Çok Çok Thai

"Take a seat on the lively terrace at the front or opt for the authentic interior, and let your mind drift off to exotic Thailand. Here you can enjoy typical dishes such as sweet and sour spring rolls with crunchy vegetables and a spicy aubergine and pepper curry. Crisp, fresh produce, authentic flavours and respect for tradition make this a great place to eat." - Michelin Inspector

My family and I excitedly made our reservation to try thai food since we heard it was the best place for thai food in the city. The moment we walked in, we had a bad experience. The female staff who stood by the door asked us in a rude tone in what name was the reservation made. No hi/hello/welcome/sawasdee ka. Then after a different staff (male) took our order, he asked where we were from - to which we said Thailand. He then proceeded to say that Thai women are kind but ugly... Can you imagine? I may not be Thai by ethnicity but that was where I was born and raised. It was offensive, rude, and completely disrespectful. On to the food - we ordered the spring rolls, tom yum mushroom, tofu kra phao, chicken cashew nuts, and thai style omelet. 1. Spring Rolls - average but the best out of all the dishes ordered. 2. Tom Yum - did not taste like tom yum soup. It was just mushrooms and undercooked vegetables with hot water. I can't even call it a broth. 3. Tofu Kra Phao - decent but lacked seasoning. Pepper hot as opposed to thai chilli spicy. 4. Chicken Cashew Nuts - too salty. 5. Omelet - decent enough and it was made with 3 eggs. Overall, the experience was terrible. Though we said we would prefer authentic thai taste, it was really disappointing. It goes to show that not every restaurant featured on the michelin guide would actually live up to the hype. Poor from food down to service.

Foods and drinks are very average to my surprise for such Michelin award. My high hopes with Thai lady greeting at front desk is not justified at all. Waiting time is too long, we need to remind them to give us our drinks order for more than three times. Price is very expensive for such quality, taste and service. So sorry to see amazing Thai food has such representation in Istanbul 😌 i guess Cok Cok team really need to work harder there….

When we crave spicy, we come here. I love their spring rolls and pad Thai. Very nice atmosphere, food options. Wine and cocktail menu need some work and more options though. Very nice spot for romantic dinner or to hang out with friends.

We waited a long time for our dishes, and only one dish arrived before my friend's, which arrived 15 minutes later. The "large" soup, advertised as being able to replace a dish, was in reality not "large" at all. The appetizer (chicken satay) was good, the meat tender but served at the same time as the dish and cold :(( . The pad Thai had a very good taste but only 3 shrimps for a "pad Thai shrimp" at 852.5 TL is very little... . In short, I do not recommend it, there are very good Thai restaurants in Istanbul for much less money.

We came to this restaurant last year when visiting Istanbul and absolutely loved it, the staff was great and knowledgable with amazing care and the general vibe of the place seemed like a Michelin restaurant. Coming back to this restaurant was one of the reasons why we chose to revisit Istanbul and we were met with absolute disappointment. To start with, the staff was lost and uninterested. The food was blend and the quantities were a joke, everything was smaller and more expensive, and both were noticeable and not minor (attached photos of the chicken satay quantity difference between February 2024 and 2025) We ordered half the quantity of our last visit and paid double, unacceptable! The general feeling we had was that they took every cost cutting measure available to them while pumping up their prices. We left the place hungry and had to have dinner again right after, and that's after paying a premium.

Google
Amazing Thai food near Taksim square. I recommend you to order Thai salad, Green curry and Pad Thai noodles. The price is high but the food is delicious. Service is a little slow and place is a little packed which enables you to listen talks from the next table. I would still recommend due to the Taste of food which is very authentic.

Google
the best thai food in istanbul!!!! the staff is so wonderful with the kindest customer service if that isn’t enough, from the food to the drinks everything is insanely delicious and they customize the spice and flavor to your liking. if you are looking for flavorful and decently spicy food, this is the place to go! my favorite restaurant in istanbul!

Google
On the pricy side but a good stop for a cold drink and appetizers on a hot/humid day. The spring rolls were a little less exciting than expected, a bit sparsely filled. The thai tea and lemonade were both lovely though. The salmon salad we ordered had a nice balance of spicy chiles, acid, basil, and greens.

Yelp
We had a great experience for dinner here. The ambiance outside is nice and location is great for walking around after dinner. The food was very good. We got a chicken curry which was very flavorful. The pad Thai was also good but a little underseasoned for my taste. We also got papaya salad which was excellent. I would definitely go back and highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Giving this place 2 stars for even existing. Sunday, restaurant is close for dining in. We decided to order to take out. Gentleman who took our order was kind. He assured us that they had Vegan options. Great! Lady ordered coconut curry soup with veggies, peanut curry with veggies, veggie egg rolls and jasmine rice. I ordered my go to green curry with chicken, Tom Yum soup with prawns. Also, veggie egg rolls. We were excited to eat food that we both are very familiar with. As we got back to our Air BnB, we were ready to try Thai food in Istanbul. Let's just say, we tried it! Everything was fresh. However, the flavor is not it! It's not making that home run. It has the flavors of the beginning of a dish but doesn't quite take you home. However, we didn't have much expectations. The worse part about it, is the two soggy order of egg rolls we had. It is common sense not to air tight seal fried food. Worse egg rolls ever! Waste of money for to go. Over all, it's nice to know they have Thai food, but I'm sure they can get a good chef to really make authentic Thai food! The ingredients are there. This place is over priced. I don't think we will come back to dine in as I originally planned for date night.

Yelp
Very cozy spot for being near such a busy street. It was also the best Thai food I have ever eaten in my life. Very deserving of the Michelin star. The pad Thai, green curry, fried prawns, and beef stir fry were incredible. Definitely try this place out if you are in beyoglu.

Yelp
If you're a Thai food enthusiast, then this place might end up being a little disappointing. For me, I am grateful that this place exists in a city with so few Thai options. The pad Thai is pretty good and the fried spring rolls are excellent! I love coming here because the service is always impeccable. The staff speaks English and they are always so kind! This is one place I will come back to again and again while living in Istanbul.

Yelp
My family and I wanted a break from Turkish food so we found this Thai restaurant and I'm sooo glad we went! We ordered the fresh spring rolls, the fried veggie spring rolls, pineapple fried rice, the coconut milk and chicken soup (tom ka kai), the green curry chicken, and the beef with oyster sauce and peppers. All 4 of us were very happy with our food. Personally the soup had way too much lemongrass for my liking and had a lot of chicken fat and skin that I picked out (it added nice flavor though). So I probably wouldn't order the soup again. But we loved the pineapple fried rice and the green curry and beef and would order those again. The waiter was very attentive and welcoming. And they offered to close the door for us when it got too warm outside. So overall they were very accommodating and nice. The food came out very quickly as well. I would recommend this place!

Yelp
Çokçok Thai is the bomb! The chef is a master. His dishes we absolutely phenomenal. Çokçok is relatively expensive by Turkish standards (30tl/$10 for a main dish, 20tl/$7 for an appetizer, and 15tl/$5 for beer) but it is well worth it. I can't imagine a better Thai Restaurant in Istanbul or in Turkey as a whole. Highly recommend checking them out if you are in Istanbul and in the mood for Thai.

Yelp
Congratulations, ÇokÇok, you're doing it right! First and foremost I would like to congratulate the waitstaff for being extremely attentive to our needs and patient(!!) as we deliberated for what could have been hours about what we wanted. Well. We finally ordered after lots of help and I couldn't be happier. I got a curried Tofu dish which I was so overjoyed about (I haven't had tofu in years). It was perfect. The soup I ordered also hit the spot - the Tom Ka Kai, It was coconutty and spicy and all things good. We also ordered lovely green tea that was so nicely presented. I was very impressed. My co-worker ordered a beef dish that, although she enjoyed it, looked a bit boring to me. I'm glad I got the curry but will try something with noodles next time. Price wise, yeah, it's pricey. Main dishes are in the 25-40TL price range, but for what you get, I think it's totally affordable. The fact is that the place is very authentic and really is a culinary experience. One HUGE drawback though is that they don't always have Thai Iced Tea. The waiter said they sometimes have it, but it's not on the menu. I'm skeptical. Anyway I would go back again for a special meal and/or if I'm craving some of those hard-to-find ingredients.

Yelp
This place is only for tourists can't put up with Turkish food. The taste is okay but highly overpriced. However since there aren't so much choices around here, I have to say it's the best you can get.

Yelp
I have eaten a lot of Thai in my life, so my expectations were a bit high, especially considering that this restaurant has won awards. Came here one evening while on vacation as my friend and I wanted a break from Turkish food. It was definitely overpriced, but that was expected since we were eating ethnic food in a different country (this seems to be a trend). Anyway, first of all, I do have to say that ambiance is nice. Very relaxing with modern decorations and mood lighting. However, there were some issues with the speakers and we kept hearing the static noise of someone trying to fix them - this definitely distracted from the meal. Service was good and attentive. There was a small mistake in my order (I ordered fried not white rice) but they fixed it fairly efficiently. My issue was more with the food itself. My tom yum soup was extremely tart and lemony with whole lemongrass pieces and just an overall unbalanced flavor. I ate as much of it as I could, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. For my main, I ordered the cashew chicken and fried rice. The chicken itself was fine in terms of texture, but the overall dish was very bland. I was truly disappointed. In the end, we paid somewhere between $30-$40 per person for a mediocre meal.

Yelp
Nice place, very attentive Thai waitress but the food is quite average, especially the Tom Yam Koong tasted more like sour water with mushrooms then the delicious ones I had when I lived in Asia...

Yelp
Not recommended! Not even close to taste Thai. AND when the owner defends the lousy taste, I cannot see improvements in the near future. Stay clear! And btw I know Thai food first hand. For this restaurant, no excuses!

Yelp
Authentic Thai cuisine with a very nice atmosphere. Waitress from Bangkok was a nice touch. We had Thai iced teas, Tom Som, and Pad Kra Prow Kai for lunch. Bill came to around $40.

Yelp
Çokçok is the one of the greatest representatives of Thai cuisine in Istanbul. In fact, it was chosen twice as the best Asian restaurants in Istanbul' by Turkey's prominent gourmets. Some very special recipes from Thai cuisine meets with an authentic decoration and unique architecture at Çokçok and it gets difficult not to have good experience here.

Yelp
We had the Phad Thai. Not that great. I am also used to American Phad Thai so the flavor is a bit different but this had a strange after taste. Probably wouldn't go again.

Diego C.

Yelp
The food and the service were ok until they brought the check and were including a 10% "service fee", which I refused to pay. They try to copy the American tipping culture, so they were nice until I realized about this fee and asked them to remove it from the price. They can include the service fee im the price, even though this place is already pricey for why it offers.

Yelp
The curries were good. Beware the "sea bass" we ordered was really tilapia. The "fried rice" was really white rice with a table spoon if broccoli and carrot added. Apparently the bartender if off on Mondays too.

Yelp
The starters were great I had the chicken satay with the peanut sauce... Delish! Then the Salmon curry, excellent. The green tea cheesecake was also great. Go and have Thai in Istanbul.
