Came for Valentines day and so glad we did.
Cocos has always delivered good vibes, decent cocktails, people watching coolness, and their amazing polenta chips (where they donate $1 from every serving to charity.)
We got all of that in spades on our recent visit, but it also looks to me like their menu has grown up a bit.
Antipasti was great, cocktails were really good (even their house cola with jack Daniels was an experience) and their specials of beef cheek riccia was delightful. Polenta superb and crispy as always.
Then out came the duck and pea ragu. Well. It's one of those dishes that just makes you sit up and take notice. It's a classic that deserves a place in Auckland's list of iconic eats. Rich, succulent, deep in flavour and then just set off with the slight freshness of the peas (and maybe a light citrus note? Wasn't sure.) Perfect pasta. It's a classic and I'd eat it every week. You should too.
So great to see a place that's been going since 2009 absolutely thriving in 2026.
