Best Bars and Restaurants in South Lake Tahoe | Eater SF

"Located on South Lake Tahoe’s main drag, the Cold Water Brewery & Grill is a warm and friendly restaurant, often packed with crowds and good vibes from long days hiking or skiing in the woods. The burgers are made with a short rib blend beef patty and go well with the brewery’s selection of craft beers. Try the BBQ Bacon Burger with the hoppy Tahoe Cross IPA, or the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich with Mr. Toad’s Wild Rye, named after the iconic mountain bike trail in South Lake Tahoe." - Julie Brown Davis

Google
Star ratings. 1 bad. 2 below average. 3 average / neutral. 4 good. 5 excellent. Loved that street corn came as a side for the tacos, great flavor. I wish i saw this more often. The only thing with the food was the Mahi tacos had too much sauce and put down first instead of on top, which caused the tortilla to soak up the sauce and split, making it difficult to eat. Sat outside, which I'd assume is your busiest spot. Thus, you'd put your most experienced servers. Ours was not. Every server has an off day. My wife was a server for nearly 20 years. Ours seemed to be newer and had a hard time keeping up. He'd only visit one table at a time, then go back in vs. stopping at a couple at a time to maximize his efficiency. Most tables just need a quick item. Beer flights come with up to 7 pours on the holder, which is nice. Good beer, better than most "tourist breweries". Limited outdoor seating. Larger groups could sit inside.

This is a pleasant brewpub and restaurant. They have outdoor seating for those perfect summer days and plenty of seating indoors. The burgers were good and the mahi mahi tacos were awesome. They have a great selection of their beers on tap, which were crisp and refreshing. The restaurant is a little pricey, but that’s life in South Lake Tahoe. There was plenty of parking when we stopped in for lunch.

Google
Maria was a great and very attentive server. I love the vibe here, and I especially appreciate that they brew their own beer on-site. My wife and I enjoyed several beers and cocktails. The food was delicious; we ordered the mushroom burger, fish and chips, and minestrone soup. Everything was great, and I will definitely be back.

Man I was so excited for the beer scene in Lake Tahoe, but it was a struggle. We hit 5-6 breweries during our trip and I found all the beer (IPA Drinker) to be just ok. To me there is a prevalent bitterness to all the beer in this area even the hazy and fruitier IPA's which I prefer. Cold Water broke the trend for me. I forget the name of the IPA I drank but it was the best one of our trip! Paired with our drinks we had the elote dip (corn dip for the gringos) and it was delicious. We sat outside on the patio to enjoy the killer weather. The only thing that would make this spot better is a lake view. To make up for not having one there is plenty of free parking. I'd add this to your brewery tour in Lake Tahoe.

I really want to write this place a five but I just can’t. The atmosphere is really cool and modern, but it’s just one of those places that the employees and owners are way more interested in talking to each other than you. I did dine on my own, at the bar. The menu was great. I was able to make the substitution to the Poké bowl…that being said it was more than $20 for a Poké bowl, which was a little bit high. I have just recently discovered how delicious they are and it’s one of my go to now, but this one was not very big for the price. The fish was really delicious and there were no issues with the flavor whatsoever. I think the thing that prevented it from being a five is that just outside the front doors, there is a sign that says that “menus do not magically appear. Go see the hostess” I don’t understand why businesses add these snarky little comments. When I went outside, I stood at the host stand for a little while, waiting for someone to come up. Basically the beginning of lunch started with a clever comment about seeing the host before you sit down then when you go to see the host, you have to wait because there’s nobody there. The person that did take my order was really nice though, and even though there was really no engagement through the meal, I would definitely go back and enjoy the good food and maybe try their happy hour.

Google
Beer was good. The nachos tasted great, but for 25 bucks I was expecting more goodies. Beans can't be that expensive.

Google
Clean and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service was great. Good beer options along with mixed drinks.Parking can get a little tight in the parking lot but decent enough.

Google
The husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch and a beer. We chose a table by the street, so it was quite noisy (our fault) We both ordered salads and some wings. The wings were great , my Cesar salad not so much. I had pieces of brown lettuce all for $21.xx. When we told the waitress we got a weak apology.A cc charge was added to the bill without asking if we were using a cc and taxed on that amount. I'm not sureif that's a legal practice but ok. I write many reviews and can't understand the high ratings but perhaps it was an off day. I found it to be mediocre at best.

Yelp
Came into Cold Water this past week and had a great experience. Solid service, good drinks made by JT, and the manager Jenna checked in to see how the experience was for me. New fave spot in town!

Yelp
First of all this place is amazing. Excellent customer service the food is consistent and incredibly delicious the chicken sandwich alone and the hamburger bomb. The fish tacos are excellent as well and they have this corn salad Oh my heavens this is delicious. This place has excellent customer service the other day we were in there and a gentleman. One of the workers broke a glass. I don't know his name that's all I know him from and he was excellent the two times that we went in there and then tonight we went for dinner, which was amazing amazing and our waitress was Sammy and she was excellent. Five stars indeed. This day and it's all about customer service and consistency and those two boxes have been checked Recommend this place great food great customer service

Yelp
After a nice weekend of drinks, gambling, and good quality time with friends, it was time to head home to the Bay Area. We came in since we hadn't had breakfast and it was nearing lunch time. We didn't want to get hangry in the middle of the drive home. We opted to stop here for a bite to eat. We were seating right away. I ordered the Baja fish tacos, my friend ordered the chicken sandwich. The tacos were pretty good with big pieces of fish. It was very drippy, but overall a good taco. The elite dip that came with it was also pretty good. My friend really enjoyed her chicken sandwich. Service was quick and everyone was friendly to us. We were pretty much in and out of there.

Yelp
Stopped by here for lunch on a Sunday as we were heading out of town. They have plenty of indoor and a couple outdoor seating options. We were seated right away. I really like their interior with all of the plants and plenty of lighting. They do offer happy hour which is a 20% off of appetizers, BUT you must be seated at the bar. Ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich and my friend got the Baja Fish Tacos. It did take a second to get our food brought over. The sandwich was delicious! Juicy and crispy was the meat with a hint of sweetness. The fries that it came with were not that great - over fried. My friends Baja Fish Taco came with chips and a side of the elote dip. Overall would come back here again, but would avoid the fries.

Yelp
Great menu and food. We ordered fish tacos and a cessar salad, food was very tasty. I think it's a little pricy but sharing a meal was adequate. I judge a restaurant was I greeted by the host YES, was the food server friendly? In my case NO, Riley, lacked people skills and not appear friendly but matter of fact. I tipped her 18% because it was the fair tip, I normally always tip 20%. Because of this experience, I WILL NOT BE BACK.

Yelp
Our visit to Cold Water Brewery and Grill started well.... My partner and I stopped in for a quick bite and and to relive some memories. We found out CWB opened ten years ago and I have to tell you, the establishment has held up really well. It doesn't look ten years old. There's a great patio, but we opted to dine indoors. Our server was really friendly, but once he left and another server took over...below average service. This is where things went downhill. We ordered a Reuben sandwich and fries....one sandwich and fries. It took 43 minutes to come out. There must've been a backup in the kitchen because every table in the dining room was filling up with people, but there wasn't any food coming out of the kitchen. The food? Eh, average at best. #sadface

Yelp
We were able to land a table for 6 on a Saturday night at Cold Water! The space is pretty large with a nice outdoor area, though it gets quite dark inside at night. Service was relatively quick. The food is solid overall. The wings were juicy and delicious, and the pretzel was a group favorite. Drinks were good all around. My fish and chips had perfectly flaky fish, and the fries were the perfect mix of crispy, fluffy, and flavorful (I think they fry them in beef or chicken fat). One heads up though - one of my friends got the mac and cheese and really didn't like it. They actually ended up feeling sick after the meal, so maybe skip that dish. Other than that, it was a solid experience and I'd definitely go back if I had a big party again!
google avatar

Sarah Z.

Yelp
Okayyyyyy SOLID. Not sure if it's because I was exhausted from my hike but this spot was awesome for lunch. Portions are huge, service was fast, servers were friendly. Great grub ambiance. We ordered so much to share and everything was fresh and delicious. Only downside is that the nachos were whatever so I'd skip those. Besides that, wings hit the spot and the baja fish tacos were crispy and juicy.

Yelp
After a long day of driving and beaching, I was looking for a Tahoe-y, gastropub-y, cabin-y spot for a group dinner and Cold Water Brewery hit all the marks! They were able to accommodate my party of 8 on a late weekend evening - not without a short wait which we quickly passed at the bar. The prices do reflect those of a vacation town - entrees were around $25-$30 each. I got a Key Lime Martini which was DELICIOUS. Tasted exactly like the Yoplait Key Lime flavor I devoured in my childhood. (Do they still make those?) For appetizers I loved the big soft pretzel. That sauce was so delicious - a little beer-y or wheat-y and perfectly cheesy. The elote dip was also pretty good. The mushroom burger was so delicious but definitely quite heavy. The truffle fries were solid. The portion of the burger with fries was definitely enough for two - we shared appetizers and I only ended up having half of my burger and I shared a lot of my fries. I'd pass on the poke bowl. The rice was cold and dry and the sauces were off, too mayo-y.

Yelp
I've driven past Cold Water Brewery and Grill so many times and has always been on my list of places to try. I finally went with a group of friends and so glad I did. It's pretty spacious with indoor and outdoor seating available. We were seated right away and we had friendly and attentive service. I started off with the Freel Good IPA - A bright citrus forward hoppy summer IPA, light refreshing with a dank bite. For lunch I tried the Baja Fish Tacos - Fried Alaskan Cod, Red Cabbage, Pico, Avocado Ceam, Cotija, Chipotle Aioli, Corn Tortillas served with Elote Dip & Chips. Both are great choices and I look forward to stopping by again to try more of their menu.

Yelp
Huge portions for the burger/sandwiches and fries, pleasant ambiance, EXCELLENT service, but food was pretty meh. (Context: we came in about 8:30pm, 1.5 hours from closing). Miso ramen - 2/5. Super salty and I wish it had more broth. I ended up pouring some hot water into it which helped a little bit, but it was still salty. Fried Chicken Sandwich - 4/5. Friend said this was decent. CW Burger - 3/5. Friend said the patty tasted overcooked after requesting for medium well. Truffle fries - 5/5. Everyone loved it! Service - 5/5. Excellent service!! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive throughout the night, making sure we had everything we needed.

Yelp
Went to Cold Water on a Sunday afternoon for a great lunch in their beautiful deck/patio space. What a treat! I've driven by this place dozens of times abut never thought to stop until now. Glad I did! We were seated promptly and our very nice server came quickly. I ordered a few beer tasters- $3 each and we put in the soft pretzel appetizer. We ended up ordering the kids corn dog meal and the fish tacos a bit later on. The beers were tasty. I would certainly return to have a few drinks at the bar. The pint prices are competitive for the area. The food was great. Some highlights included the perfectly battered fish, the beer cheese sauce for the pretzel, and the crispy batter on the kids corn dog. The elote dip that came as a side with the tacos was a huge win- but a bit spicy, so beware! We finished lunch with a truly delightful churro cake. It was perfectly sweet, chewy, and filled with churro-y goodness. My only complaints about Cold Water are the prices and the volume of the music. The music on the patio was simply way too loud. We could barely hear each other at our table. Easy thing to fix. As for the pricing- one appetizer, one kids meal, one entree, three beer tasters, one cocktail, and one dessert, came to $150ish. To me, that felt a bit high. Nearly $40-50 per person for two adults and two toddlers and we didn't even get our own entrees! While I understand that Cold Water is partially a tourist joint- this place is expensive for tourists and locals alike. I'll be back to Cold Water, but I'll have to let my wallet recover first. Cheers!

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends for a dinner on a Friday night! We mostly stopped by because we heard great things about the fish and chips and wanted to try it out for ourselves while we were in Tahoe. It was pretty busy around the time we went but we were okay with sitting outside and were seated pretty quickly. I will say, it was kind of chilly and windy so most of my group was pretty cold since there were no heat lamps outdoors. We had an amazing waitstaff that were incredibly kind, patient, and helpful with our questions! I ended up ordering the Baja fish tacos and my group and I shared appetizers of the Ahi Poke and Truffle fries. I also got a beer! The poke and fries were soooo good! I couldn't stop snacking on either even once my tacos came out. My fish tacos were great! I loved the elote dip it came with and the combination of the cream, aioli, and toppings with the fish was too good. The sauce did have a nice kick too. The downside of our experience here was finding a hair in our food :( It wasn't on top of our food but cooked/fried into it. We did make this known to our server, who took it back and gave us a remake and a discount. The consideration was nice but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Otherwise, this place is great in terms of taste and atmosphere.

Yelp
Nearly 10 years ago, "Yelp's Tahoe Getaway" featured a bunch of events around South Lake Tahoe over a 4-day weekend. Cold Water Brewery and Grill played host to 1 of those events. Revisiting some of those places, my parner & I arrived on a sunny Sunday afternoon. With the lovely weather, their outdoor patio was pretty full. We opted to sit inside where there more open tables. Our server was friendly & conversational as we told him the story of being here a decade earlier. We put in an order for a Pastrami sanwich with fries & a flight of beer tasters. Looking around, it was truly impressive how well kept the place was. From what I recall, there'd be no guessing that 10 years had passed. The side room where the Yelp event was looked nearly identical to the last time I was here. The beer flight showed up fairly quickly, but the food took a while. 40+ minutes. For a sandwich & fries. The beers were decent. The sandwich was OK. The fries were a little overcooked & a bit cold. Toward the end, our server switched to someone more business & less hospitality. So, although Cold Water Brewery and Grill is still looking good after 10 years, the food & sevice did leave a little more to be desired.

Yelp
Food was super flavorful. Service was great Ethyn was fabulous! Even though outside in a parking lot I it's very nice ambiance.
google avatar

Wendi K.

Yelp
We came here starving after a short hike, so it's highly possible we had "post-hike food goggles" on. Prices were on the high end for brewery food, but the quality is wonderful and portions are GIGANTIC. The Mahi Mahi Tacos ($24), Mushroom Burger ($25), and CW burger with added bacon ($22+$3) all hit the spot. The fries came in a heaping pile, and were oily golden fried and delicious. The house-made cider was a perfect refreshing touch too. Staff were super kind and attentive. The interior is rustic-feeling and clean.
google avatar

Heidi D.

Yelp
Relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of cocktail and beer options though I visited with mostly non-drinkers. LOL We came for a little afternoon "snack" to tide us over till dinner. Buffalo wings were tasty, as were the truffle fries, though they lacked much truffle flavor. Crispy and salted well nonetheless. I ordered a beer flight and enjoyed every drop. I would definitely go back when visiting South Lake.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here on our bike ride! Great service, food & drinks! Very attentive & helpful. Nice patio seating, close to bike rack so didn't need to lock up. Highly recommend the Elote & nachos!
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
The food was delicious. I was able to make a little substitution on the bowl. The atmosphere at the restaurant is pretty cool. It's modern and updated. The bartender that was acting as a server for me was friendly and shared what she liked on the menu .

Yelp
Cold Water continues to be our go to in South Lake Tahoe. Ordered a pretzel for the table and that was phenomenal. I really enjoyed the mahi tacos. My wife had the steak nachos and those are her new favorite. Drinks were great as always with a stout and a Serrano margarita. Place is super clean, games on tvs and attentive friendly staff.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the nicest looking restaurants on the blvd with a cute little outside patio (on the parking lot). Inside, a long bar and just okay looking...or normal. The good: in-house brews, and my Sausage stack -- topped with beer cheese (like a creamy hollandaise), one beautiful sausage, diced multi-colored potatoes (not german potato salad as menu said), and sauerkraut...excellent overall. [$25, 4.5 stars]. Others in my party all loved their foods. The not-so: service was sparing, forgetful, and slow. I'd go back, but not running.
google avatar

Doug W.

Yelp
Great service Nicole helped tremendously! Helped us make it easy at the end. Nice place and great service!
google avatar

Gil G.

Yelp
OK, first of all let me say we this was our first time ever being here and it was closed two days out of the week so we couldn't come before, but we are finally here!! Ambience is nice service was pretty good. We had the fish and chips and the Ramen noodle soup. Both of them are really good and I can't wait to go back to try more so I can give them more stars but overall everything was very nice if you are in this area, try it out.
google avatar

Nancy A.

Yelp
Very disappointing restaurant I ordered a $22 burger and it came with one limp, skimpy piece of lettuce, one small slice of tomato that didn't even come close to covering the burger, no onion, and cheese, which I had asked to be left off. When I scraped off the cheese, I could tell that it was a cheap imitation cheese. It wasn't even genuine cheddar. To make matters worse, the service was slow, and there were lots of mistakes. We will not be returning.

Yelp
Seated quickly on Saturday at dinner time. Ambiance was nice. Took our order quickly with a nice attitude. Server came back several times-A1 service. Ordered $17 huge pretzel w cheese- yum. She had mahi mahi tacos that were blackened and overcooked. Side of spicy corn was good. I had cod fish and chips fried perfectly, 2 big pieces w tons of overdone fries. She had champagne that was a bit sweet and I had a hefe that tasted like banana peals. Here not so good. $100 plus tip. Would go again and split the fish and chips.

Yelp
Monday dinner, and it was pretty busy. I came here with high(er) hope based on the reviews, took my husband for his birthday who loves beer. It must have been their "off" day here, service was not good, and food was okay. We came here with full intention of tasting all their beers but we left with tasting a single pint since we didn't get much service. The only good thing was there was plenty of parking spot. Maybe we'll try again, or maybe not...

Dyllan H.

Yelp
I came here for late night grubs in Tahoe. The service was great and the drinks were smooth. I did end up ordering a burger and loved it. This place earned my likes with the combination of everything that ended up going well for a late night spot. Would recommend coming here if near the area!

John C.

Yelp
The reinvention is in progress. Friendly staff as usual, but Happy Hour is back strong with $5 beers. Food is still high priced and a Happy hour pretzel sets you back $14 reg $17. But it seems like they are trying to bring folks in. The fish and chips was great tasting but it too is high priced at $26 for only two pieces. They are large though. I liked the Lake Tahoe scenic video on loop on the big screen. It makes you appreciate what a beautiful place this is and why locals stay here. Hopefully they can continue to keep locals in mind with their prices.

Yelp
4.5 stars! We had a great experience. The place is nice with lots of seating. Our waiter was great, he was helpful with recommendations and attentive. Food came pretty fast too. - Caesar salad - the salad was really good, good flavor sauce & came with a piece of lemon that gave it a good zest. - Mahi Mahi Taco - I really enjoyed eating them. The fish was good size and cooked nicely. All the goodies on top added good flavor including avocado. The sauce was tasty and just enough, not too dry and not too wet for the tortilla to fall apart. It came with chips and corn covered in cheese, mayo &.... I didn't care for them. - Fried Chicken Sandwich - It had really good flavor, crispy while juicy and good portion. All the add-ons were also great including the coleslaw, well seasoned. Got truffle fries, which were great!

Yelp
We had to wait quite some time to order drinks, eve longer to order food. I got the stack of German sausage. It was 1 single sausage with beer cheese sauce. As I was eating my dry French fries (forgot my beer cheese and garlic aioli), I found a black hair on my fries-fried into the batter. I have red hair. Eeeewwww. Person hair. This German sausage was so-so, the nachos were lack luster with the beer cheese (not very good) and very little 'stuff'-meat, black beans etc. for $28 bucks it was cringe. My kids liked their poke bowl ok, and fish and chips-not the best but ok. I know it's S. Lake a Tahoe but the dishes we had were between $18-28. For the price not worth the food or beer. Beers were not particularly flavorful. Saison was ok. They do bring water out to your dog which was cool. Ambience inside eh, outside was a bit loud with street traffic.
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
CW Burger add grilled onions - good option for Tahoe. Mushroom burger good, too. Dog friendly patio.

Yelp
Bartender was awesome! Came for the 49ers game & enjoyed the Irish Nachos during brunch, they were great! Will be back for sure!

Yelp
3 campfire s'more hot drink. We all REALLY enjoyed these! They were so tasty! This was an unexpected stop, and such a great surprise!
google avatar

Yelp
So good. So glad we stopped for brunch. Drinks, food, service, price, location, all great. Will definitely come back when we're in the area. For brunch we had the scramble and the cold brew old fashioned and a screwdriver. All perfect. Tyler was great.

Yelp
This was the best place for a beer and meal in Tahoe, but I hear they got new owners a few years back and they decided to change everything. They did have a legendary incredible brisket sandwich but that went away. All their food was amazing but now they should rename their restaurant, bland water brewery because ALL the food was so flavorless. Even a 3 cheese mac and chees with bacon was bland. Their truffle fries tasted mostly of oil. Their rootbeer and my first beer pick was out of stock. The only redeaming factor was their great employees. Its so sad one of the places that had the best sandwich I've ever had has become a terrible, overpriced, bland brewery. Everyone in the party felt greasy and heavy after eating. And they have a 3% service charge.

Yelp
So good to be back in the old neighborhood; we do miss this area. Quality/Quantity - Ahi Poke Bowls - The wives got the same dish. They both REALLY liked this. It did look good. But as you know, I eat a lot of poke as it is. Fish and Chips - This looked REALLY good. And a generous quantity. My friend was not able to finish either the fish or the chips. And he is typically a big eater! Normally I would order this dish, but I am trying to eat healthier; wish me luck. Blackened Mahi Mahi Taco - My dish, and I was kind of disappointed. The mahi was NOT blackened, but I did not mind that. However, my portions of fish were so little. And the red cabbage was VERY generous. So the taste was really thrown off for me/unbalanced. Well, I did say I wanted to eat healthier. Got me a red cabbage taco, lol. And of course, I got their beer. Tasters were - Red Ale, Pine Acres Pale Ale, Freel Good IPA. As you already know because you are following, I have gone back to being a Red drinker. But their IPA was really smooth, too smooth, dangerously smooth. If I had time and was not trying to be healthier, I would have gotten that one also (or two, or three...). Atmosphere - Good size location, with both indoor & outdoor seatings. Indoor seating has tables and bar seating and a semi private room. The outdoors has tables and table top (barrel) seating; see pictures. Clean bathrooms and right as you enter. Open 7 days a week from 11:30am to 8pm or 9pm. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Good. Tyler did a good job. He checked on us frequently. Price - $121 + generous tip. Reasonably priced for what we got, well not for my red cabbage tacos, but thanks for making me eat healthier, ol. Owner Comments - Congrats on your success since 2014; sorry it has taken me 10 years to visit. But we are coming back more and more to the old neighborhood. :)

Yelp
Wow, that's all I have to say every plate was beyond delicious & amazing. The service along with the live music on a Thursday night was just incredible. The flavor on each dish was superb. Honestly the elote with the chips yum, the steak was done perfectly how I like it. I will definitely come back and rave about this place!! The desert was the cherry on top.

Yelp
It was a special trip up to Tahoe and having researched businesses and having planned a few places, on a whim the scenery of the lights was very inviting so that my family member and I took sharp turn and ended up at Cold Water Brewery. There was a group ahead of us, but boy do they work quick to seat people. We got a great seat outside and it was just something to take in and appreciate. I ordered a sangria, which I was expecting to be on the sweeter side, but it was full of fruit. My family member and I ordered the pretzel which was the biggest pretzel I've ever seen, and this was the best tasting pretzel with beer cheese, loved it!! Having snacked all day, we went with the fish and chips to share and it was a huge mountain of fries with two perfectly cooked, fish. The food was abundant and service well attentive. There was even a wedding taking place inside it appeared. I saw desserts walking by so had to go with the suggested creme brulee cheesecake to go, which was good as well. I know pricewise we paid for the scenery which is not a shocker. Would definitely come back to enjoy what felt like dining in the forest under the stars.

Yelp
Our first night in the Lake area and we were wanting a good craft libation and some tasty food! I started with the Ski Bum Sour which was fabulous. Love the milk washed bourbon! My husband had a sampler flight and then moved on to a pint with dinner. Fish and chips for him and the Ahi Poke Bowl for me. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Quite pricey for what we had but this area is known for pricier food from what we read ahead of time. We normally like to share meals but after a long day of travel from the east coast we were famished. The bartender served us and she was super sweet!

Roger A.

Yelp
We found the location quite noisy against the main highway location. It was difficult to find something reasonable to order, the $9 beers were out, so we settled on the $25 hamburger and $25 nachos. Yelp
Great menu options. I had the poke bowl which was very fresh and flavorful. My husband had the mahi mahi tacos with the elite dip and tortillas. Service was quick and everyone from the person who seated us to our waiter were friendly. Laid back with great pictures of the local community and great plants! Very enjoyable lunch!

Yelp
Great place to grab a burger, watch a game, and chat with locals and folks passing thru. We both got the CW burger med well because the waitress said the chef cooked it on the rare side - don't make our mistake! Order it the temp you want. We ended up with more well done than medium. Fries were yummy and my hot cocoa was great. Would go back to try the fried chicken sandwich for sure.

Yelp
We stop here every time we're in the area because they were that good. This time, the food wasn't as good as usual. We had the turkey pesto sandwich, barbacoa torta and a truffle burger. It was all just OK. Me: "May I sub salad for the fries?" Server Kristen: "Sure!" Our bill was $8 higher than expected because they charged for the salad. It isn't even reflected on our bill. I had to ask Kristen why we were charged more than the menu listed as the price for the sandwich. At least disclose it when there will be an upcharge.

Yelp
When she handed me a straw with her fingers, it was the first bad sign. Next, they seated a family with a crying kid directly next to us (screaming throughout our meal) when there was plenty of other seating available. Salmon looked deep fried and was way overdone, which sat on a bed of tasteless quinoa. I wondered if they salted it at all. Woefully understaffed, with inly one waitress in the entire place and our service was just OK. Burger and fries were delicious.

Yelp
Yummy and filling burger was just what I needed after a long drive into tahoe. Fries were so good and the char flavor on the burger took it to the next level. My friend enjoyed his Hazy too.

Yelp
It was a perfect place to get a quick lunch on Thursday afternoon. Everything was top-notch for us. This place is clean , inviting , local flowers on the table , and cozy seats by the window. We loved it. Service was quick and attentive throughout our stay. Now let's talk about food It was EXCELLENT! The fried chicken sandwich was SO flavorful and juicy, probably one of the best we ever had. There were so many interesting add-ons on it, so it created a very vibrant taste. We highly recommend it. Fish & chips are top-notch, too. It took me back to England :) The beer on tap was great !

Yelp
As a party of 7 with a dog, our table was prepared as soon as we got there. As we waited we struck up a conversation with the owner which was really great! Our servers were attentive and friendly. I started off with a mocktail - I forgot the name of it but it had pineapple in it. I liked the flavor but I overall thought it was too sweet. I also got the mahi mahi tacos - the elote was good but could have used a little more spice to it. The fish tacos also had a good blend of flavors but I thought the fish was dry. Very large portion sizes!

Yelp
Came by for good grub after a morning hike. We were seated promptly and they were busy but not too crowded. It was a little dark inside but they had the TV on. Shrimp ceviche: 4 stars. Tasted pretty fresh and balanced flavors with enough tanginess. Not the best I've had but it was pretty up there with many I've had. However not too much shrimp. Plenty of chips thought. Fish and chips: 4 stars. 2 huge pieces of batter fish over a large bed of fries. Tasted pretty with the tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Truffle burger: 4 stars. Tasty charred burger with mushrooms, caramelized onions, with light truffle flavors. So yummy. I would totally ordered it again. Came with salad or fries. Beer flights: got to say I love it that they allow you to order the beer in smaller size to try out the flavors. $3 for a 3 oz glass of beer in flavor of your choice. Got the plum ipa, strawberry seltzer and juicy IPA. I totally enjoyed it because I can't drink too much and this allow me to try multiple different flavors. They also had mocktails and the little one got the watermelon one. Tasted ok.

Yelp
Server did not mention that a 20% tip was automatically added. I gave him my card and he swiped it, then handed me the credit card reader that asked for a tip. I did a 15% tip. The server gave me my card, then handed me the receipt. IF YOU ARE GOING TO AUTOMATICALLY ADD A TIP, THEN DON'T ASK FOR A TIP WHILE I'M PAYING! 35% tip is outrageous!
