Where to Eat in San Juan, Where Restaurants Aren’t Just Rebuilding—They’re Thriving | Bon Appétit

"You’re gonna need to stay caffeinated to get through all this eating. Luckily, San Juan is home to a bonafide coffee boom. Island coffee crops are still in recovery, but local shops supplement local beans with mainland roasters to keep the espresso flowing. There are two main draws atCafé con Cé: cult Gustos Reserva beans and a killer patio.Café Comuniónis run by a bona fide latte art champion runs this coffee shop, so expect frothy cortados. Hit up O.G. single-origin spotDon Ruizfor perfect pour-overs with house roasted beans, then walk through Viejo San Juan toSpiga, an Italian-ish café that takes its sourdough as seriously as its espresso. End your coffee crawl atCafé Cuatro Sombras, which has been growing Arabica beans in the Yauco mountains since 1846. They’re best in cortaditos." - ByAliza Abarbanel

Outstanding quality of service and delicious food here. The barista was friendly and quick, when we started our order she started making the drinks right away. There was no wait! I was hesitant to order food because from it appeared more so like a coffee stand than a kitchen and tried to convince my partner to eat somewhere else- but he wanted to eat here and I’m so glad we stayed! I ordered a croissant sandwich with pork and it was DELICIOUS. It even unexpectedly came with a bottled drink and chips which was nice. My partner had a veggie omelette with garlic bread which he said was good. My drink was good I can’t even remember what I ordered because the food was the most memorable 💕. The person who took our food to the table was very friendly as well. All in all I am very happy with my experience here. Tip: If you have time to down the staircase and check out the little boutiques downstairs.

Alex greeted me every morning with a smile. I enjoyed starting my day at his coffee shop. A welcoming atmosphere and convenience location to my nearby hotel. Very eager to suggest. He made sure I was satisfied with my cappuccino.

Low key little place! Good service! They need a bigger sign outside!

The best coffee in Puerto Rico. The plain latte is so flavorful and balanced you don’t need flavor shots. The baristas are super friendly and happy to explain the menu. Absolutely recommend this place

The cake was amazing!!! We ordered one to try and just had to order three more slices! Our lattes were top quality as well.

Great spot. Had an omelette wrap and iced latte for lunch and was lucky enough to catch live music playing too. The food and coffee is delicious. I only wish they had WiFi here to work remotely on. Super popular with the local crowd too so you know it’s good.

Love the vibe of this coffee shop. It’s a cute little shop. So far I’ve tried their Ginger Spice tea and Cappuccino. Cappuccino was great. The place is not overpriced. Only one request, would appreciate if they had a menu written out. :)

Yelp
Amazing coffee!! Strong but not bitter! The workers are kind and friendly, speak both Spanish and English. They have very good recommendations and do sell coffee by the pound as well. The entrance is a little hidden, it is behind the dress shop. Highly recommend.
