I agree with the last review, FLASH over substance. This is my second time visiting(bad move). I adore the atmosphere;, The lights, the plants, the music. However, the place is empty just like the last time?? I mean the last time was a Thursday night and maybe two or three other tables came in with us, But today there was one other table for lunch. THE FLASH —> That’s how they lure you in, once you sit down, it’s all downhill. It’s completely true that you barely see a server the entire experience. They come over with water and a QR code; you order through your phone and extremely small portions for the price are brought to the table. We (2 adults) ordered crab fried rice, and shrimp pad Thai. One drink, a 12oz glass filled with ice, of coke ($4 and no refills). After you place your order on your phone, the server brings your food and leaves - never to return. No checking on the meals or asking if you want a refill - just no communication or further interaction. Once you finish your meal, you pay through the app and a 20% gratuity is added…. 20%?????? Virtually no interaction, server never said hello, never told us his name, didn’t even tell us how to order. I just saw the QR code pointed and he shook his head yes. At one point, I said “I don’t think he speaks English” to my husband…. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ll never know cause I’m never going back. The atmosphere just is not worth the value. I have to agree with the last reviewer. The food is the same level as Thai takeout, nothing fancy or special. Lunch for two today cost was insane at $75!!!! No alcohol, no appetizers no dessert. However, they do use Polish pottery from the store pottery corner next-door(if you order tea). Now, if you’re in this quaint town and you wanna visit somewhere nice and you like art, Martha at The pottery corner is a sweetheart. Her Polish pottery inventory is stunning and she takes the time to tell you all about it. It’s really worth a look and at least a 15 minute walk-through this store. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised and end up staying 30 to an hour. As far as Coco Thai - BUYER BEWARE!!!! Seriously, try the tavern or the restaurant on the corner or even the pizza place - I’m sure any will be better. If you’re really craving Thai food drive the 30 minutes into Philly and find some place with more value. You’ll be really disappointed if you eat here. I will not be going back. Frankly, I don’t know how they stay in business??

I've been to this restaurant three times in the last year and while the food is good and the plants and lights in the restaurant are pretty, the service is severely lacking. The man who works upstairs and is the "host" is not welcoming at all. My wife and I came to this restaurant on a Tuesday night around 7:15 PM and upon walking upstairs we were swiftly told they were closing at 8:00 PM (which we knew). We immediately felt like we had to rush through our meal. I wasn't a fan of the QR code menu system from our first visit but was thankful for it this night so I did not have to interact with the host. Earlier this week on a Sunday night, knowing we were were coming with 4 adults and 2 children (3 years old and 6 months old), I called ahead at 6:00 PM to make sure we would be able to get seated around 6:30. I was told that would be no problem and there were not many people in the restaurant. When we arrived upstairs, we were told that we could sit, but we wouldn't get food for maybe an hour or so since so may people just walked in. Upon closer observation to the people around, I noticed more than half of them already had their food and there were maybe 5 other parties in total. The host again, was not welcoming, apologetic and didn't care that I had called earlier and gave us no other option than to leave. Once we left, I deiced I would call to place a hypothetical take out order...I was told it would take about 25-30 minutes. I will not go back here, there are other great Thai places in our area. Save yourself a trip and go to Manorah Thai in Bryn Mawr or Delish Thai in Wynnewood.

This restaurant is absolutely divine. You’re greeted warmly from the very moment you step inside this gem for Thai food lovers. Love the lush plants that outfit the space from top to bottom. And I didn’t spot a single gnat! Sadly the plants aren’t for sale, but they should reconsider that. The restroom is also beautifully decorated and cleaned. I ordered the shrimp dumplings, pan seared striped bass and Thai iced tea and devoured everything. Great for a solo lunch, date or weekend meal with friends or family. I can’t wait to go back!

Always fresh food, lovely service. Everytime I try something different from the menu, I find another favorite. Top picks include steamed vegetable dumplings, narberth jungle, Thai basil and panang curry. My husband can't get enough of the drunken noodles. We highly recommend Coco Thai Bistro.

Atmosphere: really, really cool. Love the plants. We went at a quiet hour and it was like sitting in a jungle. However, the room was very cold. Bring a light jacket. Food: very tasty and well presented. Wide choice of spice level on everything. However, it was pricey. Service: the people we interacted with were friendly, but there wasn't much interaction. We were left to a table and given water then left alone. There is a QR code on the table to scan. Unlike most places though, it's not just a viewing menu - you order from the link on your phone as well. Very unusual. They bring your food and don't check up on you until it's time to pay. The automatic 20% gratuity fee doesn't make sense either since there's really no table service. Overall: good but expensive, very unique atmosphere that's worth seeing, and not for people who love the "customer service" aspect of dining out. Good for the socially anxious though. It was nice but I'm not sure I'd go back!

Not quite sure why there is a 20% gratuity added to all dine in orders when you don’t even interact with a waiter to place your order. It feels like a scam. Then on the receipt they have a suggested tips breakdown option on top of the 20% gratuity that’s automatically added! If you have a question about a dish before you order, you have to get up and ask the person behind the counter or flag them down while they’re running food to the other tables. Not a good experience at all. I wouldn’t recommend takeout either, the food is not worth it for the price.

Flash over substance. Though very instagramable and aesthetically pleasing to be there, there's not much else to say in favor of Coco Thai Bistro. When entering, it appeared empty of all customers and staff, only after wandering around did I realize I was supposed to go upstairs and find the one person working in the front of house. That was the only human interaction I had from that point forward as I ordered my food via a QR code. The food itself was solid, but certainly not worth the price as it was equivalent to cheap takeout in quality. To my surprise, there is an automatic 20% gratuity added to the already high price. Seeing as gratuity is meant for service and I interacted with no waiter, this frustrated me further.

Very cute restaurant with ambience and great food. So well decorated interiors. The food was also really great. We ordered Thai teas, chicken satay, red curry and pad see ew. However they're short on staff and somewhat expensive. Therefore ordering is all via phone and bar code. Other than that there's not much to complain about this restaurant. If you're passing by the Philly suburbs and craving Thai food, this place won't disappoint you.

This place is so cute. Filled to the brim with plants and string lights. You use a QR code to order everything and the place is BYOB. The veggie spring roll appetizer was small but very tasty. The evil fried rice was super yummy, and both the pad see ew and the drunken noodles were very tasty. The portion sizes on these were massive! Will definitely be coming back!

Authentic Thai food. Everything we ordered were really tasty. Loved the green curry and mango sticky rice. Definitely visit to checkout the interiors. Ambiance - Heaven for someone who loves plants. I always have an amazing time at this place. First of all the restaurant is STUNNING, my pictures cannot do it justice. The plants and fairy lights make it magical in there. You have to see it for yourself. On top of that the staff is SO AMAZING. Very sweet and attentive. Warning the food does take a long time to get ready so be prepared to stay for at least 1.5/2 hours. Reservations are recommended on busy nights (Friday and Saturday) because it is a pretty small restaurant. They do takeout also. The street parking is usually available and free on weekends and at night (I think). Now for the food. We got the pan friend vegetable dumplings and the steamed shrimp dumplings. They were very flavorful. The pad Thai is amazing. With chicken or veggies- both are sooooo good. You get a choice of spicy from 1-6 so they have a level for everyone. I get the 3 medium spicy and it's got a good zing and is very flavorful. We got some drunken noodles to share and it was very saucy and yummy. My friend got the pad se ew and loved it as well. Nothing bad to say about this place. Highly recommend for dinners with friends, coworkers or a date!

They serve us food unfit for human consumption. Really disrespectful. I wish they were taking care of the food like they taking care of their plants. Shame!

I hate to do it but the experience wasn't great. It started when we first entered and there was nobody around. We stood in the doorway awkwardly for some time wondering whether they were open or not. Eventually, somebody did come by and told us to go upstairs for service. Strange but not a big deal. We were seated immediately and looked over the menu. We placed our order through the phone. We did receive the appetizer and drinks pretty quickly. But our one hour parking expired in the time it took for our entrees to arrive. Luckily, the food was amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious and cooked well. I definitely recommend the food. However, the food was way too expensive. My Massaman curry was about $20, but adds an extra $2 for any protein, plus $4 for brown rice. Look at how much brown rice I got in my pictures. That's how much the entire pack of brown rice costs at the supermarket but I get a little bowl of it. The appetizer was $11 but it was such a small serving too. Plus, they automatically add a 20% gratuity and charge you a dollar for every box of takeout. Talk about nickel and diming. The service and price are the reasons I would not recommend this establishment. Which is a darn shame because the food was actually delicious.

i love this place so much there are not words. the restaurant itself has to be one of the. most. beAUTIFUL places i have ever eaten in in my life. staff is very kind and friendly, always eager to help and get you fed! okay now the food......... i have AGAIN NO WORDS this is literally one of the absolute BEST thai places i have been to. NOTHING disappoints ever, EVER! i wish so badly they would open another location in philly (i would spend all of my hardworking $ in there if so) but regardless id drive anywhere for her i feel THAT passionately about coco thai

The food was good and make sure you ask for "No Spice" , not Mild because Mild was Hot to me, and I;m sensitive to it. I find it wrong that they add a 20% gratuity when the order is placed on line with a QR code.

This is literally my favorite restaurant to eat at. Ive been coming here for years even when I moved 1 hour away. Nothing taste as good as Ann's drunken beef noodle. I went to thailand 2022 and still think her food is the best. The beef is so tender it's incomparable.

Good is fantastic. Best Thai food in the area by far. Very expensive. Service is not great, and 20% mandatory tip does not align with the quality/value of the service.

No complaints. We picked up take out as we were wrapping up a travel day and needed a quiet night in. The food was ready promptly, was hot and fresh, and was delicious. Loved the ease of pick up as we paid online and could just grab our bag and go. The atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing, super cute decor and lighting. We will return and dine in.

We have been going to Coco Thai for more than a decade. The food remains fantastic, but now you have to order with a cellphone. This is not a problem for most people, but I do not own a cell phone. It's okay though - my daughter orders for me. The vegetables are always fresh, the food is perfectly seasoned, and the service is prompt. After the pandemic, they started charging extra for everything: a built-in 20% gratuity, a $5 charge for bringing your own wine (my single serving wine usually cost less than that), and a charge for a box to take home your leftovers. Don't misunderstand me - THESE ARE HUGE TURN OFFS!!!! So, it is no surprise that other reviewers have complained about these things and have sworn never to return. Nonetheless, the food is so absolutely fantastic, even sublime, that we are willing to put up with all of this. See Soup Nazi.

I went to coco Thai Bistro for the first time for my friends birthday. The interior is really magical with all the fairy lights and plants hanging from the ceiling and the walls. It definitely was very quiet since it was on a weekday. They even let us bring our own cake and provided utensils for us. When it comes to the food I would say the quality is mid, portions are very small but the price is really expensive. They also add 20% service fee to your receipt.

Excellent food. Cute and stylish. Rude owner. Carefully check your bill. We won't be back. What's up? The owner automatically adds a 20% tip to all dine in meals. Since it was a "tip", I refused to pay and that is my right. So I wasted 15 mins of my time arguing with her to remove it. She would not budge and I had to politely but firmly tell her to take it off the bill. She then loudly announced to all customers that I wasn't paying any tip and I was never to come back. WTF? If she wants to enforce customers paying for service, then call it a "service fee" and state that cost clearly on the menu. Or increase her menu costs by 20% and print "tipping is not necessary." It was a sad way to end the evening. My family had a nice meal outside. But we won't be back for quite some time to her restaurant. For the record, I left a $20 for our server who was caught in the crossfire over tipping.

The best Thai food I've had around the area (Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Wynnewood, etc). We dined in and, while they have some strange things like charging extra for hot sauce, it's overall quite friendly and good service, and definitely tasty food. There's the added benefit that there's cute outdoor dining and a wine shop down the street.

Food was good but expensive. Owner is super rude and service was all through an app. I asked about 20% tip required and the owner walked away from me saying she was too busy. The staff kept telling me to go upstairs and downstairs to dispute the required tip despite that is ILLEGAL to pick a tip rate for customers to pay.

It used to be soooo good. We've had a lot of disappointments in the past year or so. Missing orders from takeout. Food that wasn't great. Tonight it was a very dry tasteless chicken Pad Thai. The salmon was good though. Hope it gets better. We love a neighborhood option.

This is a beautiful bistro with incredible atmosphere. I highly recommend the coconut soup. Be sure to come directly upstairs for dinning in! The service is wonderful and we will definitely be coming back!

The manager was terrible. They made a mistake with the order and were not willing to fix it despite us kindly asking. The manager was abrupt and rude. I have never left a review but this was outrageously horrible.

Sadly, this place went down hill. The quality of food has fallen off each of the last 3 times we have been here. At this point, I don't expect to return. Instead of taking an order, you order through an App, but they still auto charge 20% gratuity. That would be OK if service after that was good, but it was not. While I love the plant filled environment, it's over the top. A bit too much. And then there is the cost. For the quality off food, it's quite over priced.

Too bad about this place. Eaten here many times. Rooms are pretty but table was a little sticky. Order with the QR code, but there was no description about the dishes. As said by others, waiter brings water, then food. Very impersonal. Of course a 20% tip is included, and bill asked for more. Worst of all, Coco charges $2 for a take out container! So instead of taking food home, I left it to get thrown away.

Used to be a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. That changed during COVID...horrible now. Food is adequate BUT: Takeout- order ahead and get there and wait -sometimes for 30-45 minutes Now they charge a corkage fee of $5 To take home leftovers, there is a $2 charge for containers Wait staff used to be friendly and nice...now they are "doing you a favor" Also -automatic 20% tip is added onto the bill You leave and feel like all they wanted was the "buck" What a change and what a loss

We ordered takeout during quarantine and were extremely pleased! The food was excellent and they have many vegan/plant-based options. We really like that they put all the food in paper/cardboard containers instead of plastic, and the pickup was very easy. The staff was super friendly. Everything we ordered was delicious and we'd order them all again! 1. Spicy mango salad - this wasn't very spicy 2. Pad see ew with tofu - excellent and the noodles were perfectly spiced and sauced. 3. Drunken noodle with tofu - delicious! We liked the pad see ew better than the drunken noodle, but this was still very good. 4. Narberth jungle with tofu 5. Ginger mushroom with tofu 6. Panang curry with tofu (no spice) - delicious 7. Thai red curry with tofu (spice level 2) - delicious and the spice level provided a nice kick that wasn't overkill. I look forward to ordering again!

I had dinner at Coco Thai Bistro a handful of times before their renovation and it used to be my favorite restaurant. It has a quaint atmosphere, and delicious food, and the service used to be decent. This past weekend, I finally found myself back in this little establishment and was shocked to find that the service has been completely eradicated. One of my favorite parts about going out to eat is chit-chatting with my server and I think being waited on makes paying for a meal in a restaurant worth the price. That being said, it was an outstanding disappointment to have to order my meal through my phone and not be served by anyone. The craziest part was that there was a 20% gratuity fee added to the bill... when no one served us. The food was still delicious and it's still pretty inside but I will NEVER be dining in to eat here again. Super disappointed.

So excellent. I can't begin to say enough good about this restaurant. A few years ago when I first visited I ordered my food "to the sun" which is the hottest level you can order. I finished my plate and the chef came out to shake my hand for eating it. That set the tone for how friendly and tasty and truly firey this food can be. My partner and I had noticed that CoCo was open again after being closed for remodeling and we knew we had to order. Last night came and we ordered so much. We missed it and I gave some food to a neighbor. The pad Thai and the druken noodle, all so delicious. The duck rolls innovative and fun. The summer rolls light and refreshing. The soup, on the spot. I have never had a bad meal. I truly believe all my meals will be excellent and the service will continue to be top notch. I can't wait to come back into the newly remodeled restaurant after all this. Please eat here!

As we age, with any luck, our perception of reality is tempered by our years of experience. Every time I think that the world is not going to hell in a handbasket, I am reminded that that may indeed be a possibility. I like to refuse to give it any power. Today's experience while stopping for lunch at a restaurant was a shared terrible experience. I was indeed a solo diner trying out a new place because my Thai food addiction kicked in. The meal experience was a dichotomy for sure. I walked into a beautiful restaurant where plants adorned the side walls and a large portion of the front window. It was at that time that I told myself that this was going to be a great lunch. I asked to be seated and they told me I had to go upstairs even though there were a small handful of tables available downstairs. I said out loud, "well it better be as beautiful upstairs as it is downstairs", and it was! This is where the experience goes south. I asked what appeared to be a host to be seated and he sent me to a deuce in the middle of this restaurant, instructing me to get out my phone and take a picture of the QR code on the table. I'm quite familiar with this scenario having eaten at a bunch of restaurants, independents and chains alike. For instance, Nando Peri Peri in Annapolis has an ordering system that uses your phone and it seems quite efficient. This experience was anything but. Upon opening the app, there was a page full of tiles with all kinds of information including: Extra charges for all kinds of things, like a corking fee and a takeout container A mandatory 20% gratuity added to every check. The webpage that I was directed to for the purpose of ordering food immediately tried to get me to download the app. A clunky restaurant app for sure. I'm not a big fan of data mining and I was hungry so I skipped all that, and ordered a meal. Everything was up charged and every little addition was an extra fee. The 20% gratuity would lead one to think that it was for service, but there was zero service at this establishment. If the food was bonkers out of this world good that would be one thing, but how can you make Tom Kha Gai with no Galanga? A soup and an entrée and a Thai iced coffee along with the gratuity came out to be a $50 check. For lunch. For one. The couple at the table next to me was having issues as well. I really didn't feel like stuffing my face with a big bowl of noodles and duck. I asked if I could get a takeout container and the host/useless waiter told me that there would be a charge for a takeout container. I told him that he could either give me one for free or he could throw the remainder of my meal out. I am wondering what kind of abuse the owner of this restaurant suffered during her entire life span, or just last week - that would tell them that this business model was going to help their restaurant thrive. I am sure there are many people who are hungry who go to this place and never return. When I told the woman who owned the joint that I thought her protocol for serving people food was the strangest thing I've ever encountered and told her that a 20% gratuity for no service is unconscionable, she asked me what protocol and unconscionable meant. I walked out after she said "I don't care". Well, I wanna thank her for pointing out the painfully obvious reality. I'm not sure if it's the personal beat down that she has experienced in her life, or patrons such as myself and others who call her on the carpet for her ridiculous business model. If you're looking for great Thai food and good service, skip Coco Thai on Haverford Road in Narberth PA. They have neither.

This used to be my favorite local restaurant. It has become unhospitable. You have to order on your phone, the waiters are there solely to bring your food from the kitchen to your table. Cannot ask any questions or make requests. The food is not as good as before and more expensive. On top of that they added a 20% tip onto our bill. We would not have left 20% if anything. I will look for another Thai restaurant.

Three tables in a row arrived with reservations and this restaurant refused to seat any of them. They also refused to take any responsibility for their mistakes, especially considering that we drove out of town to come. Do NOT patronize this place. The owner and staff do not care about their guests. When we explained the situation, they told us "tough luck. Most of our orders are pick-up anyways." I've been here before, and I can say that the restaurant has terrible customer service overall. Servers don't take orders, so you have to order everything from an app on your phone, which takes extremely long. To top it off, all bills come with a 20% gratuity automatically added on. Nobody is bringing you menus or taking your order, so what am I tipping 20% for? After seeing the owner's rude behavior, I'm skeptical that any of the money goes to the actual servers anyways. How could it? If the owner refuses to acknowledge mistakes, refuses to give so much as a voucher for a free drink, she's probably to cheap to pay her employees a decent wage, which explains all of the mess ups. NEVER GO HERE!

The bad service was worse than the mouse running through dining room. We didn't have a waitress- we had to order through the app. There was a $5 corkage fee, $1 for takeaway leftovers, extra for my tofu. I paid $35 for one entree of veggies & tofu. Give me a break! Then the mouse ran thru the restaurant. Then, the waitress clapped her hands and said, "We are closed"!! Are you kidding me? Here's my review: Veggie Lover (x1 @ $18.95) Tofu (x1 ) $3.00 Rice Noodles (x1 @ $3.00) 2 (Medium-Low Spicy) (x1 ) $5.00 Cork Fee (x1 @ $5.00) $26.95 Subtotal: $1.62 Tax: $28.57 TOO EXPENSIVE.

The food is undoubtedly good. But the restaurant lacks professionalism and hospitality. For instance, while dining there, you must use a website to order and pay. There is very little interaction with the server. Yet, they charge a required 20% gratituty. Once when we ordered, they forgot all of the rice to go with our curries. When I called, I figured they'd be apologetic and perhaps run it down to us (we are a few blocks away). They just said we could come back and get it.

I've been eating here for years but this new way of service is absolutely ridiculous. Food was well made but the service is so impersonal. You order your food via the app from your table. The waiter only job is to bring you water. You pay online and select your food from pictures and buttons. There is basically no human contact. Your table is numbered along with a QR menu. There isn't really anyone to ask questions too regarding the menu. The ambience is beautiful but is not enough. They need to go back their essence of good hospitality and add the human touch back into the service.

Food is good but service leaves much to be desired. There appears to be just 1 server for all tables. Parts of the order are forgotten despite ordering by app, water is not refreshed, satay is stone cold and it's difficult to find your server to do anything about it. However a 20% tip is automatically added. Ambience is nice and food is good but would not recommend dine in. Prices are high compared to other Thai restaurants as well.

It was really expensive and very bad food. I just got takeout summer rolls, because the other place was on vacation and my kids love summer rolls. menu online wouldn't download and I was on time crunch so I just asked for them not knowing how much they were -- shocked that one order of summer rolls was $15. I tried to revise order once I realized how much they were and they said no, too late. Took forever waiting for them. And they were horrible! no noodles, and a whole lot of onion -- really awful. My kids wouldn't eat them so I was stuck plowing through them. Dipping sauce was balsamic salad dressing! the least authentic thing you could imagine. It seemed like a nice place to sit and might be much better for eat in, idk, but for take out, I would definitely not recommend. I was so baffled by these awful, overpriced rolls that I found myself trying to do some internet research to find out if there are any particular Thai traditions for these rolls, but as far as I know, no, these were just weird and bad. Summer rolls, goi cuon, are a Vietnamese dish that is also served in other parts of Asia. Traditionally served with either peanut sauce or chili/lime/fish sauce -- no, there is no tradition of serving it with balsamic salad dressing (!!!!) or including NO rice noodles, NO cilantro, and instead, a whole lot of poorly chopped onion and hunks of random salad ingredients (and then charging $15 a pop). I'd much prefer that they just don't serve summer rolls -- you don't have to! it's fine! -- rather than this really bad experience. Also fwiw: very long wait for take out (when I'd ordered only the rolls). There was only one pair of lunch customers, and a lot of staff, and yet it took a really really long time. Overall, not a place I'll return to.

The food is good and the ambiance is lovely, although the greenery is a bit over the top. I would love to give five stars but can't get over the nerve of charging an automatic 20%, which alone is galling, but as others have pointed out, that's for practically no service at all. The ordering is through an app and all they do is drop the food off at the table. To top it off, we were charged an additional $5 for them to bring wine glasses to the table for the bottle we brought ourselves. So, apparently, a 20% tip doesn't even include that service. Don't think we'll be back. Bottom line, good food that left a bad taste in our mouths.

I've been here several times and it is always a great experience. BEAUTIFUL atmosphere with tons of greenery. Great service too. You order on your phone and tip is included. A lot of options even for picky eaters. They used to have amazing beef skewers that I would love for them to bring back!!!

Went in and is so pretty. The woman would not let me order in person, unless I was going to pay cash so I had me scan a code which I found weird. But it ended up being a lifesaver. The prices are way above the norm but I was shocked that too have anything but vegetables they add a ton. I am Talking 10 bucks for extra meat etc. or 2-5 for the initial. Since I was already paying $20 for a simple meals, I decided to click on tofu. Just then a small brown mouse walked about 2 feet from me and I left. So, just to be clear, the woman was not rude, but not friendly, it is completely overpriced, and the fact that there was a mouse means I definitely will never be eating there.

I ordered online a dish that I asked to be 1-Mildly Spicy, the 2nd of 7 levels. The dish was quite spicy, and when I returned to tell them about it the following day, I was told it was my fault, I should have ordered it "Non-spicy." Later in the day I got this text from them, telling me not to return to their restaurant. "Hello, this is Coco Thai Bistro. We are messaging you because there was an incident regarding your order. A Ginger Mushroom was ordered, and a Spicy level 1 was requested. We made per your request. It was not the restaurant's fault the dish was spicy. " With that attitude, I SURELY WON'T. The food was very good, but the response was inexcusable. They did agree, however, to refund the cost of the entree.

This was a great Thai Restaurant. I've been a half dozen times. Last night was a huge disappointment. The food remains delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. The waiter did not tell us about the QR code on the table we had to use to order. So we sat and sat waiting for menus. The QR ordering wasn't user friendly. We all had to order separately. It was cumbersome. Plus, resent the corkage fee, the added tip and the lack of human contact in the ordering process. Will not be back unless they go back to the old ways. There are many Thai restaurants in the vicinity that are excellent. And where human beings still interact with other humans.

Made a huge order for our whole office, for a birthday celebration. Everyone was really looking forward to it. I called to check on the pick up, which was scheduled for 15 min from the time of my call- and the man said something like he didn't see our order, and literally put the phone down and didn't return. I could hear them talking and laughing in the background, and then I got a notification that my order was 'declined.' When I tried to call back to see what happened nobody picked up the phone. A coworker called a little later to see if we could still put in our order, and she just got the runaround. Super bad business! We were going to lay out a decent sum to have a nice birthday lunch. Not to mention that it threw our whole timing off and kind of ruined it. I guess they don't care about making money or happy customers.

Seldom have I been so disappointed with a restaurant as I was with Coco Thai in Narberth. It had been featured on a local TV network and clientele on the program were raving about the food. I love Thai food so I knew I would one day try out this eatery if I were ever in the neighborhood. Narberth has a wonderful town center and Coco Thai fits in very well. And I have to give kudos for how attractive this spot is with all the plants and greenery. I had hopes. But from the beginning things started to go awry. My phone didn't pick up the menu app. The paper menu I was given I was told had all the wrong prices and when I looked at the online menu, it turned out that those prices were wrong too. Come on - it's 2021 put the correct menu on-line. There was a mix up with the kitchen so my order took a very long time to arrive. When it did, the Thai mango salad was nothing to write home about at all. It had a few slivers of green mango to merit the 'mango' moniker, was not spicy at all, and totally not worth the final price tag of $10.95. (up from$7.95 shown online). The entree of Panang Tofu Curry was def tastier although again not spicy at all. I asked for some extra hot sauce and received a small dollop of 'mild' chili crisp. This dish was priced at almost $18 for lunch. Indeed for a no-drink lunch topping thirty dollars with the tax added, I expected a lot more. The real saving grace of Coco Thai was the totally personable and earnest young waiter. His charm made me assign one star more than I planned to...

Coco Thai - Narberth. We got the Evil Gaga ( wonder why it is called Evil... it's not especially spicy...) with Shrimp and the Masaman Curry with Duck (Masaman Curry- spices with coconut milk, carrots, broccoli, onion, green beans and bell pepper) I felt incredible full after lunch here. Both extremely delicious Service was great. If Covid safety is important to you then this is the place to go. They require proof of vaccination for inside and outside dining and staff was all masked up. The have the most incredible living plant walls I have ever seen... especially for a small space.... like eating in a rainforest.

I visited friends in Narberth in December, they highly recommended Coco Thai Bistro, so we gave it a try. I had the Panang chicken curry with rice, it was delicious, the best! Miss Evelynita our server was the sweetest girl, food was all fresh and warm, I'll go back for both!

Though surprisingly expensive, the food and experience was a delight. I suppose watering the plants here is a full-time job, so maybe that's why they charge a bit more. Regardless, I'll definitely return to treat myself, and I'm happy to have this place bring me to Narberth. It's a nice little town!

Pre pandemic, I loved this place. It WAS a friendly, cozy and quiet BYO with an uplifting atmosphere. I made reservations to go post pandemic, it was a different experience all together. We arrived to find the only seating was on the second floor, which is not ADA compliant. My walker depended mom wouldn't be able to easily sit. (Strike one.) Then they asked us to use a QR code to access the menu. I don't have or want a QR code thing on my phone and shouldn't have to download an app to order food. Some people (me) have vision issues that make online ordering unpleasant. No paper menu option. (Strike two.) THEN the waitress points out that there's an uncorking fee for your BYO. NOPE. I draw the line at that. (Three strikes.) We were out of there. Additionally, the second floor only seating put us right next to a very loud table in a very cramped spot. When I asked to be seated on the first floor telling them about my mother's disability (not to mention my own issues with stairs,) and the noise level I was told there wasn't a server for the first floor. So, my disabled mother should have to climb the stairs because your staff wont? I was told I should have asked before making the reservations. WHO EVER WOULD ASSUME A RESTAURANT ONLY SERVED ON ITS SECOND FLOOR?!!? When I asked if there was any other option to order, I was told no. As for uncorking fees.... that's ridiculous. IK I may be coming across like an uber-karen... For which I am truly sorry. I'm especially sorry and apologize to the waitress for my bruskness and walking out. The waitress wasn't at fault for anything, and she got stuck with my airing of displeasure. I hope the owners see this review and recognize that they need to make some changes to keep customers. The food is (probably) still wonderful, BUT the place is no longer "user friendly." A real shame.

The most beautiful restaurant you'll ever dine in (if you love plants like me)! Very friendly staff and delicious food.

This used to be my favorite restaurant in the Mainline for 12 years (except the time when they closed to renovate the place). The food has always been amazing. However, I had a reservation for 5 people last week. When we showed up, the waiter told us she couldn't seat us since they were busy. Another waiter showed up, looked at the reservation list, said they couldn't seat us, and walked away without any apology. Our reservation was at 7 so they could have called us to cancel the reservation when they realized there were busy. I read some of their responses on google, and they are writing "Thank you for not coming back" when people complained about their horrendous service. I'm expecting such a rude answer here as well!!

Gone are the good old days of this restaurant. The original owner (who was also the cook) made customers feel like welcome guests, and she prepared wonderful dishes. Now the servers are gruff. "May I sit at that table?" is met with a roll of the eyes and a shrug. After we'd looked at the barcode menu on our phones, we waited 25 minutes for someone to take our order. "Oh, didn't you order on your phones?" the server asked when she finally came. "Haven't you been here before? Well, THIS one time, I'll take the order for you." Customers are nickeled and dimed at every opportunity: extra for using a credit card, extra for a takeout container, extra for brown rice and a corking fee, a 20 percent tip automatically added to the bill. These practices are unfortunately becoming more widespread. But adding fake costs has not, yet that's what our server did. To cap off the dinner, she overcharged us $25 on the bill. When my husband questioned this, she acknowledged the error but made no apology. However, she did refund the money. All this being said, the food was generally good, although the fish was dry.

LOVE the food here. Atmosphere is also wonderful. But HATE how they just decide to close whenever they want. I can't keep track of their ever changing random hours and, more than not, when I want food from here, I can't even get it!! It's sad because it is good. Also, I don't appreciate the attitude given when I am surprised they decide to close at crazy earlier, unstated hours. Such a shame.
