Yelp
This is my coffee shop - well I don't own it, but it is the place I like go go and have coffee over all other places in Bismarck/Mandan. The owner, Cya, is a naturalized Iranian who is politically incorrect, occasionally says inappropriate things, and sometimes is grumpy. In other words a typical human being.
He and his employees are efficient, fast, and will talk and laugh with you and his regulars are from literally every walk of life. You can find students, tradesmen, professionals, politicians, policemen, Soldiers, as well as homeless and parolees (urine testing site in the neighborhood) buying coffee here. Cya will tell you that is America.
As for paying for the internet - well it seems to me that is offered in other places for free, but your coffee will be more expensive. The one poster was correct, his selection of pastries is pretty lousy, but it's like his providing internet. His is a coffee shop. You want a special pastry, go to a pastry shop. I always get a kick out of people who want every little shop to be just like Walmart or, in this case, Starbucks or Perkins. There is a reason they exist, so go there if you want what they offer, but please don't hold it against a small business that never claimed it was either of those.
