i prefer this woman to wawa any day of the week.

Marcanthony S.

Yelp
I loved my experience here! She was friendly the entire time and it had a homey feel. The food was amazing (I had the beef gyro) and it was very reasonably priced. Definitely should check it out :)

Yulissa C.

Yelp
Very cute cafe in old town Dover. Perfect for a coffee date/ brunch. Better for smaller groups. Owner is very sweet, most food is home made including the falafel!
google avatar

Alisha G.

Yelp
This place has a lot of potential. It's quaint and has the makings of the perfect little "lunch stop spot around the corner" if it was fixed up a little. All of the blinds were drawn inside and had big blankets covering the windows too so it was super dark inside. That made it seem rather uncomfortable and musty. There were bookshelves filled with books and magazines which I assume was to encourage people to come have a sandwich and enjoy a book. Although it was hardly bright enough to read. The food was mediocre but overpriced. I would come back for the style of the place and the very friendly owner (she was so pleasant to chat with!) if the place was lighter inside and a bit more organized.
google avatar

Roger L.

Yelp
Had breakfast this morning. Menu limited to breakfast sandwiches. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Very small location and ventilation is not great. Swatting flys was part of the experience. As ohers have said, the lady preparing your meal is very nice!

Mary R.

Yelp
Stopped on our way to a tournament in Delaware. Very cute cafe with super sweet owner.
google avatar

Greg S.

Yelp
Small but nice. Fast friendly service. The price is right. The menu is limited but you can not ask for a nicer person to take your order and prepare your lunch.
google avatar

Destiny M.

Yelp
I love going to this place Shaima is so nice good food n great coffee too. Very cute place
google avatar

Rachelle T.

Yelp
Chicken Salad is AMAZING! especially w/ the sweet peppers. Service is always fast and friendly. I normally order the breakfast sandwiches, so glad I went in for lunch today!
google avatar

Radford G.

Yelp
Love this place....lady is very friendly. Great place, great price! I like the old Dover feel!

Becca S.

Yelp
I'm always looking for new places to try for breakfast so hubby and I stopped in about half an hour after they opened one morning. It was FREEZING inside and there was no coffee ready. It's cluttered and dark and not super clean. We both got bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches and they were okay, nothing special. Similar to what I would make at home but the prices were great and the woman who was working there was nice. We won't be going back.
