A wonderful award winning chocolatier in North Vancouver. Great exotic and interesting flavors on display. Single cups, gift boxes and specials available. I was happy to find this store on a weekend walk.

Coconama offers some of the most exceptional chocolates I have ever tasted in Vancouver. Their chocolates are crafted with the finest ingredients, resulting in a fresh, rich, and smooth flavor profile. I highly recommend sampling their diverse selection, as each chocolate is uniquely delicious. Furthermore, for those interested in learning the art of chocolate making, I highly suggest their class. The owners, Taka and Kayako, are incredibly knowledgeable and generous in sharing their expertise. Thank you so much Coconam and please continue to create wonderful chocolates to connect chocolate with people!

Simply amazing ; this is a 2 parts review I took class 1 of chocolate workshop. What a fantastic experience. You get to learn about the cocoa bean from its raw form and to turning them into chocolate. You get to try cocoa pulp concentrate. It reminded me of mangosteen - which is very tasty. Kayoko sensei also made cold brew cocoa shell tea. I like it. It's like drinking cocoa flavoured water. Bring something to write some notes if you want to keep it for later on. However, there isn't much that need to draw down. The chocolate making is very hands-on. Suggest you to bring an apron - it may get messy. So, don't wear your fancy night out clothing. Suggest to wear something loose and comfy. Because you will be moving! However, do dress somewhat presentable if you are planning to take some photos 😊. Trust me - you will be attractive looking when you are making the chocolate I came in on a winter day. It's quite chilly inside the room. Do wear extra layer. I'm fortunate enough to have odd number of class that day. I get to challenge the chocolate making process just by myself. While others get to do it in pair. Kayoko Sensei was nice enough to offer me a hand and gave me an electrical blender as a way to cheat 😂. But, I decided to go full manuel. At the end, it's worth it. When it comes to compare and tasting ; I like the other team, Beish chocolate more because I like the fruity note. My, Guatemala, has a smoky note. Now to the part 2 of my review, the chocolates that Coconama sells. They are awesome! I got their recommended popular flavours ; Mango, Earl Grey Tea, Dark Chocolate, Tiramisu. Oh man, even though they are pricy but I think they are worth a try. Every single bite is like a dense, flavourful explosion that melts in your mouth. My personal fav is the earl grey because i think it's the most balance of the four. I don't like chocolate that's too sweet. I thought i would like the dark chocolate, but the earl grey and the other 2 flavours are just more fun All of the chocolates do look and taste like how they describe. They really go it dial down. Im simply amazed... 🤯 Kayoko and the team are super friendly and nice. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask Kayoko sensei! She does speak kind of quietly though, so listen up!

I first encountered a very small selection of Coconama truffles at T&T, purchased a small container on a whim, and was immediately hooked. I've since sought them out at different events and finally made it to the North Van shop more recently. The truffles are exquisite in taste and texture, and there is a great variety of appealing flavours to satisfy all palates. Both owners provide very kind and patient customer service. As a longtime cocoa enthusiast, I'm happy to have discovered such a special local product and look forward to trying more Coconama treats as they offer far more than just the truffles.

North Van hidden GEM! We’ve tried many of the products over the last few years and have enjoyed all of them! Their chocolate bars are always our first choice to buy as gifts, supporting local and we know they are absolutely delicious! The hot chocolate is a must try!

All the chocolates looked super attractive and I ended up getting 2 of the 5-cup sets so I could try 10 different flavours. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave me ice packs since I had to travel a long time before I could get the chocolates refrigerated. My personal favourite was the earl grey dark. Very silky textures. I have food allergies so I really appreciate the nut-free label. Definitely going to visit again!

During my recent visit to the O-Hanami Festival at the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre, I had the pleasure of stopping by the Coconama Chocolate booth. Despite the booth being busy, the staff were welcoming and helpful, allowing me to sample some of their chocolates. I tried the Passion Fruit, Green Tea, and Cherry Blossom flavored chocolates, and I was blown away by the quality of the product. Each chocolate was expertly crafted, and I could taste the uniqueness of each flavor. The passion fruit was refreshingly tangy, the green tea was subtly sweet, and the cherry blossom was delicately fragrant. I would highly recommend all of them. The staff at Coconama Chocolate were knowledgeable and approachable, providing me with helpful information about their chocolates. The experience was fantastic, and I regret not purchasing more chocolates to take home with me, especially the passion fruit! My first impression of Coconama was fantastic. The chocolates are of the highest quality, and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a unique and delicious chocolate experience, I highly recommend stopping by Coconama Chocolate. Whether you're a chocolate connoisseur or just looking for a tasty treat, Coconama will not disappoint.

I recently purchased a variety of flavors from Coconama at a market stall, and every single one was amazing. However, the hojicha flavored bark was a standout. As a fan of hojicha tea, trying this unique chocolate was a divine experience. I am grateful to the creators of this exquisite treat. Highly recommend for any chocolate and tea lovers! Also they are nut free which is amazing❤️

Yelp
I've been wanting to check out a dessert place and had this bookmarked. Its a small family owned shop that's been around in the Vancouver area for some time. One of the shop owners greeted us and gave us some recommendations and we decided to try those as well as some other flavors we were eyeing. Every flavor they offer is rich but not heavy at all, with just the right amount of sweetness in each chocolate truffle bite. I didn't find any of the truffles overpowering at all, very balanced and in just the right amounts to satisfy your chocolate cravings. The sake hot chocolate reminded me of a chocolate-y amazake they serve in Japan, it was really good, I haven't been to a place that serves a hot chocolate like this, so hoping they'll have this next year as well. Will definitely be back to grab more! 〇【Menu Items Ordered & Rating Details】 ・Salted Caramel, $3.99 ・Milk Tea, $3.99 ・Earl Grey Dark Chocolate, $3.99 ・Yuzu, $3.99 ・Matcha, $3.99 ・Hojicha, $3.99 ・Sake Hot Chocolate, $4.99 (Ttl: $28.93 CAD (tax excl.)) 〇【Food/Drinks: 4.0】 ・Good variety of chocolates to select from in different forms. 〇【Service: 5.0】 ・The shop owners were in and were great with giving us recommendations. 〇【Atmosphere: 3.5】 ・Interior is decorated with chocolate goods and some educational items regarding cocoa in general. Soft white lights keep the store lit. Store is in North Vancover in a neighborhood close to the Burrard Dry Dock Pier area. In a cozy little strip with other small businesses in the area as well. It might be a little hard to find if you haven't been in the area but there's clear signs on the road that will point you to the shop. 〇【CP: 4.0】 ・Considering how delicious the chocolates are here, they're priced pretty fairly compared to other places I've been to. 〇【Misc memo】 ・NFC payments (Amex OK!) ・Street parking

Yelp
I wanted an Easter gift delivered to a couple of family members, ideally something special and locally made, and not just generic flowers and tasteless chocolates. Coconama to the rescue! Taka delivered lovely Easter baskets filled with delicious and unique chocolates - they were a big hit with the recipients. Now I can't wait to try it myself!

Yelp
This place is a gem. So is the lovely owner! He's the sweet guy taking care of all your needs & makes all the chocolates. Homemade. A must go-to local spot for some bomb ass chocolate in Canada. Great for gifts!

Yelp
Service: 10/10!!!! Friendly, Quick to Cater & Welcoming. The employees are proud of their history and the manager is willing to share how they came to be. They also provide decent number of samples to ensure you fall in love with their craft. There are Chocolate courses you can also take which is lovely. Flavour: 10/10!!!! Unbelievably tasty & Savoury. There are tons to choose from & the texture just might roll your eyes to the back of your head.

Yelp
They have moved out of Richmond and into North Vancouver into a semi residential neighbourhood just east of the Lonsdale strip. I've been visiting them for several years, and most recently in their new location. They've been here for about 6 months at the time of writing this. Here's your dilemma: 1. Go to any non descript store and get yourself a box of Pot of Gold chocolates 2. Come here into North Van and get yourself a box of unique chocolates that I don't know of any other place in the lower mainland that makes this stuff, but it costs more. Obviously, I've made my choice, as you can see. I'd much rather give this out as Xmas gifts rather than the Pot of Gold stuff. They also have a rewards card where they give you a cup of their chocolates after a certain amount of stamps you collect on each $5 spent. $15 for a gift box of 18 pieces. So what's your choice?

Yelp
Coconama is the first ganache chocolate shop in Vancouver. The owner Taka is always very friendly. He often offers samples for customers, which enables us to try out a variety of different & unique flavours before buying. I've only ever purchased Coconama chocolate from their booths at various craft fairs & markets. (I've never been to their actual store before.) My most recent purchase was at the Portobello West Market, inside the Vancouver Home & Design Show. I was so happy to see Coconama there, as I was craving some melt-in-your-mouth chocolatey goodness that day! I haven't had a chance to try all of their flavours yet, but of the ones I've tried & bought, my faves were: green tea, cherry blossoms, yuzu, black sesame, and earl grey. Their chocolates come in mini-cube 10-piece cups, gift boxes, atop tarts, and in 6-piece packs. I'm definitely a fan of Coconama. With the owner's great attitude, and the delicious wide variety of unique chocolate flavours, you can be sure I'll be buying more Coconama chocolate this holiday season!

Yelp
Attention chocolate lovers! this place is a must go if you enjoy truffles. I saw these at Whole Foods and I found out they are made in Vancouver! So I had to try them ASAP! The shop is a bit hidden but with a bit of exercise you will eventually find it. When you walk in, it looks like a factory inside because this is where they make it. They have a big selection of flavours and the employees are super accommodating. If you want to try all flavour I bet they will feed you all flavour. My fav. flavour are milk tea, matcha dark chocolate, and mango. I wish the pieces are bigger but it helps me control my intake :p I recommend this place for chocolate lover as gift, guilty pleasure, and everyday eats.

Yelp
I ordered a gift basket last month and it was very seamless and easy. I ordered online and sent a follow up email after placing the order with my flavor preferences. Kayoko followed up to confirm the flavors. The recipient loved her gift!

Yelp
Best chocolate ever... Omg amazing!! I am so happy that my friend told me about this little gem! The ladies who work here are so nice and friendly. They feed you loads of samples hehe! The mango is their best seller and I can see why! Everything is so delicious here.

Yelp
- You can buy some flavors from SPUD, but the full selection can only be found at their official website - So colorful and delicious, I bought a bunch of 2 packs to try all of their flavor. - The tarts are small like candy, they are not egg tart size, and are great as a sweet snack.

Yelp
The chocolate reminded me of fudge or truffles, BUT TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS IS #1. The chocolate MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH, IT'S HEAVEN. I got to try their chocolate at the Japan Sakura Fair and I gotta say no regrets. I'm so sad that their shop is all the way in North Vancouver! I wish they were located in Vancouver :( But knowing me, it's so worth going all the way to North Van just for these chocolates. The person who helped my bf and I (I think it was the owner) gave us all kinds of samples (so generous with samples)! I almost tasted every single one!! Such great service. The flavours are SPOT ON. They have so many flavours (I favour some than others) but if you TRY EACH FLAVOUR you still won't be disappointed. Even though I favoured some than others I still have respect, they were all so good. There was this chocolate basil lime or like basil or lemon basil flavour? Something with basil! It caught my eye! It was an interesting flavour, but it was still yummy! The milk tea flavour won me over!! $5 for a big container cup was a decent price! Uhh this place won a new customer! I think I've found the perfect gift for my chocolate loving friends! I'm amazed. This is perfection.

Yelp
These guys are absolutely amazing! Best chocolate truffles I have ever tasted. It truly is a hidden gem in north Vancouver. Highly recommended- and if you do make your way there try everything!!! You won't regret

Yelp
Walked by on a sunny afternoon and stopped in. Staff was super welcoming and let me sample any chocolate they had. Get the dark chocolate earl grey or the white chocolate mango!

Ivan K.

Yelp
I found this because I was looking at chocolate shops for my girlfriend. She likes Royce so I wanted something similar. I was pleasantly surprised by this shop. Staff was nice and gave us many samples even though they were about to close. Chocolate is fantastic. Some of my favorites ever. The green tea is not too sweet and very flavorful. The mango and passion fruit are sweeter but so flavorful. My girlfriend loved the salted caramel. So good.

Yelp
Wonderful and unique chocolates, love their ganache cubes, delectable and flavorful bite size yumminess, of my fave flavors, I love!

Yelp
I love truffles and how I wish they had a shop in the U.S. or even shipped to the U.S. I would have happily paid for it! It's that amazing. Literally melt in your mouth without the overly sweet, grainy sugary aftertaste. I tried mango, dark chocolate, gingerbread, and Japanese yuzu. All equally delicious!

C M.

Yelp
I received a box of Coconama truffles as a gift from my schools PAC. The chocolates were absolutely wonderful. I was also impressed with the very clean, sealed individual wrapping of each flavour during covid times. What a delectable, yet safe gift. I wanted more and was so happy to see that this was a local company and that they delivered to my area. The treats were delivered quickly, and they even came back the next day because they missed delivering one item (I hadn't even noticed tbh). Great service, scrumptious sweets, and honesty :)

Yelp
This chocolate melts on your mouth and is so so good. The owner or manager came out and offered me different samples every few minutes. Extremely good service and I bought a few gift baskets. Cant say enough, really exceptional.
google avatar

Yelp
I see their chocolates at every farmers market and craft fair. I always try their samples but never buy anything, however, did at the last craft fair. Their flavored ones are white chocolate based which in general I am not a huge fan of, however, with these guys I really got into it especially the Mango one. I am so glad that they finally have a store front which I visited the other day. Such awesome customer service.

Yelp
First time visiting Coconama in North Vancouver. I had their Mango Chocolate cup and it was amazing- it melts in your mouth, creamy, tasty, simply delicious. You can also find them in several Farmers Markets around Metro Vancouver. They are quiet expensive, but worth it.

Yelp
The best chocolate ever, a real chocolate adventure, unique taste treats.

Robyn H.

Yelp
Just bought the Yuzu Lemon and mango and they are so delicious. She even packed them with little ice packs so they didn't melt on the hot day. I'll be back again!!!
