18 Best Beaches in the Caribbean and the Bahamas

"Coki Beach is where you really feel the flavor of St. Thomas." - Travel + Leisure Editors

View Postcard for Coki Beach
@afar

"Small and picturesque Coki Beach is a favorite for its soft white sand and calm, crystal-clear water. While there's only limited shade here, umbrellas are available for rent, as are beach chairs, Jet Skis, diving and snorkeling equipment, and floats. Several snorkeling and dive sites nearby include a rocky reef near shore. Beachside eateries serve up picnic-table fare including burgers, sandwiches, and local dishes. The beach can get crowded when cruise ships are in port, so ask at your hotel whether there are ships dockingthat day before planning a visit."

The beach is small compared to other beaches in St. Thomas. It is a walking distance from Margaritaville. They offer 7.00 per chair and umbrella from 10-30, depending on how big the umbrella is. They sell fish food that you can use to feed the fish. The fish are so used to people and they swim around your legs. You'll see different sizes of fish and colors. It was an easy swim. there was no need to use fins when snorkeling. When we went, they had no rinsing station. They have the sign, but no water and bathrooms were locked. That is something you need to consider if you go to Coki Beach. It can feel crowded because of the size of the beach. Be mindful of your belongings. Use waterproof belt bags to carry your cellphone, credit card, and cash to avoid any issues. We left our towels and slippers on the beach, and we didn't have any issues.

We wanted a great place to snorkel and this is what was recommended by locals. My son and I travelled by taxi from the cruise port to Coki Beach and we saw lots of fish but no turtles. Overall it was a great way to spend our time in St Tomas USVI.

Meagan Borden

Google
Took my kids here (5 & 7) to relax and snorkel for the day. Overall it was very pretty, lots of little fish, some coral if you swim farther out. Didn’t have a great experience with the locals. Always felt pressured to tip, then was yelled at when we didn’t. To be fair, she demanded a tip when we parked near coral world ocean park even though it was free parking. If you don’t mind that, then it’s a great spot to hang for the day!

Darlene Veness

Google
The day that we were there the current was a little strong so from a snorkeler go when it's calm if your a beginner. The fish are used to getting fed and will come right up to you. I think you can buy food for the fish. My rating would be 5 star if it was a calmer day.

Google
Great water clarity and snorkeling A little crowded not a place for kids Locals selling food and drinks didn’t bother me pretty common if you’ve been to any other Caribbean island. Tips Go early before 12 or around cruise ship times for more of a chill vibe Pack food, drinks&chairs to save money

Juan Tejada

Google
Great Beach, the water was warm and clear. The people were nice, and we were able to get chairs and umbrella.

Seth Gilland

Google
Not a good experience. Parking is extremely limited, and it was over crowded. The place is surrounded by run down properties and poorly maintained roads. Many people using Marijuana out in the open....not a place for kids. Too many other nice beaches to visit on this island to waste any time here. We left after 10 mins.

Google
Coki Beach is an absolute favorite when it comes to St Thomas. A local beach with a ton of fun, swimming, sand, snorkeling with or without the gear! Only issue - the secret is out and so many are starting to visit!

Yelp
Heaven! I love this beach so much!!! The water is so beautiful and sand is too. It's never that packed which makes for a nice day on the sand and in the water. It's small but has everything you could ever want from a beach. They have several places to eat and drink and the servers walk around taking your orders for drinks or food and they bring it to you. You can also rent chairs and umbrellas. They have several restaurants to sit down and eat and drink too. We walked over here several times while staying at Margaritaville Vacation Club which is literally a 5 minute walk. I can't say enough good things about this place and the people who work on the island. I can't wait to come back and enjoy it all over again :) Enjoy :)

Yelp
This beach is great. Get there early to avoid getting a bad spot. Waiters/waitresses walk along the beach to get drink/food orders. You can rent chairs, umbrellas, and snorkel stuff. No one pressures you to buy anything. Green friendly. Has a public bathroom. View is beautiful. The drinks are STRONG.

Yelp
Overall the beach area here is pretty nice. It's a small beach that's near the oceanarium just a few steps away. It's not a bad beach for snorkeling or for families as it is fairly shallow - although the water could be a little rough at times (not crazy though). The beach itself isn't very big so it can get very crowded especially as the cruise ships arrive and people who take excursions to the oceanarium next door hop over to get some sun. There is a changing area and shower nearby though which is very helpful. It is also a good beach for snorkeling.

Dan B.

Yelp
Good snorkeling but not as good snorkeling or safe vibe as sapphire beach Very local vibe Stay to right side of beach

Yelp
Beautiful white sands and turquoise water. This beach is run by locals. Parking can be tricky there is a very small lot with rocky terrain spots. --- Bring Cash---- they charge to park. They do have an ATM but it wasn't working when we went. There are many beach vendors walking about. We rented a large umbrella for the day for $20 it was well worth it. The beach is not as big as many of the beaches of St. Thomas or St. John so be prepared. We enjoyed the beach, great snorkeling. Make sure to swim to the reef to the right end of the beach that's where you will find a ton of marine life. Was the second best beach we went to while in USVI. First was Trunk Bay, St. Thomas. Overall we enjoyed our day there. Don't forget your snorkel gear and cash. Enjoy :)

Yelp
If there are more than two cruise ships in port and it's windy definitely skip this beach, but if you want to see and get an authentic taste of St. Thomas coki beach is wild. I think Magens Bay is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for swimming, but we figured Magens Bay would be mobbed with five ships in port. Coki Beach was crazy. To get to Coki Beach from Havensight you'll go over the mountain and through the trees down around the hill and around treacherous curves. I love it. You'll pass two k-marts! Yes, k-mart still exists in STT! You'll even see magens bay on your way back if you're on the right side. As you get closer to the beach keep your eye out for chickens in cages in the trees. When you get to the beach find someone with a menu and tell them how many beach chairs you want and how big of an umbrella. They didn't even charge us for ours. If you love snorkeling and it's a busy day you're in for a treat. A lot of people feed the fish. I don't agree with that, but if you're feeding the fish I'm going to enjoy the frenzy of fish. The day we were there it was windy and rough and there was definitely a rip tide, but I still enjoyed myself and it didn't affect the visibility. You can probably get anything you want on this beach from a frozen drink, fruit juice, fresh fruit, and lots to eat. I didn't engage, but to be frank they weren't too pushy. Now, I had heard rumors of the devil's lettuce. I didn't smell any, but I did see it for purchase. What amused us the most was seeing an iguana and chicken almost duke it out. A chicken and her babies. Honestly it was one of the craziest beaches I've ever experienced and it just felt so STT. Terrific snorkeling. Entertaining wildlife. So many stories to tell around the table at dinner that night with our friends. St. Thomas never disappoints.

Yelp
Went to Coki Beach on a Wednesday evening. It was populated with locals and tourists. The drinks were good you can rent a chair and umbrella while you're there. It's plenty of room on the sand to relax and enjoy

Yelp
Bring your snorkel for a fantastic day at the beach! While we were visiting Coral World we took a break and decided to get our feet wet and look for fish next door. Beach is free but there are plenty of vendors willing to sell you shade or comfort for a few bucks. Other vendors had meals drinks or clothing for sale. On the beach you can purchase just about anything else. Jewelry and hats and edibles are available. We had the best snorkeling on our trip here and we left fulfilled and rested. A must do when in St Thomas.

Yelp
I love Coki Beach for its fun vibe and feeding the fish. We've been to St Thomas twice in the last two years and Coki Beach on a Sunday, for Sunday Fun Day is a must... though it was definitely better in early 2022 when cruise ships hadn't really started coming back in yet after Covid. Coki Beach is a fairly narrow band of sand, so with the cruise ships back in full swing and dropping passengers off en masse it can get crowded, be aware and get there early for a good spot! Parking is limited as well, another reason to get there early, otherwise you risk having to park along the street which can be quite adventurous. Beach attendants offer lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent for a fee. In addition, there were floating lounge chairs and islands available for rent... THEY ARE NOT FREE and using them without paying is definitely frowned upon! If you are planning on staying the whole day, an umbrella is advisable since there really isn't much/any shade to speak of. In addition to the attendants renting beach equipment there are also 'waiters' coming around to order food and drinks from (they usually accept credit cards too)... or you can just get up, walk a few feet and get it yourself from a handful of beach shacks. Food is more authentic than in other places on the island and the frozen drinks are amazing. Snorkel gear is available for rent as well, and there is a dive shop, as well as a little touristy shop selling clothing, hats, sunglasses and such. All this, together with the music being played over speakers, makes for a very fun beachy Caribbean vibe. However, let's not forget the wonderful tropical fish and feeding them, an experience that still brings a huge smile to my face! Fish 'food' can be bought from vendors along the beach and the fish know it... you snorkel up to them and they swarm you eating right out of your hand, dozens of them, it's amazing! Is it the best, most pristine snorkel experience on St Thomas, no, but it is the most fun for sure. We also generally don't swim out too far or around the point towards the aquarium, so maybe it gets better there... for us Coki is about the beach vibe and the swarms of fish waiting to be fed. :) The aquarium, Coral World, offers a variety of experiences, but we've never gone, so have no idea if it's worth the money. P.S. We didn't have any issues with things getting stolen on Coki and we did both bring our cellphones so we could take photos, however, as there is never a guarantee just don't leave anything unattended that you can't live with.

Yelp
This is a beautiful beach and the food probably the best on the entire island. Think lobster tail for $25 a plate; sea bass for $20 a plate and extremely delicious! The chairs rent for $5.00 for the day and the frozen tropical drinks are fantastic! There are a few things that I don't care for at this beach. 1. The music is way to loud so move on down to the quieter part of the beach if you can find one. 2. The whole beach smells like marijuana. 3. There are lots of cruise ship tourists. My advice is to go to this particular beach when the cruise ship is not docked. The music is a lot less noisy when the cruise ships are not there. Order your food at 11:30, they don't open until noon but the bar tender will put your order in and it usually takes about an hour or so to get your food. Order your food with the open air grill area, the menu is in the open air wooden bar. The menu is on a board in the bar. The chicken wings are great but you only get 3 wings and they are $15 so I would skip those.

Yelp
The beach was beautiful and the fellow that rented us our chairs was very helpful. They came and offered us drinks and a menu and the food was awesome and the drinks were exceptional. I had the best fish sandwich I've ever had. After 4 days of being in St Thomas, we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
google avatar

Frances N.

Yelp
Coki is a beautiful beach and the snorkeling is top notch. Coral world was great. Be aware that the way the beach servers work is with raised prices to account for their commission. So an entree from one of the beach restaurants might cost $20 from the restaurant but the servers have a $5 surcharge on the fees to account for getting it for you and serving it on the beach. This is not the tip. All the vendors are really working the crowd, just be prepared for this. And don't leave your valuables at your umbrella.
google avatar

Cheyenne C.

Yelp
Cute beach we stopped at on our way out of Coral World. On the smaller side and pretty populated, but had nice vendors and pretty water. We grabbed a frozen drink from one of the vendors and walked up and down the waters edge a few times.

Yelp
Powdery soft white sand. Crystal clear blue water. An open aquarium in nature filled with tropical fish. Although not as pristine as Magens Bay, Coki Beach is the beach to go to see fish, coral and sea urchins. If you are lucky, you might even see a sea turtle or two. Bring or buy fish food. Pack your snorkel and mask. Get ready for an amazing display under the sea. Blue tang. Rainbow parrotfish. Squirrelfish. Damselfish. Ballyhoo. Sergeant Major. Pencil Urchins. Brain Coral. Turtles. Snorkeling is best by the dive shop on the right side of the beach. Coral World is just across the street. Nice for a walk. Crowded when the cruise ships are in port. Entry to the beach is free. The scuba instructors are great with kids. So easy to take a shuttle from from Charlotte Amalie. Clean bathrooms. Bring a picnic lunch or grab a treat or ice cream from the restaurants along the street. Enjoy a peaceful afternoon at the beach.

Yelp
A beautiful beach in St. Thomas! Definitely worth the trip! We got there early before the crowds, chatted with the locals and were able to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella for the day for only $20 total. The water is absolutely crystal clear and if you stand still fish will swim right up to you! Tip: Get there early to avoid crowds, bring snorkel gear, and bring cash!

Yelp
I love this beach. Been here twice. Once 9 years ago and now again this year. It has a relaxed vibe. Reggae music in the background, blue water, the sound of the waves......... it also helps that it isn't as busy with cruise ship tourists. Parking is $5. We arrived at 1130 and parking was easy, but when we left at 2, the lot was full. The lounge chairs are $5 each and the umbrellas $10. Cash only. The water is calm and very clear. You can definitely snorkel and see a good amount of fish. It isn't super rocky, but I would wear water shoes. Food and drink is available. They mostly accept cash, but some will accept PayPal or Venmo. I didn't see anyone accepting credit cards. If you want to take your own chairs, arrive early for a spot under the shade. The bathroom was surprisingly clean. Bring hand sanitizer cause the sink wasn't working.

Yelp
This was an awesome beach experience for us. Seating on the beach was arranged perfectly for our party of 4. The restaurant had great adult beverages and even tastier food. The overall vibe and music were perfect. We will definitely visit again.

Cyndi D.

Yelp
Very small beach but pretty view and very good snorkeling at either edge. Small shops and bars. Drinks can be ordered from your chair. Gets crowded but everyone was nice.

Yelp
Concise Review Great snorkeling, soft sand, beautiful blue water - do go and enjoy! Chairs and umbrellas are available for rent - worth it... do rent them! ----- Longer Review We visited St. Thomas, USVI, for the first time in 2021, and had a great time. One of our more memorable days included snorkeling at Coki Beach. After a short van/taxi ride from our hotel, we waked a few steps to the sand, were were greeted by a nice gentleman who setup chairs and umbrellas for us.... $10 apiece and quite worth it... the sun's wonderful but it's also intense here in the tropics, so you need shade... you pay up-front... remember to tip him well. Coki Beach - BEAUTIFUL water - so many shades of blue; great sand! - Great snorkeling... We saw tiger fish, leather jackets (fish with yellow stripes along their top and bottom and through the tail but rest of their body was silver), princess parrotfish (deep multicolor.... deep blue/green to purple to yellow on the side), and squid... 12-16 inches long, "hovering" a foot or so above the bottom... wow! - There are waitresses who will bring your drink and food orders... do remember to tip them, too. The entire visit was exciting - for the fish and squid, and also so relaxing... fun with family & friends. St. Thomas has many beaches to pick from, and Coki Beach should be one the list that you definitely visit. ----- ----- -----

Yelp
I had an absolutely amazing time. This being a public beach I was concerned there would be a lot of trash, maybe glass and plastic. But looks like it's maintained really well. Not that it matters but I went in January and the water was pretty warm. I guess it wud be more or less the same year round. If you go on the right side of the beach you can see Fish and you can swim with them. Pretty close to the rocks. I brought my own snorkel so I didn't have to rent but that would have been an option. I rented a locker though and it was five bucks. Pretty convenient. There were a couple of restaurants. One thing is certain. There is definitely a lot lot more alcohol than food options. It's so close to Coral World. You should make a trip for both in a day. Keep this in mind if you're taking public transportation. The Safari buses do not always go to the beach point. Best option is to get a taxi and they charge $10 from the city. You can do the same on the way back but if you are by yourself they can charge you up to $15. And it is per person. There are plenty of things that you can rent at the beach: snorkel masks of different types, umbrellas, chairs, lockers. You can buy dog food to feed fish. There are no showers but there are a few taps to cleanse off your feet. The only thing I really hated were the bathrooms. They were stinking like really really bad. You do not even want to use them to change your clothes but there weren't other options so I had to use. Overall, it exceeded my expectations.

Ginger M.

Yelp
The beach itself is very pretty. Snorkeling here is great. Be aware of the high prices to rent anything here(chairs, umbrellas etc) and they up-charge for any service from the restaurant/bar. Food is overpriced and not good, most of what we ordered was tossed in fear of getting sick as it did not taste or smell good. The biggest complaint would be the very strong odor of weed and fairly pushy sales of it. The workers are fairly rude and definitely look for tips with assisting with anything. I didn't feel safe leaving anything unattended which meant we had to take turns snorkeling and enjoying the water.
google avatar

Christen W.

Yelp
the closest beach to Margaritaville however, this wasn't my favorite beach at all. it's close but i'd recommend going to another beach! there are some good vibes tho!
google avatar

Lara C.

Yelp
Coki Beach is a hugely perfect beach destination that's just a hop, skip, and a jump from Margaritaville Resort! Tip: To optimize your fish encounters while visiting this lovely beach, bring left over food (i.e., sandwiches, bread, burgers, etc.) to use as fish food. Failing that, you can buy fish food once you arrive :-) Armed with your "fish treats", once you enter the water the fish will find you VERY quickly! If you're snorkeling, the fish encounters will be even more picturesque. The swimming/snorkeling conditions here are ideal, with crystal clear turquoise water and beautifully clean white sand. On the down side, the prices for food and drink you might buy on the beach are decidedly high, but so is the quality; servers come to wherever you're sitting on the beach, so everything is easy :-) Tip: Coki Beach is really close to Coral World (just a quick walk), which is a nice place to visit while you're visiting St. Thomas.

Yelp
Simply Beautiful! Mother Nature is just magnificent! This is a great beach. Great view and great place for snorkeling. It is a small beach next to Coral World. It has everything you need. You can rent umbrellas, beach lounge chairs (I paid $20 for 1 umbrella and 2 lounge beach chairs for all day) and snorkeling gear ($5 for the mask. I did not rented the flippers). They only take cash. You can order food and drinks from local vendor. The food was good (average $15 per plate/cash only) and good size portions (see pics). You can park in a lot next to it ($5 all day). Drinks are just to die for. Some vendors are nicer than others :) But overall we had a good experience. The surroundings might not be what tourist might expect but my family and I felt secured. We enjoyed and relax Coki Beach. Just in case you are visiting soon, everyone is wearing masks.
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
This place is great! Can snorkel, swim and enjoy great views! Bring cash the local businesses have great food and drinks. Chair rentals are $5. Restrooms onsite are free and they have taxi service as well!
google avatar

Vinny L.

Yelp
I will say the water is very nice and I heard the food is also good. But the beach is very tiny and there was so many people it felt crowded. Also the seaweed on the beach was outrageous, which is annoying there wasn't much seaweed in water beside a couple spots. The beach was also super loud, and if your coming off a cruise ship it's going to be packed. If your not on a cruise ship try to avoid days when the cruises are coming. Definitely not family friendly drug dealers all around. Also there is a lot of people smoking weed and some creepers. Would not recommend for a family or people with young kids.

Dee V.

Yelp
Total tourist trap-beautiful beach, but it has a trashy atmosphere-way to crowed -you are sitting creek to creek with everyone in the beach -chair rental $5. Food and drink services are super slow -waited over an hour for 10 wings-skip this place!
google avatar

Monysa H.

Yelp
Amazing beach with service! We can order chairs, umbrellas, and food! The ladies come up to you to get your order and delivered the food. Great service and experience! The water is clean and clear too!
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
We enjoyed our brief time in Coki beach. It's a beautiful beach with gorgeous sand, waters, and views. It was pretty bustling in the mid-afternoon that we went, we didn't find a spot on the beach, so we walked around for a bit then left. So, I would recommend coming early if you want a spot to lay out on the day! The restaurant on the shore, Catch of the Day, is pretty excellent for food -- cash only, highly recommended to eat here!
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
Best snorkeling spot on all of St. Thomas!! They have beach chairs and snorkel gear for you to rent, they even have fish food you can buy. This beach also has food and a bar, pizza and ice cream shop Parking is easy, just don't push at coral world cause they will tow you.
google avatar

Ty W.

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite beaches in St Thomas. In fact, I went to 9 beaches and this was our favorite beach to snorkel. The water is very clear, warm with white sands and many tropical fishes especially by the rocks. It's $5 to park and very hard to find parking so come by before 10am on a weekday. There are two small restaurants and bar by the seaside with a live DJ popping out hip hop and island tunes. I love that this beach has a local flair and not frequented by tourists. Water is very clear. The food here is priced very reasonably but they're super slow with service. I waited 45 mins after ordering just to get a fried fish plate and a chicken sandwich with fries. As almost everywhere on the islands, the workers are super slow with everything they do!
google avatar

Alexandra P.

Yelp
So many good things to say! But first let me start with the only negative thing to say, normally it's not something I would really mind but it may help someone: - constant smell of weed. So if you have kiddos or don't want to smell that, this may not be a spot for you! But also take into consideration that we just so happened to visit on 4/20.... Okay, now onto the good stuff! -Rented two chairs ($5 dollars a chair, and $10 for an umbrella) and you get them for the whole day! (Worth it) ‍-If you're staying at margaritaville it's literally a 5 minute walk, call the lobby and they can explain the quick and simple directions! -Amazing food! They have people walking around and you can order from your chair. Ask for the food menu, we ordered the plate with jerk chicken and it was AMAZING (photo attached) -Drinks are overpriced (we thought) but they have different places so maybe you could find a place that has better prices. -As an elementary school teacher, I'd say it's kid friendly! (Aside from the smell of weed). -Snorkeling was fun! We brought our own, but if you don't have one there's a shop where people were renting them. All in all I highly reccomend this beach! We spent the whole day here

Yelp
We got there around 10am I think and before we even reached the beach a fellow approached us wanting to know if we needed any chairs or umbrellas. It kinda made me wary because he walked toward us while we were on the street to the beach instead of waiting for us to get to the beach to make the offer. After we were situated we rented the chair and umbrella for about $20. Not very many people there at that time. It got packed by like 1 or so. Unfortunately, the beach had sargassum seaweed on the shoreline when we went last week, and it got worse as the day went on. I've seen pics of the beach so I know what it should look like. We were just unlucky this time. It didn't keep us from going into the water though. It was only on the shoreline. The water is beautiful beyond that. I kept overhearing people seeing all kinds of underwater creatures as they snorkeled further out. Loved the fact that I could order food and drinks at my beach chair. I had the oxtails which were pricey but delicious. There's a public bathroom and places to rent snorkels and other beach stuff if needed. Small cute beach.
google avatar

J H.

Yelp
There were fun locals, great food, and very strong drinks but extremely overpriced drinks that were one price for locals and a very different and inflated price for tourists, The sea had incredible and beautiful coral. There was nice swimming and soft sand. If you go here do NOT bring anything valuable. My iWatch was stolen at this beach. I took it off to swim across the bay. It was gone when I came back. This was the only beach we went to, where we had issues with theft. The locals here were very nice and fun. Be warned, once it starts getting dark, it's time to leave. Less savory characters come out and so does drugs.

Yelp
If you're looking for a polished glitzy touristy type of beach experience, you're going to be disappointed if you go to Coki Beach. On the other hand if you're looking for a relaxed beautiful beach with good food and snorkeling, and lots of locals, this is the beach for you. The beach it's self is relatively short from the loss of sand caused by the most recent storm. As you wade into the water you'll notice that it drops off very quickly from 4 feet to 15 feet, and the bottom is just a little bit rocky. But the water is very warm and crystal clear. Snorkeling here is decent if you don't want to go out very far, but very good if you're willing to venture out a little bit or go to the far left or right of the beach. The food at Coki Beach is nothing short of excellent. I have been to Kansas City, Memphis, and Texas barbecue, but none of them are as good as the ribs prepared by the chef at Coki Beach. His jerk chicken is also quite good and really moist with tasty Caribbean spices. All the meals are served with deliciously prepared plantains. The parking here is a little difficult if you don't get there early. But there's also plenty of parking down the road which is just a short walk. The charge to park in the lot at the beach is five dollars but it's good for all day if you want to come and go with your car. As with any tropical beach, bring mosquito repellent! On the day we were there there are very few tourists and mostly a bunch of locals enjoying the great mixed drinks from the bar and visiting. We had a great day at Cokki beach, and if this is the atmosphere you're looking for or you will also. I read the reviews were people were disappointed, but I think they were expecting something completely different. Cokki Beach is on my list of places to return to if we ever come back to Saint Thomas.
google avatar

Trang L.

Yelp
I read a lot of reviews prior to coming to Coki Beach. I think our experience aligns with what I read. Upon driving up to Coki Beach, you notice it's a thin strip of land with limited parking. There are men who claim they are parking attendants who tell you where to park. They are actually shop owners who want to get you parked quickly in hope you'll spend money on rentals or souvenirs. The man told us to park right in front of a "no parking sign" so I double checked with him and he said since it's not super busy from the cruise ships, its ok. I was hesitant to believe him but we wanted to get on the beach so we parked there. It turned out to be not a problem at all, and we were able to enjoy our beach day without any issues with our cars. The snorkeling itself was mediocre, and we saw less here than we did on St. John or even at Limetree Beach. The beach is relatively small but it never felt crowded. Beautiful scenery there. There are snacks, drinks, bathrooms, and showers.

Yelp
Whether you like or dislike Coki Beach is likely to depend on a couple of factors: 1. Is there a cruise ship in port? Coki Beach is a blissful, authentically local island experience. When I arrived before 11 a.m. I parked for free in the small, beach-adjacent dirt lot. The beach was essentially empty except for workers and one million umbrella'd chaise lounges arranged neatly all over it. The water was turquoise and warm. I rented two chaises and an umbrella ($20 total) from a friendly worker who told me to "go snorkeling now. It's cruise ship day. Soon the water will be packed with people". She might also have added "and the sand". I'd spent the previous 4 days either on chartered boats or at pristine empty beaches and was interested to see this other animal - the cruise ship beast (and economy stimulator) - and oh, what a trip it was. In time every chaise was filled with people speaking languages I don't recognize. The water was packed with people snorkeling, playing, or floating about with a drink in their hand. It's a different animal but in the right mood, a fun one to observe. 2. If you come not on cruise ship day (or stay after those masses have departed), can you get down with the locals? That is: do you mind smelling weed or seeing it smoked? There's quite a bit of that here when the cruise ships aren't but it's all relative, eh? Several vendors compete here to sell alcoholic drinks which I imbibed, so no judgement here. In fact everyone, whatever their state of sobriety, was mellow and friendly. If I had only one day in St. Thomas I'd not spend it at Coki Beach on cruise ship day. But if I had a bunch of days, I'd certainly make time for it, cruise ship or not, and in fact I did on a second day when no cruise ships were in port. Arriving before the crowds and staying long after their departure (when the Caribbean dance music is turned up to deafening volume) is an experience. A fun experience. As I left just before sundown I asked a bartender how long he stays open to which he replied "as long as there's people". As the last of the beachgoers left locals were arriving and I have a feeling the bar(s) here stay open quite a while. Great attitude from all the beach workers (a sizable free sample of a mango daiquiri was offered to me well before noon), plenty of food/drink available for purchase, and a full array of snorkel/raft rentals (at least on cruise ship days) make Coki Beach a unique experience which ranges from authentic to its opposite depending on the day and time of your visit. Other stuff: * Check out cruise ship schedules here so you'll know what to expect: https://www.vinow.com/cruise/ship-schedule/ * When cruise ships aren't in port the beach isn't covered with chaise lounges but they're still available to rent. * Some have complained of rampant vendors but I found the opposite. In two visits I was offered drinks only upon arrival, never offered food, and saw only one person selling anything else (hair-braiding). Perhaps if you arrive as part of the cruise your experience differs. * Much smaller than Magens Bay, Coki is its own fun thing. Unlike Magens, admission to Coki is free of charge.

Yelp
Beautiful beach! Small but has everything! Great service from the moment you get out of the taxi, cheap snorkeling gear, a bar, food, and so much more. There are a few shops, but this place is a hidden gem! There were so many fish and you get to feed them. Beautiful blue water. Definitely will be back for this beach

Yelp
Went to this place on a Thursday morning. Driving up the small side road to get there made me think we took a wrong turn somewhere. We made it. The parking guy offered us chairs and umbrella. He got us all set up. Plenty of people walking the beach taking food and drink orders. The food was good but not great. Everything is all cash so take plenty. It was a very relaxing and peaceful place. I would definitely go again.

Yelp
Hot mess!!! This is not a family friendly beach. A server offered people weed and cocaine . Didn't feel safe and was told by a cab driver "it's a hood beach and don't go on Sunday nights". I am so puzzled on why this beach had such good reviews. Save yourself sometime and go to Sapphire Beach.

Yelp
We loved this place! Recommend getting there early. We got there at about 8:30-9:00am and no one was there except a few people. It started getting a little chaotic by lunch time but we were ready to leave by then! The staff working were super nice and helpful. They'll help you set up the rental chair snd umbrella and walk around asking if anyone needs a drink. It wasn't annoying or persistent they were simply checking to see if you needed anything. My husband and I LOVED the smoothies they had. The gentleman was so nice and enjoyed the random creations we wanted to try. Make sure to bring cash!

Yelp
This beach gets a lot of positive reviews which is why we gave it a try, but to me it was very much a waste of time and money to park. Not family friendly. Very young party atmosphere to us. We are mid-30s with children under 10 so we don't have a problem with drinking and such but we were about the only family there at 11am on a Wednesday. Parking is sketch and there is trash everywhere! Our son got a piece of chicken bone stuff in his toe. So many better beaches that will cost you basically the same. Give Lindquest a try for nice facilities and a bigger, better beach. Trash all over the beach. Sand fleas. Just not what we expected at all. View on the beach was nice. Snorkeling was just okay. Saw some fish but nothing much else.

Yelp
Coki beach is very small and gorgeous. Make sure to bring swim shoes as the water has a lot of rocks that are in uncomfortable to bare feet. Many servers are walking around. Beach chairs are 5 dollars a piece not bad and well needed. The current on our day came all the way up to shore. My friends mom ordered and thought she could pay for her drink with card. She was given the drink then told to find the atm with no instructions. We went on a hunt and found it in a sketchy supply room next to the bar. I ordered at the bar the bartender was unfriendly and took forever to service me. I was allowed to use card. However if you choose to keep it open they keep the card. Overall bring cash to enjoy the lovely beach and views Coki has to offer.

Yelp
While staying at Sapphire Beach Resort we went on the Jeffery tour and we drove through Coki, and my sister wanted to go back to check it out. The following day after we did the underwater excursion we decided to walk around and spoke to some of the locals who were very nice btw; they informed us a party later they day. We went and got some grilled lobster and food, then proceeded to the beach. The DJ was good, the crowd was nice and it was lots of fun. I enjoyed being on Coki beach with the locals that's the place to come and hear good music, there's a bar, you can get food, or go on the beach; I wouldn't recommend just staying on the resort because of boring and the places in town didn't look fun. You can also venture out to an area edge the locals hang out but I don't remember the name.

Yelp
My favorite beach on the Island. The food at the restaurant wasn't nothing to brag about but the views and quality of the beach made up for it. There is great music and drinks with free showers and shops. You can rent a lounge chair for $5. I took the Safari with my two kids from the airport there for only $2. The walk from the safari bus stop was only 8mins. You will love it.

Yelp
I have been coming here 7+ years. I love it, never fails me. They will walk around and take your dink and food order. Always plenty of fish to see while snorkeling.

Yelp
Beautiful beach but very dirty! We're early birds so we got there before many others and were able to secure a spot in the shade under a tree. There was SO MUCH garbage! Empty liquor bottles, bags, empty cans...so sad for such a beautiful beach to be treated so poorly. The beach itself is awesome, great for snorkeling! We saw an eel, stingray and many fish. It gets crowded though and people don't care about being on top of you. Other couples got really close to us under the tree as if covid did not exist! One couple who was sitting extremely close to us even complained of my husband smoking his cigar! Once it got crowded we decided to leave. It's a great beach for snorkeling, there's food available to buy and chairs and umbrellas available to rent. My husband and I think it would be best for this beach to start charging so they can take care of it better!

Yelp
Most fun beach on island. Good food available. Sheltered on windy days. You'll meet interesting people.

Yelp
We were staying on the island so luckily this place was only a 5 minute drive and we were able to get when not all the cruise ship people were there crowding up the beaches. The snorkeling was AWESOME. plenty of fish not far out. beautiful scenery and views. Ok a few things, its not fancy. It's definitely full of more locals than tourists so it's more casual and unfiltered. And the smell of weed just blows at you most of the time you're there. Also apparently after 7pm you want to be gone from there for reasons I will leave off yelp but improvise how a great "drop off" point would look like. Just face the water and you won't be reminded of the beach side of the place. :) We had our own chairs but you can rent them there. Also plenty of neighborhood chickens to say hello! There is a place to eat there and public bathrooms and we were able to park right up front.
