I’m always on the hunt for unique food and drink spots around Charlotte and beyond, so when I heard about a coffee shop located inside a funeral home in Concord, I knew I had to check it out. Yes, you read that right—Coffin House Coffee is the only one of its kind in the U.S., making it one of the most unusual finds I’ve come across. The curiosity alone was enough to get me in the car and on my way to see what this place was all about.
Before my visit, I did a little homework on their drink menu, and I was immediately intrigued. Their offerings are not just inventive but are regularly updated with creative seasonal specials that sound too good to pass up. I’m seriously considering making a bingo card to work my way through the entire menu!
On my first visit, I went for “The Coach” frappe, a drink that perfectly captures the nostalgic flavor of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Be warned, though—these drinks are sweet, but they’re also absolutely delightful and refreshing.
I also had the pleasure of meeting the manager, Tawny, who is hands down one of the friendliest and most enthusiastic people I’ve met in the area. She’s incredibly passionate about Coffin House Coffee, ensuring that every customer leaves completely satisfied. I witnessed her dedication firsthand when she stayed late to serve a mother and daughter who showed up just after closing. That kind of customer service is rare these days, and it left a lasting impression.
If you’re looking for a unique coffee experience with top-notch service, make your way to Coffin House Coffee. They’re open Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM and Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM. You won’t want to miss it!
