Texas Launches $50 Million Loan Program, Which Could Help Restaurants | Eater Austin
"A San Antonio coffee-roasting operation and cold-brew bar run by Patricia and Clint Butler that was among the first food-and-drink recipients of a Goldman Sachs–backed $50 million relief package for businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The funding was provided through the federal Paycheck Protection Program and Goldman’s 10,000 Small Business initiative and was distributed locally by a San Antonio nonprofit intermediary; recipients must document after eight weeks that funds were used for payroll and eligible expenses (rent, utilities) to qualify for loan forgiveness." - Nadia Chaudhury
Great little coffee shop. The horchata cold brew was the best. You don’t need to add anything extra to this, the staff makes it perfect. The s’more coffee was also awesome, very tasty and comes with a toasty s’more on top. The staff is very nice and friendly. Don’t expect your coffee to be ready immediately, this ain’t Starbucks. This is better then that. Just place your order and take a seat. Something this great tasting and perfect takes a min to put together.

This place is downright adorable!!
The most important is the coffee! I have been told it is the only location that heat roasts their coffee beans. Which adds to the flavor as opposed to flame roasted (?). You would have to ask the staff for the specifics of how it's done but the quality is high-end. I've also heard the owner has been to Costa Rica herself and has hand picked some of the coffee beans. Which I find adds to the character of this little hidden gem and shows me she has a passion for her craft. I've had one of the tea options which was very soothing and delightful, but more importantly I've had a mocha and horchata - oh my goodness I'm in love. I'm not a big straight-coffee drinker but even the nitro I had was pretty good. I also recently had one of their cookies that are available and while it wasn't freshly made it wasn't stale nor old either.
I cant comment on the pricing because what I order is usually off menu but they look like standard prices of a coffee shop, and the variety is always nice. Your stand alone cup could be $3-$6 but I've paid $6+ for my horchata which I think is defo worth it.
The atmosphere and decour are very unique. You can come here to open up a laptop and work or just sit and chat with friends over a hot or cold beverage. It is so tastefully decorated that I find myself scanning the room and taking in all the details every visit. I was informed the tiled floor is original and was installed with the building which has been considered for a historical monument.
The staff always welcomes me with a friendly smile and positive additude. Liz has crafted my drinks so far and has impressed me with her talent and efficiency each and every time. She is very sociable and I always see her keeping busy despite slow business hours.
The only two things I might touch upon that caught my attention is firstly the payment situation was a little confusing. Im under the impression now that you order first and relax - then pay before you leave - but even locating the payment kiosk was difficult since it is hidden slightly behind a pillar. Secondly it was brought up to me that there is a lack of menu options for children. There are plenty of games and books for kids to pass the time with but not many things for them to drink aside from maybe soda.
Other than these two things, I highly recommend this location. I have yet to have a negative experience here and thus far my beverages have been top notch.

I passed by with my wife to get a quick breakfast and some coffee. You can really taste the authentic coffee beans imported from Columbia and I love the owners mission to support women owned businesses in other countries. Yocasta made us a tuna melt and avocado melt and they were delicious. It paired well with our Iced mochas and was an excellent start to our day. I recommend you pass by in the morning to take your time and create a custom coffee with the barista.

FIRST THING: Patricia knows her coffee! Aside from importing coffee from her family plantation in Columbia, she works with 30+ women owned producers across South America and Africa. Nothing is better than coffee that warms your heart and soul.
After letting Patricia know my coffee preferences she recommended a roast to meet my taste buds.
SECOND THING: This coffee house is so adorable!
I am looking forward to visiting again. Please support your local San Antonio businesses.
