This is such a cute coffee shop! And the workers are so pleasant. The offerings are unique too. So nice, I went twice!

WOW. 💯💯 where do I begin? I cannot say enough nice things about this place. Great energy amazing staff quality all around. And the food and coffee was just lovely. Great background music but yet able to work I if you were using a computer.✔️ my girlfriend and I love to travel and check out coffee shops! We headed straight to the airport from enjoying our experience and left a bag behind. Tony was so kind to be sure the bag was expedited to us so we could make our flight back home A+ all around !!! they truly mean what they say their coffee uplifts people and they do too! YOU MYST check them out soon ❤️

Google
I absolutely adore this place. I first came here with coworkers a few months back to do some work, and it was a nice spot. The staff are super friendly and bring the items to you if you're staying in. I just wish it was bigger as it gets full pretty quickly. The menu has a lot of things I don't eat, and I feel the food is overpriced. I had the avocado toast with the Lavendar Lemonade, and although it was absolutely delicious, it was 20 something dollars!! More than what I would like to pay but 5 stars all around.

Google
This coffee house is absolutely beautiful and inviting. If I had more time I would have stayed longer. I'll make a point to stay longer next time I visit. Also there is no up charge for alternative milk options.

Google
The coffee was great. But the ambiance and the story behind the cafe is even better. When I came in I was greeted by a fun, full of energy barista, and she made some great cortados for us. I sat here surrounded by other people hard at work, and it was the exact ambiance I wanted.

Google
This is my new favorite place! Probably just had the best cold brew that I’ve had so far. The staff was friendly and pleasant. The space was clean, even while being a bit busy for a mid afternoon in the middle of the week. But my coffee was very good. I regret not trying the baked goods but now I have an excuse to go back.

Google
Heard about the opening of the coffe shop and I must say, it was incredible. The croissant with the cheese and spicy jam was amazing. Coffee on point and as I write this I might spin the block and get something else. Also, the young lady behind the counter was super helpful and polite.

If you love coffee/tea and a peaceful atmosphere, then make sure to check them out. Was visiting New York and had to make sure I stopped by. Had inside seating and a few outside tables. Also have a few food choices to select from.

Yelp
I love when I walk by somewhere unexpected and it turns into a great experience. I was walking home from lunch and decided to pop in to try this spot. I got the Coquito latte (iced) and loved how light and refreshing this was, I had never had this before and really enjoyed it. The space itself is so inviting and airy. Seems like a great place to bring your laptop to get some work done or to meet with a friend. Service was super friendly. I really look forward to coming back.

Yelp
This is my 3rd time coming here and as they say, 3rd times a charm. All 3 times I've come and it has been a pleasant experience and coffee and food has been great. On my second visit, I was able to order their Pattie's. Had one of each and both were very good, the curry split pea was my favorite, the vegetable medley was a little too peppery for my taste. I've gotten an iced cookie butter latte each time, this time I paired it with their everything croissant filled with cream cheese. YUM, definitely a fave now. It was fresh and deliciously fluffy, with the right amount of cream cheese. Definitely one of my new favorite spots, let me not forget, the service is always great. Very attentive and pleasant staff with warm smiles.

Yelp
Came here to give this place a try after hearing about it on the radio. I'm a huge fan of tuna or chicken salad sandwiches so it was a no-brainer to order the chicken salad sandwich. Surprisingly, the sandwich wasn't good. It was spicy and the portion was horrible. After bringing it to my server's attention, I was able to get a turkey and cheese crossiant as a replacement free of charge which I appreciated. The coffee had a great design and was pretty good overall. A clean and professional place. Definitely worth trying once or twice if you're ever in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Came by to get some work done. There were plenty of tables to do some work. They also have an ample amount of outlets in the space. Bathroom is also super clean. Wifi works well. Prices are pretty good for New York standards. I got the cold brew with oat milk. They don't charge for milk alternatives which is always a plus. I couldn't taste the subtle notes of the coffee, but it was pretty smooth. Coffee was okay, staff are great, and a good place to do work.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this coffee shop after leaving the nail salon next door. The space is beautifully decorated, and with free Wi-Fi, it's a comfortable space to settle in and get some work done. The staff was very friendly and answered all of my questions with a great attitude and a smile. I went to order some items but was informed that the menu was a little bit out of date. That was unfortunate, but luckily the associate was able to make some great recommendations for me. I ordered a caramel latte and a curry and split pea patty. The coffee drink was standard, but the patty was outstanding. I recommend checking this place out and I will absolutely be back for more.

Yelp
It has been on my bucket list to pop in for sometime. However, it's not exactly around the corner. Today, I was in the area, hungry and needed a cup of tea. I was so impressed at the fact that they cut my bagel for me. Toasted it perfectly and put the right amount of cream cheese on it. I was even more impressed with how after bringing my order to me, they put my tea in my cup. It is a calming location. They're playing some good music.... Jazz. It gets good sun. All in all, I will definitely be making a trip back.

Yelp
Excellent customer service matched by excellent products! The food selection was an ample array of nutritious delights. I had read some reviews on the avocado toast, and was going to up for something else until I ask the lady at the counter for her suggestion. She highly suggested the CUP Avo toast, and it did not disappoint! As an avocado connoisseur, I had made my own version of avocado toast on several occasions. Mixing up with various toppings from turmeric to seafood, and still wasn't ready for the delights that would soon enter my belly! The CUP Avo toast included spinach, hemp seeds, flax seeds, feta cheese, truffle honey and chili flakes. The flavors were a marriage of goodness and the truffle honey addition cannot be justified by words. The service received was stellar from entry to exit! Laura was a tentative and checked for items that I may have given me an allergic reaction. Tony, the Co-owner, was extremely helpful with my coffee to go selection. He packaged the ESPresso whole beans which I will soon be enjoying! CUP - Coffee Uplifts People is co-owned by radio personality Angela Yee. Her positive energy is matched by Tony and Laura. They truly make CUP a welcoming and a great space for remote work. I did not feel rushed and had breakfast and lunch while working. Tables and high boys were dispersed throughout and welcomed workers, meeting space, families and many appeared to be regulars. Love my experience and so did my co-worker, who placed a to go order. Before I left I placed a to go order for the curry squash and seasonal greens Jamaican patties, which were also delicious. Patties paired well with the Maasai tea mixed well with CUPs Bed-stuy lemonade. We will both be back to experience new additions that would be in place soon!

Yelp
We got a iced matcha and iced latte with gingerbread flavoring. We were very impressed with the flavor variety and had a hard time choosing! The employees were extremely friendly and helpful, making sure we got exactly what we needed. The Belgian waffle was one of the best ever- soft and chewy in the middle and crunchy on the outside! Definitely glad we came here for our tour de Brooklyn

Erika P.

Yelp
Such a lovely & bright café that's perfect to get some work done or people watch. I came on a Sunday afternoon and the place was basically full. They have outlets throughout and free wifi so most people were staying for a while. All of the staff here were super friendly and service was fast. I got an iced tea/lemonade which I can't remember the name of and a lemon pound cake. Both were delicious and refreshing. Can't wait to come back!

Lakisha A.

Yelp
Cause Im going to support a Black Owned business!! Staff is very friendly. I was pleasantly surprised at the various menu options (including vegan). No up charge for plant based milk options. Definitely adding this place to my rotation.

maria k.

Yelp
I thought this coffee shop was delicious. I ordered the flat white and a hot chocolate for my 4 year old daughter. The barristas were thoughtful in making my daughters hot chocolate the perfect temperature for her to enjoy immediately. Ordered the roasted hummus sandwich (my 4YO thought it was too spicy) but we loved it! Would definitely come back here.

Anil P.

Yelp
The coffee was great. But the ambiance and the story behind the cafe is even better. When I came in I was greeted by a fun, full of energy barista, and she made some great cortados for us. I sat here surrounded by other people hard at work, and it was the exact ambiance I wanted.

Clara S.

Yelp
Sadly, I paid, tipped and found myself with a very watery coffee- to the point I politely went back and asked the barista if perhaps a mistake was made brewing (I'm not exaggerating it was undrinkable). He said it was a "lighter brew." I left and threw away a waste of $6.

Moreninha A.

Yelp
Best customer service by Laura and the rest of the employees at this cafe. The ambiance was good, the vibes too. Friendly staff, freshly made food and coffee.

Shari H.

Yelp
Happy to have this in the neighborhood. Black owned coffee shop with Ethiopian coffee beans. They also have a marketplace where all the items are from Black and Brown companies. If you listen to Power 105.1 then you're familiar with Angela Yee. She is one of the owners. I went to CUP on Saturday and was happy to see that they finally opened. The decor is lovely and the space is inviting. They have a ton of options. The food menu is vegetarian friendly and they also offer gluten free options. I would like to try the beyond meat patty next. For my first visit I tried the latte and the yee Rum Cake with Wray and Nephew Glaze. My visit was complete with the CUP experience. The Rum Cake was delish!

Shykir X.

Yelp
first things first, i was extremely excited to find out this was a black owned coffee shop in a great neighborhood. when i came in I was greeted with breathtaking architectural ambiance's. like the interior design is top tier and can definitely tell it was very well thought out. shortly after my shocking observations of such beautiful establishment, i was politely greeted with smiles and hospitality from the manager of this establishment that i feel is rare to find. she was more than welcoming and willing to read the menu off to help me as I inquired about vegan options. her contagious smile & laughter allowed me to instantly feel extremely comfortable with convincing myself, that this spot is definitely going to be a consistent visit. with her help i was easily able to decide on what i wanted. vegan bagel toasted with the (complimentary) vegan butter, topped with a delicious vegan cream cheese that'll have you craving more. the food was perfect & very affordable! i also paired my bagel with a small coffee with oat-milk & it was the perfect combination i never knew i needed lol. i want to extend my thanks to this coffee shop for everything and the amazing customer service 110/10. highly recommend everyone non vegans & vegan to definitely give this place a try!

David W.

Yelp
Really disappointed with the service at this place on 1/4 no have been here before and it was great but I walked in at 5:30 with the doors unlocked and was told they closed at 5. But online and their door says they are open until 6. :( I even added 7 mins on to my trip to stop here.

Simone G.

Yelp
The best coffee place BedStuy has had in a while! The food is great, the decor and ambiance are very inviting and it's a great place to meet, chill, work. I really love the teas.

Cathy K.

Yelp
Tried the beyond beef patty and sorrel lemonade for an afternoon pick me up, we were a bit overloaded on coffee at the time so we'll try that next time. Patty was pretty good, but it seemed like the filling to crust ratio was off, it took way too many bites to reach the inner filling and by then was kind of turned off. Other patty options seemed vegetarian as well. Sorrel lemonade was super tasty and good, disappointed it was $6 for a small 10 oz-ish cup. Boyfriend is from Memphis, so we got a kick out of the Philip Ashley chocolate collaboration CUP has... if you need a gift for a chocolate lover, look no further. Interior decoration and good music is a plus, not sure if this is an everyday coffee spot for me, but definitely a place to meet with friends or for a special treat.

Keia H.

Yelp
Stopped in CUP to warm up and kill some time before we headed to dinner. Cup is an adorable and friendly neighborhood coffee shop. The big windows, wood trims, and friendly faces are exactly the welcoming one needs when a cup of Joe or tea is just out of fingers reach. We tried the cheddar biscuit, lemon loaf, waffle, and croissant. Along with chai tea latte with oat milk and hot chocolates. If you like your drinks sweet don't forget to request it. I'm a full body flavor girl, so I enjoyed the robust flavors of my chai tea without the additives. If you enjoy being hugged from the inside and a friendly face... try CUP.

Bridgette R.

Yelp
first time trying this place past tuesday while working in the field. i loved everything i ate and the ambiance was eclectic and relaxing. i charged my laptop at a cute little window table. i had a almond milk latte with butter cookie i think (whatever it was was perfect) not to sweet and best coffee i've had in a while. i had a toasted almond butter with strawberries and blueberries and honey , it was delicious! the staff was friendly and made me feel welcomed. The owner suggested the avocado toast next time, which i will definitely be back to try!!

Margie G.

Yelp
If you're looking for a place to connect with people and have a cup of coffee, Coffee Uplifts People is the place for you. They also have delicious pastries to try out. When I first came to this place, I met Naomi Raine from Maverick City Music. She had a private listening of her new album Journey. I was able to listen to how she came up with the name of the album, do a short interview and answer some questions about her album.

Rochelle A.

Yelp
Service was amazing. Very attentive. I had coquito latte my husband had carmel latte. We also had curry lentil Pattie and a toast with almond butter and fruit.

Renaissance M.

Yelp
staff should be a little more energetic for one. for two i bought a croissant that was so stale it must have been there for days, it was gross. the mocha i ordered was blah and bitter. underwhelmed for the price, it was too expensive and i didn't enjoy any of it.

Robin W.

Yelp
This place was the highlight of our visit to Brooklyn. Beautiful space, delicious, interesting food, like jamaican patties as well as european pastries and avocado toast, not to mention the most perfect espresso drinks we've ever had. Great playlist too! And cool people in the cafe. Check out this amazing cappuccino art!

Elisa H.

Yelp
Cool pretty sterile spot. Good intentions w a low carbon footprint, love one love all vibe. Best customer service because the barista walks the coffee to you. Kudos to service on another level.

Edith D.

Yelp
I have been at this lovely cafe-- double height ceilings with a swirled green velvet cushioned seating snaking around the plant filled oasis-- a few times now and loved their coffee drinks and always good looking staff. This evening I stopped by for picking up pastries at theme of the day on the cheap using an app called Too Good to Go. It's a great way to lower food waste and Lee everyone happy. Anyway, we showed up a bit early so I bought a cup of chia pudding for my 13 year old son who's always hungry. The manager apologized that he was out of pastries for the day but asked if he could prepare a turkey and cheese croissant for us... Yes please! And it was lovely and devoured with glee by said son. He even packed the last croissant for me. This manager, the whole atmosphere is welcoming, kind, and considerate beyond compare. Looking forward to sitting here soon with a good book and a tall lavender ear grey tea. Just perfect!

Max P.

Yelp
I watched them let the espresso machine run for 2 minutes until the cup was completely filled up and then serve it to a customer..Its also a weird corporate ambiance in there. And the drinks are like $7 so they should be made properly.

Patti D.

Yelp
Great place to work on your laptop, because there's ample space/tables, comfy seating, and doesn't get crazy busy (though I don't remember if they have outlets...I'm gonna assume they have some around given how long people stayed their working and how spacious it is). The workers are welcoming, friendly, and chill. The decor is fresh, beautiful, and clean. I'm also pretty sure it's Black-owned (and that Angela Yee is one of the owners).

Ryan D.

Yelp
I'm sad to say, but I've come here twice now, and each time they provided one of the worst lattes I've ever had. I'm not sure if it's the equipment, the technique, or hopefully just growing pains in what seems to be a promising black-owned business, but there is no way to justify $6 on a latte so unpleasant I can easily outdo with my Aeropress at home. I truly hope they improve, because I want this place to succeed. As it stands now, I just can't see it.

Jeffrey H.

Yelp
Very expensive. I ordered a medium red-eye (coffee with an added shot of espresso) and a breakfast sandwich and was charged $19. ???? Needless to say, I ain't going back to this place. Coffee was just OK. Typical Boutique coffee spot flavor. Nothing special at all.

Yelp
To add insult to injury after the chai mishap and now low key trauma after the Hispanic female manager verbally attacked and chastised me! Two hours later as if I'm a grade school child. Just disgusting and unprofessional, attacking my character as if she knew me. I ordered a chai tea with almond milk and agave at 3:16p patiently waiting for 15 minutes and 2 staff at register! Meanwhile a male shows up about ten minutes after me, then next thing I hear and see is the chai that I ordered given by new girl to him at about 3:38p, instead of me and she saw me at register as I ordered way before him! I've come here so much I literally earned a pin for 1400 points and to now be made to feel unwelcome and just now chased out of the place.. i have never in my life had this happen from any NYC, or while living in DMV. This unprofessional manager gaslighting me and attacking me, so now I'm extremely traumatized. What I experienced earlier was one hell of a sexist, disrespectful, then colorist incident and this nonsense is unacceptable. It is sick and sad how some women have internalized sexism and are quick to serve a male instead of a woman. I was so disgusted I no longer was in the mood for the chai, asked for a refund and got lemon water instead. Please train your staff on such as I've been coming here since last year and patronize several times a week but an incident like this ensures I'll never return here. And then furthermore, the colorist way the female Hispanic manager thought she can ask to have a meeting with me, mind you I have a doctorate and was working on a training. I refused she pushed on then gaslit me, stepped in my face in a threatening way, to me as a dark brown skinned woman. She was talking all kinds of nonsense, just outrageous, unprofessional, low class and unacceptable. Thank God my days are numbered in this neighborhood. But in meantime I'll rather go to places like Ginjan also nearby and owned by a fellow African, where I can feel welcome again, and I don't have to face all the isms, poor service and disrespect at CUP. Never again.

Robbie C.

Yelp
Place is AWESOME. Great coffee, great vibe, great people. Cookies and pastries are delicious. Highly recommend and will be stopping by anytime I'm in the area. Try their Rum Cake

Dave W.

Yelp
Love this spot. They use tea from Brooklyn Tea which is great but don't sleep on the food. Currently eating their Berbere Chicken Salad Toast which is incredible.

Yany W.

Yelp
Amazing juice, great vibe and extremely warm, kind, generous staff! Totally recommend.

Enzo I.

Yelp
found this amazing place on google, this place has an amazing atmosphere, the kindest and friendliest employees. The food was fantastic the avocado toast and the almond croissant were to die for!

Tamara J.

Yelp
First time here. It's ok so far. The hiccups of having a new business I got and expected. But nothing major. Ambience and vibes was kool and calm. Would come back.

Alan L.

Yelp
Really? The coffee's terrible and the vibe's commercial and gimmicky. There are two excellent coffee shops (POC owned) a block away on either side that actually serve the community...

Jessica J.

Yelp
Super great ambiance inside! A good amount of seating, big tables/counter areas, and the workers are super sweet! Also a big plus that they have outlets!! The coffee is really yummy. If you order a flavored coffee (like a caramel latte) it's on the sweeter side but I don't mind that at all because I love sweet drinks. Would recommend!

Karisha K.

Yelp
Nice vibe, relatively quiet, good work space, bright lights, authentic food options for a coffee shop, and much appreciated varieties for hot beverages. I am looking forward to the natural juices -- they were marked as soon come when I visited.

Ryan M.

Yelp
The vibes here are immaculate. The space is beautiful, design excellent, music solid, and team members extremely friendly. The most important part, the coffee, is also great. I have my go to shops in Brooklyn and this one caught my eye just when driving by and was the first one I said let me check this out. Black owned business as well which I feel is unique in the coffee space. Only reason I'm holding off from the fifth star is I think i would like a bit more diversity in terms of caffeinated menu. And would also like longer open hours.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Best coffee hands down all week while in NY. Saw this place while taking a stroll, we were visiting from Los Angeles. Super chill vibe and seriously the best coffee!Me and my daughter are lactose intolerant, they did not up charge for oat or almond milk. I wish I could find this in LA, amazing coffee that does not punish me for being lactose intolerant.

Sabrina M.

Yelp
This coffee shops is new, sleek and modern but still cozy. The selection of coffee is international. I had a pastry cake that was delicious and sourced locally. They have a number of seating arrangements from tables to high top tables. There are also comfortable banquets for seating as well. I like they they provide ample outlets for charging devices If it's a nice day, they offer outside seating. They also seem to care about customer's' experience. The customer service is not an afterthought. This cafe is a nice addition to the neighbourhood.

Dan G.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Everyone is so nice and the coffee is delicious. 10/10 would highly recommend

Lisa R.

Yelp
Lovely clean open welcoming space with great coffee. So grateful that it's in the neighborhood I am staying in while I visit NY !!!!

Egypt J.

Yelp
Always new staff clearly ownership/ management is an issue here. Overpriced subpar coffee.

Jasper O.

Yelp
Great! Friendly helpful staff! Good food! Wonderful ambience! Very clean! Love it! Definitely recommend!

Sequaña W.

Yelp
Beautiful space! Beautiful vibes. The music selection is great, and the coffee/drink selection is also yummy. Spent a few hours there catching up with a friend and it was such a pleasant experience. Staff is also chill and they seem to work pretty good together and have a nice flow.

Hollie J.

Yelp
I just paid almost $7 for a "chai latte". After a fairly long wait, I was served what tasted like a cold watered down tea with ice cubes dumped in it. I asked if there was a way to make it stronger and the girl looked at me like I had insulted her mother and said "4 minutes, milk." It was undrinkable & since she clearly had zero interest in making it right, I departed $6.75 down (plus tip) and without a drink. Never again.

Laura B.

Yelp
The owners are warm and welcoming, the place is clean and well laid out, and best of all, the coffee is spectacular! So happy that this coffee shop has opened in my neighborhood!
