Stopped by today to grab a caramel cookie crumble latte. My husband came outside with the drink on the left. I love “spreading sunshine” but when I had him go back in to verify I had the right drink because online it shows something completely different and he was told they don’t know why the pictures are online like that because the drink he has is correct, is a massive let down. Wasn’t expecting whipped cream as the description says such but definitely did not expect my purchased drink to look nothing like the photo advertised. The whole reason I chose the drink in the first place was the description and picture.

I never get specialty coffees because they're expensive & taste like gas station cappuccino, but this place, just, WOW. This was by far, the best one I've ever had. I stopped with extended family and we sat outside. I enjoyed it so much that I got another before we left. This place has absolutely ruined coffee for me. I drink multiple cups of different brands of drip coffee throughout the day, and they all taste bad now. I plan on stopping every time I drive past. The kids absolutely loved walking through the funeral home, checking out the vintage hearses. This place is most definitely worth the stop. I'm glad I don't live nearby because I'd be broke.

Loved the spooky vibe. The tampon/diaper donations were great to see. The coffee is consistently delicious. Best nutty flavors too! Shelia brings so much light to this place🖤 if you don’t like amazing coffee plus other options, come just for Shelia!!

Met and chatted with the manager. She was so friendly and informative. The drinks and pastries were amazing and the little hand written quotes were so sweet. Make sure you go see the horse drawn carriage and buy a awesome shirt too!

I’m always on the hunt for unique food and drink spots around Charlotte and beyond, so when I heard about a coffee shop located inside a funeral home in Concord, I knew I had to check it out. Yes, you read that right—Coffin House Coffee is the only one of its kind in the U.S., making it one of the most unusual finds I’ve come across. The curiosity alone was enough to get me in the car and on my way to see what this place was all about. Before my visit, I did a little homework on their drink menu, and I was immediately intrigued. Their offerings are not just inventive but are regularly updated with creative seasonal specials that sound too good to pass up. I’m seriously considering making a bingo card to work my way through the entire menu! On my first visit, I went for “The Coach” frappe, a drink that perfectly captures the nostalgic flavor of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Be warned, though—these drinks are sweet, but they’re also absolutely delightful and refreshing. I also had the pleasure of meeting the manager, Tawny, who is hands down one of the friendliest and most enthusiastic people I’ve met in the area. She’s incredibly passionate about Coffin House Coffee, ensuring that every customer leaves completely satisfied. I witnessed her dedication firsthand when she stayed late to serve a mother and daughter who showed up just after closing. That kind of customer service is rare these days, and it left a lasting impression. If you’re looking for a unique coffee experience with top-notch service, make your way to Coffin House Coffee. They’re open Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM and Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM. You won’t want to miss it!

Google
My favorite coffee shop! I wish they weren't 2 hours away. 😪 The drinks are so delicious, and the Beard Bakes treats are a nice complement to the coffee. Their current Alice in Wonderland specials are top-notch. We tried the Mad Hatter and Queen of Hearts today and we couldn't have been more satisfied.

Google
We have passed this place so many times and today we finally went in and it was the best decision we made! The coffee is amazing, Ms. Sheila made a holiday themed coffee menu. The Krampus is perfectly sweet and delicious. The Spirit Lifter is a must try. We highly recommend stopping by!!

First timers! And it was everything we expected and more! Coffee and muffins were amazing! We’ll definitely be regulars!

Yelp
I was having a bad day and decided to treat myself with my favorite drink. When I received my delicious drink and this was written on the cup. I needed to see this and it boosted my spirits. The staff is always friendly and I feel so welcomed when I walk in the door. I also love the atmosphere too. I recommend this coffee shop to anyone who is looking for a great cup of coffee in a unique setting!

Yelp
Loved this place! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming in such a warm way! It's a small and quaint little coffee shop located at the side of a funeral home. That may sound strange, but their mission and way of honoring and celebrating life and serving people is so beautiful and inspiring. And the coffee was so good and reasonably priced. I ordered the Mothman which was a fall special- Brown Butter s'mores latte with Oreo topping. Super delicious, 10/10 would recommend if it is still there. Overall a great place with an awesome mission and tasty coffee, what more could you ask for???

Yelp
This place is right next to a funeral home which makes it unique. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The latte I got was very good. The prices are reasonable. The coffin decor inside was cute.

Yelp
I have been wanting to check out this funky coffee shop for quite some time. This morning I was on my way to the hospital in Concord and decided it was the perfect opportunity. The sweetest lady greeted me and I could tell by the conversations she was having with the other customers that she knows her regulars well:) I wanted a cold brew with some type of cold foam and she didn't hesitate to whip me up the perfect drink, Heaven on Earth. The drink is adequately named since it was delicious! She wrote a thoughtful message on my husband's coffee and was sure to tell me she would be praying for him. I will definitely be back:)

Yelp
What a cute and unique coffee shop located in Concord! The last thing I thought id be doing is visiting a coffee shop inside a funeral home but how fun is this?! Its even funeral home themed inside which adds to the fun of our visit. Not only is the space cute and unique, but the coffee was absolutely delicious. We got one of the March specialty drinks with bourbon caramel and toffee and it was to die for. Our barista was friendly and attentive and this is definitely a spot I'd visit frequently if I lived in the area!

Yelp
Delicious coffee and such a cool concept. I got The Craftsmen and it's so tasty! The concept of having g a coffee shop attached to a funeral home is such a neat idea.
google avatar

Jake P.

Yelp
Yep, it's a coffee shop in a funeral home. There is a separate entrance door for the coffee shop, but it's the same parking lot and building (and restrooms). They play the theme well with the decor and the drink names. Service was great! The smoky Joe was really tasty.

Yelp
The Aesthetic: Cute, spooky coffee shop in a family-run funeral home with afterlife themed drinks and pastries. I read someone's review about it being too spooky themed, but I think it was respectful and classy for patrons to enjoy. The workers were kind! The Price: The prices were reasonable and competitive with other themed coffee shops around CLT metro. The Parking: There was a dedicated lot with tons of parking around the building, we didn't have any trouble getting a spot. My Order: The Undertaker (Andes mint latte) and The Heaven on Earth (Vanilla cold brew) were both delicious and not too sweet. My favorite was the Black and White Brownie, I will come back again just for this! The Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie was also awesome, but I forgot to take a picture, it was too good! The Conclusion: Whether you're grieving, celebrating someone's life, or just coming by for your morning coffee, this is the coolest coffee shop in Concord. It's a must try, don't knock it til you try it.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend love this place! We love the friendly staff and the cool atmosphere and of course the drinks. He loves getting the Caramelized Smoky Roast and I love getting the Espresso Frappe. It makes a good date place for us! We will continue going here!

Yelp
Super cute coffee house in a working funeral home. Excellent coffee and great service, and cute merch!

Yelp
Maybe it's just me, but I am always looking for spooky things to do, no matter what time of year it is. I saw a friend post about Coffin House Coffee and I was instantly intrigued. A coffee shop in a funeral home?! Tell me more. So, Coffin House Coffee is located in the back side of Hartsell Funeral Home. It has a separate entrance and everything, but there is a glass doorway leading from the coffee shop to the inside of the funeral home, and they share a bathroom. Cheeky, right? They really played to the coffin theme, which I loved! Coffin rugs, a large coffin hanging behind the counter, and all the drink names are delightfully macabre. Lighthearted and fun, but still gives you the slightly morbid rouse you're seeking. The drink I ordered was the Coach, which was a peanut butter and jelly flavored latte. They use Torani syrups here. The first sip I wasn't sure, but the more I drank it and the flavors mixed, it was unique and I really enjoyed it! My mom got the Craftsman, which was almond cupcake flavor and it definitely tasted like an almond cupcake! I felt the service could've been a bit friendlier, but it wasn't bad by any means. This place definitely shines with its unique concept and niche theme!

Yelp
My neice came to visit and we decided to go shopping. They wanted coffee. I am not a coffee drinker so I google coffee shop. Well I did not have my glasses on and when we pulled into the Coffin House I was very surprised. Of course I was a little skeptical! The coffee was amazing! The staff was awesome with it being in the back of the Furneral home I was a little skeptical but the shop itself was very nice!

Yelp
Love the concept and the service has been friendly and warm every time! They have special flavor combos and are happy to recommend as well! Baked goods usually for sale in limited quantities. There are a few tables inside and out but I have always taken to go anyway. Such a cute little spot and drinks are spot on :)

Yelp
I've seen the sign for this coffee shop a few times but was unsure as it is attached to a funeral home in case you're wondering. No worries, they have an entrance on the side. The shop is so cute on the inside. As a huge Harry Potter fan myself, I appreciated all of the decor and drink options that were Harry Potter themed. More importantly they have so many drink options. One size cup only but still a decent size, I believe a 14 oz. I ordered the Hufflepuff hot and it was divine. I also tried their salted caramel bombwiches which has caramel apples in the middle. YUM!!!! So so good!!!! Definitely stop in for their delicious coffee and baked goods, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Curiosity got the best of me and I had to try this place. Good atmosphere, catchy music taste along with nice tasting espresso. I will say, the location leaves a bit to be desired, as it is a part of the funeral home and it does feel a bit intrusive to be sitting down and drinking coffee while people are mourning in the adjourning room along with remains being cremated into ashes.

Yelp
What a super cool place! Don't let the fact that this coffee shop is in a funeral home stop you. This place has a super cool history and the customer service was great. Honestly, the coffee was okay but I would go back and try something else. Also, if you're a local and a Beard Bakes lover, grab some pastries too-we had the lemon roll.

Yelp
This is the coolest coffee shop I've ever been in. Who would have thought to put a coffee shop in a funeral home? But it works and they sure did it right. The drinks all have themed names and it is decorated so cute inside. I've been twice now and both drinks were delicious. They also have delicious baked goods from a local baker.

Randa E.

Yelp
I stop in here most mornings on my way to work. They use a great quality of beans; delicious latte's for sure! They have a large variety of other drinks as well.

Yelp
Everytime I have been here it's been great! Great drinks, nice people and fast service! I love the atmosphere and the look. They're doing it right here.

Yelp
came in primarily to see what would induce a triple-zero meltdown because the business literally explains itself right there on the page and likewise in the store so if you don't get it then that's kind of on you. ...and what I found was a small tasteful coffee spot way back around back, distanced from the whole rest of the place but still convenient. service with a smile and a healthy sense of the absurd that can help take the edge off -genuinely sympathetic stuff, totally not mocking or creepy or icky. really could have used a setup like this earlier in the millennium, away enough to put some distance between people and the reality of mortality but still "there" enough for anyone who needs to be there for the "there-there's..." we all grieve according to our own customs so rather than get wound up that someone is doing it "wrong" have a cup of coffee and maybe a scone and let's compare notes over a game of tic-tac-toe. try the americano, it's pretty good. BTW: where I grew up there's a similar sort of family business with a mini-golf at each of its locations to get over yourself.

Yelp
The girls at the counter were the sweetest! The coffee was delicious and the vibe was great. Had a nice coffee with a friend and they also had games to play of wanted to

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem! We've been trying to support more non-corp cafes, and this is one of my favorites. Its literally part of a funeral home with great history! I love that people posted pictures of the signs on how to get there so we didn't miss it. It's actually really inviting, not creepy or weird. Feels like a cafe with a theme. But it's real!!!!! Coffee selections rotate and they have a LOT to chose from. The Baristas were so helpful and made spot on recommendations for everyone. It was perfect! I really wanted to grab some merch but didn't get a chance. This was also a really fun place to bring the kids to. My daughter is really into Wednesday Addams and this made her smile! Love this place, super clean and adorable. Only inviting vibes felt! Go check them out!

Yelp
My sisters and I we're excited to try the new coffee house after our morning workout. We were interested in their hot gourmet coffee with a pastry. We arrived there at 7:10 am. We were told that the gourmet coffee machine wasn't working correctly when worker arrived and she had to start it again and it would be 20 min before we could get a hot gourmet coffee.....so we asked about the pastries. WELL... they ran out Saturday ( this was Monday) and would not have more until the afternoon. We were so excited to try this new shop and they let us down. Their coffee and pastries may be wonderful but we will never know.

Yelp
0 if I honestly could give one. We didn't understand what the concept was. I understand the need for an escape place to go away to when you're grieving but the name is not appropriate for that. (When I think of the name I think of spooky and sorta messed up) Another 0 for the extremely rude lady. If you are going to explain the concept to me then do so, but DO NOT disrespect me, talk down to me, and or lecture me and my friends saying terms to us like "this is not hot topic" I'm sorry for the misunderstood concept but do not insult me. I'd like to honestly say I have a few choice words to that lady but I sat and I distanced myself from the whole situation. Don't come here the service is terrible and so is the energy. And another 0 because after that whole experience I didn't order any food or drinks or whatever. I didn't even bother to look. (Also how are you going to get upset with me when the names of the coffee is honestly messed up for a "safe environment for mourning families"... View picture below) And if they don't want the public here then say that somewhere. But DONT MOCK ME. Literally don't stand here and mock me. I wanted to support a small business and in no way did I disrespect them but they sure as heck disrespected me.

Bryana D.

Yelp
The friendliest staff and most delicious coffee! The vibe of the shop is very welcoming, cozy and comforting!

Mallory F.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite coffee shop I've been to. I go every week, at least once, and have yet to have a negative experience. Don't understand the 1 star reviews, only can assume they are Karen's and judging the shop for things out of their control. Service is super friendly and impeccable. Coffee and bakery goods are also amazing. If you haven't tried it, it's a must. Outdoor and indoor seating available with great ambiance and vibes.
