We found this bakery at a wedding convention and decided to use them for our dessert table. They delivered a wonderful selection of small desserts and sweet treats that were a big hit with our guests. Everything tasted amazing, and the tres leches was my personal favorite. The only challenge we faced was in the ordering process. It took several weeks to get in contact and finalize our order, which was a bit stressful during wedding planning. However, once everything was confirmed, they followed through beautifully and delivered on time. Overall, the quality of the desserts made it worth the wait. The presentation was lovely, and the flavors were exceptional. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for delicious and memorable wedding desserts.

Working with Sumayyah and Codetta Bake Shop was phenomenal!!! I was determined to find a Black bakery for my wedding cake in the Baltimore area. We were able to do a tasting, where we tried several flavors of cupcakes and tasted carrot cake. It was an absolute success! Let’s just say by the time I got over to the dessert table, there was not a cupcake left I. sight. Guests are still telling me about how delicious the cupcakes were; one guest said they had four! Now for the cake… WE WERE SPEECHLESS!!! No notes!!!!! It was perfection. I’ll drop a picture here when we get them. It was stunningly beautiful, but even more it was so perfectly delicious!! I just wanted to keep eating it and have a moment with my new husband and that cake. We packed it up and carried it around throughout the first half of our honeymoon abroad, eating and savoring it over several days!! We can’t wait to eat some on our first anniversary. Sumayyah really made our dreams come true!!!

This place is in my top 5 favorite bakeries! The woman who showed me the inventory was so sweet (I wish I got her name 🫣) and the desserts were REALLY good!

Codetta is my absolute favorite bakery in the city! Cupcakes are my favorite dessert, and nobody does them better than Codetta. The weekly specials are an amazing deal (four cupcakes for $10), especially considering how high quality they are. The cake is extremely soft, fluffy, and not at all crumbly. The frosting to cake ratio is perfect, and the flavors are fun and innovative. The owners are incredibly responsive and friendly. I trust them to resolve any issues promptly, since they genuinely care about their customers' experiences and the quality of their treats. They are constantly experimenting with new flavors and partnering with other local businesses. I love that we have such a great spot in Fed Hill! I'm always excited to see what Codetta comes up with next!

We've been coming to Codetta for years! It's a tradition to get our kiddo's birthday mini cupcakes from here (birthday cake & cookies n. cream). The service is great, and the sweet treats are phenomenal. I'm lactose intolerant, and I will pop a lactose pill so I can have a bit of their tres leches, cheesecakes, and ice cream. You can't go wrong with their regular-sized cupcakes and I love that they have some rotating flavors. Their vanilla birthday cake is a personal favorite, too. Codetta bake shop is an awesome place to get your favorite desserts! The cupcake flavors are always changing and it’s exciting to see what unique and delicious flavors there will be to try next! The cheesecake is AMAZING. I got two cheesecakes for the holidays (eggnog and caramel apple) and they were so good. Everything about the cheesecake itself was perfect. Flavor, texture, the homemade whipped cream. YUM! Definitely try some of her many flavors and variety of desserts!

Codetta bake shop is my favorite bakery of all time - absolutely everything from here is amazing. Ordered a few types of cheesecake slices for a friend’s birthday here. The cheesecake was delicious and a hit! The owner and staff were also super friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be back!

Insane! That's how good these desserts are. I've been lurking on social media drooling over Codetta Bake Shop's photos for a while before I finally went ahead and placed an order. I knew the next time that banana pudding cheesecake was on the menu, it would be mine! My golden opportunity finally came and I grabbed it! In addition to the banana pudding cheesecake, I got the peach cobbler cheesecake and two cupcakes. The only downside is that the cupcakes were a little more dense than I would like but the flavor was good! That banana pudding cheesecake tho? Divine! The peach cobbler cheesecake? Slap ya mama! That's all I have to say. Ordering and pick up was easy. You set the time that you are to pick up your items. Codetta Bake Shop is inside of a church but they have a table set up at the front where you give the staff your name and they bring your order to you. Easy as pie! I see they have a sweet potato cheesecake that I have my eye on. I may have to place another order very soon.

Oh my goodness! I had the Biscoff cheesecake as well as the caramel crunch cheesecakes and my mind was blown. They were rich, complex and not excessively sweet. I'm kinda scared to have unearthed this place. Time to find some man Spanx because it's about to go down!

Gave up dessert/sweets for several weeks and made the conscious decision to break the fast with a couple places on my list. Codetta had been on my list since I moved to area due to all the wonderful reviews. Once again, Yelp didn't let me down. I love streamlined processes and Codetta has theirs squared away. Easy online ordering and updated information related to product availability all on the website. In addition to larger orders, they have an assortment of individual portions via Dessert on Demand and a couple Weekly Wildcard items that I think are different each week. I ordered, selected my pick-up time and was off. I was a little confused about where to pickup but there were signs outside of the church and the pickup table was directly near the front door. I was met by the friendly owner and handed my order very quickly. I got a Caramel Crunch Cheesecake slice and a slice of Pineapple Upside Down cake, which was that week's wildcard option. Of the two, the cheesecake was my favorite. Just enough caramel crunch to be delicious. The pineapple upside cake had good flavor but was a bit more dense than I was expecting. Nothing worth removing a star...was still good. I can see this being an issue for my waistline because I'll be back.

This was my 2nd visit and I just love this place! The customer service and the desserts are both spectacular!

Great experience, flavorful and rich desserts. Service is friendly and efficient. The Pistachio cream croissant with pistachios sprinkled on top, was fresh and decadent!

STOP READING AND RUN HERE!! Heard about this spot from a few friends and had to make it my business to stop by and try some of the desserts. They are only open on Saturday and Sunday and are located inside of a worship house foyer, a banner is posted on the outside just incase you have difficulty finding it. These sweets were seriously legit. As a Oatmeal Creme Pie fan as a kid, I was more than willing to try out Codetta's make on it. They did not disappoint the cookie was the perfect softness to match the cream inside. The birthday cupcake was good, moist and perfectly sized.. Now the cheesecake puts the other guys to shame! The sweet potato cheesecake! AMAZING!! I will have to make an advance order for the holidays because hands down I have never tasted a slice of cheesecake better than this in LIFE! You still here? Go run to Codetta's!! Thank me later.. :)

This black woman owned bake shop specializes in cheesecakes and cupcakes...and sometimes it pays to specialize!!!! Online ordering was simple, and they have an adorable walk up window (calling first to let them know you're there), that works perfect for COVID social distancing. Best seller is their Oreo cheesecake, and I see why!!!! It was one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. Perfectly creamy, and the Oreo was prominent. Also had the peanut butter cup cheesecake which did not lack any peanut butter goodness!! Delicious as well!! We also tried the chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream, and it was delectable!! Moist as you would want a chocolate cupcake to be, and that buttercream...yum!!! Can't wait to return to try other treats!!!

Codetta is a huge asset to the community. Not only are they a small, black woman owned business, but the food is AMAZING. I have primarily had their cupcakes, and while everything has been good, the highlight for me is always the icing. Their buttercream is rich and delicious. They always have a good mix of flavors on offer, so my wife and I can each get what we want. Consider signing up for their email list, there are often good deals to be had, and it will help you keep an eye on what they have going on.

This is actually my second time. So in honor of free cupcake day there was a free cupcake with an order. I thought this to be the perfect opportunity to try the Tres Leches cake. Welp, I just came back to tell you that cake is sooooo good! I mean amazing! Love it Mya . I hear the Coquito Tres Leches is also a must try. Maybe the next time!!

Absolutely loved the birthday cake cupcake; it was fluffy and moist, just perfect! I also enjoyed the carrot cupcake. I'm not a fan of cheesecake usually but the peach cobbler cheesecake was absolutely delicious!! Some ice cream flavors I also loved were the bean pie, pumpkin spice, cookies and cream, but my favorite had to be the browned butter pecan ice cream--texture, sweetness & consistency were all flawless. Hands down some of the best desserts I've had. Everything tasted fresh & rich. Highly recommend!

I pre-ordered a tres leches cake and a cupcake. When I arrived, it was a very easy abs fast pick-up process. If there's something that you have your eye on, I HIGHLY recommend that you pre-order and then pick up because by the time that I went to pick up my order (3pm) I noticed that they had sold out of many things. Anyway, the tres leches was perfection! Light, airy, sweet, just perfect. The ginger snap cupcake was delicious too! It's such a unique flavor, and perfect for the holiday season. Will definitely buy again!

TIP #1: Tres Leches cake is an absolute must eat! TIP #2: order ONLINE ONLY. they do not have a store front or banner. I don't like soggy cakes (eg banana bread pudding) but this cake is rich, balanced and unique. I've never had a cake like this. Amazing. 10/10 Red velvet cake is regular/small but rich and dense in texture which makes up for the size. 7/10

First time ordering from Codetta after eyeing all their well decorated cakes on instagram for a while now. We ordered 2 tres leches cakes for $5 each online a few days earlier, and was pleased to see them doing contact-less pickup! Eats: Tres leches cake - (4.5/5) The perfect balance of light spongy cake, sweetened milk, and a bright cinnamon zing to bring it all together. Would definitely order again! tl;dr Definitely will continue to support this local business (not to mention woman-run!) and can't wait to try one of their cheesecakes next!

The BEST Tres Leches cake I have had, period. This place is amazing and Chris and Sumayyah are two of the loveliest people around. Only reason they get 5 stars is this platform won't allow me to give them 10.

I ordered for the first time ever yesterday. Bean pie ice cream is the best thing I have ever tasted. Period.

Really wanted to try her cakes for Mother's Day! The service is awful. I sent a DM last night, and asked are you going to be open for Mother's Day. She responded yes no mention of preorder's. I drive all the way to the location, I look online it say cakes are sold out. I call she says yes you have to pre order. Not to mention parking is horrible in this area! I drove around 10 times to find a space! I decided to stay and order slices. Now the window suppose to open at 1, nope I am standing outside waiting 10 minutes until they setup. I decide to leave. Awful service! Never again. If you go check the website! She will not mention any of this too you, before you drive and have to find parking, and this is a residential area so parking is horrible!

I wish I could give N/A stars bc my review is solely based on submitting an online order for a custom cake. I submitted it more than 2 weeks in advance as the website states. Unfortunately I never received any response. I followed up via email a week later and almost 10 days later, still no response. Why offer custom cakes at all? I was excited to support a local business but they couldn't follow through. And how hard is it to respond to an email? If you're too busy that's great, but just let me know so I can move on and find another cake. And four business days is a little ridiculous - you gotta get it down to 24-48 hours. But anyway it's been like 12 business day so idk ‍

Today's is my lucky day! Not only did I win two pieces of caramel crunch cheesecake from Codetta Bake Shop but they were absolutely delicious! The cheesecake had a salted caramel flavor, I could just eat that plain...it was so good . Then you get to the crust....butter crunch....Yessss! And the salted caramel sauce just took it over the top. I've had butter crunch cheesecake in the past but they don't compare to this. I'll definitely be back for more and will be trying some of their other desserts.

I love everything I have ever gotten from this gem. Yesterday I purchased the legendary Caramel Crunch cheesecake it was delicious I ate most of it before I posted this review creamy cheesecake sweet caramel with a butter crunch cookie crust..I definitely will be back here again

This bake shop is an excellent business with amazing treats and phenomenal customer service. The cheesecake is so fluffy and light while still managing to be rich and flavorful. They went above and beyond to get a birthday order to me, which was incredible. I also really appreciate the fast replies about ingredients/food sensitivities.

I had Codetta make so cupcakes for a sex reveal! They were so accommodating snd super friendly! The cupcakes are THE BEST cupcakes I've every had-- they are so delicious and moist. The buttercream frosting is absolutely divine. I can't wait to order again!!

Every cake/confecton I have eve ordered from Codetta has been top tier! Both quality and flavor are never compromised in every sweet they turn out. I have used Codetta Bakeshop since their inception for everything from my kid's birthdays to professional events so it was a no brainer that I'd go to these awesome folks for my wedding cake. The cake tasting process had to be altered due to COVID regulations but Codetta's beautifully packaged take home kit helped ensure safety and a seamless ordering process. Highly recommend!!

I just ordered from this bakery for the first time yesterday. Is there such thing as a 6 out of 5 stars?!! I ordered several cupcakes and a couple of cheesecake slices. ALL of it was SO-o-o-o-o GOO-O-O-D! The peach cobbler cheesecake blew me away! My new bakery. See you in a few days.

OMG!!! Why did I take so long to try these treats!! Sssooooooooo yummy!! Like seriously! 1. They deliver which is great because I don't feel like driving. 2. Tres Leche cake is amazing. I almost ate the entire thing in 1 minute. I need another one!! 3. Peaches Cheesecake. I had not had any cheesecake in quite sometime. And what have I been waiting for?! I will definitely be ordering again!! So so so yummy!!

The baked goods are average but the "new" policies regarding how far ahead to order are asinine. Minimum of two weeks, which isn't clear if you've ever ordered from them before. Anyway, most business owners would at least feign sympathy or whatnot but generally I'd say being snarky is just poor business practice. Lots of independent bakeries with professional owners we can still support to support local businesses so that is what we'll do!

The buscoff cupcake was hands down the best cupcake I ever had. I will be order my birthday cakes exclusively from them.

Codetta was awesome, highly recommend! Everything sounded so good that we got a bunch of stuff for a group of us so that we could try to sample as many things as possible. I definitely get why the cookies N cream cheesecake is one of their most popular items, it was amazing. The birthday cake and strawberries n cream cupcakes were the standouts for us, but honestly, we got five flavors and they were all really good. Both marshmallow treat flavors were 10/10. We picked up from the shop, the staff was friendly and the order was ready on time. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on this menu, definitely check this place out!

I had the Oh My G'Nache! cheesecake for my birthday. I love to bake but I will never bake a cheesecake again. And if it's not from Codetta's, it is not worth the calories. The cake was amazing! So creamy. Just the right amount of fudginess. The best part was having it delivered by Mya herself.

I am so late writing this review, but I have to write it. Our experience with Codetta Bake Shop was fabulous. My 5 year old decided he wanted cupcakes for his birthday and we stumbled upon Codetta Bake Shop. Thank goodness!! Starting from our first encounter at the pop-up tent where we picked several flavors to try (all phenomenal), working with Sumayyah to plan the best combination of flavors and amount for the party, customizing the cupcakes, and then actually serving them to our guests, things could not have been better. There was a bit of a snafu with pickup, and Sumayyah and Chris went above and beyond in making sure that the cupcakes got to us in time, in perfect condition, and making sure that we were happy. The kids were blown away, the parents were chowing down, and everyone was thrilled. We even found some leftovers squirreled away in the fridge a few days later and they were still absolutely delicious. Consensus was the Triple Chocolate and Cinnamon Bun cupcakes were the favorites, but they were all great and such high quality. So grateful to have worked with this team and we will definitely be back! Thank you all for helping to make my son's party such a success :)
