Coco Restaurant Opens in the Miami Design District | Eater Miami

"Inspired by Coco Chanel, I found the new restaurant in the Miami Design District offers a modern take on the glam Art Deco era under executive chef Jose Diaz. The menu starts with seasonal oysters with chipotle mignonette, ginger‑lime relish and cocktail sauce; a pomme de terre millefeuille of thin potato layers with dill crème fraîche and caviar; or a selection of Osteria caviar. Pasta highlights include Maine lobster strozzapreti with sautéed garlic and young leeks and tagliatelle “à la Coco” in aged Parmesan cream with the option to add 8 grams of caviar or winter truffles; larger mains include a 14 oz NY strip, sea bass and Australian lamb, and there’s a 40‑ounce gold wagyu topped with a 24‑karat gold leaf priced at $875. The cocktail program features the Mademoiselle COCO (yuzu liqueur, shiso‑infused gin, dragon fruit, pineapple syrup, lemon and sparkling wine), the Alter Ego Margarita (Don Julio Reposado, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, Thai chili, tangerine syrup and lime) and the COCO Martini (Ketel One, sweet vermouth, cream of coconut and Szechuan peppercorn). The 2,800‑square‑foot dining room seats 156 with a handful of bar seats and is finished with marble floors, bespoke crystal chandeliers, pearl garlands, marble tabletops and illuminated agate sculptures; nightly live entertainment ranges from bands and dancers to DJs and singers, and a unique sound system allows guests to control the volume in their individual seating area. Coco is now open at 8 NE 41st Street in the Miami Design District for dinner Wednesday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.; for more information call 305-603-9145." - Olee Fowler

Coco is the best hip hop nightclub in Miami! They play amazing music and have a great vibe. My friends and I came on a Saturday when Kodak black was performing and we had an amazing time. Will definitely be back 10/10

Place is very racists, I was invited by a promoter who told us to be there at a certain time when I arrived he stated he was waiting on some other girls to arrive so he could walk us all in at the same time then a hour went by & I was still outside waiting to get in, but everybody else was getting in with no issues. How does a business advertise and promote black artists all over social media, but don’t allow blacks to enter the establishment? Absolutely weird. This place is definitely a joke, after reading some of these results about this place being racists & colorist it’s definitely true. It’s disgusting to run a business like this. Now I’m glad I didn’t go in, I wouldn’t give this place a penny from me. Save your money & go somewhere else!

Horrible experience. My friend and I were using the women’s rest room very crowded at the end of the night so we were just using one stall to keep it more open for other girls when we had some girl on their staff BANG on our stall door like a cop demanding toilet paper? I open the door and she then SHOVED that door open while my friend was still on the toilet peeing and began fist fighting me while a body guard stood there and just watched and let us all fight.. over toilet paper??? Like it was not that serious. I didn’t want to have to hurt that girl like that. She was unrecognizable after my friend and I defended ourselves. Then the bouncer who let us whoop her threw my friend (a black woman) out the back door and let me ( white ) walk out calmly??? Really weird energy here. I didn’t pay $250 to fight a demon in a bathroom stall. The staffing here is horrible.

Before I went to this club I was skeptical about going because im a person of color. But honestly I had an amazing time. The music was lively very good DJ, I saw a celebrity perform & the drinks were coming in! Most bouncers was nice but yall know it’s always them 1 or 2 people. Other than that it was a time, I partied the whole night. Don’t be skeptical people of color, everyone’s experience is different.

If you're looking for an overpriced, classless, night out, Coco might be just your speed. From the moment we arrived, the promoters treated us less like guests and more like inventory, shuffling us around the venue without explanation or care—like pieces of property. The drinks? Prepare yourself: upwards of $30 each, before they tack on a mandatory 25%+ tip & for nothing crafted or out of the ordinary. It’s highway robbery, even for miami. The venue itself? No class, was small like a closet, cheaply decorated resembled a late night strip club in Vegas. The crowd was a disturbing mix of underage girls and working girls, with maybe 5 paying men “clients” leaving the atmosphere feeling predatory than party-ready. And don’t even get me started on the bathrooms—unsanitary but not because of the bathroom attendants work. No soap!? None. It’s honestly baffling how this place is allowed to operate. In all my years going out I’ve never seen anything like it in a bottle service venue. The only redeeming quality of the night was the security staff, who remained professional and composed amid such a classless atmosphere. They were clearly doing their best in an otherwise mismanaged establishment. Coco is a hard pass, I wish I could give it zero stars. There are far better places in Miami to spend your money and your time.

Yelp
I went on the grand opening night! The vibe (5/5) was amazing, great live music and DJ, and the service inside was nice. The man outside letting us in was rude (we didn't have reservations and he said "well it's a restaurant so why don't you have reservations" and was hesitant to let us in even for a drink!). The hosts were extremely nice! The food, I give a 4/5. For appetizers we had the Yellowtail Carpaccio which was yum, and the Pomme De Terre Millefeuille which was okay (the caviar was supposed to elevate this dish but it just didn't...) The Okra King Salmon was surprisingly VERY Yummy! The Mediterranean seabass was lackluster. The side of mushrooms were fine. The drinks unfortunately a 2/5 and that's simply because they were beautiful but not tasty. We got the Mademoiselle Coco, Coco Rum Old Fashioned, and Alter Ego Margarita. All were out of balance and I wouldn't order again. I'd visit again at least once more to try other things and give it an updated review.

Yelp
Extremely upset and disappointed. I traveled to and stayed in South Beach. Arranged the day to make sure I made it back to change and Uber to Miami to make it to my Saturday reservation. While getting dressed up the hostess of the restaurant called and said they had some cancellations and if I could come in earlier. I told her I wouldn't be able to do that. On the ride to the restaurant I got a cancellation notice. I immediately called and didn't get an answer (which you never do). When I arrived the doors were locked and the front desk lights turned off. After knocking on the window and speaking to the manager he had sent the kitchen staff home and offered me a drink as compensation. I had been excited to try this place just to be turned away and told someplace down the road might be open. Without a car and no reservation I ended up not getting to eat dinner on vacation that night. Horrible!

Yelp
Went for a second time and the food was even better. The Dover Sole was outstanding. Cooked perfectly and just the right amount of sauce. My friends all got steaks and truffle fries ( a must!). The vibe is fun. Great music by the talented DJ. Right in the design district! A place to B and B seen!!
