The 26 Best Restaurants in San Juan, Puerto Rico | Eater

"Tucked behind Cocina Abierta (worth a visit on its own), Oriundo is chef Martín Louzao’s newest experimental concept. Louzao, a long-time restaurateur and creative, pays homage to Puerto Rico’s forgotten and underutilized ingredients in a monthly dinner series. Seatings are announced on the restaurant’s Instagram page and sold out within hours. Each dinner includes prix fixe menus for omnivores, pescatarians, and vegetarians, along with thoughtfully selected wine pairings. A few recent pop-ups paid tribute to pana (breadfruit) and the Caribbean land crab. Top chefs from the Caribbean and Latin America frequently make appearances, showing up with native ingredients of their own. If you can score a reservation, you’re in for a memorable experience." - Paulina Salach Antonetti

While in Puerto Rico we wanted to support the movement for food sovereignty through sustainable farm to table dining. Cocina Abierta was a wonderful experience with a vegan tasting menu option. My husband and stepson both agreed that the vegan dishes were truly the best, they did the menu very well. Nice cocktail menu as well, good service, we had a lovely evening.

Google
We were looking for an upscale experience in San Juan for the weekend and Cocina Abierta delivered without breaking the bank. We did the $85 tasting menu and every dish was exceptional, with the dessert probably being the highlight of the meal. Cocktails were also delicious and complemented our meal well.

Google
A uniquely wonderful dining experience from start to finish. Each dish was a feast for the senses and everyone we interacted with was gracious and kind. The highlights for me were the duck mofongo and the “wildcard” cocktail made by the incredibly talented in-house mixologist, Rafael. This was such a special evening and I hope to return someday!

Google
This had to be my absolute most favourite meal and restaurant we went to during our stay in San Juan! It was 10/10 with absolutely everything from the locally sourced ingredients, to the unique cocktails, spectacular service, and the flavourful and well thought out out courses - or Acts as they are called on the menu! We opted for the 5 course tasting menu, and were not disappointed with any of our selections!!! From the Rainbow Runner Crudo, to the Breadfruit gnocchi, and Croillo Duck Mofungo - EVERYTHING was amazing! I’ve never been a huge fan of gnocchi- but I honestly could eat the gnocchi from Cocina Abierta every day without complaint!! The ambience in the restaurant is stunning — and definitely makes it a restaurant that you can go to for date nights, special celebrations or whenever you feel deserving of a treat!! Next time I visit San Juan, I will definitely be back!

Google
Came for dinner and had a seasonal $85 per person 5 course tasting menu. Portion is very good, the overall taste is new for me and it’s decent. For one of this dish, the fish was slightly overcooked but the others are pretty amazing. Would definitely recommend to come and try this place out for thier interpretation of PR cuisine

Google
The 5 course tasting menu is the way to go. The menu is carefully crafted with flavor, texture, and color in mind. Each dish was exceptional and left us feeling full and satisfied at the end of the night. The squash Wellington was phenomenal. A great place to stop for dinner for the night, and the price is really great for the experience you get.

Google
We had an incredible experience at Cocina Abierta. The space is unique, excellently decorated. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. However the real winner is the food. We did the tasting menu and were blown away with the quality of the dishes. We each tried different items, and enjoyed every one of them. This is truly a great experience in San Juan. The dishes are elegantly crafted with excellent flavor combinations. Some of our favorites included the oven roasted snook, carpaccio, and bisteak. You will not be disappointed in dining here.

Google
The different courses are interesting both in presentation and flavor. My favorites were the robalo, mofongo, and the cocoa dessert. The drinks were delicious, and the service was 5/5. They cook with local and seasonal ingredients, which is why I think visiting this restaurant is totally worth it! My number one restaurant during my first visit to San Juan! You shouldnt miss this!

Yelp
Tasting menu meets Puerto Rican cuisine meets exceptional service and unique design (shoutout to our top notch server, Glauco, and his assistant Yaneliz). A cozy and relaxed atmosphere for a tasting menu, compared to some of the uptight tasting spaces in America and Europe. Our Abierta experience was elevated by our server, Glauco. He truly went above and beyond to provide excellent service and show us the test kitchen, Atelier. Your Abierta experience can be as special as you make it. Savor every sip from the wine pairing, and allow each bite to light up your senses. You will not be disappointed (unless you don't live nearby and wish you could visit every season - like us). The farm to table experience introduced fruit, seafood, and meat into one - my favorite! While I am no longer vegan, I recommend Cocina Abierta to all vegans and vegetarians. The incorporated fruit left my heart whole and happy! Gastronomy at its finest. Little did we know, Cocina Abierta is owned by the same group that runs other restaurants in PR that we planned to visit during our trip to beautiful Puerto Rico! While so many different reasons will bring us back to Puerto Rico, the openess and experience at Cocina Abierta with Glauco is one of the top three reasons!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite meals in San Juan. We opted for the tasting menu and it's kind of a must when you are here vs al la carte. Except - I had to add in an appez of empanadas. While everything was favorable, I most appreciated my sesame ice cream and cake dessert. This is a very modern take on Island cuisine with great cocktails set in Condado. The only meh was it was not a true open kitchen scene per described, otherwise service was also top notch.

Yelp
My cousin was married in San Juan and I helped organize a dinner for 35 family members. Minina did a great job organizing a wonderful multi-course dinner with local ingredients that everyone loved. The food was spectacular, especially considering the size of the group. The room was very elegant and modern and perfect for mingling.

Yelp
Absolutely more delicious tonight than it was the first time I came in!! I had a salad gnocchi and steak. Each course better than the last. Absolutely hands down the best food in San Juan. Don't believe me try it for yourself!

Yelp
Before our courses began we were served pan de muerto and tasty gazpacho. The progress tasting menu went as followed: Course #1- LANGOSTA ESPINOSA Y CALAMAR DIAMANTE- very tasty and delicious Course #2- FILETE DE PESCA FRESCA- great dish and I enjoyed it Course #3- PATO CRIOLLO- interesting dish and so many flavors/textures Course #4- FILETE DE RES- delicious food but courtesy they should ask how you'd like your meat cooked. Course #5- Cacao | Café | Frutas olvidadas The service was very attentive and friendly. I was glad to try this experience on my first night in Puerto Rico.

Yelp
Wow what a gastronomic food experience, a 5 course meal designed to awaken food palettes and fusion. Perfect portion. Our bill was $400 with no alcohol. Worth every penny, a must try

Yelp
If I could rate higher, I would easily do so. This is perhaps one of the best restaurants that I've ate at. The compounding flavors, service and unique spin to traditional entrees is what separates them from the field.

Yelp
What a pleasure to have been able to partake in this creative culinary experience! We came for their 6-course dinner on NYE 2023, and it was amazing. We are vegetarian and were totally blown away at the creativity of the dishes. They didn't just slap a cauliflower in place of a piece of meat...they actually treated the local/seasonal veggies to make them works of art. My favorite presentation by far was the Taro Terrine--they layered thin slices of taro together to make it look like pork belly. In general, Puerto Rican food isn't the most vegetarian-friendly so it was really special to be able to taste such elevated local flavors while visiting the island! Despite doing a vegetarian menu, our bellies were beyond full. In fact, we had to ask to have the 5th course packed to go because we were getting too full! We passed up the wine pairing this time around, but did enjoy a delicious cocktail and soursop lemonade. The service was absolutely impeccable: warm, hospitable, and attentive. I highly recommend this experience and hope to return whenever I am back in PR!

Yelp
Cocina Abierta in San Juan is the ultimate birthday hotspot! My friend and I enjoyed a delightful prix fixe menu featuring Puerto Rican and Caribbean cuisine. The service was top-notch, securing us a last-minute reservation. Although our table wasn't ideal, the overall experience was still wonderful. Located conveniently within walking distance from the Marriott, though parking might be tricky. Treat yourself to an upscale dining experience at least once during your stay in Puerto Rico. You won't regret it!

Yelp
Couldn't rave about this place enough. The food was amazing! Our server Oné was kind and helped us with our selections. It is pricey at $85pp plus drinks but well worth it. If we had more time I'd go back!

Yelp
We went to PR for a week to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We chose this restaurant for the actual night of our anniversary. We were not disappointed. I do not normally give out 5 star ratings, but this restaurant deserves one. The dining room was small and intimate. They only serve the tasting menu and we were initally concerned about that, but once things got rolling, we knew we were in for a treat. We started with the ceviche and butternut squash soup. Both were fantastic. I loved the spicy nature of the soup and the freshness of the ceviche. Then we had mushroom al pastor tacos and duck. Both were phenomenal. For our entrees, we had the local catch which was snook and beef filet. We traded back and forth and could not determine which was better. For our deserts, we had a lemon item a rich chocolate tort cake. They were the perfect ending to our meal. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a fantastic experience.

Yelp
This place is spectacular. A restaurant with heart, soul, and purpose. The food is unique and delicious. The staff and service all made me feel like I was family. I came for the food and left with an experience. If you are in San Juan, you must check this place out. I came multiple times while I was on vacation because I wanted to try everything on the menu. And don't get me started on the drinks! Simply amazing! More restaurants should take notes about how this place does business because they could learn a thing or too. Trust me, you won't be disappointed here.

Yelp
Cocina Abierta is casual fine dining. The restaurant gets right to the point with a five course tasting menu for $75. The tasting menu provides there options for every course. If nothing listed in the course appeals to you, there is a gnocchi course available. 18 year old and I shared our dishes so we got to taste most of the menu. The menu changes seasonally. I already checked the website and the menu looks different already. My favorites were two dishes from Act 1, wild leaves and fresh ceviche. My least favorite dishes were from Act 2, the butternut squash and conch. The other dishes were good but were not as fabulous as other tasting menus I have had. Service was attentive. There is an inventive cocktail menu. Lovely place for a night out in San Juan.

Yelp
Pure hype! We had both vegetarian and omnivore 5 course meals. Their appetizers started off strong , then the local dish with stuffed meat was terrible. The beef entree in end was below par. Dessert was below mediocre. I wish they offered more options when you're paying $95 a person. I would rather eat at LALA. Their service and ambiance was excellent. Hence the better rating. 3 people food costed me about $400 and I would rather play that at the casino. They can do better.

Yelp
If you're seeking an unforgettable culinary experience in Puerto Rico, look no further than Cocina Abierta. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with a warm ambiance and an inviting aroma that sets the stage for what's to come. The menu at Cocina Abierta is a celebration of flavors, textures, and creativity. Each dish is a work of art, expertly crafted with locally sourced ingredients and a passion for culinary excellence. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or simply appreciate good food, there's something for everyone here. I had the pleasure of trying both the omnivore and carnivore preset menu and was blown away by the depth of flavors and the perfect balance of ingredients. The presentation was stunning, almost too beautiful to eat (but too delicious to resist). What truly sets Cocina Abierta apart is the impeccable service. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. From explaining the flavor profiles to explaining their beautiful wines they go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. In addition to the exceptional food and service, the atmosphere at Cocina Abierta is simply enchanting. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or that special someone, the cozy yet sophisticated ambiance sets the stage for an unforgettable evening. Overall, Cocina Abierta exceeded my expectations in every way! It's more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary journey that tantalizes the senses and leaves you craving more. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu.

Steffanie L.

Yelp
The ambiance is alright. And if I'm being honest, service was spectacular but food was sub par. In addition to that, I think it's important that when setting up a menu that ONLY allows you to purchase chef's tasting menu then it is 1000000% unacceptable to bring out a LOBSTER dish in front of a customer who very specifically mentioned having a a strong shellfish allergy. Courtesy of this restaurant, I got to jab my leg with an epi pen while on vacation and spend the rest of my night itchy with hives and an allergic reaction breakout. So thanks, but no thanks. Don't go here if you value your life.

Yelp
This is our second trip to Puerto Rico and the third time we had heard someone say we needed to eat at Cocina Abierta. The first night we tried to go, someone had bought out the entire restaurant. So I think it is safe to say, it's pretty amazing! We were able to get in the next day and honestly we are so thankful we did. It was one of the best chef's tastings we've done and also quite reasonably priced too! Totally worth it! We definitely recommend doing the wine pairing with it, but if you're not a big drinker perhaps select a wine that will pair well with all that you order. For example, I knew I was ordering more white meat and seafood, so I went with a white wine that I could enjoy throughout the tasting. My husband did the pairing and LOVED IT. Our waitress Valerie was amazing as well and she actually chose a specific wine for one of his "Acts", an orange wine (Bonny Doon Vineyard Le Cigare Orange). It was incredible and like nothing you may have tried, so we highly recommend that as well. Truly, everything was well done from the palette cleanser to the dessert wine. Something I really appreciated about Cocina Abierta was that everyone that works there is passionate about the food, the restaurant itself and providing you with an exceptional experience. The overall vibe is cozy, romantic and quaint, on the strip of Condado Beach, but nestled a block away from the "excitement". For our visit we were celebrating our anniversary and were made to feel very special the entire time. Puerto Rico is where our story began. From our first date to now our first anniversary and we are thankful for the amazing memories that were made on this trip and that evening. To everyone at Cocina Abierta, thank you!

Yelp
OMG! It's 5 courses of fine dining and culinary greatness for $75! It's a fixed menu and you make sections for each course. The hubs and I sauntered in with no reservation hoping to give it a whirl. Lucky for us, there was a single table available. The server was friendly and offered us great recommendations for our course selections. The beef Wellington, duck, causa, and the ceviche were my favorites, but everything was divine (and perfectly prepared) from top to bottom. All of these amazingly presented dishes (and high-end proteins) for this price is a steal, actually. This experience was worth every penny and more. Compliments to the chef(s)!

Yelp
My partner and I came here to celebrate our engagement and we were not disappointed! The staff altogether is amazing and made sure to congratulate us with a cup of wine each. Super attentive staff and on top of everything. Oné was such a kind soul and made sure we were taken care of. The food was so flavorful, we did the tasting menu. I was honestly full by the end of it. We loved the experience ! Definitely recommend !

Yelp
Gracias Cocina Abierta!

Yelp
Five course meal that is out of this world! The flavors, preparation, and presentation is impeccable. Must do the wine pairings first each course. Wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. Medium size location with the perfect atmosphere and musical accompaniment. Highest recommendation!

Yelp
My partner and I celebrated Valentines Day at Cocina Abierta during our trip to Puerto Rico. We were so excited as it came highly recommended to us by many travel websites. Maybe it was the night we went, but we left disappointed. Our biggest concern was the spacing of our meals. A couple came in 30 minutes after us who caught up to us in courses. My partner opted for the wine pairing but found he would have finished the wine or sat with it for a long time before the food even came out. I personally ordered a non-alcoholic drink that did not come until 2 courses later. The courses were fine, with minor improvements that can be made. I was very fond of the lobster course but found the pieces my dish was topped with to be overly salty and completely raw compared to my partner's dish, which were torched. My pasta course was slightly undercooked and could have used a bit more time to boil. The beef course was the most disappointing to me as I found there was no flavor besides in the sauce. I was not a fan of the rolled vegetables and found it to have a weird mouth feel. My biggest highlight was the cassava panna cotta. It was delicious and so beautifully bright. The crudo course afterward was well balanced as well, and I love the cirtus additions. Dessert was a hit! We loved the chocolately goodness with crunchy bits in it. I think there can be some work done in general cleanliness as well as I found the booths to be stained with food. Originally, we sat all the way in the back directly next to the bathroom, where you could hear people wash and dry their hands. Thankfully, our server was gracious enough to let us move one table over away from the curtain wall but told us that the place was "packed out." Our section had 4 tables and only 2 were utilized when we were there, including our table. We were not checked-in on during our meal besides when they presented the courses. During the beef course, my partner and I had to share a knife as the one provided with me had old food stuck on it. Overall, Cocina Abierta was a fine experience but one I wanted more from. We left still incredibly hungry and grabbed a bite on our back to the hotel. Work can be done in terms of the spacing of the courses, portions, cleanliness, and service.

Yelp
This has to be one the of the best dinners I've ever had. It is a 5 course menu and you get to choose from 3 different options for each category. I loved how they came out and explained everything being served to us. The uniqueness of the flavors and dishes was amazing. The drinks, the ambiance, everything was perfect. Highly highly recommend! Especially if you're into special dining experiences!
google avatar

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance exceeded my expectations. It was truly an experience within itself. It is nothing i have ever tasted and i enjoyed every bite. The food is definitely on the pricey side but it is so worth it. The food is from farm to table, so all the ingredients are natural. Some of my favorite dishes were the ceviche, spiny lobster, and their fish filet.

Yelp
My wife and I are from the NYC area, spoiled with an abundance of great food options, and love to eat amazing creative food wherever we go. With that as background, I implore you not to miss a visit Cocina Abierta when you are in San Juan. It is one of those magical restaurants that nail every element: food, drinks, decor, and service. We have been here multiple times (including hosting our wedding rehearsal dinner here) and it is consistently, creative, friendly, and delicious. Last week we returned to Covina Abierta, bringing our 6 year old son with us. The staff was fantastic with him - creating a special chocolate drink for him and serving him a delicious gnocchi. We can't wait to go back.

Stephanie A.

Yelp
Everything about this dinner was amazing! The service was top notch. Each dish exceeded our expectations. We'd love to dine here again next time.

Yelp
If you are from the mainland this restaurant will deeply disappoint you. It was 95$ for the omnivore 5 course meal. All the courses were overly salty. They charge you $3.95 per portion of tap water which had an aftertaste so we did not drink it. The shredded duck had bones in it. I would not pay for the food served here. Save your time and money for food elsewhere. The only slightly decent food we got on the island was from a food truck called Lena Eh.
google avatar

Reggie M.

Yelp
Cocina Abierta is chef Martin Louzao's tasting menu. Since the weather on the island was lovely we decided to dine Alfresco. The menu was simple and easy to understand. We decided to select a few dishes from the different acts and share them family style. For small plates we ordered: 1. Fresh catch ceviche; Leche de Tigre, peanuts, tostones 2. Mushroom Al Pastor tacos; Sweet potato tortillas, seasonal fruit pico de gallo; we enjoyed this on our table since we had to prepare it ourselves, as in what sauce and pickles we want to put in our tacos. 3. Yellowfin tuna tataki; Cassava fritter, Lulo & cabezon pineapple ponzu, onion & fennel marmalade 4. Spiny lobster; Orangelo miso glaze, white bean and cashew purée, roasted vegetables All the small plates came in a timely fashion and we both agreed that our small plate selection was on point. It was delicious with lots of flavors to enjoy. For the main entree, we selected: 1. Beef Wellington; Rosa Bianca eggplant, mushroom, and bacon duxelles, demi-glace 2. Plantain Mofongo; Smoked pork bondiola, ginger BBQ sauce Shiitake soy consommé Both dishes are equally impressive, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The portion was good for sharing as well. The entire experience blew us away, the dishes are delicious and the staff are attentive and nearby when you need something. This place is worth the visit while on the island.

Yelp
I had a good time, the food was good. I would like to offer insights of my own. The experience of fun, especially for anyone who's never had it. The cost of the experience doesn't equate to the overall experience itself. The food wasn't on par with the pricing, I was underwhelmed. I've had 5-7 course meals and the intricacies in those meals were vastly different in comparison. However I do believe the cost is in directly related to imports and the cost to get things. Worth experiencing it by all means.
google avatar

Cyril D.

Yelp
A neighborhood gem. Nestled in the Condado area, this restaurant does not disappoint. The food is inventive and spectacular, seasonal with an emphasis on local products. The service is on point. Should be considered for a Michelin star!
google avatar

Fred K.

Yelp
What a pretentious place! Ridiculously over priced for what it tries to be. Let's start off by charging 3.50 a glass of tap water! Yep tap not bottled but plain Jane tap water. The food is interesting but a $300 Meal for two that leaves you hungry? Come on! I'm From New York and certainly not one that's been to my far share of expensive restaurants but this is way over board for a small place in not the best of neighborhoods in Puerto Rico. The staff is friendly but for heaven's sakes spend your money elsewhere they definitely don't deserve the high markup of inexpensive plates and tiny tasting items they offer.
google avatar

Nneka B.

Yelp
Everything was perfect. They couldn't have been more accommodating. My party was a group of 4 people. 2 of the 4 had very large lunches and weren't hungry enough to do the 5 course menu. The staff allowed them to order the salad and bread dish (not on the menu) while the remainder did the traditional tasting menu. I added a wine pairing and it was delicious! The food came out promptly. Everything was visually gorgeous and oh so yummy. The staff patiently explain every dish and wine pairing to you. We didn't leave any scraps! Do yourself a favor and cake a dinner reservation here. You won't regret it. Pro tip: Buy a round of drinks for the kitchen. At the end of the night they'll get to order a drink and unwind as they shut down the restaurant. After this delicious meal, they deserve it!

Yelp
Experienced Cocina Abierta during a stop in San Juan on our last cruise. Be sure to make a reservation if you want to try this place - we saw three different groups turned away while we were waiting on an Uber to pick us up. We actually booked a table about a month in advance. That much advance planning probably isn't necessary - but let me tell you - it would 100% be worth it if you had to book that far out! This was a fantastic meal. We loved the restaurant's tasting menu concept where you can choose one of several choices for each of four courses - wish more restaurants took that approach. None of our choices disappointed, but some of the standouts were the spiny lobster, the conch and... believe it or not... the Beef Wellington! I could not believe it when I saw Beef Wellington on their menu - it just didn't seem to fit with an upscale Puerto Rican restaurant. I asked our waitress about it and learned that it was one of their most popular items - so I had to try it. Wow! It was one of the best I've ever had - probably even more so because it was so unexpected! If you're visiting San Juan, plan ahead to visit this restaurant - you will NOT be disappointed!

Yelp
We visited this restaurant many years ago and decided to try it again. To our surprise the menu was transformed into a "tasting menu" instead of a "a la carte". It was absolutely perfect. The pace of the servings, the freshness and quality of the food, and the Chef's selection, we're absolutely perfect. Service has dramatically improve as well.

Yelp
Cocina Abierta is one of the hidden gems of Condado Beach. Focused on serving everything fresh and local that the island has to offer. It is the perfect balance between cozy, intimate and upscale. Their menu offers two options, a vegetarian option or a non-vegetarian one. Each option consists of a 5 course (act) tasting. They offer a wine pairing to go along with the menu, each wine perfectly picked to enrich each dish coming out. I had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant two nights in a row so I had the opportunity to try both menus and they both were incredible! From their vegetarian menu what stood out to me was their 2nd act which consisted of thinly sliced taro root layered one after the other on a Peruvian huancaina sauce. From their non-vegetarian menu their 2nd course was their catch of the day which luckily for me it was swordfish and the flavors were just amazing. All the staff members are very knowledgeable on each individual dish. If you have the opportunity to sit at the bar DO IT! You'll meet two of the best bartenders Rafa and Mike, they created some of the best mocktails I've ever had. The service, ambiance, food and drinks is what made me come back that second night, don't miss out on this experience on your next visit to PR!
google avatar

Dane K.

Yelp
Had a stunning meal here on our most recent visit to San Juan, a Tuesday in September. Dined with the husband, occasionally we opt to sit at the bar when it is just the two of us, for the more personalized attention from the bartender, and Gabby was outstanding... perfect cocktails and happily answered all of our questions. Menu changes seasonally. All courses were spectacularly flavored. Tried some unique dishes that I normally wouldn't venture towards and I loved it all. Upon delivery of each course, the runner made sure to describe each dish down to the ingredients. San Juan has become a foodie destination and we will be regular visitors! (Reservations strongly suggested here!)

Yelp
The restaurant only had a 5-course meal for $75 on the menu. There were no other options; perhaps because we sat at the bar? I shared all 5 of these small plates with a friend, over the course of 2.5 hours. Since we ate slowly, we were satisfied with the portions. The food was amazing!

Yelp
Incredible service and food with ambiance to match. I spend a lot of time and money in high end restaraunt experiences but I'm not super pretentious about it. Sometimes I leave a michelin restaraunt and feel like 2 courses were incredible, 3 were great, and 2-3 were meh or too focused on being cool but not as tasty. It's a hummer because you blow a ton of money. This place is just amazing. I went with a big group and we tried every single item and shared to make sure we all tried everything. 13/15 items were incredible and unforgettable. The last two were very good and well executed, just not my thing. Eggplant and mushroom tacos were good but not my specific flavor. Two other people loved the mushroom tacos so what the hell Do I know. I went back a second time and made sure we had: Guava gazpacho Ceviche Conch causa Gnocci Spiny lobster Falafel Beef Wellington Fresh fish Tres leches The Maitre D was a lady who was the most knowledgeable person who had excellent wine recommendations and a master of her craft for both service and food

The food was tasty. The staff was attentive. I was with group and the food was served in courses that made the service slow. Definitely not blaming the establishment for that. When I go back to PR will definitely stop again to get the full experience.

Yelp
Overall the food was well prepared and properly cooked but some dishes had odd flavor pairings. The pace of the food started out excellent but after the second dish, the kitchen had a 40 minute delay, while things did not seem overly busy, it would have been nice to have someone let us know instead of wondering when the next course was coming. We did not leave hungry, we thought the sizes were appropriate for a tasting menu. The wine list has a woman owned/wine maker along with sustainable focus, bottle selection is good, but too small of a selection for wine by the glass. The wine pairing with the tasting menu was excellent, it was $60 I believe, but perhaps a little too pricey for just 5 dishes. The inside of the restaurant has a nice ambience, tables are far enough apart. We did find it a little pretentious depending on who is waiting on you but the staff seemed to loosen up through our meal.

Yelp
Food 5/5 With a beautifully curated menu, I selected the carnivore's meal. It was filled with surprises and gorgeously plated dishes, I think my favorite was the meatloaf and the mofongo. The chicken came out too dry, and the host was extremely gracious and understanding by giving us complimentary champagne as a way of apology. I was very impressed by their actions and loved every moment of my meal. Interior 5/5 We were seated at the super cute outdoor area, perfect with the sunset and the evening breeze. The interior was also very modern and the bathrooms were super cute too. Service 5/5 Honestly, they deserve more than a full score, such great hospitality!

Yelp
Just delicious with great service. All items on the menu were really tasty and we enjoyed the food and the drinks and the ambience. They even made something for our 19 month old and the gnocchi was so tasty. Great place and what a great find

Yelp
Absolutely an amazing experience. Great menu! They use all fresh ingredients hand picked by the chef. I highly suggest the their 4 course menu, ask the waiters, I am sire they are going to suggest it. The ambiance is amazing, food gets 5 star from me and service as well. Definitely a mist every time I visit Puerto Rico.

Yelp
Pretentious little restaurant - I do get that "fine dining's" small portions help guests to enjoy the full spectrum of tastes that are on offer, and that small portions are meant to keep prices low when certain ingredients may be expensive, and that fine dining is an art and your food usually looks like an art, but this place just misses the mark. I read all the reviews and booked reservations 2 days in advance to enjoy this experience with my husband on the last night we were in PR. The website has an appealing design and it is taunted as being romantic and high end. We booked outdoor seating and the restaurant called us the afternoon of the reservation to confirm our choice. When we arrived for our reservation I was surprised that the outdoor seating is right beside their drive for valet parking and the seating area itself was just standard restaurant style metal chairs - nothing elegant or charming as it should be of a place with menu prices of 75 per person. The menu consists of acts, 5 acts in which you select a plate. Since I was with my husband, we made sure to select different options so that we could taste a little bit of everything. I had the Roma tomato and guava gazpacho for the first act and my husband had the Fresh catch ceviche. The gazpacho was fine, I am going to post pictures so you can see the bowl- and you can see the 8 tablespoons of gazpacho that I was served. My husband's ceviche consisted of maybe 6 shrimp that were chopped. Again, I knew we were in for small portions and I can deal with that but they need to be mind blowing portions. The shrimp ceviche came with peanuts in it which seriously changed the texture and taste of ceviche. Both dishes were more visually appealing than they tasted. I won't make the review any longer by going through the next 4 disappointing courses other than uploading the second course of mine which was the Conch Causa- which was described as Candela sweet potato | Kalamata aioli | Pisco Sabayon | Happy hen eggs Sounds interesting but when it came out (see attached picture of dark plate with pancake looking paste in center) this is when I knew this 200 dollar dining "experience" wasn't going to be the experience I expected. This dish was completely off with the textures, the flavors... I am going to equate it to baby food with small diced veggies on the side. The rest of the menu (including the spiny lobster that was more like thin lobster ribbons instead a clump of lobster meat) was the same- to many flavors going on at the same time and weird texture choices that distracted from the core meat or vegetable. We did not say anything to the server and we did eat most of what was presented because it's not like you can send everything back and apparently we are in the minority by the reviews, and since the portions were so small it was easy to just chase it with a beer and be done. We left her a nice tip and quickly left to go enjoy the rest of our evening and to talk about how we just ate 200 dollars of flowers, pastes, and several ounces of meat.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere, great service, and superb quality-to-price ratio. I came in expecting to order one of the three prix fixe menus, but was told that after Hurricane Fiona, the restaurant had to improvise with the available ingredients so now diners are free to order a-la-carte. I ordered one "4th act" and one "5th act" dishes, and both were very tasty. The catch of the day was a pan seared snoke served on a peanut curry sauce, and the beef wellingtom was well-executed. Overall, if you ever find yourself in Condado, skip all the touristy restaurants serving overpriced food, and get yourself a reservation here instead!

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant. A must if you're in San Juan. We ate here our last night and we're blown away. The ceviche was one of the best and most unique I've ever had (and I've had a lot of ceviche). The mushroom tacos were also fantastic. The mofungo was probably my least favorite dish, but I wasn't a huge fan of it in general. The beef Wellington looked good, so wish I had gotten that instead. I love that there were creative vegetarian dishes offered for every course. We had the wine pairing, which was a cool experience. I believe they were all by female wine makers and primarily natural wines. The ambiance and service were great too. Relaxed, but very professional and knowledgeable. I want to go back to PR in another season just so I can eat a different menu here. I'm surprised that the Michelin Guide hasn't discovered this fantastic restaurant yet.

Yelp
I came to PR for my 40th birthday with some girlfriends. This is THE BEST food I have EVER had in my life. Every course was spectacular. I recently went to a Michelin star restaurant in Michigan where I live and this was a million times better!!! It's very affordable in my opinion for such a beautiful experience $75 per person for five courses which are very filling. I'm pregnant so I cannot drink but they also have a wine pairing for $60/ per person that sounds incredible. Everything looks beautiful and tastes even better. So fresh and and just perfect. I will never forget this place and this dinner. Definitely visit this place if you want an elevated experiences
