This a great spot, more of an experience than dinner. We have been here a few times and have really enjoyed it every time. The atmosphere is very nice, they have a full bar and solid specialty cocktails. The theme is not subtle but well done. The servers make you feel welcome and pay attention to the details. The food is an experience both because it is high quality and you get to cook it at your table. We will be back

The club is cool and the service was good. Did not try the food. For $60 an hour, I expected much better from karaoke. System was just an iPad and felt cheap. Was not impressed with the selection as it was just mainstream popular songs. Karaoke sound system was awful. Sound was scratchy and sounded terrible. Even after the staff came in to fix it, still continued to act up. Eventually it got better but still sounded staticky the whole time. Mic kept cutting out during songs Microphone was way too quiet and no way to adjust volume or any settings (volume, echo, ect) No way to adjust sound settings for the music. Did not stay the whole time and left after about 40 minutes Go to any tiny random bar in Japan and their Karaoke will be 50 times better for free.

First time at Cobra, but I have had Korean BBQ more than a handful of times. My wife and I ordered the Omakase 2 and some appetizers. The quality of meat was good, and the facility was clean. It wasn't very busy, but it seemed like they were rushing us through the courses. It was also a little pricey. Not terrible, but I'm not sure if I will come back.

I could not have loved this place more! The food was absolutely incredible. Both the prepared foods and the food for cooking at your table were exceptional quality with fantastic presentation that really elevated the flavor profiles. The tables were beautiful and secluded with privacy to hear yourself talk and enjoy your meal peacefully. I came to celebrate surviving the first week of law school and I know with absolute certainty that I will be back many more times for celebrations and mundane days alike. Additionally I would love to thank the wonderful employees who were so attentive and helpful!

Google
Cobra is an absolute gem! The ambiance perfectly blends a chic, club-like vibe with a cozy dining experience. We indulged in the Cobra Omakase II (see photo), and every bite was bursting with incredible flavors. The interactive experience of cooking our own food at the table added a fun and unique touch to the evening. For the appetizer, we had the special of the night: braised short rib dumplings in a coconut curry sauce, and they were simply divine. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an exceptional dining adventure!

Google
This was amazing. The food was high quality and delicious, the atmosphere is very cool and it was so much fun to create the different combinations of food together on the grill. It is expensive but it is also a good deal of food. It's definitely worth stopping by and we look forward to renting a karaoke room sometime.

We enjoyed everything about our dinner experience once we got rolling. The only thing we’d change is we sat for a while. We were waiting for someone else to arrive, however we wanted to order an appetizer and had questions and had to go find someone to take our appetizer order. We sat for a while without any attention. After that, we continued to sit with no one checking in until our appetizer came. Once the appetizer came, we place our order, and then we had 3 people waiting on our table. I’m not sure why the first 20 minutes was so awkward. The food was delicious! Love the Korean corn and the bok choy! The meat was incredible and the ambience was nice. We enjoyed our dinner! Also, thank you for the birthday dessert!! We tipped well because we thoroughly enjoyed our time once it got started.

Google
The food was pretty good even tho they didn't have to many options on sides, the meat was great I think my favorite part of the restaurant.. the service wasn't so great I think the server only came back once to see of we needed anything.. the atmosphere was good, really dark but other wise it was a vibe..

Yelp
We loved Cobra! Looking forward to going back one of these days. I love the vibe there. It's very dark, which is perfect for me. It got a bit loud after a while, but the atmosphere is great. I'm a big fan of places where you can cook your own meat & seafood. It's always perfectly cooked and warm. While the meat was amazing, my favorite part of the meal was the shrimp. The service was friendly and excellent. Our waitress explained all the options very well, since most of us had never been there. I recommend going with a pretty big group. Then, you can try everything. The all you can eat menu is a great option too. It's only available a couple nights a week, so check the website.

Yelp
Good place to dine for special occasion! I absolutely loved the matcha tres leches cakes, it was so delicious so if you go, make sure you try this one! Fried chicken wings also good! Can't go wrong with whatever meat you get. Service was pretty decent, nothing out of this world but it wasn't bad. Not sure about returning necessarily but it was a good experience.

Yelp
We had a great dinner with friends on Saturday celebrating Valentine's Day. We sat at a grill table and had reservations. We ordered the rangoon and wings as appetizers. I really loved both! My husband and I orders for dinner shrimp, bulgogi, and asparagus. My favorite by far was the shrimp. I also love the sauce, rice, and additional items they bring to the table for the grill. I left totally full but not stuffed...which is always wonderful! We would love to go back and sit at a normal table and get some of the different dinner options.

Yelp
The food was excellent quality i was genuinely impressed! Before going i didn't think it would be worth it, but the quality of meats they have make it 100% worth your time and money! The drinks were also fantastic - highly recommend the Suki if you like something sweet. Waiter was great and he explained everything well since it was our first time. Vibes were perfect for a group dinner - there was 6 of us and it was a great time!

Yelp
The BEST spot for a celebration. I highly recommend booking a karaoke room! It's so easy to book online, definitely book ahead of time as these rooms are popular on the weekends! We had our own server that delivered drinks to the karaoke room, and it was awesome that we didn't have to leave the room to get drinks at the bar. The fun never takes a break while you're here! I cannot wait to spend another night celebrating here and try their food! Everything looked and smelled amazing, and food can be ordered in the karaoke rooms as well!

Yelp
We checked out All You Care to Eat at Cobra yesterday evening - something that they have for $48 every Wednesday! We made a reservation a while ago but there were plenty of tables open when we went. How it works is that everyone at the table must do the AYCTE option. Everyone receives 4 oz of each beef cut (butcher's cut chuck-eye yesterday) and marinade cut (miso shrimp and pork shoulder galbi yesterday) to start with and after finishing the first round and all your meat is cooked, you can order another round of one item each. You can continue to reorder more rounds after you finished the previous round until your 90 minutes is up. The four of us were able to finish the initial round of beef, pork shoulder, and shrimp and order three more rounds of one of the previous items in our time slot! I was a little afraid that the food was not going to be good since it's meant to be an Asian establishment owned by white people. The meat was tasty and so were the mushrooms and banchan. I do wish there was more variety in meat. I think it's a little pricey for the small portions and time limit but worth a try since it's fun. Drinks were pricey but good. The ambiance is very clubby and dark with no windows. They were blasting Ariana Grande the whole time. If your vibe is not dark, loud, and clubby, you may not like Cobra. I'm not sure I would go back anytime soon since there's supposed to be KBBQ places opening up in Pittsburgh that are more authentic but I am glad that I tried it.

Yelp
Overall we had a very nice experience. The fries were perfectly cooked and I loved the sesame mayo served with it. We opted for the Omakase that came with waygu beef ! It also came with a marinated beef (not pictured) that was not enjoyable. It was extremely tough to chew. Our server was attentive and checked on us quite often. The restaurant itself is very dark and the music is louder than I would have liked.

Yelp
The Good: Excellent flavors. We did miso shrimp and Galbi beef for our grill and both were excellent. We split the scallop special for the night that was one of the best presentations of scallops I've ever had. Korean cheese corn was divine. We shared the bread pudding and absolutely everything was excellent. The Less Good: Service was....lacking. We ordered the corn...can we please have something besides chopsticks to eat it with? Had to wave her down for everything. She only checked back once on her own accord during our 2 hour dinner. Two warm bottles of water on the table when we arrived that were neither refilled (see below and notes on how hot it was) nor was there any ice available. We had to flag down the server for refills of drinks (ice tea) they were not proactively offered. It was HOT around the tables. I know...you grill on the table but the AC needed to crank if that's the case and it simply didn't. It made for an uncomfortable seating situation. Not quite sweaty, but very close.

Yelp
This was my second time at cobra! We got the all you can eat. It is a little more expensive that other all you can eat kbbq but it all tasted really good. I do wish there were a little more meat options and sides. Service was good and ambiance is pretty dark inside. I thought it is interesting they have gender neutral bathrooms but it is not a single stall.

Yelp
The best double date spot! The ambiance feels so private, they have great bar options including nonalcoholic drinks and it's just a fun spot to be able to try something different in Pittsburgh! We did the BBQ and each picked what we wanted since 3 out of 4 people really wanted the short rib! There was plenty of food and we ordered fries to snack on as we cooked and they were a fantastic addition. Absolutely loved dinner as an experience!

Yelp
This is by far the worst place my boyfriend and I have ever been to. We are both from Maryland which has an abundance of asian inspired BBQ. My boyfriend and I are both servers at a KBBQ place so we understand how the kitchen works especially in a place like this. We went to celebrate our anniversary together and I made a reservation at 9:30pm (the place closes at 11:00pm). When we walked inside, there were servers and hosts chatting ignoring us and as we went further into the restaurant chairs were already stacked?? Again, I understood that because I too work in the industry. Last call was at 10:00pm which was wild in my opinion since your last seating is at 9:30pm, only giving the table 30 minutes to order everything. We also cooked everything ourselves. The server didn't touch the grill once. Which was fine but what about those who have absolutely no experience? Our server was rude and rushed. He only came to our table once and it took over 30 mins to get a fountain drink refill. The food was honestly horrible. It was old and dull with essentially no flavor whats so ever and you could tell the Ban chan had been sitting in its container for an incredibly long time. We paid around $200 for this dinner. The quality of the meats did not live up to the price. All in all, we walked out disappointed, hungry, and upset.

Yelp
Our food was great, we loved the experience of cooking on a bbq grill and the atmosphere was AMAZING but our service was subpar at best. Our server didn't check in on us and left a sour taste in our mouths. When we flagged her down to ask for additional banchan (since there were 5 of us at the table and only enough to make a few wraps at most) we only received additional lettuce, nothing else. That's only where the issues started.... The prices we received on our check were not reflective of what we were told & ultimately, our server was uneducated on the menu and pricing. I understand the reasoning behind an automatic gratuity, but it definitely wasn't earned in this case. Overall, I believe if we had a different server, we would've had a much better experience.

Yelp
I went for my birthday and will definitely be going back! The group of us got bbq and it comes with two courses. We also got drinks and oysters. Amazing! Service was great! Our server was quick, attentive, and helpful. Love the ambiance. Cozy, modern, and fun!

Yelp
Whether you're at cobra for the bar, the BBQ, or the karaoke you're in for a treat. One of my favorite spots in the city for everything above. Amazing food & service and one of the coolest vibes. If you haven't been I suggest you run, don't walk! You won't regret it!

Yelp
I like the concept of the place. Night club vibes but yakiniku restaurant. Service is super nice, and they've gotten a lot better with timing since opening. I used to have to wait for a table despite a reservation and wait a while for the food, but not so for the more recent times I've been. I'm only giving it 3 stars because I think it is way too overpriced. I keep going back because I crave yakiniku and there aren't other places around. But the portions are insanely small, leaving even me who doesn't really eat feeling hungry after a meal. I literally rely on the [Japchae] for filling my stomach. That's the only appetizer/ side dish I'd recommend. The others are too small and too expensive for what it's worth. Dessert is pretty good though. I think for the same price elsewhere you'd get a lot better yakiniku experience with better meat and portion sizes. The vibes and price for upscale yakiniku but the food isn't there yet.

Yelp
Was entertained! Get ready to cook and spend some serious dough here for Korean BBQ. ‍ We originally had reservations to another place but, it was too small to accommodate our large party of 8. We called Cobra after we saw postings of cool places in our area to check out in a foodie group. We got to Cobra for our reservations and had a slight wait. We parked on the street. *Decor Was very inviting, cool, dark and hip. Bar was located in the front and we hear they also have Karaoke rooms. *Bathrooms One guest noticed the Gender friendly bathrooms after making a quick stop in while we waited and freaked out when the teen girl of the group went to use the bathroom by herself. Not knowing what the fuss was about, I went to check it out and noticed the bathrooms located down a long pink hallway. Upon entering, there is no lock on the main bathroom door but latch locks on the 2 stalls inside. The issue he had was that there was an open urinal next to the stalls across from the sink. Please add a lock on the main door of the bathroom and/or a stall for the urinal. I do not want to see a man using the urinal when I come in or while I'm washing my hands. Things like that can get a little complicated I would imagine especially after drinks. *Seating For our reservation, we thought we would be sitting all together only to find out we were reserved for 2 different booths. They were right next to one another so we worked it out and were happy they accommodated our large party. Menu The menu is a little tricky but know if one selects a Korean bbq option, everyone else wanting Korean BBQ to be cooked by guests table side will all have to get the same thing. My guests chose the one with Wagu of course for $70+. Chicken wings were fire though and the highlight of the menu. One guest got 2 different meals since she did not eat beef. Serving size of both meals totaled one complete dinner. Drinks Oh and the drinks. They have really, really neat drinks. The one with the Cotton Candy drink for 13.00 was the hit for our party. Only issue is that the cotton candy costs $5.00 on top of the drink cost. One of my guests kept ordering the drinks for the Cotton Candy only to be told by a member of the party of the fee. *Check When we asked to slit the checks by guests, she told us we could only split the checks 2 ways. One check was for $474.98 with the automatic 20% gratuity and the other was for $ 421.54 with another 20% gratuity. We have had Korean BBQ in other states but pricing Fathers Day experience was cool and different.

Yelp
For $270, for two people, we got about ten ounces of meat, two mid alcoholic beverages, mushrooms we didn't like, an okay but not good appetizer, mood inappropriate music, and an inattentive service who didn't seem to want to deal with us, couldn't remember to bring a fork, disappeared for long stretches. If I wanted that type of dining experience I could have spent $60 and went to TGI Fridays. Gyu Kaku in Philly is a similar type of dining expeirence that is lower cost, higher quality, more attentive servers, more appropriate music, and better value. If you want the experience of this type of dining, take the road trip to Philly versus spending your money here. Edit: The manager reached out a week ago to say this. Unfortunately, the GM then never responded back after their initial email. So, yea, I guess their average experience isn't all that concerning to them. (Sent 2/21/24)9 Hi Steve, I am equally disappointed with your experience here at COBRA as you are. It is simply not what you should expect from us. Given you took time out of your day to provide feedback, it gives me hope there is a chance to win you back and make this right. Steve, it's important to me that you know that hospitality and making my guests happy is what keeps me going, and I do not take negative feedback lightly. Please allow me some time to regroup with my team to further look into your experience. Thank you for sharing with us, Collin McNamee, General Manager

Yelp
I've never heard of Cobra until a friend invited to take me for my birthday last week. It's tucked away on a small street in Bloomfield, I want to say parking seems a barrier but we used uber. I like the dim lighting and the seating in booths are very roomy, kind space between other tables and feels more private. I'd compare this to the style of cooking at the table similar to korean bbq but a little different (prefer korean bbq and larger portions of meat). We had the bulgogi, prawn (comes with 3) and the tokujo tongue with sides of mushrooms and asparagus. We also had the caviar for appetizer. Additionally had two cocktails. We did order the wagyu but they never gave it to us, guess they forgot but we didn't mention again. My opinion for our visit is that: the servers and all of the staff were so lovely, attentive, kind and helpful. The service was excellent and it was a nice atmosphere. Now the food: I did not like the prawn it had too much flavoring and maybe sour to me, hard to explain but it was odd. The caviar came with all of the toppings to try and small pancake things - it was my first time having it and seemed like jelly but nothing special. The tongue only my friend had but he seemed to like it. The bulgogi and asparagus were the only things I liked aside from the cotton candy cocktail. Bulgogi is delicious but not enough of it due to not much else I enjoyed. The mushrooms weren't the best to me but ok. The waiter gave me a shot of sake for my birthday. I give 4 stars due to awesome service and wonderful night despite not having the best food experience. I do love the presentation however. I hope to try the karaoke rooms one day.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food and services, but I found the sauce options a bit dull. I would have liked something with more ginger and garlic in it versus what felt like a plainer soy sauce. Has great potential.

Yelp
Enjoyed my dinner and drinks here with my friend. I did one of the marinated beefs (Galbi) as my entree. We also ordered several apps the fries and shishtos. I also enjoyed the beginning accompaniments too

Yelp
Showed up on time for our reservation. Was told to go to the bar area and a server would seat us. Bartender asked us if we had reservations for dinning. We said yes. Then we stood in the bar area for the next 15 minutes as the bar staff basically plowed through us moving tables and chairs. It wasn't until I walked into the dinning area and stood in the entrance way that someone was forced to help us. Finally seated. Looked around and to my surprise the dining area was damn near empty. Food was mediocre and the most the tables were dirty. This is the second time I've been here. First time was for a show. This night was for a show too but with dining before hand. Spent about 500 bucks for 3 of us and I felt ignored and robbed. Won't be back. Will find a better place for dinning and entertainment.

Yelp
Their food is amazing! My server was amazing! Ambience off the hook. The only issue is that I had left my ID there, went back an Hour or so later during their club hours. The pretty, short host with dark long hair and pretty brown eyes was kind of a jerk, turning me away because of the ID and not letting me explain that I had left it there even tho she admitted to recognizing me. Disregarding the host issue, I'd recommend this place.

Yelp
Love this restaurant! This was a very good experience. A great restaurant for Valentine's day with my man. We were seated immediately. The waitress was really nice and explained the menu to is, answered all of our questions and gave us recommendations. We ordered: Oysters--PHENOMENAL. BBQ--Fantastic. Fries--SOO GOOD. The sauce was great too! Dessert--Great experience. Not a fan of shaved ice but was still enjoyable! The food was fresh and delicious. Very good quality Staff were so friendly and quick. Parking wasn't too bad in a Sunday. Ambiance was romantic. Great experience.

Yelp
I went to Cobra for the first time a few weekends ago. There was a group of ten of us and we went for karaoke and then we had a dinner reservation afterwards. When I first got there, I started off by getting a drink at the bar. The bar is beautiful. I forgot the name of my drink but it was a tequila based cocktail. It was very good! Once our room was ready for karaoke, we were able to go in. The room was a bit tight for ten people. I'd recommend between 5-7 people for maximum comfort. It also got really warm in the room with no fans or AC blowing. When we asked our waitress about it, she seemed to have known this was an issued. The karaoke itself was fun though! We had a one hour reservation for karaoke so after that, we waited in the lounge for our tables to be ready for dinner. Since our wait took longer than expected, they comped us a round of sake, which was very nice! This was my first time at a Japanese BBQ Resturant and it did not disappoint. Our waiter was super friendly and he explained everything with great detail! I ordered an app of shishito peppers for the table. For my entree, I ordered the filet and a side of fries. The shishito peppers were so good- so good in fact that I tried to recreate them at home a few days ago! The meat is served slice and raw for you to cook on the cooktop in the middle of the table. It also came with sea salt and soy sauce. They also served sides to accompany the meats- daikon radish, kimchi, cucumbers, mushrooms, and bean sprouts. Lastly, the fries were delicious. They were seasoned with furikake seasoning and served with a soy aioli. I thought everything was great!! I would definitely come back here for dinner. One more thing I wanted to note is that the ambiance is perfect for a date night. Low lights, etc. Ps- I probably would only do karaoke with a smaller group.

Really cool place. Different setting than most. Highly recommend. Cooking your food at the table was fun for the whole family. Great variety of unique food dishes. Book ahead they get busy quickly. Glad we made the stop while In Pittsburgh .

Yelp
Where do I start? I suppose a preface. Being born and raised around the NYC/Manhattan area these type of restaurants/clubs are commonplace. So seeing this as a recommendation from Yelp! and seeing numerous positive social media reviews i figured i'd have to give it a try. Please take note that currently they are on a very limited menu and that Thursday Nights are their "Burger Special" nights. The reason this review got a "Meh" 3 Star review instead of a 2 was because of said "Burger Special" pricing. $20 total for their Cobra Wagyu Burger, Furikake Fries, & can of Sapporo Pure beer (normally priced $26... so the beer is free... and kaboom there is the extra half star to this review). Now that that's out of the way let's dig deeper here! First and foremost we need to get to the staff. The hostess greeted us promptly and sat us at our "Reserved" table (that can be easily attained through their Instagram page). Why they recommend reservations on a Thursday Night is a little beyond me as we were the only other couple in the lounge & bar table/seating area. But again sat promptly. Our server was apparently busy so our drink & food order was taken delayed and by a separate gentleman. Fine by me but again there was no one there and it was seen numerous times that group work conversations were a little more important than anyone dining there. Didn't knock a star off for this as i'm happy they were staffed and open for seated business. Now lets get to the food. Just. Wow? 4.5 stars with over 100+ reviews as of 1.11.23? That's wild to me. Again this review is based on their bar/lounge table seating & limited menu and has nothing to do with their entertainment options or Korean BBQ seating/menu. But i honestly have to give this venue the Webster's definition of "Bland". Sure it reads fancy on the menu and the pricing reflects that as well... but in my honest seasoned opinion it falls flat fast. Wagyu Burger. Those that know the delicacy of Wagyu know that nothing "Extra" is really needed. Well this burger is not only given "Smashed" but the cheese alone fights with the delicate flavor. I will say that the bun is absolutely amazing and ultra savory. They could have just made a grilled cheese with that and i'd add another star here. But the complexity gets totally lost and the description just adds to the price tag. Furikake Fries were undercooked. Seasoned OK and the lack of salt was actually appreciated. But if ordered separately at $7 there is no reason for it. Cobra Aioli was a highlight being tasty but condiments shouldn't be the highlight here. Sapporo Beer is like any other 4% "Light" beer out there but appreciated being "Free". The second downfall to the food was the other dishes that were ordered. We requested the Cucumber Salad as an appetizer and Japache as second entree. I suppose i'd like to add a positive here as the presentation of EVERYTHING was AMAZING... but that shouldn't justify the pricing. The Cucumber Salad was again... bland. It's a cucumber spiral cut with a VERY bland sauce. I drank the sauce alone to try to get a real taste but was pretty disappointed. At $10 i wouldn't order again. The Japache was basically the same. Excellent presentation but nothing that gave it a distinct "I need to come back here for this" taste (this was honestly my review in a nutshell for all dishes served). Again real shame as the art to the food was simply fantastic but the lack of real flavor was disappointing. I'll tread lightly on the next topic as it's fairly new. But there are gender neutral bathrooms here with no other option. I'm 110% OK with that. But 1 bathroom has a SPECIFIC sign stating that it's gender neutral AND has a urinal in it (the other does not as observed). As using said urinal a woman came out from one of the door'd stalls and stared at me (good 10+ seconds). How do I know this? The materials used on the bathroom walls are EXTREMELY reflective and one can see behind themselves (and every other angle when standing up). Not knocking a star for this but just a forewarning for those that utilize that first bathroom. In closing this restaurant is indeed hip and has extreme entertainment value notes. Karaoke booths were packed and lots of singing was heard through closed doors. Dance Floor looks like with a live DJ could be a ton of fun. Korean BBQ tables live and from socials look like a no brainer if you'd like to entertain on a NYC level. TL;DR Cobra indeed does have a "Big City Vibe" class/ring to it. I'd come again for entertainment purposes. So karaoke, dancing/night life, and/or Korean BBQ. Outside of that bubble though it's an easy pass. Lots of hype around the socials that isn't really backed up.

Yelp
Is the food and atmosphere good? Yes! I had waygu fried rice and it was okay. It's not the best Korean BBQ I've been to but it's probably the best in the Burgh. My first experience with Korean BBQ was in Texas and my second was in New Orleans. I like the venue and the food. I've been a few times and I can't complain. It's just missing something that I have yet to figure out.

Yelp
One of the best dining experience in Pittsburgh. This Omakase style Korean BBQ restaurant serves some of the best cuts of Waygu money can by. All cooked right in front of you on your tabletop grill. The vibe is like something out of Los Angeles, Dark with lots of neon. They are always playing amazing music and the cocktail and Sake selection pair perfect with the Omakase. Make sure to put this one at the top of your list.

Yelp
Really good and authentic Korean BBQ. A bit pricey, but worth it if you want the real deal that's high quality.

Yelp
I should preface this review with the fact that I really don't like doing karaoke... until now, thanks to Cobra! Cobra has the best and most diverse catalogue of songs I have ever seen. Literally everything you can think of is on their iPads and this aspect alone makes it so much fun because there is practically something for everyone. Also, the service is amazing! Our server, Shawn, was attentive and fun. The drinks were delicious - I didn't order any food so I can't speak to that. The price for one hour is $50 which is great considering how many people you can put in one room. We had eight and were comfortable. I had an amazing experience with friends and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Great for groups!!! Highly recommend for group dinners!! Reservations highly encouraged! We try to do a grill table and have done the Cobra Omakase 1 twice now! Everyone at the table must participate but it's so very worth it!! It's $54 per person and very filling They give everyone tongs and a chunk of Wagyu fat to grease up your individual table grill! The meat is all cooked by you and it's about 30 seconds or so per side! Veggies are around 5 min! Everyone gets a side of rice as well as water carafes at the table! This is such a fun experience and great quality meat!

I can only define my existence into two chapters now: My life pre-Cobra My life post-Cobra

Yelp
Came here with friends the other night and while it looks odd from the outside, the inside is dark and moody - cool vibe to go with the food. I was in a group of four and we all agreed on the Omakase II, Japchae and a veg. There was a ton of food and all of it was delicious! We didn't need the sides in addition to the Omakase, but we wanted to try a few more things. The meat was great quality and everything tasted delicious. Our service was fantastic. She was informative without being too much, gave great recommendations and demoed how to cook the food on the grille for the best result. It's expensive, but a fun experience especially with a small group of foodies! I will definitely be back... hopefully next time we'll add karaoke to our experience!

Yelp
We made reservations well in advance for this place, with the grill table. It's very dark and night-club feeling, so perfect for a date! Haha our server was very attentive. We ordered the cobra omakase 2. We wanted to try the wagyu and this was the best sampler option to get that meat. You can tell the meat itself is extremely high quality, not just the wagyu either, but everything else too. The meat didn't even need anything, you could also sprinkle a little salt or dip it if you wanted. The meal came with an SSAM pack too, which were a bunch of little side dishes like kimchi, pickled veggies, etc. I can say that I was pretty disappointed in everything except the meat. Their sides and other dishes should have been fantastic, as that's the only thing they're actually cooking for us. The kimchi severely lacked flavor. We cook the meat ourselves at the table. Because of this fact, the price was really what would prevent us from coming back here. It is like a Japanese Melting Pot. I'd rather go buy these high quality meats on our own in the strip district and go home then. You're truly paying for the experience and high quality ingredients, so I understand the appeal but we won't be repeat customers.

Yelp
This is a really cool place! The space is kind of divided into 3 sections- a bar, BBQ table room, and a lounge. We went on a Saturday night for dinner so we sat at one of the BBQ tables, which was really cool. We ordered the cheesy rice cakes appetizer, which was delicious. Highly recommend. We also had the set menu that's priced per person with a variety of cuts of beef. It comes out raw and you cook it yourself with the BBQ grill on the table. It also comes with all of the accoutrements- kimchi, lettuce wraps, sauces, toppings (cucumbers, bean sprouts, pickled veggies, etc.). It was a lot of food. Well worth the price. The cocktails were also delicious. We had the Memory and Tranquility, which were made with green tea and lemongrass infused spirits- very good! Prior to COVID I'm sure there was more of night scene with dancing and drinking as it looks to be setup for that, but it was table service only when I was there. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because of the service. We waited at the door for probably 10 minutes because no one was at the host booth. By the time someone showed up there were probably 4 parties (10+ people) in line. It was definitely odd considering it was 7:30 on a Saturday night. We also had reservation and the automated text system told us to check in, but no one was there. Our dinner service was also a bit slow. I was never able to order the 2nd drink I wanted because the server did not come back before we were finished. All in all, a great experience and I definitely plan to be back. Servi

Yelp
SO much fun to go with a group and try the BBQ tables! We went with two other couples and had a great time with the Omakase I menu, which provided us with copious amounts of meat, banchan, and rice. It was so leisurely and enjoyable, and everything was delicious! We didn't get the chance to try karaoke but next time we absolutely will incorporate that into the evening.

Yelp
Cobra was SO FUN!! We reserved a room for my birthday and I can say this was the most fun we all had in a long time! The reservation was easy to make online and staff was very nice the entire evening. The room fits 10 people (I would say 8 comfortably). They bring you drinks as needed and there are tons of songs to pick from. It was very reasonable for $50 an hour. We sang for 2 hours and we didn't want the night to end! I can say the room was super hot so dress in cool clothing. The drinks were delicious but very expensive. I heard the food is tasty so one day we will have to go back and try it out. I would definitely return for karaoke again!!!

Yelp
I've been for my birthday, I've been for a date, it's a treat every time. The service is great, the food is so good I won't even do it justice typing it in here.

Yelp
-nightlife/high end restaurant/club atmosphere -the quality of meat was rich and savory making it very filling. Especially the wagyu -the BBQ grill experience was enjoyable and easily explained for first timers -service was friendly and prompt -omakase 2 (one of the combos) came with everything included in the picture, excluding the papas bravas (bowl in the upper left corner) -price was reasonable for the quality of meat -great spot for a date or night out with friends

Yelp
Awesome dining experience! Cobra is a Japanese/Korean BBQ spot with a glowing bar and nightclub/karaoke bar in a very unassuming spot on the corner of Main Street/Liberty Ave near Lawrenceville. We went all out and got the Omakase II offering, which is the pricier option, but you get the better meat selections offered. The A5 Wagyu is what you're here for, outside of the experience. A selection of bonchon are offered prior to the meal itself, which are little dishes of pickled veggies and kimchi (the umami greens and radish were awesome). The BBQ was so much fun and very flavorful, with the wagyu being the obvious favorite. In the end, I found the omakase to be plenty of food for me! The restaurant/bar is decorated to theme - dark and moody. I loved the dark atmosphere, which offers a perfect transition to the bar and nightclub/karaoke area. The drink options are great; I enjoyed the Soju offering which was refreshing. Overall, the experience is certainly on the pricier side but most likely justified by the pure opportunity to taste A5 wagyu. Definitely worth a visit, whether you're looking for unique Korean flavors of the pre-made kitchen items or BBQ, this place offers a fun dining experience. Would recommend trying this place out, especially for a fun night out with friends!

Yelp
Another amazing experience as always! This time we had the Omakase II + Bulgogi and Asparagus. First time doing the karaoke room and it was a blast!! Worth every cent.

Yelp
Cobra is one of the most unique places in Pittsburgh to eat and drink! There are no outside windows which gives it a sort of ambiance. The cocktails are next level and very swanky. For the food I recommend a BBQ table. You'll have to book a few days in advance but it's worth it. Pricing all depends on what you order. Their famous Wagyu is at market place so it can be pricy. All ala carte grill options come with rice and some fix ins for the table. This is a great experience for a group to socialize and enjoy an incredible dinner.

Yelp
Has a truly incredible night with two other couples - we started the night with a toast for all the celebrating we had to do. I followed that up with a crisp glass of rose and friends enjoyed their amazing cocktails. The Korean/Japanese grilling fusion was SO much fun. I saw reviews that they don't give you much food but boy were they wrong. We were stuffed on amazing meat, banchan, and I also highly recommend the cucumber salad. It was the perfect palate cleanser! We were too stuffed for dessert but I can't wait to go back and grill again.

Yelp
UPDATE: After eating here my rating had gone from four stars to five! The food is beyond delicious, fresh and amazing. Pittsburgh has nothing like this at all and I'm glad they're in my hood! In addition it's just an overall amazing experience! The former Feng in my neighborhood of Bloomfield has been transformed into this amazing club. It's hip, modern and something you'd expect to find in NYC. Tonight was opening night with a dance party that was off the rails fun and exciting! The decor is fantastic and well put together. Staff was cool and knew their stuff, a couple of kinks but overall you'd never know it was opening night. Drinks are delish and fairly priced. The food will be Korean/Japanese bbq specializing in Wagyu. Starting next week the food will be available and my mouth was watering looking at the menu. Can't wait to get back for it. So glad the empty space that was Feng is now so rad. Just what we needed!

Yelp
Came here for a late night event. The ambiance and staff were great. I didn't get to eat anything so I can't speak on the food. What really upset me was the fact that they oversold their venue. My group and I went outside for some air and learned we had to wait in a line until enough people left to get back into the event. We ended up just leaving. Definitely not fair to patrons who paid a cover fee and to the service staff who we didn't get to close our tabs with. Not a good business practice/look and probably won't be back to try the food unfortunately. Event goers beware...

Yelp
Mediocre food set in a tacky nightmare. Like an off brand version of restaurants ive been to in bigger cities like nyc and sf. If you want dim lighting I suggest you pass and hit umami instead for a fun yet more elegant dining experience with less college kids singing karaoke

Yelp
I visited Cobra for a surprise birthday party and I was very exited about it. This was a sushi / hibachi restaurant that my family would visit often when I was a child. The table was not ready for our reservation time but it worked out. The only issue with this is that there is a time limit for the tables and I'm sure that this is a stress on the servers and kitchen. We had a party of 5, I think 6 is the maximum for a grill table but I can see that it could be challenging to have room for this many people with so much food. The dining experience includes several components. The excitement is for the diners to cook for themselves on the table grill, it's a fun challenge!! Due to the number of people we opted to order a-la-carte instead of going with the Omakase offering. If we would have ordered the Omakase we would all have to have had the same things and we preferred to get more variety. Drinks: Bubble Pop: This is very fun! This drink style is very common at high-end establishments these days. I did not try. One member of the party was super happy with this and I recommended it to another member who came in later. She was not as excited. Ube Bae: This is a lovely drink, very lounge suitable. I could sip on a couple of these in the dance area or in a karaoke room (I plan to book one of these at some point). Clarity: Very clean and refreshing! Sugar Free French 75 (my custom birthday request): 75 thumbs up on this one! Thank you!! The bartender was very impressive in my opinion. It's hard to request custom "off menu" items anywhere and this was a wonderful end of the meal for me on my birthday. Foods: Mushroom Mandu Dumplings: These read well but I wasn't as happy I I hoped to be. I think this was because the kitchen was under a lot of pressure and this is one of the items that are not cooked by the diners at the table. Cucumber Salad: Decent flavors, refreshing and funky. The spiralized cucumber is whimsical but not practical for sharing however. Corn Riblettes: High marks from the gallery but I did not try. We had a ton of food! This is a hip item right now so why not? For the grilled items a hunk of Wagu fat is provided for periodic re-greasing. We used all of it! Zabuton "Little Pillow": Great choice for someone who wants a cheaper Wagyu option. I thought that dipping in the seasoning sauce and salt before grilling was very good. Head On Prawn: Excellent quality. Our server made a cooking time recommendation that was not right however. I tore the first one apart before it was ready. put it back on the grill and all was well but it was messy. Tojoku Tongue: Excellent quality but it was hard to decide the best grill time for this one. The butter was a nice accompaniment. Also tongue is a bit chewy in my opinion so it's not one of my personal favorite ingredients. Bulgogi: Some friends loved this but it was over seasoned for me. Same with the Galbi. It did cook very well, super tender. Shishito and Scallion: Great for this cooking method. I would have rather had these included in the price rather than some of the other pickled items that were offered as accompaniments. They were just ok. They included sprouts, kimchi, daikon, and something else. The very strong tastes of the pickles were overpowering in my opinion, especially when added to the dishes that were already marinated. Mushroom: King Trumpets, Shitakes, Maitaki. These were a little challenging to cook on the grill, mushrooms have a lot of water, they took the longest time to cook. It was a great meal! I will definitely come back with friends and family. The sound system in the main area is AMAZING. I love the concept of this place and I can't wait to book a karaoke room!

Yelp
I have been wanting to come here since I moved to the city over a year ago and finally just made it. The wait was definitely not worth it. All the portions of meat are extremely small for the price. The taste was pretty good. But as of banchan (side dishes) they were awful. The bean sprouts were like tiny little thin bean sprouts no flavor just some sesame oil. Kimchi was disgusting. Had to pay $6 for lettuce wraps and they were so wilted they were awful. Even the rice tasted more like minute rice that real rice. Server was okay. Over all way to expensive for the size quantity and quality.
