"Coffee tastes better when it’s still dark outside and the frost lingers on your breath. These days, beating the traffic is required for a perfect day in Truckee. Those who get up early enough to have time for a stop at Coffeebar on Jibboom Street downtown will be rewarded with locally roasted coffee, paninis, and breakfast burritos." - Julie Brown Davis

It was meh, I love drunk coffee do stuff but figured I try something new. It’s okay I wouldn’t go again it’s very loud and crowded which i mean seems good for them but not an atmosphere I like. I ordered a hot chocolate very simple but it had coffee grounds in it which wasn’t very fun for me but by the time I found out I had already left.

2025-review: they offer several single origin coffees. The barrister will discuss them with you. great place! Better the drink-coffee-do-stuff as they stopped offering single origin coffees. 2024-review: You don't expect high-quality coffee in a place like Truckee. There are three espressos to choose from. They had a very good single origin (that might not be there if you come). Skilled barista. Almond Milk. What else do you need? Oh... yes, and sitting outside is pretty amazing because it is off the main street and not so loud. Definetly a good spot to hang out and enjoy coffee.

Everything was so great from here, both the food and the coffee! Amazing. Views are beautiful. The perfect coffee and breakfast stop! Highly recommend

Google
The low-level chairs are awful for back support. Otherwise, this is a great cafe! Beautiful light, ambience. Wifi, plugs, ample seating for doing computer work. Excellent coffee and baked goods. The music is a little too loud for my preference if you have work calls, but you could go on the patio.

Google
Fabulous coffee shop. Dog friendly patio. Our group had an amazing expresso, lavender tea latte, old brew coffee, and snack. Also saw awesome looking sandwiches people were eating. Highly recommend. Great staff.

Google
Really delicious coffee! Probably the best we have in Tahoe! We also had the croissants there and the best we’ve had in the US. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area!

Google
This coffee shop was really mid for how expensive the coffees were, even for Truckee. We ordered 2 small lattes to go and our order was $19 + a to-go charge slapped on. Very few flavors for the lattes and they weren’t hot. The bathrooms were dirty as well. Cute atmosphere and good latte art but probably won’t come back.

This is my favorite spot for fresh healthy food available early in the morning when I’m driving from California to Nevada. Great chorizo breakfast burrito, avocado toast, etc. Fun fact: they use pasta noodles for biodegradable stir sticks!

Yelp
I love Coffeebar. Someone who's been a barista for almost 7 years I'd say Coffeebar is my top 3 favorite coffee shops in the Reno area. They have amazing coffee. I love their cappuccinos, americanos, and they always have fun seasonal drinks too. I'm also gluten sensitive so them having gf options is amazing! Their gf pumpkin muffin is delightful! They also always have really cute merch and coffee mugs available for purchase. Definitely a great place to come hang out with friends, or so solo and enjoy some me time while reading a book.

Kendra V.

Yelp
This coffee shop gives small town coffee shop vibes. While their parking lot is a little small I found street parking close by. The baristas were friendly, and food and drinks we ordered came out quickly. They encourage eating in and bringing your own reusable cup which I love. The sandwich and coffee I ordered was tasty. The prices are on the higher side, which is expected for the Truckee considering the area, so just something to be aware of.

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Great coffee at an affordable price! Pastries and cold goods for grab and go. They also have their own dedicated parking which made getting in and it a breeze. I loved all the local art available for purchase!

J G.

Yelp
Quality has gone downhill. We asked for a 1/2 caf latte with oat milk and were served a latte with half and half. When we told the barista that wasn't our order she said we had to go back through the long line again so the cashier could correct the order. We also asked for the dressing on the side of the salad we ordered and it came fully dressed. The $14 avocado toast was tiny with a few wilted greens on it. We used to like this place...

Anya V.

Yelp
Delicious food and cute dog friendly patio. Good coffee and nice selection of food - some healthy options too. Great baked goods. Amazing grilled cheese and tomato soup. Love this spot!

Ron R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, harvest cider is a MUST try! I loved this place so much the service was also very fast.

Yelp
Took a weekend trip to Tahoe and grabbed breakfast here on a Sunday morning. The line was out the door but we it didn't take long to order. It's located in a busy corner of town so parking is a little tough, but they have a small lot nearby. Lots of seating inside and outside if you bring dogs. Very clean shop. We ordered a matcha latte and breakfast sandwich with bacon. The matcha wasn't good, very watered down. But the sandwich was really really good! The eggs were cooked perfectly and we really liked the bread. Giving 3 stars because the service was rude. I know it was pretty busy when we went but we felt like the baristas lacked manners when calling out orders and talking to customers. I saw the employees also arguing with another customer about their order.

Joy F.

Yelp
We try to make a stop at our favorite coffee shop in Truckee. It's become more popular in the past years that I think they opened a new location, too. They upped their merchandise game also with more branded items for this location. Ordered the seasonal cider, latte, grilled cheese and burrito. All were good, but be informed that if you take it to go, there will be a charge. If I had known and if I had time, I'd probably would have eaten in to enjoy the space too. The little chocolate donut like thing was the highlight of my order, thinking I should have gotten two. Next time.

Yelp
Went out for a morning stroll and stumbled upon coffee bar in truckee , it had a nice outdoor eating area and the entrance of the cafe is giving the vibe of like a step up movie if that makes sense , the bakery items smell delicious and the taste delicious too . I ordered their special scone which was flavored with black berries it was sweet and sour and perfect 8.5/10 the coffee I ordered was a caramel iced latte with oatmilk. This one was ok it wasn't the worst but also not the best the coffee flavor was mild and the caramel was kind of bland . Food wise this place is definitely worth checking out but coffee is kind of mid .

Leah B.

Yelp
What a great find in downtown Truckee! The drinks and the service were exceptional! My husband got a caramel macchiato and I got a dirty lavender latte which was amazeballs! I really like the art they have on display.

April W.

Yelp
The service is great and the baked goods are amazing. The croissants are some of the best i've ever had and i ordered more to take home for the family...all the way back to Sacramento! I dig the hipster-modern-granola decor and the coffee was straight forward and well done. I now recommend it to anyone who hoes through truckee. Both locations are fantastic.

D M.

Yelp
Ordered oat latte, avocado toast and PB toast - the coffee taste was really good but it was COLD. When requested to reheat they refused .. it was snowing outside and cold coffee was definitely not what I was looking for. The Avo toast was not toasted and the bread was cold. PB toast was good but toasted on a lighter side. Would not go there again

Yelp
Met up with some friends in Truckee as we headed back to Utah. The coffee shop was situated off the main street and had a nice little parking lot next to it. We walked in around 7 a.m. and it was completely empty besides one person sitting in the corner. We were able to order quickly (an iced oat chai latte, cappuccino, ham and cheese croissant, and a breakfast sandwich) and then sat at a table for our friends to arrive. Our food arrived before our drinks and we loved them. The ham and cheese croissant was heated up nicely and super flaky and savory. The sandwich was soft and tasty, and we even influenced our friends to order one, too. As for our drinks, the chai latte wasn't too sweet which was a refreshing surprise, and my partner enjoyed his cappuccino. We'll definitely be back again when we pass through next time.

Kimberly N.

Yelp
I love Coffeebar and have been to the Truckee location, and both locations in Reno, several times. But after my recent experience at the one in Truckee, I'll likely skip it there the next time I want coffee while in town. It took a very long time for my two orders to be ready, and I was fine with that. What I wasn't fine with was how rude the barista was to me. Milk was not available on the back table, soi I politely asked her if it would be possible to get some for my husband's coffee. She basically frowned, sighed, glared, grabbed the milk and poured a little in. I told her sorry, that what she poured was enough and then she slammed the milk container down (it was a show to tell me I was putting her out) and she got back to work without another word. While their coffee is good, it is too expensive to be treated this way.

Tiffany K.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years. It is kind of tucked away, a block off the main street. They do have a small parking lot but street parking is plentiful. I love their indoor and outdoor patio seating area as well as the selection of baked goods and coffee drinks! My favorite go to is the turmeric latte. Although they now have five locations (Menlo Park, Reno, Olympic Valley, Truckee and Redwood City), this location in downtown Truckee is the original cafe. There is always a selection of cool artwork on the walls and the vibe is pretty chill. Last time I was here I bought some merch consisting of a Coffeebar-branded Miir insulated water bottle! So fun!

Ellen D C.

Yelp
Looking for that perfect pick me up? This is the place no mater what time of day. Excellent coffee with the breakfast, lunch or snack. A block behind the Main Street in Historic Truckee. Service is friendly and flexible. Very reasonably priced. A real "necessary" stop if you are near the area.

Matt L.

Yelp
Breakfast here is amazing Love the ambiance and friendly service as well Great spot for coffee and friendly Conversation

Melissa C.

Yelp
Nov 10th, 2022 Came in to grab some whole bean coffee and this place had some pretty huge croissants and other baked items that looked delicious. I bought some coffee, $21 for 12 oz! WOW! This, Manuel Gomez, ain't playing around with his beans!!

Greg S.

Yelp
When the sign on the door states "ALL ARE WECOME" I know they are going to be cool inside. This is a great hangout off of the main drag. Lots of outdoor seating, some under cover. The interior is super clean and kitchy cool...with fun and interesting local art on the walls. Great service by, well everyone inside. And, all the patrons had a nice happy vibe which is obviously contagious while you are here. Coffee is great too!

Justin G.

Yelp
Not one for leaving bad reviews but chick behind the counter was obviously having a bad morning, huge attitude, and told me they were "out of breakfast burritos" one hour after opening on a Thursday morning. Give me a break. Won't bother stopping by again when passing through.

Tommy J.

Yelp
Had a business meeting in Truckee and decided to meet at this coffee shop. It's a really nice coffee shop, people are friendly and many indoor and outdoor tables to sit at your laptop conduct business or just have a nice snack and coffee. Parking is definitely tight. I had to use the pay system but it was only a dollar an hour. That coupled with a four dollar large Americano, it is definitely worth the visit. I will definitely come back. Also the coffee had a really nice smoky roast aftertaste it was quite a surprise. Definitely delicious.

Susie M.

Yelp
Perfect late morning stroll stop. I was greeted warmly and welcoming by August, he also made the best seasonal option recommendations and both did not disappoint, super duper delicious! While I dinned in the staff was actively cleaning up after guest, they even came and picked up my plate. Sitting indoors was peaceful and tranquil. Had to revisit, and I'm glad I did!

Joan S.

Yelp
Our go-to place for coffee and bakery items! Never leave Tahoe without a stop at Coffeebar. Wonderful service! Friendly & welcoming.

Seth R.

Yelp
Absolutely love coffeebar! I'm not usually a pumpkin flavored anything person, but their pumpkin caramel chai is AMAZING! I think the ginger spice apple cider is my favorite drink, but I have not been let down by anything I've tried. Their food is good too, but popular items tend to run out pretty early in the day. I'm a huge fun of the avocado toast and the grilled cheese with tomato soup. Everyone here is always nice, seems chill, and they wore masks all of the pandemic.

Theo M.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance, amazing art, great people, great chai, great vibes. They have 2 all gender bathrooms with one being accesible, and have free wifi. They are also running an earth month campaign during April where you get $0.50 off when you bring your own cup, as well as offering 20% off all retail mugs and tumblers.

Emily R.

Yelp
Favorite place for coffee in Truckee and do have lots of options!! Service always good and food is tasty. Can sit inside (abit noisy) or outside- my preference and there is plenty of seating inside and out. Also enjoy buying coffee they sell.

Coco W.

Yelp
Friendly service, beautiful baked goods, cool interior and a block off the beaten path which is really nice! The lavender lemonade/black tea iced tea is literally the best arnold palmer I've ever had. Not too sweet and so refreshing

Preeti R.

Yelp
This cafe is located very close to the main street, we stopped by twice on the same day. Their coffee drinks, chai and matcha latte were all well made. I got an iced matcha latte and it had the perfect amount of nutty flavor without too much bitterness that matcha drinks can sometime have. Friendly service and the barista took her time making our drinks, some of them were custom orders like a peppermint frost latte. Casual cool vibe, they also have a nice patio. Great coffee spot for your caffeine fix when in Tahoe!

Tom J.

Yelp
Sat down to write a review for my favorite coffee shop and discovered I'd written a review several years ago. Dang, I must have been in a bad mood that day. Not the best to judge a place based on one experience of one item. Coffeebar is far and away my favorite coffee shop due to the fantastic coffee (I prefer the medium roast) and the great variety of healthy food choices. It's my go to spot whenever I'm in Tahoe or Menlo Park. I wish they'd open one somewhere near where I live in Lafayette.

Jana H.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this spot! For starters, it looks like somewhere I would hang out all day. It also seems like a local spot that is very crowded and gets great business. The menu is full of really tasty sounding drinks and food/bakery items. Also have a lot of fun seasonal drinks (assuming they have them year round). Food wise, enjoyed both the chorizo and veggie breakfast burrito. They were both tasty, loved that they had black beans and were toasted, but feel like they could have used more egg. Also a bit pricey, but not surprised at the price for being at a hip coffee shop. 4/5 for them. Would definitely try other food items. Drink wise, enjoyed their Americano, the flight (which came with espresso, a cortado, and an 8oz drip), and an espresso tonic. The flight was awesome and loved being able to taste three different items. Espresso tonic was super unique and the flavor definitely grew on me. Flight and tonic were super reasonably priced. Would 100% go back and 100% recommend!

Maggie K.

Yelp
Cauliflower has the most delicious curry flavor and the sauce on the rice was not too rich or creamy it was refreshing. Good combination of flavors. The cabbage and pumpkin seeds added good texture with the avocado. My only criticism is there was not enough cauliflower. Energy bite was the perfect dessert, not too chocolatey had the perfect flavor and texture. I would eat 12 of those.

Joe S.

Yelp
Food was good. Ambiance is nice. Clean restrooms. Service was ok. We waited 15 mins for a frittata and it seems they forgot about it. I went to the pick up line and was told to go and wait in the long order line to tell them they forgot our food. This is why I don't like being asked for a tip before the service. They were apologetic, but, what a waste of time just sitting there letting our other food and drinks get cold waiting for the rest of our order.

Raimond S.

Yelp
I have been subscriber for their beans for some time and was nice to visit their coffee shop. I had espresso shot and it was well balanced, on the brighter side and delicious. This place makes modern, high quality espresso. I worked there for couple of hours. It had good internet and lots of space. It also had outside seating. It has shared parking lot with other nearby shops. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Lisanne W.

Yelp
Great indoor and outdoor space--the chorizo burrito and masala chai latte were phenomenal, but the service just wasn't great..

Aman G.

Yelp
This is always our go to coffee shop when visiting Truckee and it's a tradition for us to make this our first and last stop when in the area. They have tons of breakfast and pastry options that are gluten free and they are all delicious. We love their pumpkin donut holes, blueberry bran muffin, almond croissant. They have a fabulous avocado toast as well. Their coffee is so smooth and they have good non-espresso drink options - turmeric latte and matcha latte are great. Definitely pay them a visit when you're in the area, you won't be disappointed. They have great indoor and outdoor seating and the employees are always so upbeat and friendly.

emily m.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop when you walk in. When we got in, it was around 130, so most of the pastries were picked over and gone. The chocolate croissant looked really good, but too big for the small snack I was looking for to go with my coffee. We decided on a brownie. While the brownie was good and had a gooey consistency, it was a little off-putting that it was ice cold. I was not expecting that. Since I had never been here before, I kept it safe with a mocha. It was ok. I had higher hopes for better flavor, but it was pretty bland and not as hot as I normally like my coffee. The people who work here were nice, and the service was decent. The girl who took my order asked if whole milk was ok and I asked if they had nonfat and she said "sure I have 2%" lol uhh ok, I decided to just go with the whole milk instead. Cute little place, a little overpriced, but I guess that's normal now.

Andrew D.

Yelp
Super cute place, seasonal drinks such as the gingerbread latte are really good. Try their hot aople cider! It's a bit hard to find, but a bit of walking + google maps will do the trick. They're open late! So it's nice to be there to study or if you need to do anything late. If you're here to study however, it's write loud. Good for 1 on 1s or hangouts. Super nice workers too, great experience!

Amy M.

Yelp
You don't find very many places that have actual good tasting coffee. This place has great pastries as well. It's beloved by locals and always busy, but they are quick and have ample shaded seating outside. Would definitely come back for the fun vibes.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
I love coming here after snowboarding at Northstar. Their veggie burrito is delicious with their sides of salsa and sour cream. I love how there are beets in it. They have a parking lot, but it is small. Their crossiant and bakery goods are pretty good too. The only downside is if you don't see something on display, there's a good chance they're out of it.

Cat M.

Yelp
Have stopped by here a couple times now. 10/10 matcha. Great vibes coffee bar, see you next time

Lindsay W.

Yelp
Always such good coffee and the nicest workers! Tons of baked goods to choose from, and the good menu is always delicious.

Katie L.

Yelp
Coffeebar has great pastries, overnight oats, and avocado toast. My family cleaned their plates.

John Lee D.

Yelp
You know a place is for locals and it's really good when you have a line out the door, but just once, but thrice during the late morning/early afternoon. It was so busy that I thought to order everything through their online option in hopes it would be a quicker experience. For some reason, the online order had an issue with their system. I waited longer than it said so, but the manager Chester was quick to respond and make it right. The drinks and food were prioritized. Coffee and food were just as good as the customer service.

Gillermina N.

Yelp
Loved breakfast and great selection. Nice patio if you wanna take your pups. The egg sandwich and chorizo burrito were amazing. Highly recommend.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Cute little location, and I'm happy to be able to stop here. It's always a toss up when all coffee shops in the area are small business coffee shops. The customer service was amazing though. My little sister ordered an iced latte, and was given a small hot latter. When asked if they would be able to remake it, they did so no problem. The cost was different between the two and even without asking us to pay the difference they were able to take it over. It was perfect, and we loved their lavender limonade. If you get a chance to stop in here, grab a sticker. Try something new!

Laura S.

Yelp
The little town of Trucked is small & quant. The Coffee Bar seems to be the hub for locals & visitors in the morning. Everyone is welcome! Lots of seating inside and out. Dog friendly. We ordered an iced matcha & a cold brew, both delicious and hit the spot on a warm morning. My husband got the Paleo bowl. I got the Avocado Toast. Both were good. The avo toast had a bit too much red pepper flakes for me but still delicious. The Paleo bowl was ok as well. The atmosphere & coffee were the real selling points. We will definitely stop again when in town.

Kyle V.

Yelp
I spent $50 in food to go. They gave me my food and I noticed there wasn't a fork. I asked for a fork to go and they told me there a new law in truckee that charges for forks. You would think that after spending $50 in food, they would just cover the .25 for the fork, I had to run my credit card for 0.25. Just bad business. I'll never go back.

Vadim P.

Yelp
Whoever runs the kitchen here doesn't seem to care much about what comes out of it. Ordering a sandwich in a place that claims to be a bakery is usually a safe bet. Sadly, not true here. Salmon and cream cheese sandwich. The marbled rye bread it was served on looked like it came from the nearby Safeway. The menu says it includes arugula and pickled onions, both were absent entirely. We also ordered a shakshuka (a special that day). It is served in a small bowl, closer to a side dish in size than a proper entree. Rather than an egg being cooked in the sauce as in proper shakshuka, this one simply included a poached egg placed on top. The menu claimed it comes with a house flatbread, I found it closer to a store-bought pita.

Carla A.

Yelp
Beautiful shop, delicious pastries and coffee served in sustainable cups. Nice to see compostable tableware, PCR lids and metal cups for water. Love a business that considers the health of Mama Earth.
