Coles Point Tavern

The atmosphere is top notch. That is all that is, though. We had a party of 8, the first diners to arrive. The orders were fairly simple, however, you would have thought it was the most complicated meals ever. I ordered a big salad and wings. After 1hour and 45 minutes, my supposedly extra crispy wings were chewy and flavorless, similar to a 7-11 wing. The salad arrived after the wings. It was good but at that point, useless. We got most of our food after many other patrons arrived. Maybe because we were judged as bikers? Or maybe because the manager does not know how to manage a restaurant? The servers were great . Nothing to complain about there. I think the owner is the issue, truly.

I have been at this establishment 3 times. First 2 okay. Pizza best thing on the menu. 3rd terrible. Cold food; fries and fish sandwich. Flounder Fish sticks terrible and waited one hour for them. Sent them back and ordered rock fish bites 45 minutes later left with nothing. Best thing about this place is that they are there. Not much around. The staff is friendly however, I think the owner or cook has a mentality of just cook as the orders come in. He/ She can’t pivot so customer satisfaction is out the window. Fortunately for them beautiful spot on the water and as I said no competition. Probably could be a better restaurant if it was managed better.

Happened by here after work and gave it a try as I had commercials on the radio focused on the live music. Got a great local IPA from a local brewery across the Potomac and an ice cold glass just the right size. Lots of house made specials from an owner who is very hands on. We shared an order of the Chesapeake pay fries smothered in she crab soup and parm. They were absolutely delish and while a surprising combination paired well together. Even though it’s an hour from home, I’m already planning my next trip. Reduced hours off season so check before you go.

What a wonderful little spot! Sunset views, excellent crab fries and crab cakes! Teresa, our server was truly outstanding! Definitely a dive in some ways, but my God the food, service, and views are unbeatable! A must go! Update: do not order the cheese steak, really just don't do it.

I needed a day away and found Cole's Point Tavern. I had the best crab cake sandwich I might have ever eaten and a really nice conversation with the waitress, Jocelyn. Everyone was very friendly and the view was amazing. I will definitely make many future trips :)

I has a group of 16 bikers with me and we ate on the deck. The weather was great. I waitress was fantastic and handled our big group efficiency. My friend and I split a seafood pizza which is total awesomeness!!!

First time here. We came by boat. Easy docking. Pleasant atmosphere. Kitchen was apparently way understaffed. Mixed drinks were way too strong. Food was ok but the plate presentation was pretty bad. Overall decent experience.
