My wife and I stumbled upon this gem as we were hungry from traveling and googled “vegan soul food” leaving the airport. Cokiea’s was first on the list and closest so we decided to give it a try. First off, the whole food cart set up was super cute!!! We had a hard time settling on what to order but once we did, there was flavor, flavor and more flavor! We had the jackfruit birria tacos (with pinto beans and rice), potato tacos, Mac and cheese, blackberry peach cobbler and sweet potato pie. The presentation of everything was incredible. The pinto beans and rice were AMAZING!!!! The freshness of every ingredient was palpable. The Mac and cheese, forget about it. We’ve never tasted Mac and cheese like this before, it was delicious. The blackberry peach cobbler was the perfect combination of just the right amount of sweetness, a crust that could be eaten alone and the harmonious blend of blackberries and peaches that we never knew we needed! The sweet potato pie was a nostalgic treat that felt like a gift from a Southern grandma. The entire meal was truly wonderful and I am confident vegans and non-vegans alike would appreciate this meal! The chef shared these are her recipes and she truly has the hands of the ancestors on her. Thank you for this experience; we will definitely be back when we visit Portland again!

I'm not even vegan, but those collards were legit. The portions are fat and the quality is there. There is love in this food. This georgia girl approves.

I'm not a vegan or vegetarian. I just like exploring the city and trying different vegan and vegetarian options. I got the vegan macaroni and cheese and the vegan gumbo. The vegan gumbo comes with fried okra. All of it was amazing. The vegan macaroni and cheese tastes like it has cheese. It is super flavorful which makes up for the obvious fact that there isn't any real cheese. It is probably the best vegan cheese dish I've ever had. The vegan gumbo has rice, cauliflower, bell pepper, chickpeas, kidney beans, and many other delicious veggies. It was super flavorful and the Cajun spices are similar to what I had when living in the South. I love fried okra and this fried okra was great. It has a lightly, crispy batter. Overall, I was super satisfied with my meal.

Such great food! Had the jackfruit bowl mixed with mushrooms and it was PHENOMENAL! Such yummy flavors and her hot sauce is THE BEST. I now see why this place is rated so highly! I can’t wait to tell everyone I know about it and to take all my loved ones there to score some of the best vegan food I’ve had in Portland.

We ordered the jackfruit tacos and mushroom tacos. Best jackfruit tacos I’ve ever had. Not the typical beans that you get with tacos; much better. The beans had a hint of heat and sweetness. We will be back to this food cart! Update: I’ve been craving jackfruit tacos and beans since my last visit. Best food cart tacos in town, IMO. Cokiea’s Kitchen will become one of our new go-to places since my husband and I are creatures of habit.

The cart we’ve needed! Rich flavors with the creamiest mac n cheese and mashed potatoes (my fave). Don’t sleep on the desserts either. Somehow tastes even better as leftovers!

I'm not vegan but CoKiea's kitchen is some of the best vegan (or otherwise) food around. The taco trio (you can get one of each type of taco and I highly recommend you do) is so good I haven't ordered anything else yet. Perfect for a post-workout meal when you're hangry and need something quick and healthy! Comes with half an avocado (yum) and beans and rice. The seasoning on the beans and rice is honestly so good I crave it and could eat just rice and beans for dinner and not feel like I'm missing out. It's not traditional Mexican seasoning but it's *so* good. The proprietor is also super nice and has a calm, kind energy. I will be a regular here for sure.

Just what we needed in our lives 🙏🏽 The Vegan lasagna took me home, good portions and soo tasty!

Just delicious. We had the meatless meatloaf, mushroom tacos, and mushrooms asada fries. All delicious but I'd say the tacos are the dish I'd go back for. There was a bit of a wait but everything was freshly made and delicious. Certainly worth the wait.

The owner is the sweetest and nicest lady and the dishes we ordered were ok. (Vegan Tamales and Potato Taco's) Of particular note the servings are VERY large (3 HUGE tamales along with beans and rice) were included in my order and my friend also was served 3 large tacos along with sides in her order. The only thing that missed the mark was the sweet potato pie. It was rubbery and not too tasty. I think next time I am in Portland I will try the Cobbler here instead. Overall for sure please visit Cokiea's Kitchen in Rose City Food Park as it is worth the trip.

I had already purchased a protein and was looking for a side. The cart I usually go to was closed so I decided to check out this one. BIG MISTAKE- the attitude was WILD. She didn't want to talk about the food and didn't want to engage with me as a customer. The side was $6 - i gave her $10 - she gave me a $2 bill and said, "I don't have anymore change". Asked for the cash back and put it on a card- because WHAT?! In the short span of 10 mins, she took EVERY OPPORTUNITY to be abrasive and rude. Folks will say she was having a bad day, but I watched the nicest person serve the person in front of me. So the vitriol coming from her was SUPER unexpected and confusing. But message received- I won't be back- the greens were bitter anyway.

Decided to stop in because I saw great reviews and was looking for good filling vegetarian food. AMAZING. Hands down the best vegetarian food I've ever eaten, if not some of the best food in general I've ever eaten. Prices are so incredibly fair, everything was made to order with organic ingredients and by the food cart owner herself. If you want delicious, hearty soul food you must come here and try it. Even my non vegetarian boyfriend said he wished he didn't get a burger from another cart and got food from her instead.

I saw this truck after I had already ordered a big meal at another truck, but I could not pass up Vegan soul food. I tried a side of their Mac and Cheeze and it DID NOT disappoint. It wasn't like those dishes made with overly processed vegan cheese. It was packed with so much flavor and it was perfectly balanced. You can tell it was made with so much intention and care. I will be heading back to try the Gumbo 100 percent.

OMG, the tacos. Seriously, a next level above anything I've had, period. 'Twas the day before Christmas ... and I was looking for lunch after having a latte at J Vein Caffé. I asked about the little yellow cart 2 door down and he told me that everything was AWESOME. I went over and started to order, and then the spirit of tacos past seemed to take hold of me and I decided to order up 10 tacos and a couple sides each of the barracho beans and the rice so I could bring it all back to the cart and share it with folks hanging out there with JJ. Now, a warning that the meticulous care she puts into things means it took a little longer than some, not a lot, but noticeable... but oh my gawd, sweet chocolate baby Jesus on a stick... it was SO worth it. The Jackfruit carnitas, along with the super-tasty taco sauce (creamy habanero?) were just ridiculously flavorful! There was absolutely nothing in the mouthfeel or flavor that would have made me think it was anything other than carnitas, but the other ingredients and the sauce just created an absolute flavor bomb that really made all 4 of us grin, say "Wow!" and so much more. Even JJ, with his ever so delicate and discerning palate, just loved them too. And then, the pastor... I had been concerned... I mean how can diced mushrooms actually taste like really pastor? Well, cluck a duck, these tasted like they had just been sheared off a trompo after being lovingly caressed by a blazing torch. We were all in wonderment as to how you could create something from mushrooms that had the right char, complemented by pineapple (as is appropriate) other fillings and more of the salsa to taste... no, not as good as a street taco from a vendor in Mexico, but something far more flavorful and interesting. Wow! So good! But wait, there's more... Really? After all that, I'm going to rave now about the rice and beans? Yep. Seriously awesome. The rice, I think, had been made with stock instead of just water and then also I think saffron and was full of flavor and moist. The beans were spectacular, super flavorful, some of the best I've had, a treat in themselves. My new year's resolution is going to be to eat more here whenever I can! I can hardly wait to bring Miki here to try them with me. I'm looking forward to the shock and amazement on her face...!

SO delicious. I got the potato tacos and I was blown away how fresh everything was. Plus, the hot sauce is on point

This place rules. I've been vegan for 20 years and both the jackfruit dishes we had were the best jackfruit I've ever had. Cobbler was A+++ too.

This place is everything! The owner has a wonderful spirit and I will be coming to support her again! There was a small problem with my order but she fixed it with no hesitation - the sign that this establishment is run by a person who truly cares about their craft. The burger was so flavorful and the salad was so amazing, she dressed it up very nicely. She even let me try her gumbo - it was deliciousness!

Hands down best bowl (vegetarian or not) I've ever had in my life. Pro tip: SAY YES TO THE CHIP! Handmade and fried crispy chips added to the mushroom bowl took it over the top. Must check out!

First of all, CoKiea's Kitchen HITS the spot. The greens? SLAP. The Mac & Cheese? SLAPS. The Jackfruit Sandwich? SUH-LAPS. The service beyond amazing, they play R&B, and you can smell the goodness as you walk up to the window, the seating is nice, especially on a hot day. The only regret I have, is that she was sold out of the lasagna the day I went, because it looked AMAZING. 5/5, 10/10, if you're in PDX, hit up CoKiea's Kitchen, get you some greens, and thank me later.

Great owner operator. Was in Portland for small family reunion and of course with 12 people there are twelve different tastes. We chose the food truck park where CoKieas Kitchen was located. My Daughter and I ate at CoKiea's. It was very good. This whole food truck lot was filled with good food. It was clean and had tables to eat at.

Now located on Sandy, this is worth going out of your way for! Heading over for a fix ASAP

Delicious food and great friendly service. I love the lasagna and the "meatloaf" with the off the charts mashed potatoes! Be sure to try the sweet potato pie.

Damn this food is Delicious. She has a way with food I have tasted no where in or around Portland. Delicious food with an extensive and creative menu! I've had their jackfruit sandwich and their meatless meatloaf and I plan to make my way through the menu. Very friendly staff too.

This place is awesome! Great food, delicious, healthy and filling! The service is friendly and fast! What a great cart to have in the pod! We can't wait to come back!

Wow!!! I had the vegetarian tacos with jackfruit and they were delicious. I could have easily had them vegan and I will next time. The rice and beans were home cooked and everything was so freah. Great service and friendly. I'll definitely be returning soon.

Fantastic! I got the vegetarian lasagna. Delicious. HUGE portion, with a lovely fresh (not soggy) salad AND garlic bread. A wonderful meal, big enough for 2 or one with leftovers. Plus a Black Woman-run vegetarian/vegan restaurant. In Portland?!? What are you waiting for?!

Wow... I'm so upset it took me a year of living down the street to try CoKiea's. I got the Jackfruit burger and it was SO flavorful and the crispy pieces were perfect. The Mac and greens were also amazing. The service was also great and warming. Great portion too!

What a wonderful surprise running into a vegan/vegetarian food cart I didn't know about! Got the Birria Tacos and they did not disappoint. The meal was 3 jackfruit tacos, rice, and beans. Tacos came with plenty of cilantro and onion, really hit the spot! Flavor in the beans was great too. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend!

The food is so good! I had gumbo with okra (Yum!) and peach cobbler (yum!). I lived down South for a bit and this food is really good and like what I've had in New Orleans. The roux is great! I look forward to going to CoKiea's Kitchen again and trying even more stuff. The woman who runs the cart (owner, I believe) is super nice and she was not slow getting us our food. Thanks for the great food!

Yum. I'm not even vegetarian but the vegan gumbo here hit the spot. Spicy and multitexrured, and with fried okra on the side. Delish and nutrish although spendy. And the owner seems cool and was playing terrific music!

Best gumbo ever! So much flavor! And it's vegan! Great tacos too. The jackfruit tacos are delicious but the mushroom tacos are better! Look out for it!

Super tasty! Not a vegan or veg but got the jackfruit tacos. Awesome flavor, charred jackfruit, great salsas and a big portion with rice and beans. Tacos are gluten free!

We stumbled upon this business and were blown away by the service and food! All vegetarian delights are served here. Our lunch consisted of pulled Jack fruit sandwich with sautéed greens, and vegetarian mac and cheese. The greens won 1st place amongst our crew. They were prepared perfectly! Thanks for your hospitality and delicious food.

A friendly woman runs this cart, and she makes some delicious fried zucchini! I can't wait to try more of the menu next time my family is at carts on foster.

I love this place so much! Honestly can't decide what has my heart between the jackfruit tacos that are spicy but the touch of mango makes it sweet, or if it's the good ol burger which if you do eat dairy n eggs can add cheese and eggs to(which I recommend you do). But forsure top place is the ty Mac n cheese which is to die for, it's creamy, spicy and just bomb. I love coming here if you couldn't tell, highly recommend it!

Absolutely delicious food! Her mushroom tacos are Prices are affordable, portions are generous and Cokiea (the main cook) is very nice and helpful.

Really well put together dishes. We shared two and were thrilled. The chef here has a gift: I could not recreate most of what we had. A little more costly than the average cart but worth it. Delicious. We will be back.

I'm not vegetarian, but I appreciate well-made food that doesn't need meat to be filling and delicious. This cart has it down! They serve the best BBQ jackfruit I've had. Excellent greens. Plus the owner was patient and kind to my surly teen. We will be back!

Ever since I've had the jackfruit birria tacos, I crave them often. This food is made with love & FLAVOR. You will not be dissatisfied, whether or not you are a vegetarian!

I've gotten food here twice in the last week and freakin love it! First time I had jackfruit tacos with mango salsa. So good! Second time I had jackfruit birria tacos. Also excellent! I don't think I've had better vegetarian tacos anywhere. Both came with beans and rice- the beans and rice doesn't look like anything special, but that's a sneaky trick! I mixed it together and dug in and found it to be super delicious. And the person cooking was super nice. Cant wait to come back and try some of the other dishes.

My wife and I have been almost weekly CoKiea's Kitchen customers! The food is delicious and consistently good. Who can ask for more? We're especially fans of the Jack Fruit Tacos! Keep up the good work! Thanks for all you do!

Best cobbler I have had in a very very long time. I wish I hadn't already had dinner so I could try the food. This place is for sure worth noticing and checking out

The food was so well seasoned and customer service was amazing!!! My favorite dish was the mac and cheese!! I would definitely recommend this to everybody!!! 10/10!
