Where to Drink Margaritas in San Diego - Eater San Diego

"Perhaps the most beautiful margaritas in town, Cocina De Barrio garnishes their fresh lime and agave cocktails with a rotating selection of popsicles. They offer classic Barrio Margaritas as well as versions in flavors like cucumber and mint." - Kelly Bone

Birria tacos were decent, however the Aguachile negro the sauce consistency was nectar/gelatinous I didn’t like that at all, really alters the taste. Service from waiter was great. My low rating comes from being disappointed as to how dirty the restroom were. We were there for Sunday brunch and it had not been to busy. Also we were there for a while (well over 2hrs) and the whole time there, no one checked the bathrooms. I’d recommend they be check hourly at minimum. You could tell they had neglected to check bathrooms for hours. 😩

Google
Great experience. Walked right in & were greeted quickly as well as seated. Food is freshly made, tastes like a home cooked meal & the servings are incredibly large. I ordered the veggie hash, which was lovely. So much potato & veggie goodness. Leaving with leftovers, I had enough for 2 more meals, for a great price-under $20! Staff are kind & attentive. Highly recommend.

Google
The people were great and everything, but the food not worth it… got an aguachile de mango habanero but the sauce was not it! Then the chilaquiles were salty and the sauce wasn’t good either

Google
All in all, my food was pretty good. One thing I need to remember is to remind them to serve my food hot. I dont like it when the cheese barely melts on my beans. That is my preference not so much their fault.

Google
I stopped in for brunch at Cocina de Barrio and ordered the veggie hash. It was super filling. I even had leftovers to take home. I loved that I could customize it by adding soyrizo and avocado, which definitely elevated the flavor. The dish had a bit of a kick to it, so if you’re sensitive to spice, just a heads up! My only critique is that I wish the veggie hash had more veggies and less potato, but overall it was a tasty and satisfying brunch option. The vibe was chill, service was friendly, and the brunch menu has some tasty looking, creative options for plant-based eaters too. I’d definitely come back to try something new.

This is definitely a restaurant you’ll want to try! Everything I have had here is delicious! Today I had enmoladas, mango aguachile, and three cocktails which were over the top fantastic and decorated beautifully. I am Latina so I normally don’t eat at Mexican restaurants because they’re too American for my taste. But this is one I will always enjoy coming to because the food is authentic, delicious and visually pleasing. All the employees were very attentive and kind.. If you haven’t eaten here, you gotta check it out.

Google
I’ve been to Cocina De Barrio a few times, and each time I’m taken aback by how incredible it is. Everything you order is visually stunning and bursting with flavor. The menu strikes a perfect balance. It’s broad enough for everyone to find something they’ll enjoy, while still being honed in on high-quality, traditional Mexican flavors. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. For my girlfriend and her friends, the highly competitive sport that is ordering bottomless mimosas was made even better by our waitress, who hyped them up and always asked for their next order as they were finishing their current glass so she could have it ready. If you’re a fan of well-crafted cocktails like me, the drink menu similarly fails to disappoint. I highly recommend El Pionero, even if you’re not usually into mezcal. It’s a vibrant mix of citrus and tangy lime, balanced by a hint of smokiness and a savory black salt rim. One thing to keep in mind is the wait during a busy brunch. As far as I know, they don’t take reservations for brunch, and your whole party needs to be present to get on the list. I’ve waited about 30 to 45 minutes depending on the day, but it’s well worth it. Overall, Cocina De Barrio is an incredible experience that all San Diegans should absolutely try at least once.

Google
Look, from my perspective I don’t think that this food is authentic Mexican cuisine. I ordered the huevos rancheros and the enmoladas. The “mole” is more of a distasteful red salsa. My husband who eats basically anything left a good amount of food behind. The waiter was unfriendly and seemed bothered. The star I leave is for the young lady who nicely greeted us and took us to our table. She deserves the star for her positive attitude and good vibes.

Yelp
Saw this place online and heard great things about the food and well ... IT WAS MORE THAN AMAZING!!!! We tried the ceviche de Robalo , the sopa Azteca and to finish it off we had Quesadillas de Huitlacoche and the Chamorro de borrego. The presentation was fantastic 10/10 and our server CHUY was absolutely outstanding. He took really good care of us and even made us some delicious cocktails. This place is amazing and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Loved eating here, the spot is beautiful and theres a bank next to the location you can pay and park at (after bank hours 5pm) i got the tacos and the birria was so good! My sister got the tlayuda & they really are able to get that authentic tlayuda from oaxaca taste!! I got the el zapoteco drink - a nice smoky/cinnamon type of taste. My sister got this fresco de granada - it was fruity, tasty and a bit sweet she loved it. Service was great, he made sure we were taken care of & was very kind, great inviting energy. Thank you!

Yelp
My family and I were looking forward to trying this restaurant since we love Mexican food, the place looked upscale, and reviews seemed great. Unfortunately, my experience didn't match the hype. The food itself was good, but the service left a lot to be desired. We sat for about an hour and only received the initial round of drinks when we first arrived--no refills, no check-ins. My water glass was empty most of the meal, and even after making eye contact with a server who looked right at it, nothing was done. I ended up drinking out of my daughter's orange juice because there was simply no one around to ask. On top of that, the tortillas were cold by the time I ate them. Sitting outside in the chilly weather, it would have made a big difference if they were kept covered. The only time the server came back was when my husband asked for the check. For the price and atmosphere, I expected much better service. With so many amazing Mexican restaurants in the area, I'll likely choose somewhere else next time.

Yelp
3.5 stars if I could. I have to be in the mood for this type of Mexican but when I am, Cocina de Barrio is solid. This was my first time at this location. Great service as usual. Parking was abundant and easy around 5pm on a Friday. My husband and I shared the aguachile negro, which was fresh and a very interesting dark sauce that was a bit bitter and heavy in soy sauce. Not my favorite but glad I tried it. We also shared the quesadilla, good portion size, and I liked the corn mushroom and mole combination. I had the short ribs for my main. Again great portion size, good mole, and I like the rice and little masa dumplings . Not a huge fan of the carrots they come with. I do wish the mole had a a bit more spice and flavor but it's still good. I LOVE the molcajete and salsa, which was the best part. This time I tried the La Paloma margarita. Unfortunately this was a miss for me. Very bitter and sour, not a good overall flavor, hardly any alcohol and tons of ice.

Yelp
Very disappointed with my experience here. Went with a party of 11. The Chilaquiles had no flavor, the pancakes were horrible. Honestly the best thing that I ate was the tortilla chips with salsa. We have a lot of big backs in our family and no one finished their plate. The service was not good. The food was worse. They weren't even busy and our service sucked. 2/10 do not recommend!!!! Do better Cocina de Barrio! Add some salt! Add some flavor to your expensive food.

Yelp
We have been to the other location at Hillcrest and we like it, so we decided to try out this location when we were in town. We ordered their signature popsicle tequila drinks along with chip and salsa. The drinks are good as usual. However, the service at this location is quite slow and inattentive. No one came by to offer water or take order 15 mins after we sat down. The first basket of the chip was all broken in little pieces. No plate was given, and the server didn't offer the refill on the water and chip when it's empty, we had to raise our hands and ask for it.

Yelp
We figured we gotta try at least 3 Mexi joint while in San Diego, so this was our third. This was a very sleek, modern Mexican set-up with seemingly a modern twist on many of their items...as you'll see from the pictures. For drinks, my husband got beer (Lager maybe?) and I got their Mezcal-infused cocktail, but forgot the name. I noticed that their drinks are beautifully presented. What's more, they even have these Popsicle cocktails! Maybe next time on that? We started with this uber-fancy appetizer, Infladita de Barbacoa. WOW to the presentation...and another WOW for the taste! This was a tremendous appetizer dish....really, enough to be a meal. We both LOVED this!! For our mains, my husband chose the Pollo En Mole Coloradito, and I got this Short Rib En Mole Negro...and both came with these tortilla wraps on the side. More WOWs for these dishes. For desserts, we tried their Creme Brulee...and expected, it was delish as well, and surprisingly an authentic French version. My husband and I agreed that Mexican foods are at another level here in San Diego. I mean we just scratched the surface of their Mexican foods (probably haven't even tried THE best in the city??), yet all 3 that we tried were quite impressive! Frankly, I'm not even a big fan of Mexican foods...but of San Diego's Mexican, I'm a HUGE fan. Anyway, we both thought their foods (and drinks!) deserved 5 stars!

Yelp
The vegan breakfast/brunch menu offers delicious and unique vegan options. The dinner menu is less enticing when it comes to protein rich vegan dishes. That's why I recommend you try it for brunch. I love to order the ensalada de barrio and the soyrizo scramble to share with my family. It's a perfect blend of fresh and savory. The food is prepared quickly and with an eye for detail. Servers are always available to give you refills on coffee and water. There's ample seating that ranges from cozy two tops to family 10 tops. There's indoor and outdoor seating, which is always a bonus in San Diego. It's nice to have the option to sit outside. Overall, it's a must try for a delicious vegan brunch!

Yelp
This Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem that I am so glad to have found! First off, I love when I don't have to search endlessly for parking. This is in a shopping center, so easy peasy, George and Weezie! The aesthetics are super cute, the restaurant was clean, and the music not so loud that we could converse without raising our voices. Our waiter, Christian, was lovely, attentive, and patient when we couldn't decide what we wanted. I had a mango paleta margarita and OMG, it was so tasty and refreshing that I ended up having 3!! My friends had the tamarindo paleta margarita and they loved their drink just as much. I wholeheartedly recommend! We shared, family style, and ordered chips with salsa and guacamole. The salsa was fresh, so yummy, and the portion is huge! For dinner we decided on a delicious salad, steak, and the mango shrimp ceviche. It was more than enough for us 3. We had a wonderful time at Cocina de Barrio, highly recommend to everyone, and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Cocina De Barrio is an amazing spot to go to if you're looking for a delicious Mexican Brunch! With a very hip and cultural ambiance, Cocina De Barrio provides excellent food and service. We had bottomless mimosas for $22 and I felt like the quality and selection of drinks justifies the price. They have a wide array of flavors, my top three being Watermelon, Tamarindo, and Mango with a Tajin rim. There is a 90 minute timer for this deal, and they are very punctual when it comes to timing. Even when we were all done eating, we were informed that our 90 minutes were up and we had to vacate the table. I had the Sopes Benny and I thought it was a perfect combination of a traditional Benedict and birria. The potatoes had a perfect balance of softness and crunch and the birria was very flavorful. The "English muffin" was made out of masa and provide an interesting twist to a classic dish. The eggs were also perfectly poached. I had also tried the Crème Brûlée French Toast, and simply put, I would go here again just for this. The flavor of the crème was not too sweet and paired well with the fresh berries. Overall, Cocina De Barrio is a great spot to head to if you're looking for a spot to have brunch with friends!

Yelp
Great place, especially for Brunch. There's lots of parking and the wait wasn't too long as long as your whole party is present. We had a party of 6 and the staff was very pleasant and attentive. The food choices were excellent with Breakfast and Lunch selection as well as signature drinks. I do wish they had more "mocktails" available. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing with a few places to take pictures - outdoor patio seating is great but it was a bit chilly when we had arrived so we opted to stay indoors. We had a variety of plates and large serving sizes. Would definitely return and would like to try their Lunch/Dinner.

Yelp
Sunday chilaquiles craving had us torn between Cocina 35 and Cocina de Barrio. We called both--Cocina 35 hit us with a two-hour wait (seriously?!), while Cocina de Barrio said, "Minimal wait." Easy choice! We walked in and got seated instantly. Our server, an older gentleman, was awesome--great recommendations and top-notch service. The chilaquiles verdes with birria? Insanely good. Tender, flavorful, perfect. The red ones? Meh--not spicy at all, but still tasty if you like it mild. And the pineapple upside-down pancake? No pic because we inhaled it. SO. GOOD. Sat outside with a nice breeze and good vibes. Cocina de Barrio nailed it--definitely coming back!

Yelp
Mi DESAYUNOS!!!! For Point Loma this is probably hands down the best Mexican upscale breakfast spot you will eat at. This place is like if Hash house a Go Go had a baby with Karina's seafood. Any way try it for your self and don't forget to ask for a popsicle in your cocktail.

Yelp
We had a birthday dinner here and they did a great job serving the large group which I know can be a challenge We shared several apps including ceviche, guacamole, and salmon. All the apps were fantastic I had the short ribs mole and the short ribs were very tender and the sauce was delicious. There is plenty of parking at this location

Yelp
Came here when they opened, and the restaurant filled up pretty quickly. I usually get a savory and a sweet dish at brunch. For sweet we got the churro French toast: the scoop of ice cream on top complements the other flavors well, the churros have a nice and gooey center, and the fruits are fresh and cut through the cinnamon/creaminess of the rest of it. For savory, we got the tlayuda with beef birria: the tortilla was nice and crispy and acts as a good base to carry all the your flavors. Can't say that I've had tlayuda before, but it was very delicious! I also got the house coffee, which was pretty average coffee. Service wise, even though we were tucked into the corner the waiter would check in very regularly. The inside has simple decoration with emphasis on wooden decor.

Yelp
Visiting from Denver and came across this fabulous restaurant. The food is delicious! I had the Teyluda with chorizo and it was so unique and delicious! My husband has the lamb and beef tacos and loved them as well. The place is in a shopping strip center lot but is beautiful. Staff is really friendly and they have a great wine and beer menu along with any drink you'd like! If we lived in San Diego we'd be regulars. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The best brunch spot in SD! I've taken friends and family here several times and haven't had anyone complain about how delicious the food is here. They have a wide variety of traditional Mexican brunch foods and Mexican food with a twist! The service here is quick & they're very friendly. The chilaquiles verdes is a MUST and the perfect savory dish if you want a somewhat untraditional take on chilaquiles (it lacks eggs, but does not lack flavor), churro French toast which is so yummy, and the best mango habanero aguachile which is also a must. The restaurant is huge and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Is good for large groups. But I do recommend making reservations if you plan on coming on because it gets PACKED, but note that brunch is first come first serve. They just opened a new location in north park and I'm excited to try it and hope it's just as amazing as this one.
google avatar

Matin N.

Yelp
This place is so incredibly authentic and delicious. The inside is lovely and the service is amazing. This is one of my favorite places to get some amazing Mexican food, especially for breakfast.
google avatar

Pearl M.

Yelp
This was one of the many places that kept coming up when researching good food in SD. Came on Friday right at 3pm which was the start of happy hour! They had $5 margaritas! The vibes are beautiful, earthy, with Mexican art all around. We tried to gauc, birria tacos, and churros. Everything was top notch including the service !
google avatar

Yelp
Cocina De Barrio Point Loma (they have locations in Encinitas and Hillcrest too). This Mexican restaurant is known for their trendy brunch offering Mexican breakfast classics, with options featuring their popular beef birria, all you can drink Mimosas ($22) and creative cocktails that take you right to Mexico. *They get super busy so I recommend getting there right when they open since they don't take reservations during their weekend brunch. On Sundays, Brunch is served all day long. PARENTS: They didn't have a kids menu so we just ordered a side of scrambled eggs, bacon, and fruit - not so kid friendly in that aspect. We ordered: Fuego de Passion - Mezcal with Aperol, fresh watermelon juice, passion fruit, lime, agave ‍House margarita Buttermilk pancakes Tlayuda with beef birria (must try!) Enmoladas (braised short ribs) Huevos Rancheros
google avatar

Cayla Marie H.

Yelp
I didn't know there was a Cocina De Barrio location in Point Loma, so my friends and I decided to give it a try! There's plenty of parking - that alone will bring me back to this location. Haha The restaurant shares a lot with other stores, so parking was plentiful. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. I love fun drinks and they had a bunch to pick from. My eyes are first, so I had to grab a popsicle margarita. Pretty and delicious. I tried the Lamb Memelitas - so good. The meat was tender and saucy. I don't see lamb on menus often, so this was a must try for me. You can't go wrong with churros and ice cream, so it was the perfect ending to a great meal.

Karen T.

Yelp
I forgot how excellent this place is, why did it take me so long to return? Food, drinks, service, value 10 out of 10. Food is so fresh, flavor explosion in every bite. We took advantage of the happy hour, which is now on my list of the best in town. The prices of eating out are skyrocketing, and hard to find good food at a reasonable price in Point Loma/OB. Everyone should be here. Will be back for dinner as well, menu is full of exciting options. The pork ribs were spectacular also on our first visit. Very nice interior and outdoor seating on a nice day.
google avatar

Zynette C.

Yelp
Birria beef tacos were so good! Guac and dessert were yummy too. Loved the ambience of the restaurant. Staff were helpful always making sure our water glasses were filled!
google avatar

Elishia M.

Yelp
Great service by Chuy. Food was great. Stopped in and it was happy hour. You have to love a HH. We had the mango habanero ceviche, guac, salsa, chips, Birria taco's, shrimp taco's. My favorite had to be the ceviche. Thank you for the hospitality. Look forward to stopping by on my next trip out to SD.

Yelp
What a great find! The four of us and my mom went to brunch and it was delicious. The service was great and it's a cute restaurant. Drinks: the tequila mula was great. Not too sweet. The tamarindo margarita was sweet but delicious. The michelada was a neat presentation. The food was amazing. The churros were filled with cheesecake. The tinga chicken was yummy. But the shrimp was so good. Spicy and flavorful. The rice has black beans in it. So good. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
Love coming here for happy hour. Can't beat $5 margaritas. Been here a bunch of times and will be back again.
google avatar

Kristina Z.

Yelp
I'm sitting here on a Friday night wondering why this place isn't packed! The drinks are delicious, the food divine and well plated. My daughter is literally stealing my birria! Super cute interior too. The staff is absolutely lovely. Christian was the friendliest server.
google avatar

Molly G.

Yelp
Cocina de Barrio is such a vibe! The atmosphere is lively, the food is delicious, and the drinks are next-level creative. I ordered a margarita and was surprised (in the best way) when it came with a popsicle in it--so fun and refreshing! It's the kind of detail that makes the whole experience feel extra special. The tacos were packed with flavor, and the guac was super fresh. Great spot for a fun night out with friends or even a casual date. Highly recommend if you're looking for bold flavors, great energy, and a margarita you'll be talking about long after the last sip.
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
Definitely falls in between 4 and 5 stars. Not my fav part of town ( Midway) for dinner but they have several locations. Decor/ ambiance very casual. Service / servers very friendly and helpful. The server we had ( both times we've eaten here) is named Christian. Very knowledgeable re food and beverages. Food is nicely upscale. This is not a place for "typical" Mexican cuisine. More gourmet food but not pretentious. Food quality, taste, and presentation all rate highly. Drinks were good. Large parking lot. Definitely worth a try if you'd like to sample upscale Oaxacan style Mexican food.
google avatar

Karla M.

Yelp
The jalisco express is unique and delicious. The service is quick and they check on you the right amount. Ambiance is enjoyable. The one thing they can improve is to provide chips and salsa and no cost.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
We had been wanting to try Cocina de Barrio for a while but was deterred by the often challenging parking in both Hillcrest and North Park. This place is an absolute hidden pearl. Located in a plaza with a large parking lot and ample parking, stress free! Casual ambiance with some indoor and patio seating, and fast service. We came earlier, like 10:30 on a Sunday, and our party of 4 was able to be seated immediately. Service is fast and they have an extensive brunch menu - both American and Mexican style - with many fun options. The churros and french toast is an absolute MUST: warm, chewy, perfectly toasted, with fresh berries/bananas and vanilla ice cream!! I also had the chorizo hash which was delicious although a bit heavy on the potatoes. Friend got the popsicle margarita which was super fun and instagrammable. Will definitely be back and recommending this place and this location to others!

Stephanie M.

Yelp
We went to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday with unlimited mimosas and good food experience so we chose this place . FYSA They give you a 90 min seating time once you sit down . They don't take reservations so make. Will only seat you when your whole party arrives . Okay so I'm rating 4 stars for the food and drinks. If I could rate the staff , all were very friendly and helpful minus the one lady who works in kitchen and threw a attitude cause she brought out the wrong order then threw the hot plate down in front of my son... very rude very unprofessional very aggressive and she kept talking crap even in kitchen still as we had a clear view -oh boyyy -that lady should definitely be fired for sure the other staff and manager apologized -she was about to get a casssmeoutside moment as my daughter said ... but gotta keep it professional ,we told everyone and also her co workers even witnessed it ! Shameful they got the order wrong then had nerve to catch a b*** fit with us in front of us ! what do we laugh? I let the host know these two things that I thought they could do to improve. I told her the food was great. I said that lady was a B *** and also told her about two other things one is to have the condiments on top of the table before the food comes out we had to ask for salt we had to ask for pepper we had to ask for syrup we had to ask for ketchup we had to ask for hot sauce as long as they have some on the table ready so we'll have to keep asking them when our food comes on be amazing . If somebody's ordering bottomless mimosas, make sure if the champagne bottle is not on the table for them to do it themselves that the staff is paying close attention to when the peoples class gets to a point where it needs to be refilled and then I'll have to wait and so waste part of the bottomless mimosa 90 minutes of their time . I also let her know the following : We had a party of 19 they sat us in the back corner of the inside by the kitchen long table . Not bad not bad but just a fyi right there it's very hot the AC kicks on once in a while and since there's no windows right there with the table, there's no circulating air so just FYI. Also 4 of us got bit up by mosquitoes under and around the table .( see attached picture ) All in all, it's great like I would go back for sure. Definitely probably not in that same section if I have a big party, but the food was good. We had the Chilaquiles and the I think the coconut Nutella French toast and it was very, very goods everybody else Loved their food also .Also bottomless mimosas were great. The purple one tho -(no one liked that flavor .)They have vegan options also which is great because we had a few that couldn't eat any meat .
google avatar

Venus V.

Yelp
Pretty good spot, just know what you're getting lol. Last time I tried the salmon breakfast, it was ok, not enough salmon, lots of potatoes, greasy and very salty. I always opt for the verde chilaquiles bc it never disappoints and the cafe de olla (delish Mexican coffee). Service is exceptional-open kinda late for breakfast and cool decor and dimmed lighting indoor and outdoor seating.
google avatar

Cindy H.

Yelp
Chuy was pleasant! His service was amazing!!!! I tried The memelitas they were delicious and full of flavor. The sopa Azteca was comforting and rich--definitely a must-try. On top of that, the service was excellent. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Taelyr V.

Yelp
Amazing!! We have tried the Hillcrest location and decided to try this one, phenomenal. I got the Chilaquiles and they were so flavorful with a good amount of spice, I loved them. Their beans were sooo good too I could have eaten a bowl of them. My partner loved her omelet and beans as well (and she doesn't usually like beans). Our server Alberto was amazing, attentive, and funny. The decor and vibe of the place was great too? Super cute. Will definitely be coming back to this location.
google avatar

Maria A.

Yelp
The food was amazing! We had to go back the next day. The chilaquiles rojos are so good.
google avatar

Karime F.

Yelp
Food is not great, ordered entomatadas, the tortillas wasn't warmed up enough so it felt almost gritty when biting into it. The food in general isn't hot it's barely warmed up. The vegan aguachile is frothy? It's definitely not aguachile - this is one of those spots that are pretty to look at but you don't need to come back to. $205 later and I'm still hungry
google avatar

Priya A.

Yelp
Cocina de barrio is such a beautiful place and I am glad we stopped by for brunch here. The service was friendly and staff was very kind to our kids. I ordered the chilaquiles with nopale and it was pretty good. I had to ask for some hot sauce and was given this amazing homemade hot salsa.. i wish i can bottle it and take it home.. my friend ordered creme brulee french toast which she rated as amazing.. the orange cream it came with was soo yum! the kids enjoyed a veggie omlette.. will definitely be back when in town.
google avatar

Janine D.

Yelp
This is second time eating here. First time was a five and second time was a three, hence four stars. First time was for happy hour and the food was so tasty. Second was to try to third brunch. None of us really liked our meals except for Hunter omelette. Everything had potential, the lamb Benny, chilaquiles, and shrimp quesadilla but nothing really hit. I'm sorry to say. Just not much flavor. Great presentation. Large portion sizes. Great service. Food was meh.

Yelp
Stopped in before seeing In Flames and Machine Head at the Observatory. Friendly environment, good tequila and great food!

Yelp
Food is amazing delicious and the portions are huge! If you are looking for authentic food I highly recommend! Will definitely come again.

Yelp
Honestly, you've gotta be kidding me This restaurant is insane. The flavor is out of this world. Service incredible. You can't get a more traditional high-quality Mexican meal anywhere else in San Diego. Honestly, I challenge you. High end, complex flavors, and fantastic cocktails. What more did you want?

Yelp
The server was nice, but they did serve my boyfriend expired orange juice. And their cafe de olla was not sweet and traditional at all. The sopes were good, but the egg was more hard boiled than anything. 8/10 My boyfriend got the chilaquiles were good 10/10 Overall is it expensive for what is it.

Yelp
What an amazing experience! Richie took great care of me and my friends. Would definitely recommend coming in for one of the happy hour margaritas and a bite to eat!

Yelp
Mole Poblano delicious. Probably my favorite dish. Tinga quesadillas Costillas en salsa verde . Truthfully I wouldn't order the chilaquiles again, but the meat on them delicious. I would say they weren't as consistent at checking in on our table. Be aware that they add their own tip to the bill with bigger parties.

Yelp
Attentive service, delicious food, beautiful presentation- creative cocktails. Our out of town guests from San Francisco were quite impressed with this dining choice. We've been to Oaxaca and felt the food here was a good representation of the region. Thank you for not disappointing us. We will definitely come back again and try other dishes. Gracias, Cocina de Barrio Pt Loma.
