Google
Great place for coffee and pastries. The Boston Cream doughnut was Amazing! Every child would love a silly face cookie 😜. The scones looked delicious.

Google
The best bakery in Salem! They always have a fun selection of donuts and pastries, pies, cakes, cookies… everything you could want and everything is so good! I also love their selection of coffee and breakfast sandwiches. The employees are always so super sweet. We come in here several times a week. It’s my emotional support establishment. I would work here even if they just paid me in coffee time gift cards. I love you, Coffee Time!!

Kelly

Google
The best breakfast pastries and sandwiches in Salem. Worth the walk from your place of stay to grab a box of pastries and cup of coffee! We went to 4 other google reviewed coffee spots in Salem, but only discovered this place on our last day, or else we would have been coming every morning had we found it sooner!

Joy Flanagan

Google
The breakfast sandwiches were delicious. Highly recommend you get it on a biscuit!! Also had to try a selection of donuts and wow they were so fluffy and fresh!! Coffee was good too. You gotta do a lot of shuffling around inside to make room for people because there’s not a lot of space, but trust me, it’s worth it!

Google
Best paczki and donuts you'll get in Salem. I'm not even exaggerating. I could make the 6 hour drive up to MA from PA just to go to Coffee Time. My personal favorite is the lemon Bismark, although the strawberry paczki is a close close second. And their Vietnamese iced coffee is some of the best I've had outside of an actual Vietnamese café.

Google
Linda was so sweet. She helped us pick which dessert we wanted and she is right this place is better than Mike’s. Also the coffee was really good and good for the price.

Google
What a fun little spot in Salem, right outside of town near the Satanic Temple! The place is adorable and has a wide display of tasty treats waiting to be devoured! Make sure to grab yourself a Polish Doughnut 🍩- I had the Raspberry one and is was light, fluffy and full of love! I went ga-ga over the Honey Dipped Donuts - soft and flavorful and the sandwiches were tasty as well. I had a bacon, sausage, cheddar and egg on a croissant with extra pepper, little salt and butter. It was mighty good and left me wanting more. Simple, yet memorable! I saw a few older women hugging each other goodbye as we were leaving - So I got his from them all as well! Fun end to a nice experience. Recommended.

Google
Really cool place with so many delicious looking choices! I'll have to come back to try more. It's right inside and they can be busy but it's worth the wait. They had Packzi which they said is normally a special around Easter time. They had so many requests for it though they started early this year. I went with the raspberry flavor and it was great. Also appreciate the free dedicated parking they have. No gluten free options if anyone is checking.

Yelp
2024, back again. We now go every year and the quality has never changed. I got a raspberry Bismarck and a chocolate Whoopie Pie. My kids got some other things. A cannoli, carrot cake and not sure what else but everything was amazing!

Brenda B.

Yelp
My first time here, and I've lived in Salem for 10 years. Their coffee is the best I've had. The display case is a pastry lover's dream come true. I had a mini cranberry scone and my friend had a raspberry scone. Delicious. They also had a sample of a pumpkin bar or cake to sample. That was amazing too! I highly recommend this place. Word of mouth has always been very good, and I can see why. Give Coffee Time a try, you won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
Coffee Time Bake Shop is dangerously delicious. from the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a case stacked full of (nearly) every possible pastry imaginable. i've heard their lunchtime pizza is pretty popular. I have been loving their banana foster coffee which is the flavor of the week, but they don't have flavored cream options. I went home to add french vanilla almond creamer, and I recommend bringing your own if you're on the go. i also loved their iced vietnamese coffee. is it the best coffee ever? no but definitely better than DD. i've tried their peanut butter & fluff donut, it was so ridiculously good and nostalgic; i tried their bagels which are big, fluffy and fresh, and their blueberry crumble donut which i liked but it was blueberry jam inside, not exactly what i expected. they have breakfast sandwich options as well, but they are $9 with egg, cheese and meat. even if you just get egg & cheese, it's $9. it should be a little less if you're not getting meat, although it is on a huge croissant (if that's your choice of bread), with 2 eggs. it's very old school interior, it's more of a takeout place although there are tables inside. the line can get crowded and the staff are all great, patient and helpful. they're open pretty late too.

Yelp
I'm writing this before I even ordered my list of pastries. The attached picture of a very unhappy employee does not make for a very good photograph of all your pastries. Teach the young man to get some personality. & learn to smile.

Jamie G.

Yelp
Great coffee, chai tea and Bismarck's! I was so excited to try the pastries and this place did not disappoint! I had the mini strawberry Bismarck & the homemade whipped cream was next level!

Ame G.

Yelp
Heard good things about this place and decided to give 'em a visit. It was a brisk 10-minute walk from Salem Common, which was pleasant. I was a little taken aback at just how busy the place was, even at 6 pm. A constant stream of people parking or trotting in from down the street to be greeted by the incredibly efficient team, swiftly taking orders for coffee, donuts, bismarcks, etc. It's a bit cramped and overwhelming when it's busy, especially if you've never been there before and want to look at the huge array of options. However, the staff are so helpful and efficient! Decided upon a bismarck, which was absolutely delicious, fresh, and the star of the show, along with an apple cinnamon muffin, a pineapple coconut orange muffin, and a peanut butter jelly donut. Everything was extremely delicious, all you'd hope for and more from bakery goodies- flawless *Chef's kiss* This place is AMAZING. Love that they offer dog friendly patio seating and dedicated free parking, too. Definitely do not miss out visiting this place.

Ashley U.

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop and bakery! You walk in and order at the counter and the customer service is quick and the food affordable. Decent breakfast sandwich options and a few coffee options. The baked goods were hands down the best part! You have to try them!!

Grace B.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place by accident. It's off the beaten path but I highly recommend making the trip. The pastries are AMAZING and they also offer egg sandwiches for breakfast. They are open 7 days a week from 7am-11pm so you can stop by for a sweet treat to start off and also end your day.

Rina D.

Yelp
Wow. Do not be fooled by the simple exterior. This place is amazing! So good that after we scarfed down bizmarks on our first visit, we returned two days later because we just couldn't control ourselves. However on visit #2 we tried a donut, a cupcake and a piece of pie and all three were also delicious. With a friendly staff to top it all off, this places is an A+.

Bre B.

Yelp
Looking for a late night bakery to fulfill our sweet tooth desires....walked 0.8 miles to find coffee time bake shop. Wide variety of choices of cookies, dog treats, pasteries (tiramisu, esclairs, and so much more!) the coffee was deliscious and so was the peppermint hot chocolate. Haven't tried the pumpkin or chocolate Whoopie pies we also bought but they look spectacular! If you have a sweet tooth we highly recommend stopping here!

Regina P.

Yelp
Chocolate chip cookie and chocolate crinkle cookie were soooo flavorful and amazing. I wish I got more to take home. The coffee was good but we've had better. Also the lady behind the counter was not friendly and it felt like we were annoying her.

Mads B.

Yelp
We were staying nearby and so glad we found this place. If there's a line, don't worry. It moves very fast. Everything we had was great. Croissant breakfast Sammies, scones, bagels, shortbread cookies were all great. Highly recommend plus they're open late.

Dean N.

Yelp
For what it is, its' 5 stars. Great people, very good coffee, real neighborhood feel. While so many places seem to hide their mediocre quality behind an upscale dining area and high prices, this place does it the right way. People love the Bismarck's but damn, those fresh donuts are amazing.

Inspired C.

Yelp
Service was amazing! Even during this crazy October "Witchcraft" time of year the staff has their process down and communicates it their patrons! It is a well oiled machine! There is a diverse menu from fresh donuts, bagels, sandwiches, and pizza to hot and cold drinks! The team members help each other and customers get out the door quickly! There is some parking onsite! In addition, there are a few tables and benches to eat onsite however I would not count on the benches being available. Sorry we all ate our donuts and bagels quickly before remembering to get photos!

Brenda R.

Yelp
Great baked goods and coffee. Never had a Bismarck before, simply delightful. Coffee was good also.

Jackie O.

Yelp
This is exactly what you'd want in a coffee shop/bakery. They're simple and efficient and all of their offerings are fresh, well-priced, and phenomenally delicious. I highly recommend their Bismark which will blow you away. That fresh cream cannot be beat. Cakes, pies, cookies, scones, and some of the best fresh-made donuts I've had in a long time. This place can get busy but they are quick. Don't miss out on this gem.

Timothy A.

Yelp
Best in the north shore for real old fashioned doughnuts and real whipped cream fillings! They never disappoint!

Ernest S.

Yelp
This is the home of the Bismarck they make the most delicious Bismarck's all the different grocery stores around the area of Salem stock up on Bismarck made from coffee. They also have a lemon cake, which is delicious stopping be glad you did.

Danielle W.

Yelp
Great bakery with tons of options. I got a BLT on everything bagel and it was delicious. Fast and friendly service. Many savory and sweet treats, lots of drink options and very reasonable prices. Indoor and outdoor seating, open early and late! Highly recommend!

Abel R.

Yelp
My friends and I were walking in Salem and stumbled this little bakery. We are so glad we did. I bought a box of mixture of pastries that I forgot to take a picture of them. Each pastry was fresh and hit that sweet tooth. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Salem.

Melinda R.

Yelp
Love this place! We are from Northern NY and always make it a priority to stop here when we're in eastern MA. Love the biscuits!

Sonia A.

Yelp
I am so sad I don't live closer to this place, because they have the best peanut butter and jelly donut! I'm not a big donut person, but this donut is the best one I've had. We also ordered carrot cake, pumpkin pie, cookie and glazed donut, it was all good but the P&J donut is special. The staff was also very friendly which made our experience even better.

Kaylee V.

Yelp
Was just walking by and decided to stop for a apple cider donut and glade we did. It was a very yummy treat. The lady behind the counter was very nice. The store was decorated for fall and super cute.

J. B.

Yelp
Fantastic old school doughnuts. Their Eastern-European delicacies are also amazing, and are typically very hard to find. The staff is uber friendly, and they do their best to get you in and out quickly. I think their coffee is a bit weak though.

Michelle D.

Yelp
Wonderful pastries and coffee. Went for the 1st time Friday when visiting Salem. It was late and my group and I tried 5 different pastries. So good, we took a box full home. I will definitely go again.

Laecey F.

Yelp
Paczkis and Bismarck's is all you need to know. We had never been here before, so having 2 of us, we needed two each. They were a tad expensive, 20 dollars for 4. But they were DELICIOUS!! My favorite one was the deconstructed Boston cream pie one, I can not remember the actual name. But it was a perfect chocolate flavor with the light whip cream filling! The lady at the counter was super helpful in helping me with what are favorites for locals! Highly recommend if you need a cheat meal or something to celebrate!

Arianna W.

Yelp
This is my first review ever and I had to make one for this place. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! The pastries are plentiful and so delicious! Some of the best coffee and pastries I've ever had and everything was so fresh! I went late at night too just to stop by! So shocked this place isn't all over social media but, the Bismarck's are out of this world delicious! I loved this place and it feels like a slice of life place! Will be coming back again!

Kathleen W.

Yelp
We're moving and my husband is upset, he said and I quote " I'd crawl across broken glass to get a coffee time coffee "

Lisa A.

Yelp
I got the peanut butter jelly doughnut and it was so delicious. It was everything I wanted it to be. Service was nice and place was quick service get in and out kind of coffee shop.

Johnatthan T.

Yelp
Wow...The Peanut Butter & Jelly Donut is Awesome Really Fresh, delicious. Staff is very helpful as well

Linda G.

Yelp
I'm glad I don't live closer to Coffee Time. It's dangerous there! For Chanukah they are the only place that sells real sufganiyot. These like jelly donuts and they take orders ahead of time. You know it's a great place because Atomic Cafe which is tasty and reasonably priced, gets all their muffins and scones there. They sell a ton of them, too. Food from Coffee Time ends up everywhere! I always get my mom a large real cream Bismarck which she adores. I don't care for whipped cream but there are plenty of other things to get. Napoleons, eclairs, fancy and traditional cookies are all very popular. Although I only go a few times a year, the line is always out the door and they have 3-5 people working behind the counter. This isn't the fancy perfect French pastry shop. This is the very reasonably priced, popular, reliable, top ingredients kind of a place. If you need very good bakery products, or you need quantities, go here.

Diana N.

Yelp
I stopped by to grab a couple of goodies - the Strawberry bismark and the chocolate honey dipped donuts. The bismark had an amazing whipped cream - I could eat this on its' own! The chocolate donut was what I needed to quell my craving for a solid donut. Service was super patient as we looked through all of the cases to decide what we wanted. Parking is available which is super helpful in the area.

Tara K.

Yelp
I came because I saw reviews on their Bismarks, so when a change of plans had us staying a night in a hotel down the street, I had to go. I know I've read Google reviews about rude staff and bad coffee, but the staff was friendly and the coffee was good. The Bismark were not overly sweet, all of them had a fruit filling ( I saw strawberry, raspberry, lemon and blueberry) and a fresh whipped cream. We ordered strawberry Bismark, a raspberry scone and a berries and cream cake slice. The scone was crunchy on the outside and moist inside, very good. The berries and cream cake slice was delicious and fresh. Nothing was overly sweet, if you're worried about that. I'd definitely come back if I find myself in the area.

Jamison H.

Yelp
Living in the North Shore area myself , I've heard all about this place and it's magical selection of fresh goodies it offers. I gotta say... AMAZING. My wife and I stopped in and grabbed a Strawberry Bismarck and a Tiramisu. Holy crap. To die for. One other mention was the slices of Sicilian pizza they have occasionally. I decided to grab a cheese and was very glad I did. Delicious! What a sleeper item at a pastry shop! Will be back. Pronto.

Charles O.

Yelp
What a great place to walk up get a coffee and a sweet treat, and enjoy your day. Don't worry about a line, it moves faster than you can make up your mind on what to order. We tasted many items and all were great.

Marissa R.

Yelp
I kept seeing this place all over social media so we decided to give it a try when we were in Salem. To summarize: overrated. The coffee was great (and well priced), but all the pastries we tried were less than average. The apple turnover was pretty dry and could have used more cinnamon. The crullers were super dry and one of us even said "...this is a cruller?" The tiramisu was extremely... wet. Like, leaking liquid in every bite and not flavorful at all, I threw it out after 3 bites :( Service was fine, nothing extraordinary and as others said there was a wait that goes by pretty quickly. Overall, I would maybeeee come again for the coffee but I feel like there's better options in Salem (and maybe skip the pastries).

Ann P.

Yelp
The Bismarcks are delicious we went into the store at 8pm and it was still fresh and the staff was very helpful the walnut pie was delicious.. my husband loves it the hot chocolate was ok .. I definitely recommend this place

Cody H.

Yelp
Upon my first visit, I must first say that everything was delicious! My reasoning for only 4 stars, though, is because I saw how hard your employees were working to help the endless line of customers, while dealing with not enough room to do all the necessary work behind the counter (constantly having to squeeze and twirl around the other employees in order to serve the customer properly, and in a timely manner). After I was expertly served and finishing up at the register, I was surprised to learn that I couldn't tip them for their effort. Unless these people are all making 25$+ per hour, they should be allowed to receive tips at the customer's discretion. I hope the next time I stop in, that I see a tip jar at every register, or I will just go somewhere else with no lines.

Nancy L.

Yelp
We were staying in Salem for a few days and discovered this bakery. Great selection of pastries. Nice staff. Visited twice in our 3 days. I wish we had a bakery like this in our city!

Naomi C.

Yelp
Great bagels, however a worker by the name of Ben was extremely rude. Customer experience could improve.

Laurie H.

Yelp
We were so happy to see how perfect the cake we ordered for my daughter's baby shower came out. It looked just like the picture I sent. The cake was so delicious. I ordered the lemon berry delight cake. It was a hit with everyone! Thank you for a perfect cake.

Megan M.

Yelp
What an amazing bakery! Great products and super nice staff! We were visiting the area and went every day of our trip. I already miss the Bismarcks!

S I.

Yelp
Came here in search of a bagel while walking around Salem. There was a line out the door when we arrived (mostly old ladies...just an observation and not a judgment), but it moved faster than expected. Bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel tasted good but they use a microwave to heat up the ingredients right in front of you. Definitely go for the baked goods rather than the sandwiches. Cold brew was really good. Chocolate frosted donut was also really good.

Eliza S.

Yelp
I love everything about Coffee Time. I get whatever looks best and it's always a hit at parties. You can't go wrong here but expect a line at holidays.

Isabel B.

Yelp
Okay coffee. I really wanted to try something to eat, but the woman at the register was very cold and didn't understand my questions. Couldn't get it out to her that I have a pretty severe allergy to cinnamon. The rest of the staff was also cold, and talked quiet (at least the ones we interacted with). I got a hot mocha, and it was pretty good. Very very busy place. It's super quaint and cute though and has a small sitting area with free wifi, which is nice.

Samuel A.

Yelp
Donuts are pretty good (apple cider, pumpkin spice). Bismarck cream is v yummy, our favorite of the lot. Clean toilets and easy parking in front.

Richard J.

Yelp
Coffee Time serves excellent coffee and amazing pastries. Very friendly and efficient staff. They are often busy but it is always worth the wait. Our Fathers day cake, ordered a few days in advance, was perfect. Not too sweet and with abundant fresh fruit and fresh whipped cream. Much recommended.

Lindsay D.

Yelp
Seriously worth waiting in a line for. Everytime I go here there is a short wait, sometimes it looks long but it moves quick. Everything is delicious and I have never taken a single bite that wasn't worth every calorie. They specialize in Bismarks which are basically whipped cream filled pastries with also a fruit jam. They are not too sweet but soooo delicious. Vegetarians will be happy as pie, literally. They have a million other desserts too and its so worth stopping by to grab a bunch of individual treats or a box of donuts whatever your craving. Excellent working hours help this place stand out above the crowd but the real gem is the donuts and the amazing staff that love the food as much as I do! Indoor and outdoor seating in case you need one for the ride too ;) Try the honeybee coffee too its seriously a pleasant surprise.

Mr L.

Yelp
Such a classic, old school dessert place--delicious coffees, teas, donuts, baked goods, etc. fantastic.
