Yelp
Coconut sundae and sticky mango rice are quite a random combo for a chilly Sunday evening, along with coconut water to wash it down.
They are a new discovery for me and frankly, I am in between 3 and 4 stars since the desserts we got were yummy. I grew up eating tropical fruits from the tropical trees in our backyard (coconut, mango, guava, papaya, and more!), so these fruits and flavors are near and dear to my heart (and stomach).
This dessert spot is decked and lush with green, tropical aesthetics. They have a quaint and small outside area. This is where the "COCOBOMB" lit-up sign is. However, it is TIGHT in there and the floors are a bit sus...not as stable as it should be. Regardless, it's a cute social media spot (see pics).
Indeed, the sundae and sticky mango rice were absolutely delicious. No complaints. The coconut water, on the other hand, I could've skipped.
What lacked during our visit was customer service. The staff wasn't rude. Not at all. However, I don't think we were greeted, which is... fine, but I would expect SOME level of positive customer service, especially after paying almost $30.
The parking is also confusing. It doesn't look like they have a dedicated parking area, so that could be an issue if you come when it's busy.
After asking myself if I would come back here... I think it's a "maybe." I would really need to be craving JUST these desserts to make it worth my time.
If their customer service was better, this would be a 4-star review. I will note that we came in 30-minutes before closing and there was a group of 3-4 people in there... but... so what?
I also think they are at a disadvantage considering their location, so I implore them to step up customer service and any other areas they can improve on.
This is a blanket statement to all businesses--with costs continuing to rise, a smile, upbeat attitude, a "welcome" and "thank you," goes a looooong way.
I'd hate to see Coco Bomb BOMB on business fundamentals.
