Where to Find Barista Competition-Worthy Signature Coffee Drinks Around Los Angeles - Eater LA

"This Instagram friendly, plant-based cafe from three friends in a Pasadena courtyard features plenty of faux and real plants. Flowers even factor into signature drinks like the Rowl Bowl latte, named for the Crown City’s iconic stadium. Baristas somehow balance espresso with earthy beet juice, floral rose hibiscus syrup, and a choice of plant-based milk; I suggest almond. They garnish each cup - hot or iced - with fragrant rose petals. Better yet, Coffee + Plants is a mission-driven café that works with the National Forest Foundation to plant one tree for every 100 cups sold." - Joshua Lurie

Now don’t get me wrong, I really love the idea of this place. Donating to local animal charities is awesome and amazing and I hope they continue helping the community in meaningful ways. However, I paid $9 for an iced dirty Chai. It was the wrong size, and watery as heck! Not to mention the little bits of oatmilk crust floating in my drink, super unappetizing. Their matcha was on par with Starbucks. But the food I ordered was gross I forced myself to eat it because I was running late. They really need to improve the quality of their menu. Otherwise I really can’t see myself spending money here. Otherwise the staff was super nice, and the atmosphere was gorgeous.

Minor mixup while ordering, I had asked for a croissant but only my drinks were rung up so can't speak to the food other than it all looked good. Drinks were good... The best part was how cute the decor was!

This place is amazing. The signature lattes are delightful, the espresso is delicious (Slayer FTW), and everything is plant based. Do yourself, the planet, and the animals a favor and stop by.

One of the best coffee shops I have ever spent my time and money at. Amazing concept and menu, such a prime location for a date. The customer service is super pleasant and the vibes are so nice! Vanilla latte’s for the win!

Coffee And Plants (est 2019) is cute lil plant-based coffee shop tucked in an alley way of One Colorado Square in Pasadena. It’s founded by Leona Lewis, Dennis Jauch, and friend Achraf Sekhiri. I bet you didn’t know that. HaHa! They have specialty drinks, drip and pour-over coffees, cold brews, special teas and seasonal menu items. Its pulchritudinous indoor and outdoor design is infused with faux plants and flowers; indoor seats were limited and layout lacks space but their front outdoor seats does make up for it. I was perfunctorily greeted by a staff. I perused their menu and ordered a regular cold brew (10oz) x almond milk. I liked the taste and smoothness. I honestly think it’s kinda small for a $6.25 tag price. Condiment section was organized and clean. Staff was competent. Atmosphere was relaxing. Overall, I had a good experience and enjoyed my drink as a first time visitor.

Good idea but not very well executed on the drinks part. Don’t get the vanilla latte, doesn’t take like vanilla at all or even slightly bit enjoyable. Also they don’t give you the whole shot of espresso, friend ordered an extra shot and they only gave her about half a shot which I thought was unreasonable since we’re paying already so much for this coffee. Just overall not very good and over priced for a small amount of coffee :( very disappointed.

I really like not having to pay extra for plant based milk. This coffee shop is completely plant based, including the pastries, so the price already has the usual surcharge included. The drinks and ambience are really cute and feminine.

I was visiting the nearby Norton Simon museum with a good friend and we researched a nice place for coffee and a snack. The public parking was across the street so parking was easy on a weekend. Great people, nice location, nice vibe inside and on the patio outside. Coffee was great too! We will be back.
