Would rate this 3.5 if I could. We had some really nice dishes here, but factoring for the relative price, we left a bit disappointed. First, this is a very beautiful space - one of the nicest in town for sure. The ambiance is excellent.
For service, for the most part it was very good, with one major issue - the white wine was served at just below room temperature. They put it on ice, but even 10 mins later it was too warm. So, we ended up adding ice to our glasses.
As for the dishes, the gem lettuce salad and the tooth fish were both pretty underwhelming. The salad was almost there - but lacked flavor and needed more dressing, and very little char to give it the texture. The toothfish was very small, and the flavors overpowered this delicate fish.
The dishes that were good included the scallops with carbonara pasta, the wagyu tartare and the king crab salad. All flavorful and well crafted. We finished with a foie gras, which was high quality and nicely seared, but a bit too sweet with the sauce. Still decent. Oh, the bread and butter were nice, although the amuse bouche (seafood gyoza) seemed like a pretty basic dumpling.
So, some hits and misses, but for the price (about 3.5m per person) was expecting a bit more.
