I came back today after a few months away, having visited regularly before I graduated. Unfortunately, this experience was quite disappointing compared to my previous visits.
When I ordered, the cashier was unusually terse, sticking to one-word questions--"name, size, to-go?"--with no greeting or friendliness. I asked for a latte and a cookie, warmed, to have here, but the cookie was handed to me in a bag instead of on a plate. I clarified again that I wanted it warmed, and she microwaved the cookie--with the bag--for about 30 seconds, which made it so hot I could barely hold it.
The barista who called my name seemed rushed, even though there weren't any customers behind me. I noticed her set down another customer's latte so abruptly that it sloshed and spilled on the counter, which she didn't clean up. When she set down my drink, she did the same thing, although luckily it didn't spill.
The coffee and cookie themselves were still good, as always. However, I was honestly shocked at the decline in service, since I've consistently had great experiences here in the past. I made a special trip to get some work done here, but after today, I'm considering other options for the future.
