Nabila’s treat My visit to CoCo Ichibanya was an absolute delight from start to finish. Every aspect of the experience; the food, the service, and the atmosphere, was nothing short of perfect. The main highlight was the squid rice menu. The squid was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, and the curry itself had a depth of flavor that was simply incredible. It's clear that every ingredient is chosen with care, resulting in a dish that is both comforting and exciting. The staff provided top-notch service with a genuine warmth that made me feel incredibly welcome. They were attentive and efficient, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. The atmosphere was also fantastic, clean, comfortable, and inviting, creating the ideal setting for a wonderful meal. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to return.

Coco Ichiban is a great little spot if you’re craving Japanese curry. The staff are really friendly and attentive, and food comes out pretty quickly, which is always a plus. One unique thing about this place is their spice rating system that goes all the way up to 20. For reference, a 5 or 6 is about the heat of Tabasco, so you can really customize it to your comfort level. The curry itself is on the runnier side compared to traditional Japanese curry, but it still pairs nicely with the rice. The omelet is perfectly cooked (not runny), making it a solid choice if you want something comforting. The pork, however, was a little overcooked during my visit, and it would have been nice if they provided a knife to make cutting it easier.

If you're a fan of Japanese curry, Coco Ichibanya in Frisco is a must-try! The ability to customize your curry with different spice levels, rice portions, and a wide array of delicious toppings makes every visit a unique experience. Many reviewers praise the consistent quality, noting that it's just as good as the Coco Ichibanya locations in Japan. While it can get busy, especially during peak hours, the delicious and comforting curry is definitely worth any potential wait. The staff is generally friendly and efficient, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to Japanese curry, Coco Ichibanya offers a satisfying and flavorful meal.

Walked in and waited around 5 minutes before we got seated. We were greeted warmly by the workers and were able to order within a few minutes of sitting down. We ordered the garlic naan, and 2 versions of curry. I liked the variety and various choices we could pick. One of the best curry places in dfw in our opinion!

Melissa Akins

Google
Compared to Okinawa, this isnt the same. We came 6 hrs for a taste of Japan again and were disappointed. The curry was dark, and soupy. The naan was not at all the same. The chicken was thin with very little actual chicken. Super spicy despite a low level. Don't come here expecting the same as the original. The staff was amazing though. Very attentive.

Google
This is your Tokyo portal when you need that feel good vibe and have cravings for that “oh so good and delicious” curry! From the moment I stepped in and was instantly greeted as if being in Japan, this experience did not disappoint. The curry can be ordered from zero to 20. I went with a 4 which was still spicy that I had a forehead with sweat beads and a runny nose. Be sure to take heed with the heat here b/c it is serious! Prices are reasonable and in line with the local Frisco market. Definitely will be back!

Google
Food is not bad but definitely doesn't taste like Japanese. More catered to American taste. The curry is on the watery side compared to those in Japan. Service was good.

Finally made it out to this location! I drove 4 hours just to eat here, it’s still the best tasting food in my opinion. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seating but service was good and food was on point! If you’re a service member that was stationed in Japan you’ll love the CoCo’s authentic taste!

Yelp
Great food as always! Very attentive staff. We were able to join the waitlist on yelp and by the time we got there our table was ready, on Valentine's Day! Very lively atmosphere. The seating and walkways are a bit tight. Just something to be aware of if you need mobility aid or have a stroller.

Yelp
I thought it was ok!! I liked how they have such a big range for spice as i loove spicy food. I did think the pricing was a bit much bc i got the chicken cutlet curry ($13.99). It did taste ok!! But its quite literally just curry and a singular chicken cutlet - which makes sense LOL but i do like potatoes and other veg like onions or something in my curry which i wouldve gotten but it costed another $3-4 just to add the veg which was a biiit much imo. To me it did kind of taste like when you cook the cubed japanese curry from hmart :") but i would recommend when youre craving curry and looking for a quick bite! Maybe i just need to try a different dish from here but overall service was quick and friendly!

Yelp
Oh my word!! Sunday after church, some friends invited us to lunch. I am so grateful that they LOVE us like they do, because I would have never known this place exists! Coco Ichibanya is a popular Japanese Curry House chain that has made its way to the U.S. Everything is beautifully laid out, with warm honey toned wood furnishings. There's even a window that allows you to watch the magic take place! The staff were young and vibrant. Eager to answer questions and get your experience rolling! Specializing in Japanese style curry rice, Coco offers all things curry. With over 40 options of curry, chicken(cutlet, stewed, fried, teriyaki) beef, pork, seafood, vegetable, Omelets, the list goes on and on. 20 different spice levels, Udon, there is literally something for everybody! I had the Keema Omelet. Sweet, spicy(I got a level 2, since I was new to the game) curry, with vegetables and minced chicken and rice covered with a tornado egg omelet. It was absolute BLISS! The flavors were so well balanced and the portion size was just right! Piping hot, you couldn't ask for a better curry. Aundre-Chan had the traditional Chicken Cutlet and wiped the plate CLEAN!! BABY, we talked about this curry for the rest of the day! It was that good! Michael and Diana, THANK YOU for bringing Coco Ichibanya into our lives! Go early, the waiting list gets long quick! Check It Out!

Yelp
Solid place for lunch. I've visited frequently with my colleagues from work and even brought my family here. Here's what I get: - I usually get the chicken cutlets omelet curry but replace the chicken cutlet with spicy teriyaki fried chicken. Spice level 4. Usually pretty spicy. Not as spicy today though. - Garlic naan with cheese Service is usually quick. Would highly recommend getting on the list on Yelp beforehand because it's a relatively small place with limited number of seating.

Yelp
This is the spot for a cozy/comfort meal. Warm curry poured over a crispy katsu and rice. Staff is very attentive and kind. You can customize pretty much all aspects of your meal if you're feeling hungry or in the mood for something spicy.

Yelp
What a great introduction to Japanese curry and rice. Our food was delicious and came out quickly. Careful with spice, I ordered a 6 and it was up there. My party ordered level 4 and that was good for them. We ordered fish cutlet, garlic shrimp, cheese naan and omelette with asparagus/tomato.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow, I have been putting this place off ever since it opened because the dishes looked too "simple" in my opinion. However, now that I've tried it I cannot stop eating it! I've ordered from here 3 times within the last 2 weeks. The flavors are amazing. It's a little pricey, but this is REALLY good Japanese curry. Love the pork cutlet, veggie croquette, the pickled veggies and I've tried the curry at mild and level 1 so far. It is a MUST try.

Yelp
I love Japanese curry so I was pretty excited to find this place. Sadly I was disappointed by the limited and weird menu (naan at a Japanese place?) and what I feel are higher prices. The omelette curry only comes with curry, rice and omelette, egg only, no fillers. You can add a protein and extra toppings at added cost. The curry & food was not bad. I ordered takeout/delivery so can't speak towards their service and ambiance. Japanese what got so knocking them to 3 stars for that. If you have a hankering for curry and are ok with the somewhat higher prices this is not a bad spot. Edited Review notes: The management response to my initial review is correct in that delivery is different from takeout and I neglected to consider that they up the prices. So I removed all references to specific prices. That said I still feel it's overpriced for what I got and the menu is basic for my personal tastes. I understand it's a chain so that's their thing which is fair, just not for me :)

Yelp
Love love love CoCo's! Best curry around! Super fast and tasty all the time. Got the pork curry and it never disappoints!

Yelp
I'm such a big fan of Japanese food & my Japanese Curry experience only began a year ago, with this restaurant, in San Diego. Trying it again here in Texas & being so warmly satisfied, is exactly what I was hoping for! Normally, I'm craving chicken cutlet for my curry, but on this rainy day, meatball was an instant choice. I requested an omelette on top, because how could you not? This is such a comforting dish & the quality is fantastic. I also love that the portion is large enough to have half later, if you wish. The staff was very attentive & polite, I'm glad that is consistent with the previous location I've visited. Spacious seating & cordial greetings also make the experience an easy choice here.

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't try this place sooner! It's so good. It's curry everything! Very fast paced. As soon as you are seated, they are ready to order and you get your food fairly quick. We ordered the fish cutlet curry, chicken cutlet curry with egg over rice, and naan. It's set up like a Japanese ramen shop you'd see in the anime's, a little mezzanine and some tables for seating. Great for small and large groups. I want to come back and try some other dishes. Till then, let's eat!
google avatar

Katarina S.

Yelp
Definitely worth a try if you've never been to this chain and worth a stop if you've been and want to try again. It is more expensive than if you would buy it at a Japan store, but don't compare Japan prices to US prices. It's unfortunately more expensive here. The plate of food was pretty big but I was only able to eat half and it came out to like $21 ish. The food was good and I enjoyed it. The curry is milder, but that's how Japanese curry is in general. I got the combo omelet with pork katsu and a side of sausage with spicy level 4 (aka 6x). It was a slight kick of spicy and overall the flavors were good. I'd come back again for sure. The lines and wait aren't as painful as before so no excuses and come try it!

Yelp
I was very impressed with this small restaurant! Although they get busy, we got our table in less than 10 minutes after we put our name on the waitlist. The service was really nice and fast. Although the curry may look simple with just rice, curry, and meat topping, do not be fooled. The food is delicious!!! I ordered the thin sliced beef regular curry. The curry sauce tasted savory with a little spicy kick, which I like. The thin slice beef was really tender pairing well with cooked onion. For almost a $14 curry, the price is worth it because the portion of the food is huge! I finished everything! Next time, when I come back, I will definitely pay extra for the rice because I like to have a huge portion of rice with curry sauce every time I make them at home.

Yelp
Great curry experience. Service was prompt and efficient, and the establishment was clean and accommodating. We went with Japanese locals who told us that this place was good back where they're from. We couldn't agree more.

Yelp
My husband ordered Curry udon with regular spice level sauce but it was pretty spicy. Inside of store is very clean and bright. Staff are very friendly

Yelp
I visited around 3:30 for a late lunch and found the place pretty empty. The service was impressively quick and attentive; my customized order, which included specific spice levels and components, was promptly prepared and served within 5 minutes. It's clear this spot has a loyal following, with staff engaging warmly with regulars. The food was delicious and hearty, tailored exactly to my preferences. A great choice if you appreciate being able to fine-tune your meal to your liking.

Yelp
Super excited to see more Japanese curry options in DFW! The restaurant itself is super cute and bright. Staff is super attentive and nice. It's really great that you can customize the spice level on each curry you order. I got a level 4 spice and handled it with a breeze. I would recommend getting regular spice if you can't handle spice well but still want a small kick. I loved the udon curry, the texture was perfect. A great simple curry restaurant!

Yelp
My family and I have been coming to Coco Ichibanya for years in California and we're so excited when we heard that there was going to be one in Frisco. This is the first and only location in Texas! My husband and I came in around 3pm and there was no wait. We were promptly greeted, welcomed in and seated within seconds of us walking in. There were 5 other parties dining in at the same time as us. The inside of the restaurant is very bright and everything was very clean. The service was so quick too and everyone working was very attentive. We ordered a garlic naan to share. For entrees, I got the fried chicken curry with no spice (mild) and my husband got the chicken cutlet with omelette (regular spice). This was his first time dining at this restaurant and gave it a 5 star review! There isn't much of a difference in spice between mild and regular spice. We both enjoyed our meals and hope to come back again soon!

Yelp
3.5 stars rounding down (saw this chain restaurant in Japan but didn't get to try it there) It can be a bit of a wait so I'd say to come here early , it was 30-40min min around 1pm Menu offers variety of curry rice plates, curry udon, and omurice Me and SO's dish -- Veggie Curry and Curry Udon with Karaage, we both felt was pretty average and that the curry was a bit on the bland side Our friends enjoyed their Omurice and Curry Udon Tonkatsu though Skip
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
Everything here was super tasty and the service was quick and attentive! My husband and I ordered the chicken cutlet omelet, pork cutlet omelet, and the naan keema and got it level 4 spicy after reading all the reviews how anything beyond that is way too spicy. Everything was really good! The cutlets were crispy and very good when dipped in the curry. The naan keema, however, was our favorite out of the two. The flavors had more of an Indian curry flavor compared to the Japanese curry flavor, and had more heat. Would definitely order this again with a cutlet on the side next time. Overall, definitely excited to have a location near us so we can frequent often.
google avatar

Yelp
My friends took me here for dinner. It's been years since I've had Japanese curry. They had a huge selection! I ended up with a combo of omelette curry with chicken cutlet and vegetables. They also have a wide range of spice levels. One of us chose level 15. (He said he can do more. Keep in mind, the higher the spice level, the extra the cost.) The rest of us are mild. The dishes are really filling and will keep you warm and full! The place is very busy so you def want to check online and get on the waiting list. We were on there for about 15 mins on a Saturday night of a three day holiday weekend. The staff were quick and attentive. They brought us a baby high chair and a small tray of utensils with extra napkins. Even though it was packed, the place was clean and not crazy loud. I would come here again with my family next time I visit Dallas. Parking is free and in front of the restaurant.

Yelp
The last time I had Coco's curry was when I was in Japan 7 years ago. Ever since I had it then, I've been craving for another taste. I was so excited to find out they had opened a location in the DFW area and HAD to come in for a bite. I stopped by for lunch today and we were seated immediately. The place itself is well decorated and very clean. They include some cute decor related to their founding. After reading through the menu I ended up picking the Chicken Katsu with an Omelette curry. I usually like it spicy but just an FYI for first timers, the spice levels are seriously hot. I went with a 5 and it was super spicy. As I'm writing this review, I'm already craving another bowl and want to go back soon.

Yelp
wow. this place definitely lived up to the hype! from the plentiful menu options, to the granular customizations to your curry and spice levels, this place blew me out of the water. excellent flavor on all items i tried-- i particularly liked the keema cheese fries as well as the omelette chicken curry (which was an omurice with 200g of set-portioned white rice, chicken katsu, and curry). quick note on the spice levels, if you're familiar with buldak cup ramen, a level 6 & 7 are roughly equivalent to the spicy (black packet) ones. with 7+ being closer to 2x spicy. essentially, be aware that anything 6+ is quite hot and even with a relatively good spice tolerance, i kind of wish i went a little lower than the 7 i chose. at level 20, the curry becomes noticeably thicker and certainly not for the faint of heart. overall, i think a spice level of 1-4 is quite comfortable for most people, with a 5 offering a respectable kick! my group ordered a garlic naan and keema fries alongside our main menu items and were surprised to see (south?) indian menu items / indian-inspired menu items on the menu -- definitely adds a lot to the variety and tasted great! although, while i love a good garlic naan i think i'm just used to enjoying that with different types of (indian) curries, so i'd personally opt for other appetizers next time -- but still tasted great! service was great with regular drink refills and helpful staff. the overall ambiance was modern with contemporary bar type seating as well as traditional table seating which i quite enjoyed, paired with modern and stylish decor. despite how busy the restaurant was, i felt attended to and had a great experience service & ambiance wise. i'd recommend reserving a waitlist spot ahead of time online, because we ended up waiting roughly 30 minutes at the door (which wasn't too bad considering that there were some business nearby including a sharetea to hang out at in the meantime). definitely worth the wait, though. in my opinion, this was an instant classic and me as well as my parents whom i brought along with me really enjoyed the food and our time here. glad this spot came to dfw! overall: 9.7/10 taste: 10/10 price: 9.3/10* * each spice level adds a bit to the price and most customizations are an add-on, potentially making the ~$11-16 menu item reach closer to $18-20/person, which is made up for by the quality and quantity, but my sweet spot for a 10/10 price would've been $3-4 less on average honestly, i'm a huge fan of japanese curry, have tried it extensively in the dfw area, seattle area, and new york area, as well as made it myself. this place lived up to the hype imo and i highly recommend coming and trying coco ichibanya, it's the best japanese curry spot i've had, and i was pleasantly surprised!

Yelp
The service here was amazing. The staff are super friendly and kept asking if we were alright and even greeted us as we walked in. The restaurant is super clean and the organization is great. The food was outstanding. I loved the flavors and the curry was really rich and the cutlet moist and crispy. It was also fairly quick and the thai tea was the best I have ever had, a really good tea flavor. I would just say that watch out on the spice level, I had gotten 3 because I typically can handle spice but I was dying so be careful. Otherwise, great place! Will be returning!

Yelp
Always come back here for the curry! It is served so hot, warm, and delicious!! I always go for the chicken cutlet and vegetable curry at level 2 spicy, which gives it a little kick but not too much to be uncomfortable. The spiciness is a building type. The flavors of the curry are so nice and the cutlet is always crunchy! The inside is so beautifully well kept and clean, and the service is so friendly. I've seen the owner here every time and he is always so happy with a smile on his face, and it is so welcoming! Quality of food and service has always been amazing. They even package their to go orders so nicely!!! My go to curry place!
google avatar

Jared P.

Yelp
Really good food--definitely tastes exactly the same as the locations in Japan. I will warn you mustn't underestimate the spice levels... I consider myself a spice guy, and level 2 was a bit out of my comfort zone; definitely spicier than the level 2 in Japan. Some poor lady next to me was recommended to order a level 14.... Bless her soul
google avatar

Yelp
Sooooo happy to have this here! My first experience was in Okinawa, Japan and what a treat to be able to enjoy this again. We got there at a good time because minutes later there was a crowd waiting to be seated. We were greeted in Japanese language and it was so cool. After being seated we ordered our drinks and soon after our entrees for the evening. I decided to get the chicken cutlet level 1....don't judge! . It was the perfect dare level since I don't do spicy foods. It brought back all the memories of my days in Okinawa! I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
This place has great food but the interior/atmosphere really needs some work. It was half full when we came in on Friday for lunch, but the noise level sounded like I was at a fully packed bar. The sound inside has this super echo effect - they really need to look into dampening it. No one could hear each other so everyone had to speak really loud which made it worse. The waiter couldn't even hear my order and I had to yell. Aside from that, the food had a lot of variety and was pretty good. They serve Japanese curries with your choice of carbs - rice, naan, udon. I've had the udon before which was alright. This time I wanted to their omu-rice curry so I ordered the vegetable omu-rice curry and added corn and stewed chicken. Normally you get to choose how much carbs you want, but the omu-rice curry locks the rice in at 200g per plate. For the spice level, I chose 10 - 1 is like mild, 5 is like normal every day spicy, 10 has a kick, and 25+ is "I want a challenge and don't care about how it tastes". The food came out within 5 mins. The omu-rice curry was great, totally loved it. It was spicy and steam hot, pretty tasty overall.
google avatar

Matthew W.

Yelp
Best curry in DFW by far! I really like how you can get your curry extra spicy. Do yourself a favor and get double chicken katsu with cheese omelet level 7. You'll thank me later. It is so good and is my go-to. You also can't go wrong with their fresh Thai tea or watermelon juice to complement your meal. In terms of service, it is also great with each staff member knowing what to order off the menu. The restaurant also gives you that nice lightning and homey feel. What kind of freaks me out about this spot is that the curry is quite addicting. I have found myself craving it on random weekends, especially on colder days. A pro tip is if you're coming in between Friday and Sunday, make sure to waitlist on Yelp. I have been quite a few times and have seen a line out the door. It doesn't look like this spot will get less popular anytime soon.

Yelp
Here's the rub. First, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet despite coming here a few times after the long awaited opening after Covid. Second, despite what I want to say, my partner would be upset if I didn't give Coco's a great rating (he would give 6 stars if possible) because all I heard for years was stories about his previous CoCo's when he was in the Marine Corp overseas in Okinawa. But even without his persuasion, I can say that Coco's is really tasty. My ONLY gripe is the price. I try not to include pricing into my ratings tooooo much, but I will say that the pricing seems a little wacky. And if anyone knows me, knows I love spicy foods so just glancing at their weird range of 1-20 spice, I knew I wanted to try the spiciest. But it's like an extra buck for levels 5-10, $1.50 for level 15, and then $2 for level 20. It's hard to explain the annoyance I feel when I'm charged for heat in a dish. I get the ultra crazy spice challenges where you sign waivers and such or when restaurants charge more for a secret spicy salsa they made from scratch, but these dishes here aren't that. This, from the looks of it, is all measured out precisely of certain amounts of spicy powder. Not so long story short, I couldn't bring myself to spend $2 full dollars on level 20 so I shelled out the $1.50 for level 15 and my diagnosis is that it wasn't nearly spicy enough to charge customers extra for it. Maybe when I get that pay raise, I'll try level 20 and report back. Anywho...Curry is great and I always get the pork cutlet with omlette curry because I'm a fatty. The food is always comforting.

Yelp
This place has become a STAPLE in our family! I can't believe I haven't written this review earlier....We absolutely looooove it here. The staff is always so welcoming and sweet, it's clean, the food comes to you fairly quickly, it's fairly quiet, and it's such an underrated establishment. The food is excellent, we have tried multiple different things and have always left with FULL bellies and smiles. The portions are hearty, and I really can't say enough about this place and if I could take a bath in their curry sauce....I would. 10/10!!!! I always order the 'Regular' spice - anything above is pretty spicy so for your first time I really suggest just sitting back and trying the 'Regular' spice to try it out. Then level it up for a kick!!!
google avatar

Anthony T.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place out since coming from Japan. The restaurant is aesthetically decorated and clean. The staff is very friendly and attentive. If you like your food spicy, level 4-5 should be a good enough spice level for your taste buds as it is pretty spicy. Everything came out hot and nicely plated. They've definitely met the expectation of craving for Japanese curry. Would definitely come back here again!
google avatar

D T.

Yelp
Great service. Very cleanly kept dining area. Toppings and curry is on point. The only Coco in this area of the country!
google avatar

Sunny C.

Yelp
We waited for the crowds to die down and finally came to try their famous katsu and curry! The wait was about 5 minutes long and check-in kiosk is outside. We got the cream and mushroom curry along with the chicken katsu udon. Curry was definitely unique-- something you aren't used to! It was very good for something different. The level 4 spice level was just right for us. It definitely gave it a good kick. The baked keema fries were okay but a little bland. I would not order that again and stick with curry. Overall, a great experience!
google avatar

Chad J.

Yelp
Now that the crowds have settled down I went for lunch. I had the Fried Chicken Curry, spice level 5. First of all this place has an awesome picture menu so you can see what you are getting, but they do something I have never seen before. They charge you $0.20 extra for EVERY Spice level you go up, not saying it's bad just have never ever seen that. Fried Chicken Curry was amazing, spice level 5/10 was not too spicy. Chicken was fried perfectly, however on its own it was lacking flavor but when mixed in the curry sauce it was perfect. Definitely better than Indian Curry in my opinion.
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
Amazing curry with good portions. I suggest adding veggies to the curry for more flavor and texture.

Yelp
I came about 2 months ago and just not got to write my review. My overall takeaway was the the food and ambiance was good but it was slightly overpriced in my opinion. All of the curry we had had really nice flavor and the omurice was nicely cooked. The Katsu was on the dry side but I've had worse. Nothing really blew me away but nothing was necessarily bad. Service was good and fast. We had no problems with the waiter and the owner came to make sure everything was good several times. I would recommend giving this place a try but I personally wouldn't come back unless a friend is really craving it.

Yelp
Solid service and ambiance. The whole place was quite pleasantly air conditioned and they had nice and clean bathrooms. The ice water that was served was clean tasting and pleasant. I ordered the pork cutlet omelet curry with spinach topping with level 3 spiciness and it was great. The pork cutlet was crispy and flavorful, the omelet was cooked perfectly and the curry with level 3 spiciness was exactly right for my taste. Their prices was a little on the high side, but the quality of the food was excellent. I highly recommend this place to any Japanese curry lover.

Yelp
Glad to see this chain arrive in North Texas. It's a staple in Japan and many other Asian countries. The prices in the states is recognizably higher than Tokyo, nearly twice the cost for the same dishes. However, it is definitely a worthwhile place to visit for a great bowl of curry and cutlet. It's situated just south of the 99 Ranch Market in the plaza across from it. Pork Cutlet Omelet - The dish is delicious and exactly what's expected of from a solid Japanese style curry. Spice levels at either 2 or 4 don't seem to differ too much to me, but I'd definitely recommend adding the spice. It's fair to note that their is an upcharge depending on how spicy you want to make it capping out at x12 or higher at $1.00. The pork cutlet here was properly prepared, wasn't too thick nor too thin and in my opinion wasn't dry. Vegetables & Chicken Cutlet - This combination is a nice to have for those that want to feel somewhat healthy with added veggies in their meal. The vegetables weren't anything spectacular nor disappointing. They were exactly how one would expect vegetables cooked in curry to be. The veggies in the curry were good, not overly cooked or radically undercooked. Chicken cutlet was good too, but the pork seemed to edge this one out due to the flavor, chew, and not being as dry. Though you wouldn't notice the dryness all that much since you'll likely be eating it with the curry. Overall, the food here is as expected. Very tasty and just what you'd want from a good cutlet and curry. The prices are a bit higher than what seems fair and reasonable for curry, rice, and a cutlet when compared to other local establishments offering the same dish, but still worth the trip if you want a good meal. The staff here are great and attentive.

Yelp
We had to wait about 45minutes to be seated and I would not come back if I had to wait that long each time. The place is pretty small and the tables feel too close to each other. There's not even much room for servers to be going around freely. Their menu looked good and the price was fair. However, the curry was very watery and it's an additional charge for veggies or other kinds of curry. I guess that's reasonable but we expected it to be more original and have vegetables by default and maybe charge for protein. The katsu was also just okay. It was dry. I think the rice to curry and katsu ratio was a little off. There was too much rice and too little curry. If you want a cute little Japanese spot to try, I would still recommend. Service was friendly.

Yelp
Solid Japanese curry chain! Got the Omurice with the katsu pork, and the flavor was delicious. Just the right amount of sauce and rice. I do wish the egg omelette part was a little thicker though, it was a paper thin sheet of egg over my rice. It's bright and spacious in here, and wait times were not super long. I did feel like there's a lot of staff here, all a little bit confused and floating around. Kind of odd, but I guess at least they're not understaffed. If I'm back in the area, I'd eat this again!

Yelp
Food: Garlic fries were good. My brother ordered the chicken omelette curry and I ordered the vegetable omelette curry. The curry was alright-It tasted like normal Japanese curry. It's good, but nothing amazed us. Service: Service was great! The guy who took our order recommended level 8 spice for me, but I got the level 6 and regretted it. Next time, I will definitely get level 8! Ambiance: It's very trendy. Small store with tables very close to each other. Not really socially comfortable as you are super close to others.

Yelp
So glad CoCo Ichibanya opened in Frisco. I've missed good Japanese curry with katsu. Building up my spice rating tolerance but you can request mild to 20. I'd like to meet the person who can take in a 20 spice level. We've been to CoCo Ichibanya twice in the last week - I think it's been added to our short list. Yum!

Yelp
Been waiting for the crowd to die down. Came here on a Monday evening and it was still pretty busy. I ordered the chicken cutlet omelette. Dish was good overall. I like that the curry flavor and smell wasn't overpowering. The chicken could be a little juicer and use a pinch more salt.

Yelp
Order online to save time. The curry taste just like when I was stationed in Japan, however the chicken cutlet taste really dry. Looks clean and smells so good. The food online order was delayed twice totaling 20 minutes. They even have a tracker for your order.

Yelp
I've been here a few times & each time there's no wait if you get there before noon. My go-to is the level 2 stewed curry chicken with added vegetables (which includes potatoes, carrots, green beans), spinach & depending on my mood, a hard boiled egg. Food comes out quickly, which is nice if you're on a limited lunch break. Both the food & service are solid & I always leave feeling satisfied & knowing that I'll be back.

Yelp
HURRY & try the CURRY! Get excited, cause this chain FINALLY branched outside of Japan & California and recently opened in Frisco, Texas - saw lots of diverse customers come enjoy the taste of good quality Japanese curry! I tried their signature chicken katsu curry with vegetables to-go - loved it so much, brought my whole fam of four to try it out the next day! My top pick? The signature pork katsu curry and vegetables, crispy katsu goodness, rich and flavorful curry! Cream and mushroom curry of course was creamier, sprinkled with long mushrooms, but I prefer the classic flavor more. I did like the cute omelette that enveloped the rice. Pork katsu salad is kinda small like a side salad, good for if you wanna eat light. Ask for dressing, they'll give you the whole bottle. Keema, the minced meat/ground beef flavor was my least favorite. Rice texture is just right to compliment the curry, not too sticky, not too firm. I like how the water came in a nice thick glass with stem. Here, mild = no spice. Regular = mild spice (I even forgot I ordered spicy). Any additional spice levels is an increase of 20 cents increment. Restaurant is medium sized and brightly lit, ideal for parties of 2-4. Came right after they opened at 11 AM, thankfully got seated right away cause the place got PACKED with a line around noon. Service is top-notch and adequately staffed, had about 3-4 different attentive staff constantly check up on us to help refill water, take orders, and bring food. Shout-out to their kind and considerate manager too! I appreciate him being so engaging and accommodating with all the customers... giving warm greetings, educating us on the menu, helping take orders, cleaning tables.. ensuring my comfort while waiting for my to-go order. Thank you! I'll be back to try their curry udon soon!

Yelp
Deliciously equals the same Coco's experience found in Japan! Always a favorite with expats, locals, and not insignificantly, US service members.

Yelp
This is my first time at this restaurant and it had a very strong curry smell so I wanted to try it!! Ambiance: There is a low music level and loud talking level. There is bright lighting and it is a small place yet the wait time was not too long. There are tables/chairs and a solo seating facing the kitchen. Although, the silverware was dirty and had dried rice on it.... Service: The server was rude. She gave me attitude even though I was being polite and just asked if I can put my name down on the waitlist. She also hardly refilled our water which was awful because the curry was spicy and we needed water. Chicken cutlet curry: The curry was mediocre. It was way too watery for my liking but it had an okay spice level and flavor. The chicken cutlet was had little flavor but it wasn't terrible. Although, the chicken cutlet was too small! Overall, the curry was okay but there was too much of a watery taste. Overall, the food was mediocre and the service was awful! It truly doesn't feel good to get treated poorly up until you are about to pay for the service.
