Have been meaning to write this place a 5 star review. They lady and I came her for breakfeast on a wensday, it was moderately busy. Our food was delicious and the service staff was extremely friendly and knew exactly what yo recommended. The adobada con Piña chilaquiles are out of this world. Will definitely be returning for breakfast soon.

Servings were huge! Chilaquiles La Bomba we're amazing. Be aware the green salsa they use is spicy. Overall great plate. This is a restaurant worth getting out of your way for.

SerpAPI
Not disappointed. Hubby surprised me with a mini road-trip from LA to this spot. Chilaquiles de mole hit the spot. So hard to choose just one plate because they display all the menu options so perfectly upon entering. A spot to take family & friends!

SerpAPI
Extremely fresh Mexican food- and not laden with tons of cheese. Drink I had was a mango flavored and rimmed with a chili pepper mixture I think. The interior is pretty basic but the food is amazing and well worth it.

SerpAPI
The food is good, chilaquiles were kinda dry but after requesting more cream and cheese were ok. The service is cold, I suggest more customer service oriented , if you have to wait, there is no comfortable space for that, is pricey

The ingredients are so fresh and the food came out really quickly! The staff was great. To top it all off, the churros were really good too!

SerpAPI
It was very delish food. The people were very nice and helpful. If your a trucker you can park your truck put front and sit down and enjoy a meal. La comida es muy buena, very relaxing amd fresh to eat on patio and were able to see our truck and trailer out front.

NOT ENOUGH SALSA FOR TAKEOUT ORDERS!! whenever you get takeout make sure they give you extra sauce. The small container it comes with lightly covers half of the chips. I got two orders and had to use both sauce containers just to make one decent plate. This is supposed to be chilaquiles, not chips and salsa. Very sad breakfast today :(

Yelp
Food is delectable! Came here for a birthday and the staff made it very special with their excellent service. I've been to two of their locations and they never disappoint. Can't wait to return (:

Yelp
Well it is a long wait like at all times of day .. The food is shown to you a head of time but does it come that way is .. well some times. Food is good not the best but real good. The service is stretchy but I am sure it is because it is so busy.. so it good I guess. We had 3 different plates but nothing to say wow about at all

Yelp
Good sized portions. Vibe was chill, good music. Great service, our server was attentive and nice.

Yelp
I visited Cocina 35 for the first time since it was La Loteria. I brought my parents and cousin to try it as one of my old stomping grounds. It's really cool how they have the dishes available to view so you know exactly what you're getting. We got a combination of chilaquiles and my personal favorite, enfrijoladas. Everyone loved their dishes. We especially liked the fresh beverage, agua verde with cucumber. We even got some drinks to go. We also got churros (which were alright, not the best) and a packaged concha, my mom liked it. Overall great experience, fresh food, great service. It is in a business complex and the restrooms are inside of the business (not directly past of the restaurant).

Yelp
Fast service, friendly staff, and of course good Mexican food. Chilaquiles is their specialty.

Ryan J.

Yelp
This spot is one of my all time favorites. I absolutely love the Chilaquiles, my son had the American breakfast.

Ash L.

Yelp
These chilaquiles are no joke. Actually some of the best I've ever had. They're the kinds that stay crunchy without getting soggy. I had the chipotle ones and they really are amazing. It's kinda hidden but still in a nice area. The only downside is that they are always SO packed. I mean I understand why, I just wish I didn't have to wait so long. If you're okay with waiting for some REALLY good food, it's definitely worth it here.

Yelp
Cocina 35 was highly recommended by a friend! We each ordered a tocho-morocho. This included a chilquiles verdes, tamal grattinado, 1 huevo ranchero, and beans. I decided to add steak on top of my chilaquiles which was an extra $5, so wasn't too worth it. Also had an agua frescas la verde, but it was a little bit too sweet for my taste buds. For my first time having chilaquiles, I felt it was like a wet nachos. Huge fan of chips, so it was a great dish to try! Parking easy to find in the plaza. The place definitely gets busy!

Yelp
This place is pretty elegant and I liked the fact they attended us fast on a Tuesday. When you walk in you can see the food they make on display through a glass ,. I found that pretty cool. The server that took our order was kind and attentive. The food was quite cold ... I feel like they focused more on presentation which was beautiful but the food wasn't as hot as I wanted it to be. I found that I loved the frijoles and the chilaquiles were decent. I didn't like the cajeta toast as much because it tasted too much like egg but my friends on the other hand loved it . If you enjoy sweet cocktails definitely try the horchata one. One thing I didn't like was that the person who charged us was staring into the payment pad and looking at the process and how much we pay for tip.. I found that kinda rude. But oh well.

Rachel M.

Yelp
Love coming here! We had La Bomba and the mini pancakes. The tortilla chips of the chilaquiles stay super crispy and every bite is so flavorful. The only thing to make note of is we sat outside on a beautiful but windy day, so when a gust of wind came in, the debris from the trees that land on the tarp got onto the food. Luckily, I was already finished with my meal, but I just didn't get to take home any leftovers. Aside from that, this is my go-to spot when I'm craving chilaquiles!

Patricia C.

Yelp

Yelp
Went here for brunch on Black Friday as part of my dad's 64th birthday celebration. Most everyone ordered the chilaquiles. I ordered deconstructed carne asada tacos with house-made flour tortillas (can''t remember the exact name of what I ordered!). The plate came with cilantro, onions with flecks of habanero, salsa verde, and red salsa all of which was served in separate metal containers so you can modify how spicy and flavorful your tacos are. The meat itself was tender and cooked perfectly. I ordered a black cold brew as well. The drink came in a large mason jar. Lots of coffee which was delicious and strong! My mom and dad ordered churros with their meal and those were excellent too! Our server Hector took great care of us! He was very attentive and kind and patient. Since it was my dad's birthday he brought out the team of servers and we all sang Happy Birthday to my dad at the end of our meal, much to his chagrin because he didn't want us to He was a good sport about it! There's also a location in downtown San Diego. My sister-in-law said the parking there is tougher. We went to the location in Liberty Station. Parking was easy. The restaurant was large, open, and bright. The decor was playful and whimsical. Our table was right next to a large (fake) tree that had several branches sprouting what I think was supposed to be cherry blossoms. They were playing Christmas songs which I liked. My only very minor gripe was the volume of the music which could have been a tad lower. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My favorite chilaquiles in San Diego, specifically the Bomba Chilaquiles. The chips have the perfect crisp to them, they're not all soggy from being drowned in salsa like other places. The topping are delicious and plentiful. The only downside is side is the price, they are the most expensive chilaquiles ever, but if you know that going in then you're good.

Chris Y.

Yelp
I came to this establishment twice and both times I was very disappointed. Especially for the price you are paying. First time we came here I ordered French toast. The eggs reminded me of elementary cafeteria food where the eggs scrambled were all the same color. The bacon was so thin and crispy, soon as you bite into it, it all falls apart. The French toast was ok definitely not what I paid for. The second time I came I tried their chilaquiles, so bland no flavor what so ever. I honestly gave this establishment a try.

Yelp
We've been hearing good things about this place as we see the long lines in downtown. We decided to visit the Otay Mesa location and decide for ourselves. Even after seeing them at we can check in early, we didn't get to do it until we arrived. The wait wasn't too long. They gave us a# (that was associated to our table) before we went in to order. We had La Bomba Chilaquiles, the Cajeta Toast, & the Pancakes de la Féria. The coffee was very good. The soda and juices are in cans and bottles. As we waited for our food, we noticed they had these fly fans on the tables. I thought that was smart seeing that the servers were going in and out to the patio. It helped diners enjoy their food without the disruption. The restaurant was clean and the employees cleaned the tables right away for awaiting customers quickly. When they brought us our food, it was everything I ever imagined and hoped for! We've been trying a handful of restaurants just to try their chilaquiles. And we were thoroughly impressed. La Bomba Chilaquiles we're just what's it's called! The chips were partially crisp and wet, just how I like it! The texture of the special yumminess drizzled over the freshly deep fried tortillas were exceptional! The Cajeta Toast was amazing. Fluffy yet toasted perfectly. You had a choice of syrup on the table for your liking. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Our daughter had the pancake meal and she was so full and satisfied. If you love chilaquiles, please visit Cocina 35. If you've never had chilaquiles, please visit Cocina 35! You will never want chilaquiles anywhere else! If my review doesn't sway you, please look at my photos. We were thoroughly please in every way. Please visit. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Bomb chilaquiles , really tasty food and the service is swift ,very helpful and kind staff

Yelp
Want to start out by saying that the people here at cocina 35 are awesome. They helped accommodate the large party that we had. People from our party showed up here and there and made it tough for us to secure a full table, but Cocina was able to work with us and allowed us to secure two tables by one another. The food was very good and the portions are Massive. I recommend that if you are not too hungry to share with somebody as each plate is enough for two people. Secondly the fresh juices they offer are quite tasty and refreshing. Another good time brunching.

Priscilla L.

Yelp
Pretty decent chilaquiles! Cafe de olla 10/10! Horchata 10/10! Dessert also available! It's pretty packed on the weekends but it's worth it and there is multiple locations.

Lindsay N.

Yelp
I have always been a fan of their chilaquiles. My favorite is the Chilaquiles La Bomba. It's flavorful, the tortilla chips are crispy when they are served. I prefer crispy chilaquiles over soft... so that is a plus for me. Their agua frescas are also very deliciously made. Our last visit was a last minute invite after I already ate breakfast, but their food always sounds good to me so I couldn't resist. I asked the cashier if I would be able to order it deconstructed so I could take the rest home without it being soggy. The cashier said that they would be able to do that, but when it was served to me it was prepared as usual. Not a huge deal, but I wish they would've communicated with me- if they couldn't do deconstructed for dine-in orders. Our friends ordered the concha rellena and it was very burnt. However, they were able to see that and offered a replacement. Something that burnt shouldn't have even made it out the kitchen. Unfortunately, their customer service does not match the quality of their food. I definitely recommend dining in rather than to-go. You definitely get smaller portions if you order to go, but for the same price you pay for dining in.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come to Cocina 35 in forever and I finally was able to come and I was very disappointed. I didn't really like the experience of ordering like a subway type of way but I could work with that. When I arrived at my table; table was dirty and dusty. I asked the lady if they could wipe it down but never came back. The service was unsatisfactory, food was bland, carnitas are salty, my tamal was burned. There was a piece of plastic in my frijoles. They don't even try to give you authentic tortillas, they were like the packaged mission tortillas. I do not think it's worth your money. I would not come back to this place for a Mexican breakfast.

Priscilla C.

Yelp
Starting off with the positives, the service is quick and very nice. My two sons and I didn't have to wait for a table, we were sat down right away. We got there around 9:40am. I love how this location doesn't have the long 2hour wait compare to their downtown location. They give you a table number and before you sit down you get to see what each dish looks like from their display. We ordered our food, received our drinks and we sat down. Within a few minutes we received our food. Both of my boys loved their food. I enjoyed my chilaquiles. It is a huge portion so I only ate half and took the other half to go along with my coffee. My only not so positive comment is (and it's really not that negative so that's why I'm still giving it 5 stars) is that you are really driving to the end of California. My service on my phone changed to Mexico while I sat inside the restaurant.

Laura M.

Yelp
First of all, I LOVE chilaquiles. My all-time favorite Mexican Breafast dish! This was our first time here at the Otay Mesa location. At first, we got a little worried driving there cause it's nested smacked dab in the middle of business warehouse, with nothing but semi trucks and construction sites. Lol. But it's there! Also, pro tip: just the waitlist on Yelp before even heading down there! Thank me later. Being a first timer at any Cocina35, I, of course, always over order the menu. Because why not? Lol. I labeled everything we ordered. For the most part, everything was really good and flavorful. They have a good-sized portion, and we def had to take togo boxes. I didn't get the chance to try the Ranchero one, though. I personally always go for green VS red sauce. The only complaints I had were that the meat on the La Bomba was a little dry. &the dish could've work worked with extra sauce. The burrito was just like a wrapped up fajita. It was missing something for me there as well. My beastly children can EAT, so idk if this applies to this comment. But the portion for kids' entries was prob more for toddlers. Cause my kids were still hungry after eating the eggs& pancakes/toast. The concha, boyyyy when I tell you it was murked. It was MURKED, it was dead&gone. No trace left behind. Lol. Def my fave dish for sure, even though I'm biased and will always favor sweet desserts over savory entrees. Oh& for the drinks, they have water cups at the bar to provide. They only have canned or bottled drinks. Except for the Mason jar juices. They had 3-4 flavors, I forgot which. But I had the guava one& and I only had one sip before my son actually inhaled it. But the tiny drop I had was good. It tasted like sweet guava that could've worked with some Tequila addition to it, too.

Yelp
Very delicious! Located in the industrial area of Otay Mesa in an office park. Lots of parking. Was popping even on a weekday morning. Service was friendly. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Portion was huge. Very fresh and flavorful. About $20 for one plate of chilaquiles but definitely shareable. Would return again without hesitation!

Krystal C.

Yelp
All working staff had extremely poor customer service. Our drinks never made it to our table, and when I went to the front to ask about them because we were literally done with our meal the cashier seemed annoyed. Hot water was brought with no ice, never once did staff go and check on us. So much for tipping ahead of time. Very disappointing.

Griselda S.

Yelp
Came here after being recommended by my brother and this place did not disappoint! I love that you are able to place yourself in the waitlist ahead of time. We tried chilaquiles and the cochinita pibil torta we really liked both. It was a lot of food but just means more for later! Their agua frescas were also very good. This place but out of the way. It totally worth it!

The R.

Yelp
A tad overpriced but considering it's a lot of food I guess it's okay but I paid $60 for 2 people with the basic chilaquiles and 2 orange juices . Food is still really good if your willing to pay that. Service is fast

Collette S.

Yelp
The food was amazing for it being Mexican. I normally don't like going to Mexican places because I can have it at home. The drinks were delicious. The service was quick and good. The ambiance was night. Of course, the wait was long for a weekend morning. It was expected.

Rosa M.

Yelp
We went to the restaurant in Logan and was not to happy that they serve your food in to go containers however the chilaquiles were delicious.

Samahndi C.

Yelp
Food was great. Huge servings but super customizable. Loved it! This location is small but they get you in pretty quick.

Luz O.

Yelp
It was delicious!!! My sister picked me up from CBX and I was starving. This place is close by so that was a plus!! Walking in you have the menu items displayed under a glass and that is awesome, because you can see your options. My sister and I split El Patron that came with bomb French toast with Cajeta and we got the green chilaquiles. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!! I do hear this place is popular on the weekends.. calling in advance is recommended.

Annette M.

Yelp
We tried chilaqiles, torta , pancakes, everything was really good . Definitely going back !!!

Kearney R.

Yelp
The food was great! I really like how I was able to make an on line reservation. No wait at all!

James V.

Yelp
Got the Chilaquiles verde with Carne Asada and the meat came out burned... Returned the plate so the meat can be cooked normal... The plate came back with burned meat again... Its suppose to be a mexican restaurant.. Not sure why my carne asada was burnt twice.... Chilaquiles were good but the green sauce was way to spicy.. had to throw some away... French Fries were good.... I DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING ANY MEAT ON YOUR CHILAQUILES. THE COOK WILL BURN YOUR MEAT. It was Disappointing.......

Livy C.

Yelp
Salsa was so good! Chicken was nice and toasty on my cremosos chilakiles! If you like piloncillo, you will love the coffee!! But they have regular coffee also. They get really busy so reserve ahead of time!

Victoria G.

Yelp
The pink onions are my absolute favorite. I enjoy the bold color and flavor. It goes great on rice.

David R.

Yelp

Pris M.

Yelp
Still great service and food is tasty and fresh, the restaurant is clean and organized. Portions are still massive.

Shirley S.

Yelp
mm mm good! as in finger-lickin good the food is delicious. first time here and i will make sure to stop here for brunch every time i come back to visit. they specialize in Chilaquiles, I had La Bomba, can I say that the creamy habanero-cilantro salsa is everything!!! i also decided to treat myself with some flan.

Orquidea F.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Chilaquiles crunchy and delicious Excelente comida y personal súper amable

Cat N.

Yelp
The wait to get inside is crazy. They do not take reservations so I waited for almost 2 hours. Since I've heard this place has the best Chilaquiles (waiting wasn't an issue). Once I finally got inside, the aesthetic was lively and bright. They took my order right away. Long story short, I've had BETTER Chilaquiles. There's was more on the bland side. The BEST thing on their menu is the Concha French Toast. Do yourself a favor and order that!

Angel G.

Yelp
I decided to go first thing in the morning and this place was delicious. Fast service and very clean environment. This is perfect for the whole family as well. Plenty of seating outside or inside. The chilaquiles plate is huge! Enough for 2 people! The cafe de La olla wasn't strong and little watered down. Overall the food was great and they are not scared to stack your plate! No wait since it was early in the morning but I do know it gets busy after 11am on the weekend. I will definitely be coming back for breakfast.

Zamantha F.

Yelp
Super dekicioso, muy bien servido y un ambiente muy grato para disfrutar de tu desayuno.

Alma M.

Yelp
Everything is good here! Their specialty is chilaquiles and they are great! Came here for the first time for a business lunch. I loved it so much I brought my family soon after making a quick trip to Tijuana. The food is tasty, the portions are generous and the overall experience was amazing.

Brian Cruz C.

Yelp
Food is great some of the best chilaquiles but the system they have to order food is stupid to say the least. They have waiters but you gotta order your food before you sit? I had to wait for a party of 7 older ladies who didnt know what they wanted to order. Given i waited 30 mins to get in then another 20 just to order the food and only one register open. I mean come on what is this?

Sam S.

Yelp
Decided to try out this location. I asked for vegetables instead of meat on my chilaquiles and it was rip off. The only added small pieces of squash, onion and tomato!! I mean tomato, isn't that even considered a fruit? The frijoles were okay and the chilaquiles itself were good with the habanero green sauce. The wait wasn't terrible approx 35 min. They only have food displays as a menu. They should have the actual menu and the prices. It's really uncomfortable bringing your own drink to the table. The tables outside are cheap. It wasn't a smooth surface so my plate was basically surfing side to side. This place definitely needs an upgrade asap.

Juan F.

Yelp
Food was delicious and the drinks were really refreshing unfortunately the only down side to the place I went is that it was a small one, about 10 tables inside so it felt a bit too crowded when eating my meal. I know they have other locations in downtown San Diego so maybe I will visit another one another time.

ROXANA I.

Yelp
The food service I tried the eggs with beans and fruit my mom had the trio with machaca , chilaquiles and they come around offering pastries conchitas they are freshly made. I can't wait to go back and try the drinks as they look very delicious.

Espy M.

Yelp
Based on my experience it is best to dine in if you want to get your moneys worth for chilaquiles.... Pros of ordering to go: You eat in the confort of your home especially when you have a newborn ... Cons: wait time is longer then you are told and serving size is way smaller for Chilaquiles Chilaquiles sauce flavor is delicious regardless I was here this morning with with a friend who ran into her family and they let us order before them because they knew we wanted to get back home asap... the cashier told us it would be 10-15 mins and it ended being more like 35minutes... wait time to pick up would be less frustrating if they would keep u inform after they notice we had been their longer the the people who ordered after us . My friends family got their order within 5-7 mins max and were almost done eating by the the time our order was packed. I would have thought that to go orders would be served first like mist restaurants but it is the other way around here. I checked with cashier & waiters 3-4 times and finally 35-40 mins later our food was ready . Portion size: way smaller then if you dine in... I will post a picture of my order vs cousin meal which was same as mine and you will see that my black bowl is lot all the way to the top and only had. 1/4 of avocado wedge vs 1/2 avocado. Picture may seem like a good portion but believe me , I saw the dine in order was like wow "that's plenty " and then said "wow this is lacking " when I opened my to go order at home. Overall I do not recommend you spend on ordering to go or else u will feel as if you over paid especially if you cook DELICIOUS chilaquiles like I DO . . This was my first time ever ordering to go and my first time at this location . I have always dinned in at the down town restaurant... Also , I experienced better customer service at the other location compared to here. Protein topping I prefer: Machaca and cochinita pibil, What did I order today ? El Sinaloense, with creamy Chipotle chilaquiles , it was served w sweet corn tamale ( I recommend you ask for the tamal condiments on the side ... in my opinion it taste great without cotija cheese and mexican sour cream) and Beans ( bland tasting,) Warning : Chilaquiles and VERY high in Carbohydrates!!! I am not giving medical advice but, but ... DO NOT BRING YOUR DIABETIC FRIENDS HERE and if you do, make sure they only eat 1/4 of whatever the plate has ... STAY HEALTHY, drink plenty water with your meal and go for a 45 minute walk afterwards
